Yeah in WvW i can do well with nades. I love luring people into water haha. And I have no problem with support specs. It is just our DPS specs seem to be weak/easy to counter. I tried using a high crit chance rifleman, dual pistol alchemist, but none seem up to par compared to other classes. If anyone has a good PvP build, that would be awesome if yo could post it on here.

So let me start out by saying engineer is very fun class. Not the best, but fun. Lost of unique skills. Amazing in PvE, etc.

Now the rant starts

First, engineers seem to suck in PvP. I know most of you will say otherwise. But i’ve tried all the builds and they seem really easy to counter. The dual pist burst alchemist build is such an easy counter. It is very easy to identify when he activates his burst and then you just pop invisi, invulnerable, or guard, or just hide till it ends. Then we are sitting ducks in terms of actually doing DPS. I can escape greatly, but thats about it. My dps sucks after i do a burn. Then I have thiefs and warriors do kitten tons of damage to me or a mesmer.

We just seem very very underpowered to the other classes. Some say we require more skill, but I’ve tried the other classes and they are so much easier to play. They need to make each class require about the same amount of skill to use.

Half our skills seem usless. I really don’t use too many turrents. Net turret seems to be the only good one. The other half are either too bad compared to the other skills or just useless in PvP.

I just expected more from engineer, but they just seem way to reliant on their team and can not put out as much dps constantly compared to other classes.

I agree with OP. If they make WvW more combackable then yes it would work. Right now there is one server whose in first and and nobody really messes with and the two lower servers try to fight each other. But if we do WvW then one team could dominate and the other just lose and quit instead of fighting with the other loser.

Let me give you a bit of info. The perp in question did this around 1-2:30 server time. I reported him at that time and left for class. I just got home and have PMed a mod on the forums. We would have had 2 orbs then, 1 we got in all fairness, the other hacked. I am being told by other members of our server that we were hacked back to retake the orbs (someone else using fly hack, though no proof was taken). So don’t worry, we have no unfair advantage anymore haha. But again, i apologize. If the mod replies and we get this guy banned, i will reply with whats going on. Lets be patient with Anet, i’m sure they are working on getting these hacks fixed.

Yeah, I’m really embarrased by this. We’re not a big guild. Recruitments hard these days. We dont have any requirements and we just recruit everyone, no matter level or class. This person seems young. (What idiot announces hes going to hack in a guild he just joined). Anyways, I tried sending him an email saying if he wants to join the guild to send me his player name (I’m not aware of the account names of players, only their char names and we had recruited a few people along with him), but the mail didn’t work. He might have been banned already.

Hello. I am an officer with BV. I can confirm this picture and who it is. Today we were recruiting and a new person joined. I was about to leave for class 5-10 mins. He started saying how he was hacking and bla bla bla. I took screenshots of him admitting it, reported him for scamming (no real report button for hacking). I have no idea how to report him. But i can confrim that this person was hacking. I have screenshots of him admitting it in guild chat. If a GM or somebody who can handle this thing will get in contact with me, I will give you the name and screen shots if required. He seemed new (he didn’t even know what orbs looked like, where they were kept, etc).

I'm a mesmer. Explain this to me

Engineers have been nerfed in every patch in some way or another, so it is not like we are getting nerfed. This current burst damage build is not that good. Very easy to counter. Once you see the engineer pop any potions, start dodging/ casting any escapes you have. Once the short timer on the burst is gone, we are sitting ducks. If anything engineers need a buff on other skills. This is currently one of the only viable builds i could find that is good all around. Other builds are either very support or rely a ton on your teammates.

And as the guys says, this is WvW. Orbs, level, all that stuff is a factor. Show some full games of him in sPvP then well talk, but who knows how many games it took to get the footage he would show us. Determing if a build is OP based on montages is pure stupidity. If you really want to complain, go back in time during beta. This build has been nerfed many times, and will most likely be nerfed again. Use to be amazing OP, now not so much.

Not really skill, just inexperience/noobishness on my part. I really haven’t researched any of the classes. I guess i need to start running once thiefs go invis. I never knew they had spells they could use that could do that much damage.

Im fighting an thief one on one. He goes down to 25% hp with tons of conditions on him (burn, bleed, poison). He goes invisible. The minute he comes out i take 4k damage, die, and he has 25% more hp and no conditions. Wtf just happened?

What do you run to be tanky? I’ve experimented a bit and elixer gun seems to be amazing for staying alive. probably shield too, but im not sure what other skills to use. Probably elixers.

Hello, so I’ve been looking at the classes and im wondering a few things. I’m personally an engineer, and instead of posting in one of the class subforums (those are about as biased as fox news. Every subforum for a class says their class is underpowered) i’d like to ask them here.

Right now im running a alchemy/dual pistol build. Great burst damage. However not too many escapes. I use exlier S as my main escape. Are there any other viable substitution for this? Once i use it to avoid a burst, i have a really tough time surviving.

Is there a way to counter stealth? It annoys me greatly when fighting a thief one on one and he goes stealth every 3 seconds and comes back with more HP. I have no idea how to counter it except run in circles. There is no anti stealth besides AoE and it is stilll tough to correctly shoot a pistol shot where i think he might be.

Secondly, how do you guys recognize spells? With all the flashy animations, it is sometimes hard for me to see the people themselves. With no action bar under their portrait, im having a hard time identifying when spells are being cast, any suggestions?

Thirdly, with mesmers. What is a good way to counter their clone survivability. Like the thiefs, these guys always seem to be replacing themselves with clones and im having to run around trying to find the right one and when I do he switches again.

Also, any suggestions for my class in general? I use this build (the alchemy/dual pistol burst) and a good satchel/point holder build.

This particular video is first of all from the 21st. This build has been nerfed heavily. Secondly, this is WvW. That guy could be low level or something else. The thing about mesmers is that they are able to survive like crazy.

Yeah WvW has some big design flaws. The rewards aren’t nearly as good as they should be. The only thing to be rewarded for is offensive taking of places. But if you’re losing the entire server quits. I’ve had my server quit almost entirely on some of the maps within the first 2 days. This is a problem that needs to be corrected. Players need more incentives for actually trying to come back, and for doing something other than running with the zerg.

Many players I talk to don’t even bother joining the losing team. They say the repair cost aren’t worth it, and I agree. Shooting down 30+ s in one hour because im trying to do something other than zerg is bad.

One thing is night capping, this is another reasons players quit. If one server is night capping (like mine. EB got pushed to the spawn overnight by blackgate…) people actulaly transfer servers to the winning server. Ontop of that, the buffs they get from winning just snowball it into this steamroller. They get more players thanks to free world transfers, more players on the losing server quits, and they become more powerful thanks to buffs. Within 2 days entire servers quit, this is bad.

On the orignal post, i agree with all of it. WvW is just so repetitive after a while since offensive zerging is the only rewarding system.

Yeah shin. Thats my problem. None arrow carts or ballistas can hit the trebuchet unless i go inside of the keep.

So i was messing around in WvW and I found a path you can take to get ot the outside of the WvW maps. What I mean by this is you can walk along the hills that surround WvW.

This seems like it is an exploit and is kinda hard to explain in writing. I’m not going to say it on here, but how do i report it?

My questions is that sometimes, especially on borderlands, there are these areas within keeps that have range of surrounding towers with trebuchet. What i mean is that you can place a trebuchet inside the safety of the keep and it can fire on surrounding towers.

Is this meant to be? IT seems a bit over powered. My problem with WvW is that once you start winning, you just get more and more powerful. You take a keep/tower, now you can seige another keep/tower without having to leave yours. You just got the orbs? now you can own even more.

I think there should be a way to build in safespots simply because they are almost impossible to counter. Sure you can speed build another trebuchet, but you have to make sure the other one doesn’t see you and then get 10 willing people wtih supplies to build it. I’ve lost 1 superior trebuchet and 2 regulars thanks to people ignoring my request to build it. Doing this seems very very hard in pugs. Sure i could get some guildies in here, but there is no group join and with Ques, its kinda hard.

So yeah, did they do this on purpose? If so do you think it is a bit OP? If not, why?

I’ve played on a few different servers, and this is a constant compliant. Either hacking or one server just night caps. I can see not a lot of people favor WvW. If they ever release a new form of PvP, im afraid wvw will become a lot less played.

So last night i went to bed, we were in first. I went to bed around 2-3. Woke up this morning and we’re in last and i’m being told that they night capped us. Then I am also told that people have been doing a “flyhack” to get orbs and steamroll. Is it really that bad? I mean i haven’t been paying much attention to the WvW forums or WvW battles, only recently have I started playing it a lot. So is it really that common?

yeah it is quite annoying. 1v1 with a good thief generally goes like this, stealth, stun, im at half health in .5 seconds haha. I know i should be carrying a stunbreaker, but dam.

Something i notice is there doesn’t seem to be a counter to stealth at all. Not even if you’re on top of the person.

So is there a counter that i’m missing? I hate it when a thief goes invisible and i just stand there like an idiot.

So yeah, i know about most of the rifle/condition builds. I didn’t know that about mines, or rather that they stick. Last I check, the flamethrowers smoke screen didn’t work as a combofinisher.

I’m trying a medkit/Exlier gun WvW build. It seems really good so far. Since it seems no matter what build I use, if i get in close some arrow cart or something will tear me apart. So i mostly use my skills as backup, especially during seiges. My exlier guns AoE heal is great since most of the time they crowd around. I can throw medkits, so i can safely give heals from afar without having to worry about getting attacked. I use my 4 as an escape when needed and the 2 when chasing. The mass condition remover is amazing too. Im using a rifle which is good when chasing or getting attacked, backblast + net + 4 on exlier gun + swiftness on medkit = fast get aways. My damage/soloablity isn’t that great. Once my cooldowns are up, i try to provide support. The 50% less regen on the exliers gun auto is great to help get people down (stops them from dodge as much). i’m still working on what to use as my remaining skills. I have the potion that does the rez when using toolbetl, great for WvW. With the mine things, ill probably do that. Placeing down a Exlier AoE heal, then doing the grenades for another mass heal is great in groups i’d assume. Im running 30 in tools and 30 in inventions. 10 in alchemy. Still working on the traits, but most of the things in tools allow me to run very fast. This makes it so that if they target me, i can get out fast. Great for kiting too/chasing people down.

Also we did a 10 vs 20 defend supply camp today with me. We basically held them off till more reinforcments arrived. I popped my cooldowns whenever they were ready and used the mass anti condition on the teammates to help reduce the damage input. I rezzed whenever possible and could do lots of rezzes at once.

I just would like to see incentives to attack the winning realm instead of ganging up on number two or three. That’s the whole point of three realm RvR system, right? so that if any one realm gets to be too powerful, the lesser two will focus on it and more or less ignore each other? That’s not happening. The orb bonus isn’t helping matters much. Get rid of it. Now. Disable it for a week or two and see if anything changes.

I agree with this. There really isn’t a point to winning. Sure you have the upgrades, but I still don’t feel rewarded when I do something or capture something or when i’m winning. I only feel bad about the orbs because i know that server is probably going to be owning. I think orb bonuses should apply to outside of PvP. Like more MF, more karma, etc; for everyone on the server.

i disagree with the snowball-effect statement. If two equally-skilled teams went at it, this would be true, but each team is not going to have the same skill level. So if you’re better than the other team, you’ll win.

Thats not really true. One team starts to win on either side. They get the orbs that futher buff themselves. They then start taking keeps and supply camps. They have more supplies while the person they are beating are getting less and less, making it harder to comeback.

There is an example of what i was saying earlier. Give me some details. Which map, which keep, what were the keeps upgrades, what level were you guys, what was your team comp, were you all in a party/knew each other. How many arrow carts did you have, what was your general strategy? Things like that. People clearly must be doing something wrong since you guys can do this stuff, help us understand what we are doing wrong instead of just bragging.

Everytime I talk to people about the engineer, they always say the grenade/rifle build is the best.

I would love a build that would use some of the less used skills. Mines, Stachel (i use satchel a lot in spvp), toolkits, Elixer gun (i’d love to use this) , and a more support role with the med kit

What are you suggestions? Im going to go experiment with some stuff with the elixer gun and a support build, ill reply with what I find.

I get your point. There are a lot of escapes for AoE. But still, escaping and going out of range of DPS just to escape a AoE is bad imo. True, choke points can offer some amazing advantages. But I find very few of them on the map. Bridges, a few tunnels, and gate entrences are the only ones I can think of.

and im not complaining pointlessly. I’m hoping they will take my feedback. Even if it is a rage, they should still consider the feedback. Everytime someone comes on here and critique something and then people say “Go quit the game then, they don’t need you”, or "Quit whining we don’t want to hear ", then it turns into games like SWTOR or Star trek, or some other failed mmo. I’m looking on these forums and there seem to be more complaints about WvW then anything. This being said, saying WvW is fine where it is at is a fatal mistake, clearly something is wrong. I may be wrong with what I think, but something is wrong for sure.

Now people constantly say “X amount of allies stood up against Y enemies because of coordination (or some variation of the word)”, but what does that mean? What did you do? Was it a pug or a group of guildies? Did you time combos or just were in a party and could watch each others dots? People constantly say this and never explain what they mean. It may just be my server, the two biggest guilds i never see doing big groups in WvW, maybe 2-3.

I do dodge, plenty. I try to get out of AoEs. But there are just so many snares and so many red circles, its tough.

Don’t try to defend zerging. I think it is a large design flaw because it supports a system based around numbers rather than skill, quantity over quality. I think this should never happen in any video game.

Personally the coins drop vary rarely for me, especailyl when running in zergs. I may get 2-6 in an hour. I was thinking about saving up for the armor, but im thinking of giving up on that.

Something to slow it down. Something to help promote organization and strategy. Instead of rushing a keep with 4 rams and then doing it over again when on the next one or when it is retaken. Perhaps a debuff of sorts.

Now some possible fixes with their respected numbers.

1. Give us more direct and creative spells and abilities. There seems to be no synergy or skill in WvW. It is purely about numbers and money, and that angers me a lot. Especially this is the pvp event where you can get stuff and show off (sPvP is fun, despite the AoE spells, but you can’t really take anything with you into the real world. GW had special emotes and what not, this has nothing it seems. Besides titles)

2. Some how give players a reason to split up. I’m not sure how you’d do this, but put side objective type of things; beside supply camps. Something small groups and split off from and take, but still make a difference. The supply camps and the little NPC type of guys are cool, but they dont seem to make a whole lot of a difference.

3. Don’t give the winning teams so many buffs. I would say turn WvW into small instanced battles instead of this big zerg fest, but that kinda defeats the hype.

4. Give a cooldown time of when you can attack and when you can take places. Maybe when you take a keep you have to wait 10-20 mins before it can be retaken. Another thing is putting a debuff on players that when you log off or exit, it can’t be destroyed or removed. IT last 30 mins and makes it so you can’t capture areas for 30 mins or till the game is up. This will cause players to slow down, and actually organize and think about their attacks. This can also prevent teams from steamrolling an entire team and taking all their land, then causing snowball to come into affect and just screw a team over. The debuff can be given to players in a range around an area when it is taken or like how events record stuff. So when you attack and do all this stuff, and leave the area. The game still realizes you were there and when it gives you an event reward, it gives you the debuff.

5. This is a tough one to counter. First he free world changes need to be turned off to counter the spies. How to make sure two teams don’t just steam roll one team? i really don’t know. The attack debuff from 4 might help.

6. Just removed repair cost. It pisses me off more than anything. The seige is alright, but the rest i can’t stand.

7. attack debuff would work here.

8. Just make the rewards better. They should be 3x or 4x what they are now. Especially if you can’t do this stuff ands team roll a team.

One last thing, just make it so big groups can join at once. There is so many possibilities in WvW, but instead people just run around in a big zerg following predictable straight line patterns.

The idea for this was great. I was really excited for this and the PvP. Every time I played WvW i get really annoyed, frustrated, andkitten off. I eventually end up leaving because the cons are way to much.

First part, the way PvP in gw2 is made. It seems most of the skills, and damage is based around AoE. I really don’t like this because most battles are >dodge snares>finally get snared> tons of AoEs. This is the same with support spells. They all seem to be AoE. Personally I think it is a lazy way of making skills. In WvW it is even worse with the sheer amount of people and arrow carts.

Second, despite what can be initially thought, the AoE setup promotes zergs. So WvW turns into a big AoE zerg fest in battles. I have never idea what is going on because there are so many red circles, so many people dodge and randomly blocking because of some skill. I’m just trying to get as many people as i can into little green circles of spells hoping one of them does something.

Third, WvW is a snowball game. What is meant by this is when someone starts winning, they just keep getting stronger and stronger. This is evident with orbs of powers and other unlockable upgrades. It also works this way is when one server starts to lose, people leave. So then you have one server who is full and dominating against other servers who are missing people and don’t have all the buffs.

Fourth, I take this, it is retaken within seconds. I find this very unfun. When originally hearing about WvW, I imagined taking a fortress, fortifying it, and occupying/defending it with my guildies and then organizing with the other people at other fortress when to attack at once. Instead what I got is a tug of war between two zergs. Our zerg takes this, our zerg doesn’t have as many so when their zerg comes we die, they take it back, rinse and repeat.

Fifth, teaming up, and spies. Every time our zerg gets into position to do something, their zerg comes out of no where. Also I see teams team up with each other. So it becomes 1v2. How do I know this? Well besides both their zergs attacking us at once, the borders between them don’t even change. They literally sometimes don’t’ change from default.

Sixth, Pricing. My god this is a money drain. With repair cost and seige cost, you will spend a lot fast. Because of this you have people expecting others to buy stuff so nothing gets done. Most people get their siege off of chest and don’t bother buying stuff. Then you got repair cost. The main reason i eventually quit is because i dont want to lose all the cash.

Seventh, these matches are supposed to last a week, but it is just a constant zerg rush attacking. Seems way to fast paced for what it is supposed to be.

Finally, the rewards suck. The amount you get for doing events is just bad. There seems to be no point in WvW except it is kinda fun if you’re on the winning team. If you’re losing everyone just ignores the zone and doesn’t play it.

It seems none of our active upgrades are working. Even though we have a guild armorer and a guild banker, we can’t access them. The NPCs tell us that we have not upgraded to them. Another friend of another guild said he bought upgrades and nothing happened, just lost influence. So i’m afraid to do anything with my guild now.

Well its kinda random. The timer will start when the previous event has ended. So one time it may take 30 mins, another is 40 mins, another 20, etc. So it is really hard to time it unless you have had someone there to tell you when the previous one died. It is this way so its not as easy to zerg it at once. If it was timed, you’d have half the server there getting ready to kill it.

The first area of Orr is the farming area (which they’ll probably fix). Once they fix it, people are going to solo more and its going to be a lot harder. Theres two more areas besides the one farming area, a 75-80 and a 80. Soloing this area can be very difficult. Mobs are close and they respawn fast. Some events are bugged, as with most 50+ areas, but they’ll fix them in time.

Well its kind obvious why not all events are challanging. They are clearly trying to appeal to a casual audience while giving them a challange at the end, especially for the hardcore players. I mean, this is a company. Wether we like it or not, they are going to try to get the most profits. The way the game is setup is to be appealing to casual players. No sub, no quest/reading (just follow markers that randomly pop up), the ability to ignore every person in the game and solo everything, etc. I mean look at shatterer. It doesn’t get much more casual than that. Same with a lot of the first zone bosses. Imagine if they made the first zone bosses really hard, a lot of people would get frustrated, especially if they’re casual.

I really don’t blame them for it, even more so when i see people complain Orr is too hard.

Almost level 80, Tier 3 a bit much?

So im about half a bar away from 80 and I took a look at the tier 3 armor. I would need almost 100g just to afford it all. Correct me if I’m wrong, but getting gold in this game seems to be quite tiresome. Doing world events usually grants me 50c-2 silver. Items don’t sell that well themselves (going some items sell for under a silver). I usually salvage and sell my items, but still. 100g is going to take a very, very long time of grinding and farming it seems like, quite contrary to what this game was advertised as (no grinding).

I mean if anyone has any tips on how to get this stuff, besides using the cashop (probably their aim in making the prices so high), it would be amazing.

SO you think dynamic events are a bit too easy? Well, i tell you what. Get to Orr, and do endgame ones. Specially Temple of Balthzar in the straights. My god that is hard. Orr seems to be the hardest zone for PvE and a lot less casual.

Also, does anybody have any tips of beating Temple of Balthzar.

In my experience, the engineer is more of a support DPS class. We have a lot of combo fields (fire, smoke, poison, light, fire, etc) we can be great support if we have someone coordinating with us. With our massive amount of roots and support spells, the ability to be a healing class with a pretty good amount of healing when speced right (medkit + exilier gun), our ability to stop chases (exilier gun, net shots, etc) knock backs and other things make us great support.

In sPvP i use a point defend build. In most cases i can 1v1 people or 1v2 depending on class. Im great at stalling people.

So i see all these armors in the TP with no preview and I’m curious, do all these have special and unique looks. Or are they as their icons portray them and just the Duelists armor looks?

i can understand where these people are coming from. You guys say that it is just about an easy way to kill things. But why make one class have it easy and make the other require skill. I sympathize with many of these people. I mean, in a mmo or any place where there is PvP, no one class should have it easy. Right now a few classes do. They should either make them all have it easy or all have skill, not a mix.

WvW-Should it be like Alliance Battles? Or keep it the way it is?

In guild wars 1, they released something similar to WvW, except on a much larger scale. It was about doing something in PvP that affected the PvE areas. You’d capture areas, win points, etc etc. However these were battles of 12 v 12 and had such large guild support.

My question is, should WvW be changed to this setup? A few of my biggest grudges against WvW is the repair, balance (but can’t really complain. All mmos are unbalanced at start), the fact that if you lose nobody plays but if you win the que is 4-5 hours long, the lack of a joining a WvW in large groups.

I personally believe they should either start doing multiple games or rework the idea. If the do multiple games, then you can have more than one game going and its not a big blob of pugs against another blob of pugs and seeing who has the highest levels and best gear.

Now most people use the argument, oh you need to get organized. I’d love to, but sadly i can’t join with people at once. I may get 3-5 people in, but a map this size, i would at least like to be able to have 20 people join at once from the guild.

So chances are we are going back to Cantha in the next expansion (don’t wanna give any spoilers away, just read the lore) and they might put in Guild vs Guild and Alliance battles (or combine them), but i still think WvW needs some heavy reworking to live up to the hype pre release.

But what do you guys/gals think?

Engineering Tips and Medium armor question

Yeah the Flame and grenade skills are not fields. And i just tested the trait and it works. Just keep in mind with knockback its is where the hit lands. So where you get launched from. So knockbacks will cause it to activate, however the knockback range will push you out of range from it and not allow you to do stealth. So it depends on where you land. I tested it on a target dummy and i sometimes landed right on the line of the AoE and was able to chain the stealth.

Hey there. First let my start out by giving some tips about engineers. There is currently one major problem with engineers, that is certain skills that are required for combos do not work. Most new people have no idea what a combo is. But basically if you look at the tool tip on skills, they will have Combo finisher or Combo field. Each has their own special aspects to them. The wiki will tell you all of them. But for example, the Elementalist is the only one with a Electricity combo field. Now engineers have a few things that should work, but dont currently. One of such is the Big ol bomb of the satchel toolbelt skill. It is supposed to be a combo finisher as blast, but doesn’t work. Another issue is with the flamethrowers blind, it doesn’t create a smoke field. But other skills work. Mines are blast, the reflect projectile release is a blast, the jump shot is a leap, the smoke bomb from the satchel kit is a smoke field, etc. Now you can do a few combos with this. Such as Smoke bomb-> rocket boots. This will cause you to not only fly back, but also turn invisible. By the time you rear appear you can be long gone if you land in the right place. However this will create an Area of Invisi, which means other teammates around you during you escape will go invis. Now you can also do smoke bomb and then leap jump, this will cause only you to turn into invsi. Now it doesn’t last long, about 3 seconds, but it is still useful. Detonating turrents also give a blast. Now i’ve been working with a few different builds and figuring out how to utilize these. One such example is taking the automatic smoke bomb in the last part of the explosives tree. I’ve been trying to use it for WvW using grenades as a kit with rocket boots. So when i get caught, i just automatically release a smokebomb and then i rocket out of there and continue my ranged DPS. From what testing i’ve done, the trait doesn’t work. But I am still unsure because i’ve only used it in WvW and its hard to see if a skill pops or not. Im going to attempt to use it in PvE, ill reply with an update on it. So if we take a look at the combos the engineer can achieve, they can be very good. Now from what I have heard, big ol bomb worked in Beta and was very good. You would set it off and it would give a 10 second area of stealth. But since it is broken and probably nerf, i am not sure the effectiveness of it. Just make sure you test out combos to make sure they work before going on with traits and what not.

Now my second part of this is…

Where do you get the following armor models? I saw them in the PvP locker and have no idea where to get them

Once you join an order, thats it. You will have to remake your character. To see what armors look like, visit Heat of the Mist and go to the PvP locker. They are called priory armor, or vigil armor, or whispers.

So ..... I'm Confused about Guilds .....

As a guild leader you can edit ranks, do anything with the guild, put an emblem, upgrade to have a bank, armorer, etc. Google your questions about guilds for tutorials on how to do stuff, like promote, invite, etc.
