If you got a decent group that know the tictacs of AC, all of them are pretty fast. The one with the traps being probably the pastest (P2?)

Don’t forget: they will be working on a revamp of the dungeons. They will do so through stories that make sense (not like AC where out of the blue the dungeon was completely different). This might result in COF P1 becoming longer, harder, whatever and still result in a nice coin.

I don’t really see a great argument for why people should be refunded on the infusions. They made a lot of gold thanks to them, it’s not like it was a bad investment. Not all investments stay good forever.

You’re just making silly assumptions. They have never said they won’t be compensating players or something. They will with MF and probably also with this.

Pretty much all you said was discussed in the blogpost. Also: storymode should not give the same as explorable. It should give some and I believe it will according to the blogpost, but I’m not sure. Story mode is easier and introduces the player to the dungeon therefore should reward less. A hardmode storymode I’m game for if it yields more tokens.

GW2 needs to brew a little while before a large content patch comes out. They’re mastering and refining the system while they keep us entertained with small patches and frequent events, and I think this is the right thing to do.

When and if they finally come out with an expansion or large content patch, it will be all the more amazing because of the experience they’re getting and system tweaking they’re doing now.

Exactly! And with the current amount of teams and people working on the content I am pretty psyched! Sure the content was some a bit dull and short, but they have a LOT more time to invest in the living story so I think it can only go up from here.

There was no good proof that it worked to begin with so taking it off the gear is a step in the right direction as it pretty much was a waste.

Most likely the buffs will apply for chests as well. Just like with MF they’ll compensate for it. What’s up with all the negativity here? Come on.

I’m super excited myself! These upcoming changes are sounding very promising and I’m glad I’ve stuck around for so long to see all of this happen. Stuck with GW2 as it has huge potential and if they pull these changes off + some more good stuff in the future then I am a very happy young man.

Perhaps this is an idea for the future of personal story? Class bound. For the most part I liked the personal story regardless so I would want to go back to it. On my Charr I recruited a Warband, where are they again? I forgot whose in it to begin with..

Zones I don’t know, never had such a thing before, but dungeons for sure!

The whole idea behind the current system is that you can do it from level 1 and get to 80 purely by PvP if you so desire.

I support mounts purely from a cosmetic standpoint. They don’t need to be faster than walking normally. Yes the waypoint system works brillianty, but I would like to see my Norn ride a Dolyak through the Shiverpeaks! Or my Charr on something steampowered.

Could easily be added in the same sense as cultural armor: expensive stuff or in the store.

As long as they’re not tied to your townclothes.

If fights become harder or certain mechanics are introduced attach achievements to this. Good example would be: Kill Golem in COE with Turret X on the whole fight to the point of all 4 being on. At the moment it is ridiculously easy and you can just DPS through it. I hope that when fights like these are redone they are made actually difficult when you keep turrets/buffs etc. up during a fight.

What do you think of this? I’ve always loved these kind of achievements in previous games as most of the time they would bring an extra challenge to the table to an encounter that you might’ve done many times before.

I guess its just frustrating for me to so much meaningless content to be produced on such quick a timeline. Many players have been asking for anet to connect a story line to the lore and most of this new stuff seems extraneous.

But to come back to your comment. I am worried about the progress of the new tasks anet has. They stated they will have no expansions and so far, with the exception of dungeon patches, haven’t produced anything worth mentioning. What I fear is that NCsoft is controlling them since our gem store money has had little evident effect.

Just wait. The stories seem very disjointed right now, but that will probably change within the next month or so.

It’s doable, a little hard and some getting used to. Look up video’s/tactics to know the boss in and out. The combat is way different than a traditional MMO so you’ll want to dodge a lot etc. Make sure your gear is up to date as well.

Yep, I vote for it as well. Though I believe ANet has realised this problem as well and they are working on a better lootsystem (a more rewarding one).

Well, I called it a buff, but it probably isn’t. In WoW you buy a certain item using the dungeon token currency and it has a line saying ‘you have x hours to trade it back in for a full refund’ even items looted in dungeons have a ‘x hours to trade it with a player that was also in the dungeon’ for when accidents like this happen. It will reduce a lot of grief and ANet doesn’t need to worry about these things anymore. I don’t have a clue about programmig etc., but I can’t imagine a refundsystem is difficult to implement.

That obviously should not be the case. The idea that the faster/better you do a dungeon=a bigger reward is a good idea imo. BUT! People, in my opinion, cheat through dungeons nowadays and COF being a prime example. They have found loopholes, skips etc. to make the run so easy and quick that they can get the most out of it. The thing is that it is currently being rewarded. To skip or not to skip, there are people split on it. I don’t do it, people are more than welcome to do so, but in the case of COF1 it’s a little extreme.

I was in a dungeon a few weeks ago (SE p3) and we picked up one guy, 4 of us were from the same guild. He told us we were not doing the dungeon ‘as intended’ as we were NOT skipping mobs. Yea.

I think these magical enhancement will become very popular. He took a Tooth which means he was literally in the jaws of death survived and was able to carry away the tooth and escape Jormags wrath. I agree though that the tooth might have been a symbol of failure so his name might be shunned like Eir was from book 2 when she failed to kill the champion.

Yea then again he did take out a tooth from an Elder Dragon haha. He faced Jormag head on and walked away. Perhaps he failed that he didn’t kill him, but he did lead his people to a new home and founded Hoelbrak. If they didn’t believe in him they wouldn’t have listened and follow him to begin with I reckon.

I recently found myself accidentally buying another Ascended ring, same as my previous, unknowing that it was unique. While this is my fault, there is no possible way to get a refund. I have contacted ArenaNet, but I am assuming the worst (35 laurels gone to waste).

My suggestion is the following: put a refund system in place. Every item bought from a vendor using a currency like Dungeon Tokens and Laurels (perhaps even Karma gear as well) should get a ‘buff’ that says: you have x amount of hours to trade this back to the merchant for a full refund. This system is in place in various MMO’s and I whole heartily believe it will reduce a lot of grief for players. Also ArenaNet can stop helping people out with issues like this.

What do you think about a refund system like the above? Any improvements?

Which category should I put this ticket into? Refunds? It’s about real life moneys and stuff though. Cheers.

I have made two tickets thus far, but my issue is not a bug. Also the support website doesn’t seem to be a place to report this and I would like to know where I could.

Recently I made a stupid mistake of buying another of the same Ascended Ring. I had no idea they were unique so I pretty much wasted my Laurels on them as no other character has any use for it. Is there any way I can report this to ANet in the hopes of a bug?

Completely my own fault, but then again I would still like a refund because it’s still 35 laurels gone to waste.

On another note: why isn’t there a buyback/sellback system ingame? I would assume I am not the only one making silly mistakes like this.

I’m all down for more books really! Don’t care that they’re not chronological anymore, good reads anyway! I would love to have more books about the lore that took place between GW1 and GW2, like all previous books have been. I’m a huge Norn fan so yes please!

Asgeir would be a good story to tell I think. What happened when Jormag awoke, the spirits of the wild, the founding of Hoelbrak etc. I think it would be a good read! There are some small stories about this out there, but I would be down reading a book about it! And this comes from someone who despises reading :p

Braham outright states he has no interest in fighting the Elder Dragons. So unless Rox pulls him along in doing so, I doubt he’ll be aiding the Pact anytime soon. As said, Braham, Rox, and Kiel are likely going to be major forces in the Living Story, and not a “second Destiny’s Edge.” Kasmeer too, I suspect (reason being: Braham, Rox, Kasmeer, and Kiel are all champions iirc – akin to how all members of Destiny’s Edge are Legendaries).

This indeed. Just like we have the personal story revolving around the pact and Trahearne (ugh. Trahearne) and the dungeon story about Destiny’s Edge, Living Story would most likely revolve around the characters introduced there. Cameo’s will probably happen here and there, but it would be the easiest to follow for most people if they kept it seperate.

As far as I know there is NO information at all about Glint’s life before being a champion of Kralk.

Check the wiki’s, which are based from tales that were put ingame. There is no information about her life before it, no. All the info we have, as far as I know, is that she was named Glaust once, but people started calling her Glint. There’s very little info on Glint, though some is also reveiled in some story dungeons here and there. Also in the Destiny’s Edge book.

I’d very much like the current Destiny’s Edge to continue! Perhaps a Destiny’s Edge 2, second guild, would be nice. It seems that all those little stories will end up somewhere together and perhaps that’s the case for those main characters, some of them at least.

I seem to be one of the only people that’s ‘attached’ to Destiny’s Edge. I read the book, so I guess that’s why..

What Weirwynn says it’s true, but is a bit overpowered in a sense compared to other classes. I run Med Turret so I don’t get the benefit of it, but yea. I would like to see it be triggered through Healing Mist and Regenerating Mist as well. Perhaps even Water Combo field activation through Blasting? If the 10second CD is still on there I don’t see any problem, there are just more options for us to trigger it.

This or something like a Wardrobe System like with the achievement rewards system. Got an awesome armor set, love it. Wanna try out another specc, but I can’t ‘cause I’d have to spend a LOT of gold to switch stats+runes (cause the looks are mint) and what if I wanna swap back?

‘Go get another set of that armor.’ Spent enough time getting my first. No.

The reason I am not doing it is indeed because of no tokens. Story mode should do so by default or introduce a ‘hard mode’. Some mechanics and encounters are awesome in story mode, but unless I am helping out friends, I feel no incentive to play them.

I hope they at least have the dragons as permanent story, that we can do at our own leisure. I will be very annoyed if they make taking down the rest of the dragons as short term ‘living story’ which I feel is great as episodic content but is still unrelated to the main GW2 plot.

I really like Destiny’s Edge, but then again I read the book about them so perhaps that will give me more of an insight into who they are etc.

I would indeed like to see Ferocity/Dignity/Charm to have an actual use. There literally is no use for it right now.

True. Storytelling shouldn’t come from easter eggs and small dialogues here and there. Not the main story at least. We’ll see if it comes together.. That video is interesting, but all pure speculation.

Thanks for the awesome input! Question was: what can be done to be improved? It’s all taste and personal preference when it comes down to characters. Perhaps you should give the book a try, it makes the characters a lot better.

If you have the question: “Who is Marjory?” then I think my question is already answered. She was introduced during the Dragon Bash content as the crimefighting Necromancer, solving the completely obvious case of who killed the councilmember.

Unless she makes a comeback in a killer way, then I’m wrong, it’s a kitten shame that time and effort is put into a character we don’t hear about anymore. Brahm, Roxy? Exactly. The chapter is perhaps closed, but characters like that should have a prominent role. They should have a good background story, be a good character all around and stick around. It seems like a waste of resources to put into characters that after a few weeks completely disappear. Perhaps they will come back, perhaps they won’t, only time will tell. I do find it a kitten shame however.

The only characters I find having substance (though I have read the books) are those of Destiny’s Edge. They’re fun characters, substance, they actually have a personality and you do stuff with them, meaningful stuff. For the most part the story around Destiny’s Edge was written well I found, but my point is: don’t put effort into characters barely anyone cares about and you are going to chuck away afterwards.

Whose Evon Gnashblade again? Where have we seen him before? What do we know? Nothing. That might come, but most likely will be lackluster like before. Ellen Kiel? Meh. We know her since Southsun but she is a very dull character as well.

It might come across as ranty, but I mean the best. I can tell effort is being put into all of this, but it’s such a kitten shame it seems to go to waste.

What’s your take on this and what can be improved story wise?

That’s odd. Every time I switch into it in PvP I get no gearshield.. Should test it on another PC, but it used to work fine for me.
