Even after DH release…. Heck I still have trouble killing some engi’s just cause how much they can kite and popping blocks and elixirs
Bro, are you telling me you can reliably tear up a Scrapper on a node?
I need to reevaluate my life. That is the 1 class when an experienced person plays that I lose to more than win. Or at least have to disengage which is a loss.
It really depends how they play, especially if they’re using the terrain to recover and avoid attacks (the little gaps in foefire or the minecarts for example and pillars in forest). Same thing goes for any classes using those to advantage, I use it too. Those fights just last too long but overall they’re the class I tend the avoid especially in kyhlo where there’s nothing to hide behind.

I was curious to see if any druids here have tried out whether a mix or full spec build with Minstrel, Cleric, and Nomads and see which of the 3 or mix of, would be the most beneficial for a Raid team. It’s hard to speculate since we only have the previous BETA experience and won’t know anything until release. But coming from the 3 stats, cleric will out the most healing power while still having power built into the stats to do some damage. while the other two are full tank with one have boon duration increase (even tho its bugged atm).
Coming from a Guard who use to roam around in WvW with nomads + cleric and I loved doing it, heals boons, condi removal. What more could you ask for. But now it seems Druids are way better on paper which actually makes me a bit upset since it seems like they’ll outdo what Guards could have. I mean lunar impact 5cd with 2.5k base heal? I mean even with the healing power in this game has the worst conversions, that’s still a lot on top of all the other avatar and regular healing abilities. I mean you got guards with wings of resolve hitting for 3.8k with 30cd, dodge roll heals, resolve passive, AH, and receive the light all that stuff but I have yet to test any of this since I don’t have the proper gear for the Druid to compare it to.
What does the druid players think? Not saying Druids should be classified as a Healer in all areas of the game but if one were to play that type of role, would Druids be the better choice over a Guard for example.

Even after DH release, I still feel that Guards have the most basic pvp mechanic compared to other classes not to mention with one of the lowest Vit. I agree that DH is strong if you just don’t dodge anything which is to say for every other classes. But our visual ques are so simple and kiting is like one of the best ways to kill guards, just keep moving.. Heck I still have trouble killing some engi’s just cause how much they can kite and popping blocks and elixirs than coming back at ya.
I know the OP is asking how to beat guards without any life force, but with the crazy chills these days, my question is how do you deal with a nekro with mid-full life force that are above average skill level. Do we just avoid them like D/D Cele Pre expansion? Cause even now, when I fight eles it’s just an ongoing battle, same thing with engis and it’s whoever goes mentally fatigue and messes up their rotations loses.

Knights has 0 vitality though. Mauraders might be better. Then again, no one said you had to do damage. Tanking is perfectly acceptable and Guardians excel at it. With Mace, Aegis traits, AH, and Writ of Persistence, you can shrug off a significant amount of damage while healing up the difference. You could also keep your Soldier gear and stack as much Precision as you can find. There are a lot of options available to you.
I loved supporting as a guard for the longest time in WvW (pvp just dmg same for pve) but with the upcoming raids and not much info aside from the BETA version. Idk if a support guard is any viable in PvE. What do you think? Druids just seems to output way more heal and more frequently as well, for example Lunar Impact on druids with a CD of 5 sec does nearly 2.5k heal. 5 Seconds… meanwhile we have wings of resolve with 3.9 almost 4k heal that has a cd of 30, at the same rate a druid can spam LI as well as other skills to output more heals. Since the healing power in GW2 is really shaky and probably the worst ratio to conversion, it’s hard to really say without doing everything in the field. I’m just going off by stats and traits of each class. When you add mango icecream and maintenance oil for crit heals it improves the overall heal but as of now, not sure what gear would be best intended, from nomads, cleric, to the new minstrels. I mean we do have our resolve passive, dodge roll heals, I just wish signet of courage didn’t have such big CD and casting time.

With the expansion of Druids and Rev. I’m not too sure which of the 3 including guard would best suited for “heals, condi removal and boons.” Of course you’re going to see a lot say Druid and yes on paper they do stuff that I wish Guards had. I have yet to test with all the new minstrel stats or even nomads on a Druid.
However, with a mace/shield + staff with nomad weap/armor and cleric trinkets worked wonders in WvW awhile back for “supporting” the group. Tbh, idk if it’s even possible to bring that back for example into PvE raids, now that we got Druids and Rev. It just seems like we’re being put on the side for both damage and the supportive role but we’ll have to see how raids stack up against Guards.
If anyone else can confirm the difference between the heals of a Guard and a Druid with similar equipment would be great as I’m also debating whether or not to just keep my guard for PvP and go with Druids for raids in the future.

We’re on the North American Servers
Divine Might at this stage is a casual PvE focused guild that is targeting towards future Raids and contents that is offered by ArenaNet (including Fractals/Dungeons).
Our definition of Casual is a bit misleading, it’s steered towards people who would love to put a lot of effort into the game but don’t have the time to. Unlike typical PUG or a massive Guild where you just follow in with the others. We want to build a family atmosphere within the guild, even for those who aren’t frequently online.
Our current member count is 41 and growing, we’re aiming between 50-75, and possibly 100 if we can maintain a close relationship with one another.
Raid Schedule:
Thursday @ 10:00PM EST
Friday @ 9:30PM EST
Sunday @ 7:00PM EST
We currently do not have any spots open and don’t plan on making a second team anytime soon
sPvP Team(s): Alongside the PvE content, we’re currently working on a competitive team for the guild. This team is specifically for the players out there that spend countless hours in HOTM.
With that being said, if you’re interested in playing both content but let say you’re more PvE sided, good news is that we’ll have group of members who don’t want to play competitive but still like to pvp every so often, whether for Guild Missions or Dailies. We already have that set up so you can bounce between both content with fellow guild members.
Recalling back to the intro of this topic, this is where the “Casual” PvE players come into play. Even myself who LOVE to pvp, I still find myself back into PvE every so often. This is where the balance of the guild comes to play. Once we create our competitive team (current focus is just 1, possibly 2 in the future as we grow). If by ever chance you would like to partake in Guild Raids/Missions and/or general PvE content, you are surrounded by a mass of experienced and knowledgeable PvE members within the guild. Same goes for the PvE focused members, you can always hop into sPvP and play alongside the team when they’re not matchmaking (once ranking goes live) and learn how to play your class(es) effectively and know how to counter specific obstacles.
We do have a Teamspeak server available in order to coordinate effectively.
TLDR: PvE focus Guild with a competitive backbone sPvP Team – goal of building a medium size Guild to maintain a strong bond and tackle on challenges waiting ahead.
There will be tryouts for the competitive team. BS aside, yes we all want to win and it’s part of the fun. However, it’s a team game so if you have a tendency to rage often whether from losing or miscommunication, no matter how good you are in pvp, we’re not looking for a toxic environment. And if you were that good, we might as well see you on a pro team, correct? (This is me coming from a long time CS player where it’s a necessity to co-operate in order to work effectively, even if the team is behind or ends up losing a match. It’s all in for the experience as there will always be a better team).
If anyone is interested – Feel free to PM/Mail in-game or leave a message here.
I look forward to those who took the time to read this and gave some thought.
See you soon future Guildies!

We’re looking for 2 people who want to be competitive. Our current goal for the guild is to have 1 core team, which currently is 3. While the rest of the guild is for those who love to pvp but want to stay out of the competitive scene. That being said, the guys who just like to enjoy pvp can still pair up with the main group for the sake of fun but outside of that, we’re looking for 2 more players who are willing to practice and work on comms. Rank 80 is a must.
