Pretty much I’m pretty hard to take down and I win long fights. I posted my build in the stapled thread if you want to know the exact details. Play around with the weapon combination and you’ll get how it works pretty fast, jump in and out keep them always unready.

Personally I would use Cleric not Berserker with the healing Mantra trait in Inspirations. You can still get some of your crit and extra damage along with safe times to recharge if you do a bit of thinking and research. It’s worked quite well for me personally, I win most 1 v 1 fights, even against d/d/ eles. A random guardian gave me a good run the other day though… but we got interrupted so who knows who would have won.

Magic Find does make a difference, I made a crappy green set of pure magic find with pirate runes for dirt cheap, I find random yellows quite frequently and sometimes even exotics, while I have some guildmates who don’t have a MF set complain that they never find a yellow. Spend 50 silver for a set of greens and the runes, farm with that.

I can think of a much better solution along this line of thinking with example.

Say your thinking about how to get people ascended weapons without either the ‘grind’ or RNG. Why not have a Class Achievement, for instance, ‘Use Confusing Images hitting 3 Vets and have it’s confusion land the killing blow on all 3’ can unlock you getting the Ascended Scepter for your Mesmer. It could be pretty tough, maybe you’ll even need to retrait for it and/or get help from friends. But with skill and knowledge you can do it. Reward that. You already did it for the shoes of the Mad King’s Armor set, why not for good stuff on a more regular basis?

Is there one out there? Every build tool I’ve come across has PvP gear locked in the equipment. I don’t expect them to put in all the wierd exotics with unsual stat groups, but something with “Cleric’s” level 80 exotic + the ascended stuff or whatnot would be nice. I would like to see what my full builds can possibly do by the numbers before I spend 20 gold or what not getting the gear for each one. It’s also annoying because I use Mad King runes which are not in PvP.

Basically this build stacks vuln and a little bit of confusion while immobilizing and dazing a lot. At first I don’t seem to do a lot of damage, but then those vulns start to stack up and during my Blurred Frenzy or Confusing Images my opponent gets Power Locked(applying more vuln) and two hits from Mantra of Pain, a good spike that if they don’t heal or run their going to die soon and sometimes the heal kills them from the confusion.

Group combat with Sword/Torch is much faster and better then Greatsword or Staff, you can leap in, get vulns on, flurry, presitige, recharge mantras or cast mage, leap again, vuln, flurry ext. With Toughness, Healing and near infinite regen, protection every 15 seconds, healing when you recharge a mantra, you’re actually quite tanky and stuff dies. If you need to back off you can Presitige/Mass Invis, switch to scepter/sword, send your Swordsman in, Confusing Images, heal/recharge mantras(which heals more), counter a couple hits, switch back and leap back in.

It’s a complex and dizzying build but since it’s very different and unexpected I find it quite fun.

Ouch this was my elite of choice, people liked me in their party just for that, my build was based on using it and One Hand sword to stack Vuln and remove buffs… now it’s kinda pathetic.

Our stealth gets nerfed more making Mass Invisibility worse(good for WvW), so both our best elites just got ruined pretty hard. Moa doesn’t help in a class that can hardly DPS anyhow, especially if they aren’t attacking. The only buff I got personally was Confusing Images(scepter) hitting things between me and my target, while decent, this hardly makes up for it.

Man… I might have to start using my Asura Golems again… this sucks.

I know I should have ground it out with pubs, but I kindly waited on my friends to do fractal runs with, with 1 level left to do(pubs kept giving up). Only to discover that today… still January in the US on a US server, is now apparently February. Seriously? I mean I could understand if it was set to eastern standard time, but GMT? At least maybe put a message somewhere in the daily/monthly page that rollover is then, or like some games actually so the time/date stamp in the top right corner all tiny(Also helps organizing events with people that are far away). So close, all that work for nothing…
