The “burst the pet”strat is exactly why I love using jaguars, a lot of people mistake the stealth with a swap lol, pair it with a bear or drake or some other fat tanky pet to soak hits and not worry about needing CDs and you’re guaranteed a short swap.
As their mother, I have to grant them their wish. – Forever Fyonna
So what if I run a bunker / sustain build.
You can’t adjust (nerf) classes to fix mediocrity!
Yes yes you can if you run a cheese build that’s only goal is to bunker and it has to to have a trade off. That’s why anet got rid of celestial, and all healing/toughness combos in PvP because it created a very stale passive environment that’s not skill it’s just let me just sit like a bot.
Now it’s much more in line you have to trade deeps for heals and time your heal bursts better instead of just spamming a jail out of free card every 10 secs.
If you want to bunker and run around running from everything feel free but there should be a very clear trade off like you can’t kill anything. That is balance.
You want deeps well you loose sustain. Good looks anet hope y’all keep forcing druid to be a support role and ranger to be a better deeps +1 roll
^ this is what I’ve been saying since forever.
Also I think you mistook my sarcastic comment in my last post as being serious given your post directed towards it xD

We needed HoT specs tuned down.
Not vanillas tuned up.
This will only lead to inevitable power creep.
Have you looked at the skills that were buffed? They were things like “you get fury and immunity to blind 40s CD.”, or 3/4s cast 3s immob on a 30s CD AND you lose 180 condi damage.
They buffed trash moves, and also nerfed elite specs a bit.
As their mother, I have to grant them their wish. – Forever Fyonna
Remember when d/d ele was considered op? Now they’re specifically trying to give dagger buffs.
Remember when d/d ele was nerfed before Hot even launched? Also remember how Celestial amulet was thing back then too?
but hey I’m sure the power creep from these OP offhand Axe warriors, shield engis, and Axe necros is going to break the game.
Care to account for why reducing skill cd is the new solution to most balance problems? Do even recall when they just made traits baseline which reduced skill cd’s by 20%? That was the beginning of this horrid trend and was a very bad decision.
Probably because some skills have absurdly high CDs for what they do, EX: before HoT Search and Rescue was a 180s CD that made your pet run to a downed ally and start rezzing them at half the speed of a player.
But you know, that should’ve been baseline for utility power, better nerf everything used down to that level of effectiveness so we can avoid power creep!
As their mother, I have to grant them their wish. – Forever Fyonna
If you take the trait SoTP is at a 60s CD, they nerfed SoTP and WHAO because of how they perform at their absolute max efficiency (which was broken, I used it regularly), and SOTP isn’t bad with the CD increase either, it’s just annoying since it used to be 60(48)S CD instead of 75(60)

Question for those good with all professions:
From what I can gather, everyone is pretty grumpy about this patch. If everyone got slightly nerfed I’m happier with how things are going. Is that accurate?
I am sort of shocked adrenal health berserkers didn’t get toned down a bit though. Those things are ridiculously cheesey and annoying. They’re like a more passive version of gs/staff druid.
This seems about accurate with the exception of thief who I believe was mostly buffed, although not in anything that they already use (so opened up more options like our SB and WH buffs)
As their mother, I have to grant them their wish. – Forever Fyonna
Then take a break dude.
But I’m having lots of fun dropping druid and taking marksmanship and just wailing on people with my unlockable pet and mualing foos for days with my GS
(My only request is that they buff core rangers ablity to cleanse and reverse the skill 2 on sword)
TY a net I’m already seeing less of the staff then run away campers
We actually have a decent amount of condi cleanse baseline, it’s just all at a cost..
As their mother, I have to grant them their wish. – Forever Fyonna
Hahaha I’m glad about the CA nerf. I loved and mained ranger from launch. And having 10 CD for cleanse daze heal stealth is broke as hell. Glad they nerfed it, with the cotw buff screw taking druid.
My only request now is for us to get a reliable base line cleanse for the Condi bomb meta. Other than that man been eating revs, guards, eles, and warriors all day.
Adapt foos stop QQing over it 15 sec cd is a good thing
But this requires people to not use the elite spec which MUST be better than base ranger because it has elite in the name.
Being someone who absolutely loves being a Druid (and fully embraces the bunkery support role), having kitten longer CD does suck, but it’s manageable, I just dislike that they made it a longer CD and nerfed the healing for specs that have 1200+ healing power, but w/e.
As their mother, I have to grant them their wish. – Forever Fyonna
Ohhhh. Interesting.
A way to get through mesmer, rev, warrior and DH blocks could be very good. Especially since those builds were barely touched.
And those builds rely almost solely on blocks to stay alive.

I’m really annoyed after this update. The viper condi (axe/torch-shortbow for example) is now completely useless for raids. Of course, if you are full heal everything is going to be more smooth in raids, but if I compare the damage output to a viper-necro a viper-ranger becomes quite useless with the nerfed healing (patch has reduced the base healing power, but increased healing-power contribution, that is only good for full heal).
Not enough damage in comparison to other condis and now also not enough healing to give groups a reason to choose a viper-druid.
It’s so sad, after years the ranger finally had a few builds the people really wanted in their groups and now there stays again only one functionality, the healer. Great. (kitten , viperranger was so fun to play…WHYYYYYYY????)
Of course I’m not a pro and there might be other ways for the ranger but I don’t see it in raids right now.
I dream of a great beastmaster-elite spec. Something that really only a ranger-profession can provide. Maybe more pets at once with stampedes as skill, more mighty boons over F2 for groups and so on….well, wouldn’t that be great to finally really have a beastmaster? :-)
Our condi damage is top of the class when you drop Druid, going condi on Druid is more to bring some off healing + GotL buff while not forfeiting all your damage.
Also, a beast master elite spec with “minions” (pets) would be my dream.

A lot of people asked for a support ranger that utilizes a staff, it was actually one of THE most asked for things on the forums, and then it happened, so try again.
Things that happened in your head didn’t actually happen in real life, you know that right?

We should get an entirely new elite spec, nobody asked for this poorly designed wow player bait bullkitten.
A lot of people asked for a support ranger that utilizes a staff, it was actually one of THE most asked for things on the forums, and then it happened, so try again.
Either way, everyone’s going to be getting new elite specs in the future, that’s why there’s the special “elite spec” slot in the trait tab.
@OP: well short now and WH just got some REALLY nice buffs, and from anet said last balance patch they plan on buffing base pets more as well, so we should be in pretty good shape in no time…. and by no time I mean like 20 years.

25 might, pulsing stability, fury, swiftness, and regen,

Sad part is, bad players who still struggle vs. Ranger/Druid will continue to post and ask for nerfs.
Well clearly anet doesn’t listen to them, otherwise dragon hunter would’ve been nerfed so hard it would cease to be a spec.
As their mother, I have to grant them their wish. – Forever Fyonna
Probably because it was a 48s CD that gave us and our pet 25 might, pulsing stability, fury, swiftness, and regen, it was pretty kittening strong. Wasn’t really expecting the nerf, but I’m not too surprised it was nerfed.

Has anyone checked to see if the Call of the Wild buff (which is very sexy), also applies to the pet swap trait in marksman that casts Call of the Wild?
Also, those shortbow changes are going to be brutal since you can now immob someone, get behind them and crip shot to immob longer, and then stun them, etc to maintain a lot of damage and control instead of just having to center your entire build and utilities around having enough immobs to hold them down so you can deal damage.

- We really don’t care about PvP or WvW druids, in fact they were pretty bunker anyway…so no loss no gain!
Yeah this only hurts players that weren’t running the boring bunker meta. They are taking our strongest build (the one everyone on the PvP and WvW forums have kittening about for months) and making it the only real option. Good old anet logic….
Zerker ranger works well in PvP too, it’s just not as mindless, and thus not as popular.
Yeah but zerker druid, the one that takes skill to play, is the one being nerfed. Menders will be the same or possibly stronger. That’s the problem with this.
I said zerker ranger, not Druid

If you’re moving in the direction of making solo/duo ques stick, it would be great to offer players that want tactically rich team-based PvP another outlet. I suggest a major rework of the mechanics in Stronghold (to be more like GW1 GvG) and making it 6v6. Then Conquest will be akin to Random Arenas in GW1 and people who enjoy teamplay will have something to work with.
This, all of this

If they do so, that might mean that they need to add more amulets with healing power.
^ This, they also need to look at bringing more stat combinations to PvE. other than zealots, which brings no ferocity, there are no other good dps options for a healing power druid. If left this way we’ll have to go back to mix n matching gear to get the right stat combo’s to both deal damage and bring healing.
This, give me that kittening sage amulet and Menders amulet statlines in PvE, sick of having to run Magis so I can actually heal without selling my soul to the devil for Zealots.

is this nerf for pvp too or just pve and wvw ?
This shouldn’t affect the meta PvP Druid build, hell, it might even buff it depending on how they alter the ratios (could also be a nerf if they fail to adjust the ratios enough though).

Definitely keep skirmishing in a condi build, especially with double axes. Trait for bleeds on crit + increased bleed dmg, because bleeding will be your main dmg source with the weapons you mentioned. This also means, you should use offensive condi/hybrid gear with precision and power, to make some use of the decent physical dmg of offhand axe. Viper is the best dps condi gear, but sinister or rampager can work too as easier to get alternatives.
As utilities i would take traps and eventually sharpening stone. As traitlines I’d recommend SK + WS and either BM or Druid. NM does not much for a condi build.
Adding to your post,
BM will give you more damage than Druid will and will makes your Axe even better at AoE damage and give it a little bit more power damage due to the ferocity, and will up your pets overall usefulness.
However, Druid will give you some support and utility, so if you’re trying to round your build out and not go full damage it’s a good option to take, and if you’re condi you won’t lose out on too much damage by being in the avatar state due to your condos still ticking.
And I would definitely run traps if you’re doing double Axe since your 4 is a 100% combo finisher that’ll hit everyone in a line twice (so 2 stacks of burn through flam trap), it’ll add some AoE condi application to WD, and your trained 3 skill (the AoE explosion will add finisher conditions to everyone hit). It’ll also apply to the 1 and 2 skill, but it’s not 100%.
Tbh, I don’t know if I’d even take sharpening stone with dual axes, you might gain more from taking spike trap for some CC and if you take Druid you would absolutely want to trade SS for either the daze glyph, damage boost glyph (probably best option for PvE), or the condi glyph.

Who in their sane mind would go to HoT with a carrion devourer as pets.. WHO!!!!
I’d do it… to be honest I have done it… the carrion devourer is one of my favourit pet… Sorry…
Devourers used to be one of the best pets pre-HoT for PvE. They’re still alright. Not the best, but the judgey ones would still have hated you either way.
If there’s ever an update that normalizes pets and legitimately fixes the powercreep from HoT pets (Bristleback and Smokescale), the sheer variety of pets we’d see used would be awesome.
(And by fix, I mean make all pets as viable as these two.
Plz do not nerf Smokescale and Bristleback. This would result in a profound sadness and the primordial anger of many rangers.)
Best pets for PvE? Best in what way?
A ranger with a devoured was capable of soloing literally any and all content in the game (including dungeons) eventually though they dropped the nerf hammer upon the devourer and left it in a sorta useless Smiters Boon state

I personally am still expecting Bunny Thumper to be our next elite spec due to the popularity, and the fact tons of people have wanted Bunny thumper in GW2, and that the whole aspect thing would be AMAZING with a 2 handed hammer.
MH dagger would be cool I guess, but I swear they better not waste aspects on it.

Being able to heal your pet does not constitute it benefiting from druid, Lazze. The only trait in Druid that affects the pet is the one that makes you and the pet burst heals out whenever you use a heal skill, and that’s not so much “affects the pet” as it is “oh yeah, and there’s a pet here too”. Staff doesn’t have any skills that affect what the pet does, and the glyphs don’t either. The Pet was completely unchanged by druid so that they could tack on something new.
The worst part about druid to me is that it’s not even useful outside of raids. In open world PvE, the pet doesn’t take enough damage to justify popping over into a pure healer setup to heal it. In dungeons, a good team has self-sufficient individual members. In Fractals, there’s a bit of use on the very high end, but by that point, once again, your party should be largely self sufficient. Druid was built for raids, which are only played by a fraction of the people in the game at best. the only other place that Druid is useful is PvP, where it’s used as a bunker setup; can’t even handle burst because it’s a bunker that relies on being able to heal damage it takes rather than negating damage in the first place.
Druid does not help the pet. It does not make us a better pet class. It makes us a healer that has a pet. For the pet class, and with the idea that our profession mechanic should have been changed with the elite spec (which is what the Devs said they’re supposed to do), we should have seen some change, and we didn’t.
I play ranger because I want to be a beast master, but that’s not really a thing that’s been made available in the game.
Ive been playing as a pure healing ranger for as long as the game has been out, trust me, these forums know all to well about me advocating it’s viability long before Druid was even conceived as an elite spec idea.
Being a “healer” is always useful in high end fractals, especially nowadays, and in open worlds because when you’re a healer you’re a tanky mother kittener whose going to need to take a significant amount of punishment before you break to the enemy, and that allows you to run pets like cats, with little to fear about their well being and inherent squishyness because you’re keeping them alive. That was kind of the idea behind bunker ranger back in the day too.
Druid has a lot of synergy with the pet because of the inherent flaws healers have to their kits, they’re generally tanky and provide support and buffs, and excel in group situations but normally suck alone. But being a ranger, and thus having a pet, we ALWAYS have something to buff, and something to take advantage of us locking down an enemy. The only reason Bristleback and Smokescales are able to be run in sPvP is because the Druid is capable of keeping them alive, because they’re really squishy pets (especially Bristleback).
Just because you want a true beast master doesn’t mean there’s no pet synergy in Druid, but you don’t need to like Druid, if I were you I’d hold out until “Bunny Thumper” or “Pack Hunter” inspired elite spec come in, those were two popular versions of GW1 ranger that utilized the pet a lot, and if/when are brought to GW2 would have tons of pet oriented things to synergies with.

I’d be willing to be that Ancient Seeds is going to get a cooldown nerf.
And then all Druid GMs can be useless.
Seriously though,
I would like to see Celestial Shadow increased to 4 seconds in duration and swapped with Lingering LightAnd for the poison traits in WS to be merged. If they create a Singal GM trait, the Master one could be something like using a heal skill grants x affect.
E.g. condition removal, pet revival, Boon application
How’s Grace of the Land useless? That’s a pretty massive damage buff for your team.

I have never seen a druid keep a teammate alive under a burst nor have i ever seen a druid survive a 3v1. A 2v1 maybe, depending on the dps the two enemies are packing.
I feeltm that the complaining about druid is mostly a solo q hero issue where people seem to get mad if they can’t solo something and win. Team wise? I find druid balanced.
I mean, I’ve survived a 3v1 as Druid for like 1-2min, but they were all absolutely terrible players who probably would’ve lost a 1v1 against my brown bear… but I feel like that’s the quality of most people complaining anyway.

If we get some more pet tweaks like last balance pass I’d be ecstatic. And I’m going to be amazed if Druid isn’t needed again, but please anet, make the astral wisp more interesting, maybe have it remove a specific condi or something on its travel path, or make it spin faster, or apply like a stack of poison idk.
I wish it would either:
Transfer conditions from touched allies to the circled enemy
or
Transfer boons from the circled enemy to touched allies.
Or deal damage to the enemy each time the wisp heals an ally (in addition to the first damage dealt).
Oh, and Glyph of Unity (non-celestial) desperately needs attention. At the very least, double the duration and go from there.
Glyph of unity really needs work outside of the avatar state, what would be cool is if condi damage also triggered it, or if you transfered condis from us to our afflicted victims like every 2-3 seconds or something.
Even the celestial version of Glyph of Unity is pitiful. It has a cheeky 1 second ICD, so you can’t even use it to burst heal allies up in times of need. The seed it drops from the verdant etching trait literally does more healing.
Omg… there really is an ICD… why? Why is there an ICD on this skill? The whole thing that would make it good is no ICD…

If you like the axe as a mainhand weapon and have issues rapidly pressing keys at a sustained pace, might I suggest trying condition ranger? If super duper top max dps is not your goal, condition builds are nice for stacking condis on the enemy, and then taking a slight breather as they tick away. With a power build, no key press = no dps.
Actually, this works the other way round.
Condition DPS is the complex one that has to keep track of all the cooldowns, especially the quick-draw proc, while power beats a lot from auto-attacks.Hmmh, but if you had “damage” while roaming and stuff in mind, yes, that’s true. Condis are slow early but then ramp up if the fight lasts longer, which makes them look “less DPS” where mobs are low on HP.
For elaboration, Condis have better DPS on champions and veterans, but less DPS on everyday mobs. Not sure how do they work for leveling. Never tried it, actually. Might be a nice and less dynamic alternative for the OP.
I’ve leveled condi on my Mesmer and engi and it seemed just as fast as with a power build, faster in areas that had sturdier mobs. Also due to the stat line condi gear is generally on makes you tankier too

Its still a pet class.
I agree wholeheartedly that there’s very little connection to the pets themselves and the pet system itself is completely bland and uninvolved, though. I loved the heck out of my Creature Handler back in Star Wars Galaxies. So much variety, having to actually go out and find the pets which were all randomly generated and the process of carefully taming them without getting eaten by their mothers, then actually training them as they grew, even being able to sell them… ‘twas amazing. GW2 doesn’t even compare.
It ain’t gonna change, though. System like that is too complicated for a game like this, especially to try and add in after the initial development phase when the engine is settled. Not to mention all the massive cries of Ranger favoritism that’d be going up if Anet dared to spend all the time needed to develop it. I’ve seen some people who already complain about Ranger’s getting new pets since other classes don’t get anything like that.
… now I want to go and check out SWGEmu again. See if they got Creature Handler working yet. If I only had the time to devote to an MMO like that nowadays.
A fellow CH, those were the days… I miss my Bantha combat pet + mount, he was fairly common but he was my first and favorite =(
@OP personally I’m a huge fan of the summoner archetype, where your pet is your main source of damage, and you CC it’s victim and buff your allies/your pet, but that’s an extremely Asian archetype, and it’s very rare to ever see that archetype in western games. I do think anet may do something close to that with a ranger elite spec though, especially if they bring in the pack hunter or bunny thumper.
As for going out and having the awesome taming and training experience found in other games? It won’t happen, that stuff has to be in the game from the getgo, and as cool as it would be to add, it wouldn’t be a smart use of resources for anet to try to rework a system that only one class will use.

Oh dear. This thread blew up.
First of all, thank you everyone for taking the time to reply! I was indeed wondering about whether axes and pets works for open world content but it’s good to know that if I would like to do instances then this build won’t go through very well. I looked at metabattle.com but most of the options were for druids.
One thing that would be great to know is the difficulty of all these playstyles. I got a letter to enter the Ascalon dungeon but I’m afraid to do so as I don’t want to be that person pulling the whole group back.
I had a stroke some years ago and a number of TIA since then which effected my dexterity. I’m not the fastest peach in the patch and I click my skills so I’m not sure if there is any build that could be played well enough so that I wouldn’t be a hindrance to my team? Or should I stick to open world only?
I mean in all honesty double Axe isn’t BAD, and you could certainly run it in high end fractals and in PvP and still get to legend. The only place you may not be able to run them is raids, and that’s purely because most people want ONLY the metabattle builds, and that no one really wants a ranger, they only want Druid (even though ranger is either the highest or second highest in terms of condo damage). If you had a guild or a group of 10 friends to raid with I’m sure double Axe would do fine so long as it fit your build.
As their mother, I have to grant them their wish. – Forever Fyonna
Is it bad? I’m getting mixed feedback.
I joined the game 5 days ago. Picked a ranger and surprisingly enough double axes became my weapon of choice despite me initially wanting nothing to do with melee. Axes just turned out to be so much fun that I fell in love. Paired them with Beastmastery as a primary specialization. Resounding Timbre, Natural Healing and Honed Axes. We Heal As One, Protect Me, Sic ’Em, Search and Rescue (swapped for Signet of the Hunt depending on the situation) and Strength of the Pack.
I don’t like the other one-handed weapons or the short bow. Greatsword and longbow are fun but since I already have the close range AoE niche nailed down with the axes, I’m leaning towards the bow. Interested in staff whenever I can start training as a druid.
So far I had no issues with survivability with this set-up. I’m only wearing white vendor gear but have soloed both veterans and champions. The shouts give access to constant regeneration and swiftness.
Am I playing the class wrong?
I literally run Axe/Axe + Staff with full shouts in every game mode and have never had an issue with survivability, or group support, and when I have RaO running I actually have some nice damage.
As their mother, I have to grant them their wish. – Forever Fyonna
Obviously you’re not actually in avatar state for 90% of the fight, I was exaggerating because it might as well be 90%, with full alacrity you will only be out of avatar state for 3.33 repeating seconds, so yeah sure, zealots gear will probably be more damage for that tiny window and if you want to squeeze every ounce of damage out of your healer he should be in zealots.
But as tragic positive said, it’s negligeable, and even if you somehow managed to have 0 alacrity it’d still only be 10s of not being in healing and buffing mode.
As their mother, I have to grant them their wish. – Forever Fyonna
Just curious, since Druid generally hurts offensive builds more than it helps.
As long as you have the regen to power CA, things like stealth, superspeed, full condi clears, and even ancient seeds can really supercharge a full offense build.
Druid is usually a straight upgrade to any ranger build IMO, although I see where you’re coming from. There is a slight gray zone on the offensive side of things.
I guess it does provide a good amount of utility, when I go power ranger I tend to go full on kill mode, so Druid hampers that a bit lol.
As their mother, I have to grant them their wish. – Forever Fyonna
actually, what fluffball said is quite wrong to be honest here. Obviously interrupts are nice, but they are not what will help you kill an engi. what does help however, is retaliation. Luckily for druids, they can pressure twice as hard with retal because pet and person count separate. So get the retal into your rotation (CA2->CA3 or CA2->Staff3 and WHaO immediately after) and then just consistently pressure, it is up to you whether youz want to tank acid bomb damage for more retal damage or not.
As for dragonhunters, a druid should never die to them. against a menders dh you will lose the cap and not kill him ever, so its better to hold the cap as long as possible and then bounce (or call for help to kill). But i dont really know what youre doing or the situations your in, so cannot comment more
But then again I don’t have staff, I use LB/GS or LB/SW+D, and a power build not a bunker like the meta
Why run Druid then? Running as a ranger power build has worked wonders for me still in PvP, it’s good against a lot of the meta builds too.
Just curious, since Druid generally hurts offensive builds more than it helps.
As their mother, I have to grant them their wish. – Forever Fyonna
And I mean you COULD go zealots, but as I had to explain to my guild, you’ll likely be in the avatar state for 90% of the fight to maintain grace of the lands on the raid, which means you’ll be dealing 0 damage for most the fight and would mean you’d have 2 mostly wasted stats.
If you wanted some offense and didn’t care if healing was maxed so long as you have it, I believe shamans is also an option (should be vitality high condi, healing)
As their mother, I have to grant them their wish. – Forever Fyonna
If you run a bursty build that has a single interrupt you can murder a Druid with no issue, kitten I was picking them off mercilessly as a LB ranger, and thats hardly the only build that could do it.
Yeah…. only if they are noob and their pet is not nearby.
They run 2 offensive pets, how does it being nearby affect anything?
It puts enemy under great pressure not to mention rev dog has knockdown with like 10000 km range.
Have you ever played a glassy burst build before? They either have enough mobility where they get in burst and leave, or burst from far away. You literally kill them before the pet has long enough to pressure you, if you end up in a prolonged fight you kittened up and should retreate and try again later, or if it’s in a team fight you back out of the brawl and wait to dash back in and pick them off.

Wish a dev would comment on this to clarify, All these comments on here while I appreciate them are all speculation. Devs haven’t said anything about whether or not the achievements will remain or be removed in season 5, That’s what i’m trying to find out.
It won’t. You have until the 3rd to get the current backpack otherwise you’ll have to wait until they reveal the other method to obtain it. The current league is call the Year of Ascension. A year only has four seasons. After this season, it’ll have been about a year.
The links provided have been pretty clear but just in case…
If you can’t/don’t get the legendary if a specific year then there will be another way to obtain that specific backpack. I can’t go into any details on that, but you WILL be able to get previous years backpacks in some way.
So was Josh lying here?

Being able to get the backpack, and having to do something different to get the back pack are not the same thing. The post you quote gave direct quotes from a Dev blog saying that you’d be able to OBTAIN, or GET the backpack in the second year of PvP Leagues (which S5 would be the start of year 2), but through a different means.
Josh saying that the backpack is still obtainable does not change anything that the devs said previously.
To answer your question, no the year of Ascension achievements will not be available in S5, seeing as how it would be the start of year 2 achievements, but the backpack for S1 (the wings) will still be available.

They need to just give pets the pve treatment. Let them remain glassy so smart enemies can burst them down but give them that 90% damage reduction when they arent being targeted.
This would make us so much better in WvW

Can we adjust their HP to the power creep since HoT launched? They are dying soooooo fast in WvW.
Every pet minus bears, drakes, and pigs (I.E. The tank pets) die ridiculously quickly in WvW, Jaguar fairs the best out of the cats though purely because people won’t focus it while it’s stealthed, but it’ll still implode under AoEs like everything else.

I mean, sometimes people don’t run the meta build and don’t have WHaO or The trait, and sometimes people just don’t think about it because they think someone else will provide it or are worried to pop their heal shrugs
Personally, I’ll pop it even if I think my team will provide swiftness themselves, but there are some cases where I swap my build up so I’m running survival skills over shouts (like if I’m noticing there’s been 3 necros on every team for the past 6 games and I’m getting sick and tired of being flooded with condis every 2 seconds)

The problem with chronomancer is that the theme of the spec is “a better mesmer” you get faster CDs, you get clones back when you shatter, you get a multi block weapon + AoE stun and quickness out the kitten . And what do you give up? Nothing, literally nothing.
At least with Druid you give up a crap load of damage by taking it over something else
