The OP is myopic and the Devs did the right thing. Its not that ppl can’t handle a loss. What they won’t tolerate, and will leave a game over is to be essentially one shot or 2 shot and have no time to react.
It would not surprise me that that more dps nerfs are on the way. Then maybe they can look at the downed state for WVW.
Don’t listen to anyone? Good sound advice right? Other games did this and they took a nose dive in subs.
Better offer some constructive suggestions on how to tone down your class, or it will be done w/o your input.
Money talks and BS walks. A-Net is a company first and if this garbage is affecting their bottom line, which I’m pretty sure its getting to that point. They will be merciless.
This whole fiasco is really sad. Heard so many good things about this company, and after seeing SS of thief damage and the rendering issues in WVW, I have come to the conclusion that they made quite a few bad decisions.
Already went back to my old game. Hopefully, this will be sorted out.

You do realize that the above statement contradicts itself. However, I think I know what you are trying to say.
The only decent burst healing I have seen is with Staff #4. The problem is that it only useful for the Guardian. The only other thing I came across is using the elite book and its not necessary to stack heal power to get that group heal.
The poor scaling of healing power makes it inadequate for the burst and sustained damage in this game.
You know there is a problem when warriors are all using ranged weapons in WVW in zerg fights.
I suppose the devs belive that what we need is 20 coordinated guardians stacking heal power and dodge rolling at intervals. /sigh.

Its good to know the score before commenting, agree? I never stated anything about your build, got it? I was commenting on my own, which is stacked heal power to 1400.
There is no doubt that heal power has horrid scaling compared to other stats. IMO, its why WVW is a joke.
This GS nerf, a weapon that I don’t even use and their continued lack of response speaks volumes to me. It tells me that under no circumstance will I purchase any expansion nor purchase anymore jems.
Tested yesterday after I read this post. At 1400 healing power, which includes 30 points in Honor. VOR increased benefit from the tactic in Virtues was 219 vrs 191 w/o it. Its garbage.
Healing power with a symbol build is marginal, but it won’t save anyone in pvp. Dodge rolling gets increased benifit also, and may be our best healing ability. What a joke.
Its no wonder that I see all the warriors in pvp using a ranged weapon. Heal power is a joke when you see thieves burst damage exceed 8K and on some classes its much higher.
I almost run that exact build. I use 0/0/30/30/10. I really do like that blind in your build tho, but decided against it. Its probably the better pvp spec to deal with thieves.
I did run 0/0/20/30/20 and dropped it after I tested VOR improved benefit from the tactic. What a joke……passive heal went from 191 to 219 @ 1400 heal power and 30 in Honor. The increased boon duration is not worth the loss of AH.
So its safe to conclude that retaliation was not the impetus for the GS nerf? So was it the damage?
If the latter is true, then explain thief damage in this game. I’m having a hard time seeing the logic or balance across various build as they pertain to WVW and Sc builds.
You might be able to face tank a few instances, but try that with others and you will get 2 shot. Then look at the value of regen with heal power and tell me they are commensurate.
Yes, you can site a few places where its possible, and I agree its possible. Now try it in a few Inquisition runs. Specifically, eat the damage of the blue orbs while face tanking a boss.
For WVW, look at the damage of what some thief builds are doing and tell me that heal power scales as well or that the GS nerf was justified. Its certainly a conundrum from my perspective.
I think the best answer is that it all kind of adds up, but essentially there is no burst healing except for the Guardian with AH, especially with Staffs #4.
If you run full Cleric gear with ~1400 hp, and pick up the traits all Symbols Heal you can seen methods to keep regen up on your party. I use mace/sheild and staff. A better choice would be mace/focus and staff, but I use the former for different reasons.
Essentially, you use #3 on Staff to provide regen/condition removal on your front line. Toss your orb, #2. Dodge roll in if need be, switch to mace and lay down another light field with does the same as Staff and cycle through mace skills x2. Dodge roll out and repeat. Toss in Healing Breeze when needed and it works ok.
I run the Rune of Daiwya(sp), and it helps with regen. Others use Runes to prolong protection, both are good.
Bottom line……mitigation/regen in this game does not keep up with dps. Once ppl exhaust dodge rolls and all other forms of mitigation the party is over, no matter what spec you are.
Take a look at what happens in dungeons if you miss time a dodge roll, you eat a ton of damage. The paltry regen in this game is not a hard counter to that. Now imagine the same thing in WVW.
Burst damage far exceeds any for of healing and its why, IMO WVW is a bunch of ranged stand off Tauren Mill WOWesque sillyness.
Warhammers method, sad to say is better for zerg vrs zerg fighting.
Staff damage has never been that impressive to me, and with that said if you get agroo and lose aegis, there goes one of the ways to pump the damage up.
Nevertheless, I use it, but not as a means to do significant damage but as an additional support mechanism for grps I’m in.
How? I run full clerics set and run a spec of; 0/0/30/30/10. Use Altrustic Healing and All Symbols Healing tactics and it works out ~ok. My 2nd set of weapons is mace/sheild.
This gives me 2 means to cure conditions and heal ppl in grp with weapons selection alone. The boons that staff provides works in synergy with AH and can rapidly heal you as you channel it. However, despite this healing power scales poorly for other healing skills.
I was running 0/0/20/30/20 for the increased passive healing from resolve, but there is no doubt that AH is better for self survival. The trade off is decreased minimal decreased boon duration and the increased healing from resolve does not seem to be worth it.
I am really disappointed in the recent GS nerf, though I never used the weapon. Why? It further illustrates that beyond dps, this classes support mechanisms are not as solid as advertised.
The above is especially evident in zerg/zerg WVW. Healing power scales so poorly that its best use is in dodge rolling. I’m sorry, but that is a sad testiment. Essentially, when you have exhausted your ability to dodge and burn your Virtue of resolve your left with weak healing compared to dps in this game.
The combat mechanisms are “ok” for the tournament play, but with it comes to WVW, it falls flat and our passive healing with a clerics set demonstrates this.
This game is ok, but I don’t see me hanging around because support and mitigation is subpar. I don’t even think that replacing sheild with focus will help that much.
