New Allies: Mursaat

Did the Mursaat really do anything bad? Way I remember it, we removed them and opened the door for Primordius to release the titans (destroyers) into the world at the behest of Khilbron (who sank his kingdom into Zhaitan’s realm where he was turned into the Lich).

I think the Mursaat were actually good guys that went about it the wrong way.

I could see them aiding us after 250 years of rebuilding after their sounding defeat at the hands of the flameseeker prophecy. They’ve probably been struggling against Mordemoth’s influence ever since Khilbron betrayed us.

Channel Prince Rurick? Why would I want a skill that makes me bumrush mobs alone and die every five seconds?

Because Ritlock is a Charr… they wanted it for the irony not because it would necessarily be cool. Although, since Ritlock has Rurik’s sword it would make sense he learned how to channel the heroes of the mist through that connection.

Some people are missing something here.

We get new races in the game, not playable sure, what makes you think the next expansion won’t? How many expansions did WoW go through before introducing new races to play as??

Blood Elves/Dranaei were released in their first expansion Burning Crusade, but that doesn’t matter. This isn’t WoW.

No player housing.

Get a personal guild, now with a hall.

Yeah I thought of that too, but I think it’s fair to say there’s still no expansion to individual housing. The fact that a guild can have a single player is sort of a loophole, yes, but given that already individual vanity guilds are limited in what they can attain by the guild mission mechanics, I think it’s still a reasonable thing to say.

On top of this, a guild hall will probably take ridiculous amounts of grind to furnish compared to play housing could/should since, technically, a guild has up to 500 (is that right?) people adding to it’s form of currency.

Edited: I’m happy for a lot of what IS coming out though, and there’s always future expansions people.

Activity PARTICIPATION Not Win

Today, I tried Belcher’s Bluff because, hey, it’s the daily (I assume this is the goal of the new dailies, right? To get me to try new things?). Well, I lost (didn’t care about that) until I noticed I did not receive my credit for participating in the activity. I’m going to have to cry foul on that.

The daily is ‘Activity Participant’ not ‘Activity Victory’.

I spent the 5 silver on the stupid mug, I spent 10-15 minutes looking for someone to play with, I spent 3-5 minutes drinking up and down my health as my opponent did the same, I bloody PARTICIPATED. Why didn’t I get credit? I could understand being required to win at the stupid thing if it was under the PvP category since the activities are technically competitive play (least favorite type of gameplay for me in every MMO I’ve ever tried) but they aren’t.

Well, never doing Belcher’s Bluff again. I probably would have actually enjoyed it had it been a part of an event like Wintersday instead of some foolish ‘activity’ that PvEers can do as a poorly veiled form of PvP.

This on top of seeing fractals in PvE twice (on two separate days) sorta makes me side with the others who despise the new dailies. Especially since PvPers and WvWers are constantly defending it (FYI, you don’t spend a single copper to get your achievements done which you would have gotten through your NORMAL play anyway, PvEers are the only ones who cannot get theirs done through normal game play anymore on a consistent basis).

noob question about armour skins

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

It should be in your mail, and if you opened your mail it is on the character you opened the mail with. If it is no longer on that character, you should have it in your wardrobe (which for 1 transmutation stone you can change the looks of your armor).

Transmutation stones are given through map completion, personal story, and some more vague ways.

If you don’t have it on any of your characters, it isn’t in your wardrobe, and it isn’t in your mail you might consider contacting customer service.

New class or classes. Players coming back to try the new classes. Leveling new toons. Maybe in a new continent. But I doubt it’ll be a traditional expansion.

They might force us to buy the new classes instead.

Marvel Heroes Online does this with each new hero.

I sure hope not… the difference is Marvel Heroes is completely “free” if you want it to be. You download it for free, you play it for free, and you can even unlock those heroes for free (200-600 token grinding depending on the hero).

If they’re going to copy MHO they’d better have a viable alternative in game to earn that class at least a months worth of casual playing and maybe a weeks worth of grinding. However, if the class was locked behind gemstore AND an expansion came out to introduce lore for it I’d probably leave MMOs all together and never look back.

Level 80 Elementalist (made day of release). Had all the dye unlocked that I have now (missed out on a big unidentified dye sale). Deleted her because I wanted to go Vigil instead of Whispers on the Ele, made a warrior instead and found out how much harder leveling an Ele is when I went back to remake my ele.

I didn’t have ascended or exotics or anything like that (just greens/blues) because I deleted her about a month after release. I didn’t even know exotics existed since from level 1-80 (was exploring low level zones first to level, didn’t step foot in a dungeon) I had maybe one yellow drop (Seriously, RNG smells like manure in this game, yes yellows don’t drop till around 40 or something but I’d have preferred at least 10 in 40 levels since five levels later they’re mostly trash anyway).

I delete a lot though, none of my characters are two years old yet even though I started at the beginning (sorta wish B-Day was account based, not character based. At least until I heard what 2nd year presents were).

Kentaine.4692

Dailies aren’t based per account, everyone gets the same ones every day. It’s why on ‘win with guardian’ day in PvP you’ll see 6/10 people in the hot join PvP matches playing guardian.

I’ve tested this, my brother gets the same dailies as I do… every… single… day. If it were based on ‘max level’ character on my account he should be getting different ones and I shouldn’t be getting so many starter zone ones for PvE. What is based on level, is how many you have to work with. 1-10 (sorry you have to play PvE, PvP, and WvW to get your daily). 11-something you get to pick 2 from one and 1 from the others. Something-something you get the option of completing daily from one catagory. Something-80 you get to pick 3 from any of them, with the option of not doing 1.

The problem, and why I doubt any weapons will ever be proliferated to other classes, is that after GW1 ANET is a bit timid about releasing more skills. Apparently PvP is impossible to balance with PvE skills and they don’t have the drive to separate the two. Adding more weapon types, let alone granting existing types to other classes, gives them nightmares. Which is why, again, just make some Great Axe skins for Greatsword and it’ll be enough. Sure they may play like a great sword, but all your asking for is the aesthetic of how kitten your norn will look wielding one.

They’re definitely structured to encourage people to visit different content. I’ve spent more time in PvP in the last week than I have in the last two years and have hated every second of it. From not wanting to be there to putting up with pouty PvPers who decide to go AFK because they aren’t winning, from being horrible at it (yet trying as best as I can as a preferred PvEer) to being trash talked (and seeing others trash talked) and told to go back to PvE where no one gives a kitten.

Not surprisingly, I knew I would witness all of these things (the worst of human behavior in my opinion) from my past experience in PvP in other games and a large part of why I don’t PvP and why strictly PvEers stay away from them.

I hate PvP. I like the OPs suggestion. I agree with the first option more than the second, universal choices would be harder than ‘vistas’ too.

Saddly (given what happened with Traits) this is not going to change so I’ll suffer because I want the radiance armor set. There is only so much someone is willing to suffer though, and the Anet trends lately have been piling it up.

Better looking male medium armor

Posted by: Kentaine.4692

Kentaine.4692

Better looking medium in general… not just male. 75% of the sets are trench coats. Let’s extend this request actually. Better looking armor in general.

I’m still waiting for that form fitting, full coverage, light armor set (99% of light armor ‘pants’ on women are skirts, I’m wanting something sorta like the rogue set for Mesmers in GW1). On the flip side, I’m still wanting a set like zodiac that doesn’t cover me in a star suit under the armor (I’d be happy with more coverage too if it just showed skin) for heavy, medium, and light.

All in all, no more trench coats and no more skirts. I want my plate mail without a skirt to my knees, thank you very much. Also, busy does not equal better looking.

Alas, this point is moot because they’ve decided to focus on ‘outfits’ that look like armor instead of town clothes and actual armor sets.

New Dailies and random PvP

What did you expect would happen when Anet thought of a way to force us PvEers into a game mode we despise? Honestly, 2 fractals today left so many casual players scrambling for a quick way to finish their dailies without too much grief in the PvP worlds.

A fix you might want to support to maybe get your PvP back to how you like it: separating PvE into two groups as well (Explorable/Instance).

The New Dailies -- Feedback welcome

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Kentaine.4692

Kentaine.4692

After today I’m definitely on the ‘dislike’ side of the fence about the new dailies. Lately I’ve been staying in DR to do a lot of them (Kryta harvestors and- even though I am bad at it and have absolutely no interest to get better (sorry PvPers, thank the devs for guiding me to your play style because they think they know how I play)- PvP runs).

But TWO fractals BS? What the heck? If this had a remote chance of happening they should have lumped PvP and WvW together and only had two different branches to pick from. Or, better yet and more of a compromise with the players, have four:

PvP – Practice/Unranked/Ranked )like you have now) to complete
WvW – EotM or Eternal Battlegrounds (like you have now) to complete
PvE (Explorable) – events/harvesting/vistas/bosses/champs/etc…
PvE (Dungeons) – Fractals/Dungeons

Surprisingly Dungeon PvEers and Explorable PvEers are about as different as a WvWer is to a PvPer. I mean, WvW and PvP aren’t so incredibly different that they needed their own groups. I waited an hour for a LFG to post on the 1-10 fractals (since I’ve never even wanted to try them until today and now never will) and none popped up. Today I got harvester in Maguuma, capture a point in PvP, and capture a keep in WvW (which turned out to be my own world’s).

Sure, it’s gotten me to play more of PvP and realize how good they have it compared to casual PvEers (it’s going to take me a total of 40 days- 1 unranked match a day, maybe 2- to get the Balthazar back piece, took me six months to get the mats/gold for Dwayna’s) but that doesn’t mean I actually enjoy it. I usually die, since I’m no good and have no desire to get better since I can obviously get skins I want out of it in a much more reasonably ‘casual’ time frame.

Edit: I should note the real reason I don’t enjoy PvP – I don’t enjoy conflict with my fellow man/players. Ever, in real world or virtual world. PvP and WvW are geared to create that (obviously) when GW2’s PvE is geared to get rid of that (everyone can harvest from a node, everyone gets credits for kills they hit…)

Please remove rewards from training arena

in PvP

Posted by: Kentaine.4692

Kentaine.4692

Just means people like me, who are only in the training arena to slowly earn the rewards, will invade your ranked arenas, you know.

This way I, as a horrible PvPer, can get what I want without unbalancing your ranked ones because I just don’t care if I get better or not in PvP. It is painful enough that I have to step foot in the PvP zone if I want those armor sets and the balthazar back piece. I have never been on the winning team side, but I do tend to be first or second place among the losers. That’s good enough for me.

Not only that, but I do not want to be in matches that last the full 15 minutes or whatever. If they were only 5 minutes, that’d be different.

This is not about elitism, this is about fairness for all. It is not fair that those who do not lose have to wait for those who lose. As a matter of fact there are 3 minutes of wasting time during a whole run. I composed this message while i was waiting the whole time (during the 30 second breaks) and i even managed to get a 510 score.

If you die trying 3 times then the game should kick you from the mini game or something.

This is elitism, plain and simple. I am normally 1st or 2nd place on Bells and could care less about the time in between. It’s a limited time event, and it is being fair by giving everyone (even those not great at it) the opportunity to join in whenever they can.

What you’re proposing is not fair, it favors one side of the spectrum (those who can hit a key when the color is in the correct spot). Do you even know what fair means?

Maybe we’ll get to go into the underworld over Wintersday and save Rytlock? It could play into the theme of Grenth (the deity of the underworld since Dhuum was pushed out) finally making an appearance after nearly 250 years since he traditionally made an appearance with Dwayna in GW1 for Wintersday.

It would, I’m not much of a PvPer… but I would like to have a guild hall. First I’d like them to address the issues with Guild Banks. It’s annoying having to withdraw a stack just to stack items onto it.

The Guild aspect of Guild Wars seems to have been forgotten, or at least it has since Guild Bounties and missions were introduced. Much like fractals were forgotten before that and PvP before that. A lot of these areas, I feel, could be addressed with an Expansion since Living World does not seem to be able to do so.

I would be fine with a title track, since they have absolutely no value for in game progression, but AP does give rewards that others could be seen as ‘pay to win’ such as laurels and weapon/armor skins. Laurels buy everything from obsidian shards to S1 rewards.

It bugged me too, logging in and seeing the gem ratios were all the same. It should have been easy enough for you to buy ‘x’ amount of gems since the ratios were all the same instead of preset amounts.

PvP cannot be balanced unless you eliminate a lot more variables. 8 classes is too many, 1 would be ideal. 5-7 different weapon builds is too many, 1 would be ideal. Dozens of traits are too many, 1 would be ideal. Dozens of different armor types are too many, one would be ideal. Hundreds of different stat builds from armor are too many, one would be ideal.

Even then, a player’s actual skill at PvP could be tarnished by random lag spikes from their ISP. This is a baseless argument to limit PvE possibilities.

Seriously, you want AP to feel all elite and entitled? Do your dailies and play the game. Here’s a real gem card reward idea that makes a lot more sense.

Make the different amounts you pay give more than the one lower… Y’know. $5 for 400, $10 for 1000, $20 for 2400, $50 for 6200. Give a greater reason to spend more at one time, y’know like buying in bulk saves you money. This way you’re getting your ‘little extra’ for your money.

How do you deal with ingame stalkers?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Kentaine.4692

Kentaine.4692

If they’re stalking you outside of the game and onto public forums, such as FB, it is out of Arenanet’s hands. Take it up with FB and make appropriate steps at that point and in the future keep that information private. If your friends in the game can’t be satisfied by talking to you in the game and aren’t real-life friends then they probably aren’t really friends that should know the information anyway.

I only give out private information to people I’ve met several times in real life and feel comfortable with, you can’t get those interactions over the internet.

As it is, you should set FB so only friends/family (maybe even friends of friends/family) can see/contact your profile (it is possible if you can find the privacy links on FB). You may even need to get a new phone number/e-mail at this point too depending on what you decided to let FB make public knowledge.

Involving the law should be a last resort since there may be limitations as to what it can do since the offending party could easily be out of state or even the country. Law has very little power over online interactions for this reason, the government is just not equipped to deal with it and probably never will be with how fast technology grows.

Also, leaving the guild is a viable option as well. If the offending party is still in your guild, and your guild is doing nothing to stop it then the guild is not worth being in. There’s thousands of guilds out there to choose from, you don’t need to put up with cyber bullying.

Boot Requisition Order

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Kentaine.4692

Kentaine.4692

No, what they decided to do (and irk a lot of people who thought it was cool that they were getting armor for completing living story) was lock all the armor behind ridiculous farms. The boot requisition order is an RNG based drop (and I think a reward for an achievement? Not sure, I lost interest in the armor once they made it a grind) that just means now you can buy it for 1000 crests and 1 gold, it does not actually earn you boots.

Seriously, poor move on dev’s part to do that. Especially since people were annoyed already by the need to grin 1k badges per armor. The only thing they did right was let you get the shoulders each time you complete that story arc.

3 on dagger/dagger thief is better than Caithe’s 3… you stay in a tighter spot (evading) and hit more people.

I found her abilities underwhelming as well, especially compared to my own thief. No wonder they lost to Kralkatorikk. It had nothing to do with Thackery running to save his queen, he saw Caithe’s fighting skills and figured he’d die if he stayed. Don’t give me the ’she’s only 2 in this’ excuse either. She was obviously confident enough in her abilities to go raid an inquest base and not even hesitate that she and Faolin might actually end up just like the second born.

The only reason why I don’t like this cliff hanger is because I did not enjoy playing as Caithe. My theif was one of my less enjoyable professions that I got to 80, but even they would have been better in those fights than she was. Caithe felt as squishy as my Ele would have and Faolin and her army were about as useless as Trahearne.

I don’t look forward to the next release because I’ll have to play as her for at least one more mission. They should have wrapped all of her missions up in this release, that makes more sense to me. Also, boots should have been a reward as well and not tied to completing the achievement for going through the story. It annoys me that they did that again, forcing you to grind for the other pieces if you want them.

Grind the armor

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Kentaine.4692

Kentaine.4692

Wow… only reason I was considering to replay the living story sooner rather than later was the non-grind way of getting the armor skins. This is kinda bumming me out because I thought, for once, they did it right to have the armor skin as a reward for LS. There’s plenty of grind armor skins (every single dungeon skin/ascended skin) out there already, I didn’t care about the luminescent because they were grind. Why’d they make the non-luminescent ones a grind too?

Crest farming is a grind when they had a viable alternative to get them- repeating LS chapter which could be done a year from now like I was rereading one of my favorite books. It’s why I haven’t really gotten story achievements either, I just finished that book/watched that movie, why would I want to rewind it and watch it all over again? I stopped doing that when I was four years old.

I may still replay them after a while for kicks, but it would have been nice to get the skins too.

Yeah… I picked ’I’d like it if they made ‘some’ changes’ because I don’t like it but could if they fixed some of the glaring issues.

For instance meeting SP places before you can actually earn them (team or no team) and having to wait till 35 for the last utility and 40 for the elite. Also, not being able to toggle the PS off when exploring a map so you can have the compass guide you to unexplored/missed PoIs. Also the PS compass sends my Norn/Charr through level 40+ content to get to the level 20 story bits? What the kitten?

I can never use adrenaline (hammer) to hop from creature grouping to creature grouping because it starts decreasing the instant I kill the monster I’m fighting instead of the instant I’m actually out of combat (they over nerfed, like they always do. Instead they should have made it go away if I haven’t engaged another creature after 5 seconds). Can’t say if it’s the same issue with two bars of adrenaline since I’m not level whatever yet to find out.

Gw2 coming on Wiiu?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Kentaine.4692

Kentaine.4692

By raw numbers… Wii U ‘could’ squeak into minimum graphics on GW2 but raw numbers aren’t the entire story when you’re talking about playing games.

The Wii U reserves 1 GB of memory for the OS (a sad fact about a lot of console OS’s) when a PC uses 1-5 % of the 2 GB for its OS (10-50 MB of ram, insignificant to 2000 MB the game says it needs). Already the Wii U OS is reducing the 2 in the Wii U to 1 in reality.

Wii U processor is a 1.24 Ghz tri-core (roughly 3.72 Ghz total), GW2 requires a 2.0 Ghz dual core (roughly 4.0 Ghz total) so the processor isn’t up to snuff to actually handle it either (yes I know that multiple cores don’t actually double the power, there’s usually a little lost between one and the other).

About the only thing in the Wii U that could handle GW2, surprisingly, is its graphics card. 550 Mhz when the required minimum (according to lowest speed I could find on the suggested GeForce 7800) is 400 Mhz.

Saddly, the Wii U is held in a choke hold by its processor and memory. Graphics cards do not make a computer. Even if they’d put a Titan in the Wii U it wouldn’t handle GW2 because of its processor and RAM.

PS.
The 25 GB you’re quoting is the Wii U’s disc space not memory. Completely separate. GW2 (installation) requires 25 GB (yes I know consoles play off the disk not the hard drive but that would only further restrict the games capabilities by forcing such a large amount of information to be read by the Wii U’s DVD drive).

Commander Tag Refunds

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Kentaine.4692

Kentaine.4692

Yes, the reasoning was before the switching of colors would be for free but it is still sound reasoning.

1 tag before cost 100 gold
1 tag after costs 300 gold

You buy 4 tags, that’s 400 gold (you deserve a refund)
You buy 3 tags, that’s 300 gold (same as the new price)
You buy 2 tags, that’s 200 gold (that’s still less than the new system)

Essentially, you’re asking for a refund because something increased in price. I’ve worked retail, and we honored when things went down in price, but no one would ask for a refund because it grew more expensive. Look at it as if you saved 100 gold or didn’t lose any money. Those who bought 4 still paid 300 gold for their new commander tag as well since they only get a refund for every tag in excess of 3.

Where are the T6 mats?

1 laurel = 1 heavy crafting bag at the laurel vendor. Each heavy crafting bag has 3 t6 crafting materials in it. That’s typically where I get mine since I don’t have the time to go out and farm for them.

What do you mean saves bag space? One mystic forge salvage kit has 250 charges… that’s 2.5 gold with the Silver Salvage-o-matic… buy some mystic forge stones with your 500 gems and make several stacks of mystic forge salvage kits.

I dunno about you, but I reserve MFSKs for yellow or better and still haven’t burned through the first stack (1/10 I made) I gave to my warrior (I’m a casual player).

Signets

Why not ask those 5-sig warriors you dread so much if they would kindly switch to a banner or two as well during the duration of the dungeon instead of ask the devs to change how the signets work? I’m more than happy to switch if someone asks since I usually run PvE and generally forget that the signets only help me.

If they then refuse to switch is when I say the reaching for the horribly designed kick mechanic is justified.

Gems prices and current Gem store sale

Anymore, yes gems are expensive. Not even eight months ago you could get 100 gems for about four or five gold. Now you need 12 gold (approaching 13) for 100 gems. I remember thinking I’d actually earn some of the armor sets a few months back when 64 gold could earn me 800 gems… by the time I had 64 gold it only netted closer to 700 gems. So… sadly I’ve shelled out enough money to buy them instead because I want to save the gold I earn as a casual player to slowly buy mats for ascended back pieces. Luckily I haven’t spent more on the game in two years than a sub would have cost me, but I’ve heard of others who have.

Well, not really sadly- I edit- since it has been about the same (a little less) than a sub and I’m fine paying sub fees for games I enjoy. The F2P model downside is it is really easy to spend more than a 15$ sub if you aren’t careful.

Middle of the Black Citadel there’s people called Cultural Armorsmiths (icon is a blue version of the helmet for armorsmiths)… that’s where you’ll find that armor.

Maybe they’re referencing the poison risen hylek do? Not saying it needs a nerf… since I’ve encountered and learned about it, but the first time I got out of a fight only to die a minute later was a shock because of how long the poison lasted compared to any poisons I could put on (hence why players need a buff).

Learning to avoid aggroing multiples, dodge or put obstacles between me and the hylek when they do the multi-shot poison darts greatly mitigates the effect.

Will we get a Heavy new class?

Probably not… or not any time soon.

I’m one who’d like another just so there’s three of each- I admit it isn’t really much of an argument for another but there it is.

As it stands… the armor classes pretty much cover every play style you could imagine. Though, it would be cool to see a heavy class that has perma-minions like the necros/engineers/rangers, but the mechanic to be ‘balanced’ for a heavy armor user with pets is already covered by engineers in that regard.

Foxfire Cluster drop rate

in Living World

Kentaine.4692

It probably hasn’t decreased because it’s an RNG based system. The general idea is that for every ‘x’ you get ‘y’ but since every single time you farm an ‘x’ you have the exact same percentage chance to get ‘y’. Like a coin toss. Every time it’s 50/50. But for the trees we’ll say it’s closer to 1/50 (since that’s the rate I’ve generally gotten them and managed to get 6 yesterday in my 3 hours of lumberjacking). This means you have a 2% chance each time you swing your axe to get one, but that is not always going to happen since there’s a 98% chance you won’t.

An RNG so close to 100% chance not to drop is why some people have farmed 300+ elder wood and haven’t seen a single foxfire. Now, with the thousands of people playing, it is also understandable to see people who have the opposite side of the luck spectrum, but for every 1 of them there’s probably 45-48 who get the actual ‘drop rate’ and 1-4 who never see any.

End of Epic Battles?

As cool as that would be, unfortunately as history has proved those massive events lose popularity by the end of the first week they’re out… which means to have this happen would probably kitten off a lot of casual players.

Locking the progression behind a massive raid style fight is really a problem when it comes to living story because it is a STORY first. You wouldn’t read a book if after a month it came out you could not get half a chapter any more because there wasn’t enough people interested in reading it anymore.

Adding a large raid to Dry Top… and a dungeon too… I can see them doing. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Mordremoth battle becomes a new Meta boss raid in Dry Top (or the dungeon and one of his Lieutenants becomes the boss raid) to be put into the cycle of the other ones in the world like the Claw of Jormag, Tequetal the Sunless, or the three wurms.

Why don't we have more GW1 skins?

There is one pair of pants for light armor… and it’s baggy. I have to vote for more GW1 armors, the Mesmer pants (rogue ideally to get that glossy sheen) would work a lot better for a melee elementalist than the baggy pants I’m stuck with now. GW2 light armor, otherwise, is all skirts and robes.

I also agree that, in general, the sets from GW1 were usually better looking than those in GW2 to the extent that I would be comfortable going with an entire set, though I’d still probably not. 10/10 sets in GW2 I find one part of the armor or another that just does not mesh with what I want to look like. Only 2-3 medium sets have a chest I like, I hate trench coats.

Game Updates: Wardrobe, Transmutation, Outfits

My Wardrobe/Transmutation/Outfit review:

I guess, overall, I would say I like the concept of the wardrobe change- being able to pick how I look from any armor I’ve unlocked across my account. I really love the account wide dyes, like they were originally intended, too. There are some glaring issues with it though:

The first is the much mentioned problem that you can no longer transfer sigils/runes from any gear safely (except through BL salvage kits if they aren’t Karma pieces).

Second- though a much lesser extent for me since I rarely used them- is the problem that town clothes seem to have virtually disappeared, and yes I know about the tonics and I’ve though tonics were completely useless since they were introduced in GW1 and still do.

Third, and the biggest for my play style, the cost to transmute (if you can still call it that since transmuting let you keep upgrades) is ridiculous. 1 charge for each piece of armor, and apparently you only get 5 charges total (from the city zones) because you no longer get them from exploring the wilderness zones like you did when the patch first went live six days ago (the last 7/7 non city zones I’ve explored since there was a patch or something around the weekend gave me a BLC key). I don’t mind getting more keys, especially since I did want some lovestruck skins but couldn’t justify buying them to get that many tickets, but not at the cost of my character customization.

Essentially, from level 1-79, it now costs three times as much to change your armor’s look- and that’s it, say goodbye to your upgrades- and you get a guaranteed 5/33 as many charges as you used to per character (there might still be a chance to get a charge from exploring a zone, I don’t know because like I said 7/7 have been a key instead, the zones I explored ranged from starter to level 75-80). I figured it would be fine when I explored a city zone and it gave me 1 charge, the equivalent to 3 stones, but apparently expecting that from ALL of the zones was me having too high of hopes for this game… again.

Looking at it another way, it now costs a crystal to change a level 1 gear into a level 10 gear when it used to only cost a stone. That’s a step backwards, three backwards when you realize you only swap out pictures but can’t exchange any stats.

I used to swap out armor styles every 10 levels, since I’d get plenty of stones as I went through and would even buy the crystals when I hit 80 if I hadn’t been lucky enough to get any, but now I feel like I’m stuck in some of the ugliest armors this game has to offer until 80 to ration my charges. This, coupled with the nerf of no trait experimentation until at least 60 (since you can’t experiment much with only 3), makes leveling alts incredibly depressing, boring, and slow. Grinding is why I stopped playing two months ago, hearing about these changes got me interested again but now it feels like even more of a grind than it used to because fundamental aspects of the game’s leveling system have been changed for the worse.
