not at all. MoC is fine as all of our dazes have cast times. LI needed a nerf because 6s was indeed too long, but 4s daze on a 0.5s cast is fine. there are so many blinds, blocks and invulns out there that soft CC like daze just doesn’t do that much.

This is the type of response I was hoping for. I hadn’t thought about all those things and didn’t know about the cast times. I thought the glyph was instant for some reason. Anyway, hopefully those factors will really help to balance things out. I guess we’ll see in less than 24 hours! Woot so hyped for HoT!

Not to be rude, but a lot of you seem over sensitive to the idea of nerfs. I wasn’t saying “OMG ranger so OP plz nerf”, but was just pointing out that on paper the dazes seem really strong and asking what you guys thought about their balance. Things don’t always work out as well in practice however and that’s why I asked for the opinion of those who had played the beta. I phrased the title as a question for a reason…

It’s called being objective and caring about the overall quality of the game. As much as I dislike nerfs, I dislike imbalance even more.

With all the dazes available to the druid, do you guys think the Moment of Clarity trait (100% daze duration) will see a nerf? As fun as it sounds to daze people to tears I’m not sure it’s the best thing for balance. Multiple 4 second dazes just seems a little ridiculous. I’m a ranger main and hate to see nerfs, but I feel the bonus daze duration is going to have to come down a bit. I didn’t play any beta though, so maybe someone with some hands on experience can chime in?

Hmm, thanks for the perspective guys. A lot of those issues sound very frustrating and make me hesitant to play a ranger. I think I will just try another class for now and will maybe revisit the ranger down the road. (especially if the druid turns out well)

Thanks for your reply Thz. Would you mind briefly explaining what you mean by the pet being frustrating? Like is the A.I. really poor or something? Or does it just die really easily?

I haven’t played in years and am returning to check out all I’ve missed to get ready for the expansion. I’m trying to decide what class I want to play and was initially drawn towards the ranger. Upon checking out their forums however I noticed quite a bit of negativity and frustration. I don’t really care about being OP or the FotM class, but I also don’t want a class that’s consistently weak and/or frustrating. What are the biggest issues with the ranger class and do you think it’s a good choice for someone starting anew? Thanks in advance for your advice!
