I’m left-handed, and since I’m playing on a laptop, the default key binds are a complete no-no. I used the layout in the link above as basis for my current lefty layout (centered around I-O-P for movement instead of W-E-R), and it’s much better.
How will this help since the game crashes on windows?
Gem store really doesn’t worth what they ask us to pay for. Somethings that could be usefull are overpriced, and others are just temporary (I hate pay real money for temporary things).
Yeah, I also hate buying food or going to the cinema, or even pay rent.
It’s weird how with virtual goods, if we buy something, we want to own it forever, while most things we spend money on in real life don’t really last for long.
I wouldn’t mind some more options in the gems store, more skins for armor etc. I guess things will come with time, but they are wasting potential revenue here. On the other hand, it’s a good sign that they are not purely focussing on adding stuff that creates revenue.
Its certainly not running on a separate server. Your machine can’t handle the OSX client (you are actually outside of the recommended specifications). Windows is a different story, both the OS and the game client are better optimized.
try killing the “cider” process, either using Activity Monitor or by opening a Terminal and typing “killall cider”
You can change the location the screenshots go to:

I don’t want to buy Windows, and more importantly, I don’t want to use Windows. I’m very happy that ArenaNet provides a Mac client, even if it is still beta, and even if it is wrapper based and not native.
I’ve mostly based Blizzard titles in the past. Note that, while Blizzard does provide native clients for OSX, they still tend to have lower performance than their Windows counter parts. So it’s not clear whether a native client is actually necessary, assuming that this is a possibility at all for GW2.
Not really. All Macs (actually, all laptops) get that hot when you game on them. It’s well within the specifications of the mobile CPUs.
Sometimes I have to kill cider to relaunch the game. However a restart should take care of this. Anyways, if you want to check, go to activity monitor and look for the “cider” process. Even easier, you can open a shell (Terminal) and type “killall cider”.
About 30 fps with low-mid settings (no reflections, low shadow, but AA is on)

Hiya,
First here are my system specs -
Macbook Pro 15", mid 2009
Processor 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB
Software OS X 10.8.2 (12C60)
Your machine is below the minimum system requirements, as listed here:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Running_the_game
I think that in particular the graphics card (shared memory!) is not up to the task
