Ok im sorry, have you read the patch notes for the other classes??? Mesmers are still in a very good spot and ANET is not screwing u guys more than any other. Just look at engineers, elem, who got jack kitten this patch.

Elementalists and engineers can still hit people standing at higher elevations – mesmers in an assault on a keep (ie. 90)% of WvW are about as much use as a screen door on a submarine. Basiclly they’ve been reduced to portal bots

Not every class should be good at everything. I don’t understand why people can’t understand this and rant-and-rave about it on the forums.

There is a function of the downed state where I spawn an additional downed clone. This clone can be picked up by other players to no positive result. All it does is distract my teammates attentions and keeps me more dead! the Deadest! the Mostest Dead of all!

I wonder if there is an advantage to this function that I am missing, or if I should start putting my voice in these forums to have this functionality changed.

How do others feel about this issue?

My daughter and I, during the big event yesterday, tried to raise a clone for a few seconds. I find them annoying on one hand.

Yet, ultimately, I kind of agree with it. If your downed state misdirects mobs, it should misdirect everyone. It makes a boat-load of sense.

I’d like to say on behalf of myself and my daughter, we had a great time on the event. We wish Day 1 wouldn’t have been bugged, but we put in 12-hours of fun over the weekend and enjoy the exotics and rares we got, especially the 20-slot bag…

They complained precursors are to rare, they made them more common, now they’re complaining they didn’t get any on a silver platter. Give them one on a silver platter, they’ll complain everyone has one…

Exactly. Very sad, too. Even worse, is they all pretend they’re ‘so mature and above it all…’ Right up until they throw the temper-tantrum.

Here’s the thing about hard core players; they will always speed through a game and burn out from lack of content, no matter how much the developer adds. That’s not to say that they won’t have any valid concerns or criticisms, but it happens with every single MMO ever released. I don’t think I’ve seen a game yet that didn’t have people on forums complaining of lack of end game.

I’ve experienced this in every MMO I’ve played a month or more. And it’s almost always a product of shallow, hurried game-play than the actual game itself.

Take this game. What kills me are the ones that get one character to 80 and declare there’s nothing left to do…

There are 15 racial story paths if you have no dupes (and you’ll need more characters if you do dupe any path) through level 30. Then there are 6 basic story paths (2 per order), plus 5 sub-racial paths with multiple paths, through the next 20ish levels if you don’t dupe paths. Then there are three arcs based on the results of a dialog choice, then we get to the 70’s where there are two basic-arcs.

Yes, there are key points in each story where the consolidate, but those are the minority of missions, not the majority.

But to think one character to 80 and you’ve ‘experienced what this game has to offer’ is just flat-out wrong and says far more about the complainant than the game. Because with one-play through you’ve barely scratched the surface of the story.

Not really Ele related, but definitely topping my list. If they aren’t going to fix it, they need to stop forcing everyone to play it.

Curious. What was broken about this?
I managed to get the kills registered on the achievement.

Not broken. Just not everyone is interested in WvWvW. Plus some servers still have huge queues making it difficult for those who can only play at peak times.

No more cooldown on attunement changing. If my engineer can swap a flamethrower for a mine-kit pretty much as fast as I hit #9, I don’t see why I can’t swap attunments pretty much as fast as I can hit F1, F2, F3, F4.

I’d also like an out-of-combat weapon swap. It’s annoying from an inventory management perspective when you’re swapping from two-to-one. More than once (while leveling up at least) I’ve sold something I shouldn’t have because it ended up in the ‘junk’ part of my inventory.

Last… The class just doesn’t make sense. The DPS doesn’t spike very much and isn’t that great on DoTs, either. Making it worse, is you can’t resist damage worth beans unless you completely cripple your DPS.

To make an elementalist that survives any realistic PvE situation… He can’t kill anything if he has a reasonable defense profile. If he can kill things, he can’t survive.

When I’m in Orr, if it’s a 5-to-1 PvE gang-bang, my Guardian has no trouble. My Ranger has no trouble. My Warrior has no trouble. My elementalist is going to die.

Even 1-on-1, when I’m playing the other three I don’t dread playing them. I know I can wade through most single-encounters quickly and efficiently. I know if I make a mistake and aggro too many, I can almost always work through situation.

But on my elementalist… It’s like “Oh, ****. I’m not with a zerg so I’m going to have to fight my way to the next safe are… I hope I can make it…”

Elementalists are easy to fix. Do it!

Sometimes I record sessions then go back and time fights… On average it takes close to 3x longer for my elementalist to take-down a single enemy than my warrior, guardian, ranger, etc…

What’s worse, is these other classes do perfectly fine with AoE, mocking the one thing elementalists seem to be built for, since the weapons they use have a HUGE damage arc to the enemies in front of them and it only takes a little bit of kiting to group all your enemies up… And this is regardless of the fact of their AoE melee attacks.

Beyond rebalancing the cool-downs and DPS, I think one thing that would be helpful is a bit-better AoE splash on the auto-attacks. Lightening is ok. But after than… Single point damage and it’s really weak… 300hp dps when a ranger of the same level will do 800hp dps to the same enemy with a great sword… And get a 100-Blades warrior… 3500K HP dps in just a few seconds to everything in front of him…

All while my elementalist goes ‘300 plink’ ‘300 plink’ ‘300 plink’ in earth or 500 plink 500 plink 500 plink in fire all to a single target…

It seriously frustrating…

I read articles like the one referenced above and I just shake my head… That alarmist article was written for sensationalism, not information or discussion.

OTOH, thanks for the 10K banned bots and bot-ban update. I’ve been noticing banned bots from many part of Aurora Glade. But Sparkfly Swamp (or whatever it’s called exactly) has been having some increases.

I think the suggestions of in game GMs with ban-power have merit.

No. It’s learn to play. Take 100 blades.

You’re almost certainly going to be dealing with a warrior who is doing the GS + Axe/something build (usually a shield for the bash or a second axe for whirling axe). He’ll leap at you after a wind-up animation (eviscerate skill), try for a shield-bash/whirling axe, then change to GS and try to 100 Blades you.

Knowing that Warriors are almost always run by noobs who excessively rely on this attack pattern… It’s easy to negate.

First of all, Have you even checked out the other class forums? Most of the whining is, “OMG why don’t we have speed boosts” or quality of life changes".

Naw. It’s much more than that.. Pretty much every profession forum is whining about something bad about their class, either about them being broken in some way (Guardian, Necro, Ele, Engi ) or too hard to play ( Necro, Ele, Engi, Mesmer ), or having too many trash options ( Necro, Engi, Warrior, Guardian).

Thieves and Rangers seem to be the only people who seem to actually enjoy their classes to some extent.

The only problem I have with my thief is that it is really susceptible to lag in the way I built and play it. Which is a problem of my own creation because I’m playing on a European server from a US location.

Sadly, this is a “Learn To Play” issue. HS and 100 Blades have huge tells. When you see them, you dodge. The thief runs out of initiative and the Warrior does no damage and is on cool-down.
