This seems more like OP spent a night searching on the forums for something that hadn’t been complained about.
The prices on cultural armor are just fine where they are. They are still prohibitively expensive for a large portion of the player base, especially when it comes to completing entire sets, or even the collection.
When things get so bad that the daily completion rewards are 50gold, then maybe it should be looked at.

You know, I never thought about that. Once a gold seller discovers DR, they must just close the game, uninstall, and move on to another game. wow. That’s genius!

Here in the real world: Gold sellers and bot makers are constantly updating their software to keep one step ahead of bot restrictions. Everyone talks about how Diminishing Returns has some mystery to it as to how it works, etc. I guarantee you that bot makers know exactly how it works, how long it takes to kick in, and how to circumvent it by using other maps. They have thousands of hours of data to look at to make adjustments to maximize the profit. They don’t even have to program their bot to look at evidence of DR. They simply time it to farm for x amount of time in one zone, then switch to another zone, and so on.

The only people that DR hurts is honest players who play in one zone for more than 45minutes or so.

The Dreamer was fine for a long time, but I don’t think there is a point in the games history where people weren’t whining about the sound it makes. So Anet keeps trying to fix it, and it keeps getting worse.
I’m tired of it being changed every time someone complains about it.
The sounds are fine, they do not need to be taken away, and there are people, such as myself, who have pointed out that a good compromise would be to have the horse sounds firing off randomly (once between every 5 to 10 shots). It would let the bow have it’s identifying sound, without making it annoyingly repetitive. However Anet’s only attempts to fix the issue have been the change the sound itself, which has had negative results.
I like the sounds, and I do not want them removed, however there are compromises that I feel are totally acceptable, it’s just that no-one seems to want to work on a compromise.

Changed characters to one that’s not done any Halloween content yet, and still experiencing DR in the Labyrinth. Not sure what to do.

I hate to bring up the old spectre of Diminishing Returns being broken, but.. yeah. This is a great spot for people to be testing this out.

For me, I farmed a little bit ago until I had about 250 ToT bags, and it seemed to take less time to obtain them, and on the very last event that I did I definitely got full karma credit for it.
The character I used was used in the lab yesterday, but hit DR, so I took her to Ember Bay and did dailies and all 5 hearts there. From there I didn’t log her in until tonight (after the patch) to run in the lab.
That being said, I do have some characters that need to have the DR cooled down, so I’ll test them out tomorrow.
It’s good that the DR has been removed, but it is annoying that some people seem to have it stuck to their characters. Especially after Anet has stated over the years that there is nothing wrong with DR.

I personally think that the “power creep” has put PvE in a generally good position. I’ve had a LOT of fun over the past year since getting specializations set up on my characters, etc. More fun that I’ve had in the 3 years previous to that.
With that said, I do appreciate the buff to the bosses in lab. about half an hour ago, I was leading in the lab and we had the classic zerg-wipe scenario of Viscount plus Horror, and it was an appropriately difficult fight, in my opinion. We had a couple who fell, but usually the downed were able to pop right back up due to guardians with reflect trait when they rez people, etc. It was a perfect level challenge for a zone that is just festival fun.
As for removing diminishing returns, I have long been against the use of DR in general in the game, so I sincerely hope this is not just a nice gesture, but that Anet is testing to see the kind of impact removing it has. This is the perfect place for it, because a large majority of the items gained are low value, or related to the festival specifically.
But yeah, I’ll say it. Thanks for turning that off.

Since it has the same stats as ascended, it’s not really usefull or needed, and why would you want it when you have all those outfits ? To show that you’ve raided your kitten off ?

In the looks department, it’s pretty awesome though, i grant you that. It’s even more impressive then any legendary weapon.

This is pretty much where I am.

I’m not a fan of raids, and the idea of grinding them for armor does not really appeal to me, especially since it’s the same stats as the ascended armor I’ve already crafted.

As far as looks go though, that seems to have been really well done, at least on the heavy armor. The idea of animated armor is a gem, and I hope that Anet can pull it off for all three classes or armor.

It will be neat to see it, but it is not something I’ll ever craft.

Exactly. Mechanics changed, people adapted, new builds evolved, and here we are.

The nerf to the amount of doors spawning directly affects the amount of loot that players obtain, which in turn affects the value of items in the economy, because, as they said, they aren’t touching that for a while.

I’ve usually bailed after a few tries, but I’m told once you get to a certain point, you can progress, with trials, to the end. I’m definitely going to give it a go!

I know we don’t agree on everything, but seriously, if you have an extra character slot and the experience scrolls, make a mesmer, boost him/her to 80, and then use the mesmer to do the Jumping Puzzle. If you drop in Mimic and Portal Entre/exuant what it does is gives you a “whoops” button.
Obviously if you fall to your death it isn’t going to work, but for those tricky jumps where you have a bit of a safety net, a portal is a wonderful thing, and you still have the opportunity to know that you accomplished it yourself.

I suggest you prepare yourself for two things.

1) Anet probably won’t do anything about it.
2) People here on the forum will vehemently defend the actions of the players in the video.

You live in a world where trolling/griefing is glorified and encouraged. Rewarded with popularity and on occasion financial gain.

So, over the years, it’s been pretty well justified by people as to why certain classes do not have a weapon swap option. The arguments for leaving things as they are make sense to me, and I’m not looking to change that.

What I’d like to see is an “out of combat” weapon swap ability for these classes.

Currently, GW2 can detect when you are out of combat and change the cooldown on swap to be instant, or, when in combat, make the cooldown be 10 seconds.

What I’m proposing is a cooldown “in combat” of infinite time (impossible to swap), and a standard “not in combat” cool down of 0 seconds.

Naysayers will skip most of this post and simply reply with “you can already do that through the equipment panel”, however this out of combat swapping would also resolve the issue of main-hand/off-hand weapons going back into inventory into the wrong bag, wrong spot, etc.

You do realize that John Smith has just set things up to allow Anet to never touch the economy again, right? Admitting that Anet had some fault in the matter was a drop in the ocean compared to blaming it on the players. Quite conveniently, from here on out, every time someone complains about the price on a given item, or a change in the pricing, Anet, along with a dozen or so people here on the forum that I could probably list by name, will jump up and say “It’s the players fault. Stop hoarding!”

People hoard items in this game because of Anet’s tendency to cause price spikes in things that are almost vendor value.
Anet has only themselves to blame for this tendency. I hoarded orbs for half a year when you could get Chrysocola for 2s 50c. Eventually it paid off. Same with +1 infusions (bought them months before the change), it paid off.
A number of people probably are hoarding mithril, though it’s not that good of an investment because the potential ROI (even if it went to 3silver each ore) doesn’t justify the amount of space it takes in your inventory/bank/etc. Still, people hoard these items because Anet has a history of making extreme changes resulting in profit for those who hoard.

Speaking of Mithril, it should be 100 ingots per mithrillium.

While the content of RP chat can be a problem, it supports the primary issue of emotes needing to be reworked.

A) Emotes need to not travel nearly as far.
B) The name of the person emoting needs to be interactive for reporting issues.

In the realm of RP, it would simply make it faster to click on a name and choose “report” if there was a content issue.
In trolling issues, it would make it worlds easier to be able to click in the name llililillllilliilllillilliii and report it, than trying to deal with whatever sequence of letters it actually is.

@OP: It takes a little more work, but it is entirely possible to follow a zerg without being part of the squad or in TS. Commanders will try and get around this by linking waypoints in squad chat, but unless they change borderlands/EB, it’s pretty easy to just wait a couple seconds to see where they went, and if you’re backline anyway, it doesn’t matter if you are running to catch up.

As for “the meta”, Druid may not be part of the zerg meta, but I see primarily Daredevils and Druids when it comes to roaming. Both are a challenge if played right.

Changing servers is an option, but it’s expensive, and can be difficult socially, so I wouldn’t suggest it. That being said it sounds like the commanders you have on your server are full of themselves and simply not decent people. You might look for a roaming guild and try roaming. 1v1 and 1v2 are not the most fun, but if you’re with a group of 5 or 6, you can actually get quite a lot done.

Overall, don’t drop your Druid because of some fool commander. Focus on following a zerg from the outside, use your longbow to pick off stragglers or flank the fights, etc. Good way to learn roaming too, because sometimes the stragglers fight back.

Daredevil/Daredevil or Daredevil/Druid are the duo combinations I’ve had the hardest time against (looking at how long I survive against them). 3rd would probably be Druid/Druid, but I’ve not seen that very often.

Daredevil/Druid duo, when played right is more like duo plus 1/2 due to the pet.

While I am adamantly against open world PvP/dueling/etc. in any form in the normal zones, this solution is only partially valid.

It should read as follows: “Yes, the Arena #2 guild hall upgrade lets you do more or less whatever you want within the arena, as long as you are not a Mesmer.”

(the old WvW bug where-in mesmer clones did not carry the world completion icon, allowing the main mesmer to easily be spotted, is present in the guild hall arenas).

Until Arenanet fixes this, it’s difficult to push the Arenas as a solution.

Anet should simply compromise and ditch the entire “in/out of combat system” and just give us all a set speed that is half way between the two.

• Certain NPCs can only be used the the player that spawned them — change those to windows (like the perma bank, which doesn’t create an NPC).
• Other objects can simply be given a lower priority than any other interact in the game — if they spawn accidentally or purposefully on a node, people would interact with the node first. The Bobblehead lab (or whatever) would be the thing that people have to struggle to use.

I’d rather prevent the issue than figure out who to punish (or what punishment is appropriate).

This would be the least complex way to resolve it, and would solve dozens of small problems at once.

Guys, don’t blow what she said out of context. Her post specifically mentions golem bankers, not the problem at Triple Trouble which has already been flagged up as an issue by the dev team.

The fact is that all these things are related to the core problem of interactable items being stacked. Whether it is a golem banker on top of a loot chest, a downed player on top of a dead NPC, or a hundred rocks on top of a critical event spawn location, it all boils down to a problem with stacked items.
It is discouraging and disappointing that the devs apparently feel that if they don’t personally see something as a problem, then it is not a problem. Gaile may play for “hours” on nights and weekends, but her experience has been quite different from mine. I see these “accidents” constantly.
Even if they truly are accidents, it still shows there is a problem that needs to be addressed.

In my experience as a thief, the hardest 2 classes to beat as a roamer right is the Soldier staff+lb druid by far, followed by condi chrono and DH. Condi chrono isn’t really a threat though as they cannot catch up to you if you choose to ignore them. The druid on the other hand, has a very high potential to burst you down due to might stacking and range with bristleback and smokescale bursts. DH is self explanatory.

Yes. Condi Chrono has a bit of trouble catching up to thiefs/DD, and, in my experience, “isn’t really a threat” is an understatement. My main strategy when I catch someone in WvW is to keep them occupied until someone with actual damage ability shows up.

More questions: It seems that the current meta for roaming is a couple people running daredevil. Seems that when I’m running around I mainly run into a duo like this when dealing with supply camps. One I can sometimes handle by basically annoying the heck out of them until they decide to leave the fight, but two and I’m pretty much toast (this would be on my built-to-annoy mesmer, whom I refer to as “wet noodle” due to her dps, or lack of).

So.. being at a bit of a stalemate (or loss) with these guys constantly… is there any point to even trying? I’ve tried Druid and DH, but I just do not have the experience with those classes in WvW. Is mesmer a case of “wrong class, don’t bother”?

you are never required to spend real money on the game, people who do know the risks if you’re trading for items, your item can be devalued a day later for some unadequately explored reason, I remember I got commander tag and endless halloween tonic when they were about $50 each, now endless halloween tonic is 1g at best and at some point ctags dropped to about $10 before the 300g patch iirc.

I hate to break it to you, but you aren’t required to spend money on stock in the real world either.

Commander has a right to require TS or dichord or whatever.

I’ve run into this a couple nights in a row now. After a certain time, my server finds itself lacking tags in E.B. Commanders who are on their way out, along with others, will ask someone to tag up and lead.

Besides a tag, what, within reason, is expected of someone who tags up in a situation like this?

Is there a “WvW Commander 101” somewhere?

I’ve seen a lot of complaints about Theives/Daredevils. I’ve been stomped many times by thieves/daredevils.

However, I’m not here to complain about it.

I’d like to know this: What’s the best class/build to hunt them with? Another thief/DD? What do I need to focus on to counter the common WvW builds?
