Hi Froacus.

The Scarecrow Ministry is an old guild consisting of a tight-knit community of players that have stuck together through WoW, SWTOR and now GW2. We operate under the mantra “casual but competent”, since we feel it describes us very well; we’re a mature bunch of people who wants to make the most out of our time. Thus we emphasize a strong community with a laid-back attitude that still gets “stuff done”.

We have never had drama (and we have no tolerance for drama), and we have only had one member quit in over a year; I think that speaks volumes of our stability. You can find our information below if it is of interest:

Server: EU-Desolation

Voice program: Mumble
Focus: PvX but primarily tPvP and WvW as we feel those are more long-term sustainable endeavours than PvE.

The Scarecrow Ministry is recruiting

Website & Forum: http://vii-guild.enjin.com/home
Server: Desolation EU.
Focus: Casual but Competent fun in tPvP, WvW, PvE.
Atmosphere: Laid-back, mature and fun while maintaining a high standard of gaming (because let’s face it, nobody likes being a glory-piñata that the other teams beat on).
Voice-communication: Mumble
Recruitment policy: We’re looking for people who can have a good time and contribute to our years-old strong community without making drama. We’re always remembering that behind ever character, there is a person. Hence we base our guild on socialization and respect.

Who are we?
A guild consisting of highly competent players hailing from games such as World of Warcraft and, most recently, SWTOR. Many of our members were within the top world and European segment through various expansions, most notably TBC, and we have consistently been amongst the best in SWTOR. Through it all we’ve always adhered to a simple philosophy of “casual but competent”. This means we’ll always optimize to make the most of our limited time, playing intelligently rather than spending hours beyond counting trying to bruteforce content. Throughout it all, we have never lost a core member and never had drama issues. We’re extremely proud of our community, and are looking forward to expanding it in Guild Wars 2.

What can we offer?

- A laid-back atmosphere in which every member is keenly aware that we’re all people; we have no drama, we have fun and we have a deeply-rooted respect for each other.
- No drama; we don’t want to spend precious time and energy dealing with dramaqueens.
- PvE Experience (WoW, RIFT, SWTOR, AION)
- PvP Experience (WoW, DAoC, RIFT, SWTOR, AION, WAR)
- WvWvW Experience (DAoC, WAR).
- Few rules; all we ask is that people do not make drama and treat each other as they’d like to be treated.

We’re a tight-knit group that has stuck together for a long time by now, feeling the desire to expand our community. We are willing to consider all shapes and sizes, as long as you, dear reader, are willing to join and contribute to the strengthening of our community.

We have always been of a competitive nature, and back during Vanilla WoW and TBC this resulted in us being amongst the top raiding guilds in Europe. However, time passes and we all have real life commitments. We have also grown to be more than just raiding partners, but instead actual friends. Hence we do not ask you to be online 24/7, nor do we ask you to sacrifice anything in your real life for our sake.

All we seek is to have a good time in a friendly, laid-back community that still maintains – and helps new players achieve – a ‘casual but competent’ approach to gaming, ensuring both a high quality in regards to community but also gaming itself.

If any of this sounds appealing to you and you wish to experience what GW2 has to offer in a great environment, we recommend you visit our website [ http://vii-guild.enjin.com/home ] and fill out an application. It only takes a few minutes, and it’s a good way of introducing yourself to us.

Sincerest,

Nimraphel

Authenticator Questions/Concerns [merged]

Having been forced to disable authentication due to receiving emails 1½ hours after requesting them… Is there a way we can re-enable authentication in the future? It frankly seems ridiculous that we’re forced to make an at this point irrevocable change for the worse to our account security in order to play the game.

Also, some clarification of this “new authentication method coming soon™” would be in order; does it require additional payment? What is the timeframe? Weeks, months? Right now alot of us have been forced to sacrifice security measures for usability; it only seems fair that we’re given information, seeing how your past track record for security is slightly sketchy.
