You wont out-sustain a good warrior on a power necro even with BB and cant burst them down before they bash your face in either.

I dont know of anything that cant hardcounter power necro nowadays. heck even pitiful DHs could do it.

Dont expect AH sustain to get axe’ed like BB, just roll condi and get busy corrupting

Thit should be an interesting discussion as I am also not a warrior main but I really enjoy playing both builds.

Also Both power and condition builds will differ depending on personal touch and prefrences on warrior

I believe it should be more in the power warrior’s favor since you can bypass shield and mace blocks and with stab you will negate lethal doses of confusion and could trade blows if they use a bow/sword on swap. GS3 is good to move out of their zerker’s flurry/scorched earth. The condi warrior still haz a deadly burst if they land a single combo when zerker mode/stace are not ready. Also going for more stab/stunbreaks makes the matchup even easier for power war.

For a team pick i would choose condizerker as it will generate kills faster in a team fight and will force cooldowns quicker from the other team in a big fight. Also it can easily overwhelm tempests and revs if you land your headbutt into mace burst skill as diamond skin cant clear a condi burst. The condi weapons a condi zerker chooses could help your teammates land their skills more reliably too with the single target lockdown cc and immobs. Problem with condizerker is that it is slow without traveler or warriors sprint and that it might not be able to afford picking signet of might to deal pesky mesmers and guards and fellow warriors. This is of course my personal perspective based on unranked and early season 2. I have been playing power war lately and i do enjoy it much more than condi.

No please we dont need a burn on chill. It would be begging for a nerf somewhere else and sigils and runes could make things worse with the burst damage burns could apply that isnt telegraphed well. Though it would be funny to watch revs explode with burns on top of everything else xD

I would take 2-3 bleeds/1-2 torment stacks instead and it fits the role of a debuffer better or having chill do a static low dmg ticks back

Most condi builds pre hot could still function with a proper support or opening. You could try

Old school Core condi necro still works well running spite curses and soul reaping, merc amulet, double geo/ whatever you prefer rest of sigil and runes. Your corruptions will do the work for you just keep your distance and set up your wurm well, transfer enemy condis and try to hit scepter 3 for added burst and weapon swap or shrouf in someones face. And you might not want to run triple signets.

Core burn guard is still amazing for bursting unaware targets down especially if someone condi covers your burn stacks but cant win most 1vs1s on its own

Core condi p/p engi still packs a punch but lacks defense and sustain to hold its own alone so pick your fights well if you use it

If you want to play power builds only core war and thief would hold its own vs elite specs. If you are skilled enough you could try burst mesmer and LB ranger but i would rule those two out since anything would kill em even retal damage xD

that warrior build does put a dent in the chrono meta build and so does other unpopular picks like s/d teef if you want to build to counter

while I was playing the spec. I did notice that warriors and S/D thieves were making life hell for me.

Even without the chill damage MediTrappers should be easier to deal with now for necros since true shot had its damage toned down

just dodge the spear pull and let rise trigger the traps.

How is that? As has been stated, there is no CD on this, and with the amount of chill application reaper has, you will have tons of bleed in no time. Any more stacks or duration would have made it more broken than it was. As it is now, you can stack this with Blood Bond for some nice synergy across trait lines.

Blood Bond? Why just, why would you use blood magic on a condi reaper?
It is not a matter of no cooldown or not, if you want to stack bleeds so much then might as well spam scepter 1-2 for a better ramp up and at a lower cost of cooldwons. No one should blow all their chill application for a small burst in bleeds that is achievable with added bonuses with scepter alone and comes with cover conditions. Besides now we are back to the easily cleansed 1 main damaging condition aka bleeds and its just 1 single stack. To follow up with the nerf to DS, RS skills got nerfed to boot and no one ever except a downed body stands on RS5+4. This “some nice synergy” doesnt exist in a meaningful way atm.

as it stands this GM trait is beaten by pretty much any on crit effect from sigils and minor traits. the only reason this would still be a pick is because there is just no other decent replacement

You wont seea viable power Necro in pvp with Revs, Eles, Mesmers and Druids around.

The class is still quite usable but not meta worthy and you could even stand to trait out of Reaper back to the old S/C/Sr.

I usually dont ask thieves on my team to switch unless the other team got double DH or double rev….that wont ever work unless they are bad

I try not to ask specifically thieves to switch since it sometimes backfires when the good one is the one to make the switch and/or what they switch to a class they are not proficient with.

I also understand that playing thief must be stressful with everything but reapers hardcountering them, teams nowadays not knowing how to play with a thief on board and having to deal with displeased teammates when they see you are a thief/warrior.

Just adapt, fight on and hope for the best

I remember the good times when CC was scarce and personal/team perma fury/swiftness/prot/high might needed good investment in runes traits and sigils and needed some work to maintain.

The Material needed for trailblazer is also more expensive than viper

I advice you suggest that he goes with a temporary cheap dire gear until he could obtain trailbalzers

Run Trailblazer armor and weapons with rabid/dire accessories as you see fit or depending on the pick between curses and spite.

you will need to make your own balance between condi dmg and duration as well

I was running my alt acc and was reminded of the DH and reaper spam in the lower 3 ranks. it was quite a relief to see stacked reaper and DH teams.

i solo/duo’ed from amber to almost finishing ruby quite fast. I think I had someone from the other team call double portal and 4 moas OP xD

just have the right comp, mindset, opening and focus fire in the team to make it a free win

dont let the sight of stacked necros put u down… most are terrible at it
reaper and dh will be over-represented for a while until the easy aoe dmg is touched.

You really really should not be any higher with the way you play right now. First thing you should learn is use proper hotkey control and stop clicking skills via mouse. Post an update once you achieved this and I will give further feedback. Not playing much mesmer though.

The person is suffering from an injury in their left hand and the build they are attempting to play requires more and quicker botton presses to generate lethal pressure.

Perhaps you could disregard the player’s mechanical skill in this case.

I used to be annoyed by the 4-5 necro teams back at sapphire and mid ruby but then the mes-2rev-ele-necro/scrapper/druid teams hit me way more often till finishing diamond and beyond…yeah now i’d really pay the other team to run a 4-5 necros comp.

you could snowball this matchup easily with the right comp/split at the start if your teammates are a bit competent, focus targets, rotate faster than the necros and of course communicate and be responsive in chat.

I prefer Rise!.

It is quite handy for triggering DH traps, Necro Marks, body blocking some projectiles, makes you take less hits from smoke assault and Unrelenting assault and PS from druids and revs.

if you see a mesmer assume it is condi and just roll a Mallyx Rev

Yes much better than season 1 where matches ended because of time running out and all the good ol bunker meta jazz with 20 min queues and mmr tanking and amber fishing

I had some unfair matches in ruby and sapphire but once i hit diamond and then legend my matches became really fun. Only problem is the queue time still. yeah s2 is an improvement from where I am standing.

Ruby in a lot of ways is the worst possible division. You have a lot of people who got there by grinding, but not can’t advanced because of the tier pip loss. You end up with a lot of bads there.

I strongly recommend you contact Donald Trump to build a wall between Ruby and Diamond. That may help.

It is a meh fair nerf….for PvP and WvW only.

My only complaint is that it is not helping Necromancers out in PvE where their condi damage is already lacking without gimmicks and power builds being quite weak still.

their balancing needs to be separate for the 3 game modes or else they wont get so far with reaching balance.

About Gravity Well, everyone seems to forget the damage of the skill comes from Power Block and keeping the target locked in place for a burst which CS can double up on.

Could this build be a thing in a raid setting? If so how would you build and play it?

I am interested in trying another build for my tempest and we are all aware that DPS Fresh Air Tempest currently is capable of doing top DPS but I want to have some variety with my Tempest.
