+1 Between all the nerfs and other professions overboosts, this just has no place balance wise. Bug or no bug, it worked fine from a balance point of view.

If your intend is purely to be able to scream ‘yay we fixed a true bug, we are true codemasters now’, right ok keep the bug fixed, but give thrill of the crime a new purpose, sometimes like if you do X, you get the boons (same duration), cooldown 15-20 seconds. Now that would be good management.

Keep it like this, and you basically trolled us. Yes it’s a bug fix. Yes it made a bad profession worse. That is childish trolling tbh anet. This is far from good business management.

Remember, CnD + backstab have been nerfed SEVERAL times. Now the new stronger meta is here those nerfs didn’t need to exist. Even they they were questionable, but you know ‘omg thief invisible, 10k backstab op, NERF PLOX’ decided otherwise.

Time for Anet to roll back the nerfs (wich they won’t do, they showed this kinda of irresponsibility to many times already, a nerf that was a mistake, they will never reset again to old status, cause that would be admitting a mistake – wich is a good sign of yoru personality – but they won’t. To scared I guess).

Dumping Druid for Tempest

Permanent regen is super easy on druid (resounding trimbre trait or healing sprint, or warhorn gives regen trait + weapon swap use call of wild trait).

I think nothing can beat astral avatar nr 3 with full healing power, unless i’m mistaken, someone did an 8000 heal on me with it.

And druid has +15% power AND condition damage boost to other players they heal. Something elementalist cannot really provide.

I’ve had a lot of tempest say the opposite ‘i like but but meh, i’m going revenant or warrior, or even druid’.

I think this is just one sided perspective. Also I could tell my guildie who loves her druid to play tempest, but she simply is very good with druid. She safe the raid quite many times with very responsive heals (nr 1+3 in caf form ranged exactly where it should be, not an easy thing, in all the chaos). It’s about being comfortable with a class and getting the best out of it also.

But I admit I left my druid after the Caf acquisition nerf (though that should not be an issue in raids, more so in pve, wich is why i left druid).

You need 700 magnetite shards for reasonable reward. Then 8 is crazy low. Honeslty even with the double gold gain, raids are by far the worst time investment to ‘get something cool’ in the game now. There’s other better ways atm.

RNG is the looser here. 2 people get ascended drop (yaaaaay). Others: ? Screw you, you will have to farm vale guardian 80 times (over 7 weeks cause cap), otherwise you wont get your ascended drop.

Since 200k win money is total waste of money (from business kinda of view), i for the first time i 3 years, closed my gw2 twitch channel. It was on for 3 years, often muted and not watching it, it was open for convenience. As a no vote to this money waste: I closed it. So from now on, 1 viewer less every pvp event.

Instead they should invest in a proper pvp team, that doesnt walk empty every 6 month because of leaving employee’s. The lack of dynamics and future vision is very clear for a post expansion era. It’s to fix that first (perhaps with the 200k of the next event spend on that rather then to waste of orange logo, tcg, etc. Always same ppl who win. Those guys don’t need more money.

Tooltips and a thief nerf

This is mostly a pve nerf. This was a nice party support, and good for some content wich requires swiftness. Gone now.

While from a bug point of view, this fix is correct.

From a gameplay point of view, this was absolutely not necessary, and killed a fun/viable (not ovepowered by a long shot) ‘tool’.

And this is what i hate about Anet: They nerf tools, (fun skills) rather then true overpowered skills.

PvP can get them money though, via sponsors and stuff. I mean I suppose raids could too but I don’t think people would be interested in competitive PvE raiding :p

Pvp can get 200 000$ or more sponsored money per tournement? don’t think so. Steve fowler is throwing with money in the hope it will create something that ‘later fix’ his debt issue, but the conclusion later will be that it’s wasted money, that should not have been spend on tournement (at least not that much).

I had 14 ascended armor chests in my bank. With the ‘change prefix’ of ascended gear change, and now HoT, I had a lot lf luck. My settlers armor boxes became usefull. Ascended gear wich I ignored mostly (just got a zerker set for medium armor, and since i love celestial i made that also, though it kinda sucks in raids now). But now i got a sinister (mostly payed for, but stil lworth it), maurader and assassin set. I can join raids with 3-5 character in ‘ascended now’.

But if you ask me, do you wanna make an armor now? Absolutely not. It’s way to expensive with the demand spike. And that is from a veteran player with enough time to grind gold a day. Say that i only had celestial armor now, i simply would NOT BE ABLE to play raids. Simple as that. Pretty sad isn’kitten

Now for a new or casual player, geez. The amount of effort, is crazy high. To high. Basically saying ‘you don’t get access to raids, sorry guys, unless you use your credit card’.

I’ll keep it short: Steve Fowlers decisions completely are the opposite of how I see Gw2 and what’s good about it. Hopefully someday he stops, or gets a call from the boss to finish what he’s doing. Steve fowler doesn’t know how to control a budget of money, and how to invest it properly. If he had a company of his own he would already be bankrupt because he gives more money out then he earns.

So Steve Fowler is behind all this? Good to know, who to focus my full disagreement with… So much waste of money. So much waste of a good game. So much waste of a good pvp mode with limited toxicity (ESL tournements create massive toxicity). Since HoT and last tournement, geez, the toxicity is so bad, I can’t believe it.

I really wonder, free to play (so more players, LESS INCOME), where does 200 000$ come from? On top of the income of Steve fowler and co, this seems likea huge money drain. 5000 HoT copy sales wasted forever on single tournement, and more are to come.

Say 10 tournements will come. That’s a waste of 50 000 HoT copies. But all this hype, camera’s, twitch, plain tickets, etc organization makes it much more expensive. I estimate 75000 HoT copies waste. Geez. And ‘this is only the start’.

Glad i still haven’t spend a gem on this game, seeing where the money is spend on. Not that it is highly likely, but if Anet even wanna see a chance for me to buy gems (or ultimate edition from expansion), The direction Steve fowler has turned gw2 into, will have to be reverted.

I thought Justin O’del was responsible for the premade vs solo queue mess, but seems he i’snt. Without him it’s even 3x as worse (was already 2-3x as bad as before all this mmr system implementation). So now it’s 10x as bad.

Protip: for once stop the ‘omg we gotta mega cool, kittenty expensive tournement viable’ nonsense (200k dollar tournement). Focus on making the gamemode FUN again. Fun attracts ppl, creates more hype. And might get you what you want. Enforcing it (tournements), doesn’t work. Aka work on queueing outside of pvp! Work on perhaps a solution for soloque. (I said solution, not that you have to make a solo queu mode again per se).

I dislike the 100% repping atitude, simply because it’s bad for PvX players. There’s no guild that will do perfect wvw raids, pve raids, pve fractals, pve open world bosses, and pvp at same time. Not even the best guilds can do that (but perhaps come close, with good performance on all these aspects).

Still the best case would be:

Pvp guild
Wvw guild
Pve guild (raids, fractals, open world boss)
Personal bank guild
Reserve slot, take what you want.

But currently: only one ‘PvX’ guild, but one that is by far not as efficient in doing the above listed aspects, as their respective ‘single aspect’ guild counterparts.

Does Sigil of Force work in shroud?

Sigils like Fire/Air work on bundles/kits (and shroud also) as long as the ‘weapon it’s overriding’ has it.

If you staff has force, dagger/warhorn both don’t then:

If you have staff while popping in DS, you will get +5% damage of the sigil of force.
If you use dagger/wh, then pop DS, you don’t get the bonus.

While pretty basic info, might be usefull still

Queuing Outside of HotM

There were a few reasons for keeping players in HotM when queued:

  • It forces new players to recognize they have completely different builds in PvP maps.
  • You won’t miss the match accept because of load screens and get dishonor.
  • We can make a better user experience (match accept and map voting) without having to worry about interrupting whatever a player might be doing elsewhere.

In order to allow queuing from outside HotM, we would need to change these things.

  • We would need tech to remove players temporarily from queue during load screens.
  • Create better tutorials or gating for new players so they don’t hop into PvP unprepared.
  • Revisit the way the match flow UI works.

Opposite effect as you wanted on me.

< Veteran PvX player. I love doing stuff in gw2. I hate waiting. In the past i could wvw, do another hotjoin pvp match, do pve farming, while waiting for queue. If i got interrupted, so be it. Sometimes my match was about to end (485 point on me or opposite team) and i got pulled out. While to bad i didn’t get rewards, no big deal, I knew this could happen when i press the ‘queue’ button.

While this certainly is not the only reason, it’s one of the major reasons i play pvp a lot less. Make the wait time sometime i can multitask (for do my daily achievement in pve/wvw) while I hit the queue button and I will be a lot more inclined to play pvp. But it’s not. And the queue are long. But in the past i couldnt care less about long queues, it would let me finish a match in hotjoin grab some reward then do a SoloQ run.

I know this now, but the technology exists (in dungeons) to leave after final boss is death and reward you the chest outside. I didn’t expect fractals to bug this way. It’s especially annoying with the colossus (giant), that bows before he leaves (takes a while to get reward there).

Would be nice to get Spirit shards after Masteries are maxed out. Or perhaps add a “Spirit shard” option below the groups of Masteries that would fill up just like Mastery bars. While selected this bar progresses toward earning a spirit shard just as previously. Masteries save the amount of progress made towards a level up and the Spirit shard bar could do the same, allowing us to switch to and from at will.

That way by default we will gain Mastery experience unless we specifically choose Spirit shards, but if for whichever reason Spirit shards are more desirable than Mastery exp we would be fully capable of choosing to earn Spirit shards instead.

I suggested this months ago (when they changes skill points to hero points), but Anet didnt listen. They ignored it. They will now too (sadly).

AF Generation with Update

Knowing Anet, in a hotfix in the next few days they remove AF generation on all forms of ‘hp regen’ (not just the boon). I already transferred my gear to another profession in anticipation (The launch nerfs were already bad). That, and that druid feels useless in Raids, GG anet.

Called it. Anet dissapointed me way to often in this manner (and without explanation or a proper fix), that I just KNEW they were gonna do it. I just knew it.

Wich is so sad. The day when first of all that you can almost be certain you predict something correct, and that it comes true like this. C’mon Anet…

Haha so predictabe. When regenerations (not just the boon) started to give Astral force, I KNEW it was gonna be ultra nerfed. I just knew it. And anet cannot nerf properly. They always nerf to hard. And often let it rot for a year in the ‘overnerfed’ status. I was playing 80% druid since HoT launch, but when they launch the ‘regenerations grant AF’ update, I instantly swapped my gear to another profession. And I was right to do so. It’s getting sad that I can even predict before a patch when to leave a profession, Anet. That’s how bad your nerfing is actually.

Problem is you are forced for an ‘elite guild’ or a ‘very skilled but friendly’ guild (crazy rare in my opinion, the first one is way more present and is bad).

My guild has some ppl leave, that promised to get back at HoT but didnt, others get sick, ppl that went from pve content to pvp etc. The end resulst is, the best ppl are almost all gone. We are to few to succesfully raid now, while be probably could with the best ppl of our earlier line-up of people.

Anet has given me two choices: Leave this guild (wich i have a lot of friends) and join Elite guild (or that rare ’friendly but skilled), or stay here. Either choice has a huge downside: never succesfully play raids. ( A big selling reason for HoT) or leave a lot of good friends goodbye.

I’m surprised Rising dusk wich is always critical about anet, is so 100% defending raids atm. This time he doesn’t leave even an inch open for discussion that MAYBE anet did some things wrong. Tbh that suprises me. I see only one reason why this could be: he’s (by luck in my opinion) already in an ‘elite pve guild’, has almost, or fully succesfully done a raid, and since he never experienced these issues, and like everyone still agrees raids should be hard, he’s protecting them without question now. Point made: join a full pug group (i know this isn’t intented, but still go ahead an do it rising dusk, I challenge you). I wanna know the amount of hp you killed after 4 mins passed by. Imagine those are your guildies. Choose: leave them in an unfriendly manner, or keep joining them with big chance to fail raids.

That is the issue with raids imo.

If guilds would stop the ‘represent or kick’ thingy it could improve. But now if you are a PvX player, finding correct guild is mission impossible. Not all guild do wvw (and wvw only guilds require represent). Not all guilds do wvw boss (most that do, require represent). Not all guilds do dungeons, fractals, raids. Those who do, most of time require represent. Not all guilds do pvp. Most that do require represent.

I’m a pvx player, and will always be. To be able to do a raid, i will not sacrafice my bonds to people that do wvw, pvp ,etc. And the issue is, Anet is indirectly forcing it on the player base (the guild leader themself also a bit guilty with represent enforcing).

A solution would be alliances.

Pvp guild + fractal guild + wvw guild + raids guild, all in alliance, you represent one, but can join any of their chats/events without the ‘represent or kick’ issue.

Mind you i was for 3 years in two guilds, that were very open and never did ‘represent or kick’. Suddenly HoT came and they both kicked me. The reason was: ‘sorry but HoT kinda forces our hand, we need more serious people these days’. This is where Anet is at fault.

No guild = no ts. No ts/guild = no raid. No raid = frustration. Rising Dusk/Anet clearly don’t see this issue.

I’m a fan of Dreamer. It took me years to get it, but darned if I’m not thrilled with it.

You missed when The Dreamer made an epic ‘projectile’ sound (like divine magic flowing to your target, like it was struck by an angel).

They now made it a pure unicorn shout. I’m still not ‘used’ to it.

Opinion of the new raid

Not really, for instance, full zerker revenant hits 3k with sword 1 to ‘thoughness mobs,’ 3500 to mediums, and 4500 to squishy’s. Only quickness (impossible odds) improves it. (This is with 16-25 might stacks and sigil of force). The boss is very likely thoughness. Wich means oh right: you only do 3k dps. If the boss punches you 3x it breaks your rotation. I tried druid, and even with celestial (30% heal boost about), i couldnt solo heal up the tank. Full zerker he dook 5k every 3 sec. Except for Avatar form, that cannot be kept up.

I’m not saying make the raids easier.

But atm i feel like trying to kill mai trinn, without anyone knowing the purple aoe makes her vulnerable. You can try, 1000x, trial and error so hard, but you won’t kill her if you don’t strip the invulnerability. I know the green spot mechanic, i know the agro mechanic. I know you need healers/dps’. Etc. I know all of that. But this info is not enough to even go further then 10% hp loss of the boss. Something doesn’t add up, and I hate it. Give me the mathematical proof why what happend to me is wrong and i’ll be way more happy, even if it means i still didn’t beat the raid.

Then either my guilds dps sucked crazy hardballs, or you need something like 12k dps (all 10 ppl) to kill the boss. Many zerker builds cannot sustain 10k damage ,if the does agro’s you (to much damage). The moment you dodge, the boss moves, then all melee damage is countered. So if you don’t have super ranged dps builds you loose to vale guardian? That’s how it feels at least. I don’t want an easy raid, but right now, it feels like ’you need 100k dps or you loose (and no build can do that). In other words: mission impossible.

Basically if this boss according to so many ’pro’s’ is easy, then the lead dps specs (sinister engie I think), should be able to do at LEAST 10% of the boss. Hell some ppl use 2-4 clerics and still win. That means, basically the lead dps (wich from what i read is about 19k), should do 14-18% down hp of the boss. Guess what, my engie wich is full sinister: I did 12k dps at least (sometimes my rotations got nuked due to to much agro, or moving to far to green circle, etc). All my allies also did damagE. Boss ended up 97% after 240 seconds. First of all, from the math above, my 12k dps (average) should have done about 6-7% of his hp down, then my allies, even if they were total crap, should have done also some damage. Didn’t happen, at all.

I want anet to release his hitpoints. So we can do the true math. Now you are just trying and trying, and in the end if one person is playing to safe with a low dps build, whole party is screwed, this shouldnt be the case. Some say it’s 12000 000 hp.

So every player must do 1,2m damage. Very funnely, that makes 2k (constant, no interference allowed) dps the necessity. Quite kitten low imo. If i can do 12k sinister, the boss should have melted, (but didn’t).

Even if it’s 20-30m hp, sometime feels mathematically wrong about this encouter (almost as though the boss has a heal mechanic, wich i think he doesn’t.)

Yesterday I used my brand new sinister build 12-16k dps build on the vale. He still had 97% health after the timer hit 6 min.

So even if EVery player has this huge dps, we still can’t make it? what is this bullkitten. Unless he has some hidden ‘self heal’ mechanic, this is just so wrong.

I got to last boss. It’s at least 3x as hard as during Beta (wich we already failed him with a tiny amount).

As a druid i feel i dont heal enough (the boss really does a lot of aoe’s from 2000-5000 damage even on tanky builds). As a dps druid i feel damage lacks (we ended up only removing 5% of his hp after 4 minute play.

As a celestial I feel I lack in both.

I tried sinister engie (supposed to be a dps monster). In pve it’s dps monster, in Vale I dunno. Still felt lacking as thought I was doing 10 times lower damage then I should.

Agree. Or give us option Anet. The server doenst send graphic info (would be way to much overhead.) The server send ‘use animation x’ in 8 bit encriptions or something liek that. When that 8 bit code hits your library, and that library has the old version, you still see old version.

Long story short, it’s ultra simple for Anet to program two libraries, one of old agressive skill animations, and one ‘dumbed down, very child friendly’ version. We get to choose, we win all.

Or you can keep on doing same Anet. I suppose Pvp is about 20% of total gw2 player. 20% (wich not even all of them may like it) gets an ‘improvement’, 80% gets an immersion nerf. Not really the way to do this, now is it?

That’s my prediction for raids. Maybe 1-2 super healing professions. But with the druid healing nerf (nr 4 AF been nerfed super hard), I think druid is in a bad spot now. Useless.

I programmed somehow (finally got it to work after months of trying) managed to make super special keys on my mouse to do a skill in game (like the toggle scroll on /off). Those buttons are not recognized by gw2 itself.

Now the problem: 64 bit they don’t work. Re-opening 32 bit works fine… It was way to hard to setup to now just copy to 64 bit, the software also doesn’t give an option to copy past or change the allocation. I tried a lot of combinations, but didnt managed to get it right

Any advice? This is very annoying as my elite skills and nr 7 skill are not only usefull by clicking.

Update: You cannot change the map folder but you can add/remove games, by choosing their .exe file. Wich is how I added 64 bit exe-file. Now both clients work. This spared a lot of work, cause setting up the keybypass structure to make mouse buttons ingame work that are not recognized by gw2 is very complex. I didn’t wanna do it again.

I agree completely. Some pvp guys claims the ’true sounds (not visual clutter) has not been nerfed but I disagree. Bomb/grenade sound explosions are way more silent then in past. Good example is Chaos storm/spatial surge from mesmer. Sounds got nerfed into the ground, making it sound like mario skills now.

This is guild WARS. This is a game about a DRAGON, as bit as a continent, destroying stuff. And now they make fireballs, look like a small active light? Doesn’t make sense anet? Doesnt bring IMMERSION to the game. it REMOVE IMMERSION. A key part to make ppl enjoy/hate the game.

Every time they mentioned a ‘noise’ nerf, the noise was actual nerfed ingame. Play the game, and you’ll see.

Orbital strike noise was trimmed down 50-80% after the patch notes mentioned ‘noise’ reduction. Maybe you didn’t notice?

Anet, i’m getting tired that you destroy the ‘immersion’ feel of the game by making certain skills super silent, rather then their true nature would be: loud.

Examples: Engineer bombs/grenades
Orbital strike
Elementalist now fireball.
Traps of guardian
Chaos storm
Spatial surge
Cluster bomb
Etc.

Even in wvw (much much worse then in pvp) the sound ‘explosion’ never bothered me. On the contrary, it makes it feel like a true battlefield, true to it’s fantasy lore/magic.

A game with good graphics, but bad music, is bad for me. Same for game with super music, but bad graphics. Why? Immersion. They both need each other. Skill effects fall also under this. Kill the sound and you create a mario ‘all ages allowed’ version rather then guild ‘WARS’ game.

I know you want all sounds to be equal in pvp. Fine, for tournements, etc, you can implement it. But leave it alone in the rest of game. Or give players chance to use the old version (add it to F11 option panel).

So pvp devs stop destroying the pve/wvw immersion, thanks… This is not the correct way to push pvp. If you improve pvp, never do it at the cost of what makes gw2 great. Something you clearly did here. I hope the overlords (game designers) put pvp ‘I want to change everything’-devs in their place, cause they shouldnt be able to destroy the game this much.

I wouldnt make such a big point of this, if the ‘current version’ would still be immersive. But they arent. They are superior silent. Try using a bomb, and turn your camera view a bit away from your character. You almost don’t hear the wind moving when it explodes. Way to silent.

There’s plenty of skills in the game that still retained their cool, and ‘loud enough’ nature, that i’m getting very scared that you will overhaul them too. Wich is lame. The profession designers, sound designers etc, they had something in mind. They worked hard for it. And nerfing it a year later, doesn’t make it right. Not even for pvp ‘e-sport’, if you even could call it that. If you nerf all of them, I will probably quit the game. It’s one of these small things, that could greatly impact my experience on the game. I just can’t play without proper magic/explosion immersion. If you nerf it even further.

I know a lot of pvp players don’t care, or will probably disagree strongly. I don’t mind. This post is purely meant to waken up the pvp devs destroying pve immersion.

I litteraly destroyed 10k empyrial fragments the last week earned, and didnt play dungeons. There’s litteraly a ton of ways to get them.

Silverwaiste is good example, chest farm but also POD farming in lab (this one should be good for you, you can basically farm 2-3 per pod on average).

Jumping puzzles, fractals, dungeons, pvp reward tracks.

Dry top (especially the chests, by opening with keys)

There’s probably a lot i’m forgetting now but i’m sure there’s a lot more ways.

Tyria Mastery Points

No, you can’t. I think most of them are related to some achievements, wich also only can be earned once.

Basically in the end, to get all masteries, every person has to do the same: get all the mastery points by doing specific (same for every player) things (this is an account ‘quest’, not per character), and farm the experience (also account progress, not character).

Necro’s dont have much blast finsihers (one is a mark wich needs a mob to trigger). Overall if you really truly want swiftness stay close to external source (the player giving it, like warrior, guardian) more chance to get it.

Secondly use spectral walk and warhorn 5 if swiftness is your thing. Rune of the pack can even prolong their duration, as do the cooldown reduction traits for those skills.

Otherwise, sacrafice a slot to signet of locust for walking.

Queuing Outside of HotM

Well Anet can look my account up. 10300 hours playtime, the ones i did in pvp was when hotjoin still was fun, when queueing was still no burden.

I’m all for playing pvp again, but not with the current state. For someone with this many play/afk hours it may sound weird but ‘waiting and wasting time’ is the last thing i wanna do in this game.

So yes i fully agree with OP. They should stop with excuses ‘doenst work with dishonour,’ wouldn work with pop-up screen. Would scare ppl to much. Yeyeye, now ppl are scared of queues.

Least you can do is allow hotjoin (wich technically is pvp, wich technically should account to ‘being in heart of the mist’). I used to do hotjoin between matches, sometimes earning some favor if the match ended in synch with the join pop up. And even without reward, your fingers practised a bit of pvp while waiting. It was great. And pvp felt, smooth, as a non stop experience. It’s way far from that now.

Imo if Anet can waste 200 000$ on an overstated ‘e-sports’ event, then they can throw another 200 000$ to implement the feature we ask here. They shown they can easely waste money, then they might as well do this too. They wasted 4445 Heart of Thorns copy sales for just ONE (that will most likely be repeated) ESL event. I Inquire they do the same for this feature.

Spirits range bug

It is close to what it lists.

The issue is: In a zerg of 20 ppl, you standing far away with longboyw, pew pewing, the ppl closer to spirit, are preffered to be buffed. And the amount of allies per application interval is limited to 5. Wich means your overal chance to get it is low.

Stand on top of your spirit, and you should almost always get it’s buff. At least during zergs, if you are in a 5 man party (without to much minion like stuff), then you should get the buff properly.

It’s why i currently set up TWO characters with full gear and stuff and a teleport contract (airship and royal terrace). I farm with one a vinewrath. Log to next, do it again, teleport both to city, afk a bit, do Verdant brink if i want, rinse and repeat after several hours passed. That’s how I get a relative good mastery exp farm speed atm. But it’s still slow. If you do silverwaiste non stop, hitting a huge DR wall, sometimes it transfers over to other maps. Like if you do silverwaiste 200 events (about 185 with DR) then go to orr, first event will give 18000, second 15000 third 12000 or something like that. While normally if you don’t do crazy as this, new maps have their own similar 10-15 events ‘normal exp, before DR’ cap.

Gift of Sprockets - worth it ?

Since you can choose wich fractals you do now, choose the fractal that starts with the underwater bombs, and Ellen Kiel following you, while mai trin is another frac, this is basically it’s ‘pre-story, fractal’. The boss is golems, with an inquest champ controlling high damagel lightning beams in the room.

Why this fractal? The mobs in the room before boss, have a good chance to drop 5 spinal blades.

If you got a few alts doing nothing at the moment, park them in Gendarren fields, ‘not so secret’ jumping puzzle (hide out for aetherblade, one big, and one smaller chest, last is relatively easy to reach, but watch out the veteran, he can hurt if you are not careful). Sometimes mesmers offer free portal.

Farm the home node every day (can guest to other player who have it if you don’t). Average 1-2 a day for me.

Edge of the mist has some hard hitting veterans in the center also. I used my thief blind spam build (and my ranger with tanky pet), to solo these. Sometimes lucky enough to get a strike of 15 blade shards in a few mins (sometimes nothing in an hour either).

Leveling MASTERIES is a CHORE

We are not even a month into HoT and i mastered about half masteries already i think, with verdant brink/silverwaiste event farming.

I barely used booster etc

Once you get all masteries THEN the game will be even more boring (trust me on that). I’m on purpose (even as a multi 1000 hour playing veteran) not bursting tru masteries, to give me the sense of progress now, rather then to even forget about it.

No sound Dreamer

with my CM storm 5.1 headset wich has it’s own USB soundcard, sounds play ok in the game. With MSI G43 motherboard, and the cheap onboard sound chip (wich is of an unknown brand sadly to me – it’s not the well known/regarded Realtek cheap like their 889 model), with this cheap it doesn’t work.

Also lauren, no that we are talking about sounds: Some magical skills have supercool effects that emerge you in the game, but then you guys did a clean slate of nerfing ‘loud’ sounds to make pvp more balanced (sound wise). Can you please insert an option for pve players (or even pvp), so that the client (and only client) executes the old (and waaaaaaaaaay better imo) sound packets please? The game sounds like it’s it wanna be a huge war movie, but only uses sounds from a child adequate movie at the moment…

To give you example: Bombs, grenades, the jump skill used in sanctum sprint, chaos storm (this one is nerfed for long time already).

Some of the new skills (specializations) have not been ‘sound dumbed down yet’ and absolutely sound amazing, but if you go tru and nerf these, it’s gonna be a nightmare for me. I never play without sound, and pvp is least of my worries. I want to be emerged into the game, and accurate explosion, etc do that. Wich you guys just blatantly overnerfed for the sake of your pvp child. Stop this plz. Or give a client option with different (louder! old ones) sound packets.

I used Axe/Dagger + staff, + flame trap + spike trap, in full celestial during beta, it was pretty nice ,with damage spikes of 5000 dps. Now condition duration food is nerfed though, but at same time, my own ascended celesital gear+ birthday blaster, should get all stats above 750, wich is a very good tresshold.

Celestial avatar used to heal 800 with number 1, now it heals 680 I think. So healing power should matter now!

Look Moonraider, the masterties, hero points, elite specs, feel like mysterious and powerfull, cause you gotta work for them in a challenging environment (Verdant brink). That they are not given apon release is good. Masteries are ‘grind exagerrated’ by people like you. I already have 9 million exp worth of masteries (wich i think is about 1/5 of what i totally need to farm). That is in 5 days only. That means within a month i would have done everythign but precursor crafting. Tell me what is grindy about that. What’s more you don’t need all these masteries at once, i know have speed mushroom mastery, jump mushroom mastery, gliding+updraft and almost poison resistance of Itzel. To be honest, those alone get you a very long way in the new content. And having to worked for it, makes it feel rewarding. It also gets immersed into why these Hylek clans CAN survive in Verdant brink, and that they take a while to trust you. That is IMMERSION, the thing you just said you hate. The personal story is also amazing immersive imo, with all the Sylvari politics, clan stories etc.

About hero points, while it is a bit on the hard side to get them, it doesn’t bother me. It motivates me to do the area’s more, area’s who are amazing. And no i’m not writing a review for Metacritic, no time for that, i wanna play the game xd Shouldn’t even post this, but couldn’t resist.

IF there’s one complaint: it’s the devs focus their nerf rage way to much on ranger (though i know it will shift). Druid avatar is now so timegated, it’s next to useless, not well thought out by the balance leader (Roy).

An mmo without at least a little bit of ‘grind’ (progression i rather call it), is a boring mmo. People think, getting it handed free, will give them better experience, but they don’t realize they are wrong.
