While I’m sure the current issues with CA will be resolved, I’m concerned this one will be overlooked: condition damage does not charge CA.

The Druid doesn’t have a very good synergy with the Rangers’ base skills and this will only further emphasize these discrepancies. It would really be a shame to not being able to wear Apothecary or the new Expertise based sets, since the ranger has access to some really nice burns, bleeds and even useful poison damage on low cd for sPvP.

I was really excited to experience a bunker side of my class, but as it stands, Staff is unfortunately mandatory and all condi weapons are excluded.

I hope this will be seen as constructive feedback and addressed, since the concept of the druid is great and with a little bit of tweaks, so could be the implementation.

Druid PVP Builds for HOT Launch?

I think I’ll run this build: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vNAQJATWjEqQLLWyCesAXLW+DM41acduuUEyABgm+VNYHUyzCD-TpRGABA8AAO4QAkwFAYt9H4uMQAHBAA

Probably will change the amulet if something better comes out. Lots of fury and opening strikes, not sure if viable, but probably fun.

PvP Scoreboard Question

This may be a silly question, but does the damage/heal from your pet contribute to the Scoreboard numbers?

I tried the build, it’s really fun and nobody expects a ranger closing in

One question though, why are you using the River Drake? Seems to me that the Salamander or even the Marsh Drake deal more damage.

Nice to see something different from LB/GS ranger. Do you have a link to your build? I’d love to give it a try.

They modeled the charr after this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXGg9Dd17G8

I think it’s pretty accurate.

I am not saying everyone has to agree with me, I just know that a large portion of the community is like myself livid over the show of bad faith from ArenaNet to its actual customers, and worse.. to its long term LOYAL customers, showing everyone that to Anet see’s loyalty as a resource they can USE not as a gift given by the players, and that leaves a sour taste in your mouth.

That’s like being upset that you bought a 1 TB hard drive that cost 200$ 5 years ago, and it costs 50$ now. Some things lose their value, games not being an exception.

People are just greedy and angry that new players get a glorified trial and they think they deserve something in return as well. Well you already get something – the game that you paid for.

You can get GW 1 for dirt cheap now. Anyone going to complain about that, as well?

This is what Gaile said:

“I do not understand these threads. “My family and I have played thousands of hours, but we feel ‘cheated’ because the person who is joining now plays the core game for free or pays just the one fee for Heart of Thorns.”
Let’s consider another type of purchase, that of DVDs. FotR was $30 when it came out on DVD. You now can get all three chapters of LotR for less than $20. But the person who buys now lost years of viewing pleasure because he didn’t own the video at release. LotR is shown for free on television, but that doesn’t negate the value of purchasing the DVDs, for those of us who chose to make those purchases. Imagine showing up at a DVD retailer and saying, “This movie is now free. I want money off another title.”
The hours in Guild Wars 2 that your family has enjoyed—very likely the thousands of accumulated hours—are not without value. They are not, to us, without cost. The 40 major updates we have made to the game that you have been enjoying for three years each add significant value to your purchases: Wintersday festivals that a new player will never be able to attend, major in-game events they’ll never see, drops that were only available to you, as a veteran player, during a limited period.
The position in the first post has been put forth by different people and successfully dispelled time and time again. OP — Please know that we greatly appreciate your support. I encourage you to make whatever purchase decision is best for you and your family. But please never forget that all you have gotten for each of your purchases does have value, in the overall view of things.”

I really don’t understand the hate.

Even if you bought the game recently, you still get the expansion and lots of privileges that have been detailed over and over again. With the chat/trade/currency restrictions, the new players can’t hurt the game in any way. More so, they will finally have a trial that doesn’t seem empty and lots of them will buy the game.

Zerker problem

I BELIEVE IT WILL BE A BETTER GAME WHEN THE REQUIRED META FOR HIGH END CONTENT IS MORE DIVERSE THAN IT CURRENTLY IS.

How is that going to help? If having one set as the optimal causes all these problems, having multiple sets optimal for different professions will make things worse not better.

Instead of “LF Zerkers” you will have “LF Zerker Ele, Knight Guard, Sinister Necro”, still if you don’t play the gear that your profession is “supposed” to play the meta we will still get posts like this one. The problem will remain.

To add to this, even if the number of meta builds gets too large to put into the description, players will find other ways to find others who wish to play like they do. And there will always be a fraction of them that will be jerks.

The jerk fraction is the problem the OP has and changing the meta will not remove that problem.

I don’t think it will make it worse. If the soft trinity really worked (as advertised), theoretically each class should be able to fulfill each role. Of course there will be a meta, there will always be a meta, but at least I’d get to play control or support for a change.

I for one, am not very bothered by this. I play mostly with friends, so I can’t encounter any elitism or bad runs, regardless of the gear, but I know that what we do is suboptimal.

Maybe it’s the MOBA mentality(I’ve played lots of Dota), but I really like the idea of experimenting many builds in many combinations and still have them viable.

Oh well, at least it’s not WoW.

Zerker problem

What people seem to miss here when saying that we have a choice, is that the rest of the builds are suboptimal. That is not really a choice, it’s an experiment at best.

Even if the soft trinity gets fixed, there will always be a meta. You’ll only see the bare minimum control and support roles to make the party work and the rest will be zerkers, but at least you’ll get to play other builds.

Skills should be somehow linked to toughness and vitality, like most of them are linked to power via damage. Protection and stability are just two examples that could be increased by toughness(in efficiency, not duration) and vitality could affect how you overcome conditions and give a chance to fumble your opponents attack(like the opposite of critical when the attack is made on you).

These are just some random ideas, but I’m sure a lot can be done in diversifying the builds.

Vitality/Toughness

With all the builds being zerkers it would be nice to have some diversity. I’m not saying you can’t play with other builds, but they’re suboptimal, especially in sPvP

Is this a typo? How many of of the meta sPvP builds are using a zerker amulet?

Yup, edited Thanks!

Vitality/Toughness

Are there any plans for these stats to be given a more decisive role? With all the builds being zerkers it would be nice to have some diversity. I’m not saying you can’t play with other builds, but they’re suboptimal(with dungeons being easy, any builds work, they’re just slower).

If Vitality reduced condition damage/duration on you and Toughness had a chance to fumble the opponent’s attack(to work like an opposite critical to his attacks made on you), I guess they would have a larger appeal to some more tankier builds.

The soft trinity isn’t equally represented and maybe a slight stat rework/rebalance would fix this. I’m not saying this is a solution, just a thought.

Do you guys have any similar suggestions/ideas?
