I’m happy that we are proving as a world (IoJ) that we can come in as the underdogs and throw a fight of our own. I’ve learned lots, specially how in most Assaults on Keeps and Towers, its usually a Ranged group that hits the door to stay clear of meteor shower and siege engines.
I also enjoy the skills that push players away from Battering Rams or building them. That is pretty smart and nice.
I also enjoy the zergs on all three sides who decided to attack a target out of distraction even if they know they are actually throwing their lives away and increasing their repair costs….but do it hoping to force another world’s armies to divide up.
My greatest concern for WvW is the aggressive stance the system takes against Support Roles in general.
I play on my Elementalist anything from Glass-Cannon Builds to Full Support Build and its amazing how WvW is extremely damage oriented that the very little support builds out there are changing over to damage builds since the system does not reward anyone who tries to actually support, but only rewards those who damage enough or kill.
I play a decent support build and sometimes I run with a friend who runs a second support build. Together we heal and maintain zergs decently, but the zergs are the ones who get most of the rewards while the Support Builds are extremely hard to receive anything.
The focus on support builds is for the players who are with us. We constantly are monitoring our own fighting force, trying to heal groups, resurrect fallen players, defending keeps and trying to make good of everything we have at our disposal.
Yes, there are many I’ve spoken to who wish to play support, but refuse to do so until a system is placed where support players are rewarded for their actions.
Be mindful of psychology,
Its common-place to attack the underdog in a Tier-1 match. In fact its expected to be the ones attacked everywhere since the assumption is that our entry into T-1 means we are the most vulnerable.
However, I would say we are holding out quite well for our Day-1 Adjustment period.
I hope it continues as good as it has been for the whole week. If anything, win or lose…as a server IoJ is learning a lot from this Tier-1 match which is something that we truly need…
…so yes, to SBI and JQ, please throw us your hardest and best! We expect no less from a Tier-1 matchup. To have any less would be to rob each other of a great experience.
I am in IoJ. For the last week I have spoken to guilds, helped out people here and there in preparation for our entry into T1.
So far its been great matches one after another. Amazing turnovers on Keeps and great standoffs. I love what I am seeing so far.
cheers
Current Score is
11,700 (IoJ)
11,000 (SBI)
10,700 (JQ)
Its extremely intense. Thanks
I work a lot with Elementalist Glass Cannon Builds and Elementalist Support Builds. They are my main.
The Question I have:
If Healing Rain is supposed to last nine seconds, does this count for the Duration of the Water Field that it generates? The water field duration feels more like the Regeneration Duration because I combo my Geyser with Arcane Skills for the Blast Finisher, then Combo Healing Rain with the #2 Skill on the Staff Earth, and sometimes I hit it, and sometimes I don’t. This is me TESTING IT alone for the duration.
Does the Condition Removal actually work as stated on that skill? It feels like it ends at 5.25 seconds and does not run for the full nine seconds.
Server transfers are hurting our server community (Jade Quarry - LONG)

Original Server Community? Is that a joke?
If you want to talk about an “Original Server Community” and people leaving, play the original Guild Wars, you know….that game that actually has some people who did play for the seven years its been out, like myself!
However, don’t start making claims at having an “Original Server Community” on the basis to a game that has not even existed for three months!
As it currently stands, I believe this game is just in its initial stages. Its infancy. It has not truly matured yet. It has just started. Our “communities” are forming and if people are shuffling around servers, Its perfectly understandable…
Right now it feels like a college where everyone is going through an Add-Drop Period and just trying to find where they belong. Not all GW2 players are WvW Fanatics.
I will believe more in the “top server” and “top tier” list probably after six months when we actually see something more consistent and can actually make judgements. However, I find it much too early to tell.
