The second week of TAW’s Hunt Across Tyria is here with 5 new clues for you!
The first week seemed to be a bit too easy for some people, so let’s see if I can make you work a bit harder for your points! You can still submit answers from the first week! If you’re just getting in, it’s not too late!
This week’s clues:
Easy
* Show these men and women how to swing a sword, fire rifles in a volley, and most important, how not to get hit by painful things!
* Sometimes children can be a handful. Throwing snow balls, getting honey all over the new rug… SUMMONING BEARS?!
Medium
* She fell protecting her friends and comrades. There are still those who wish to corrupt the spirit of her sacrifice.
* With her army raised in secret, she overthrew those filled with burning hatred and freed her kind from tyranny.
Hard
* Ask this captain for some advice and he’ll put some pep in your step. If you stick around, he’ll tell of the tales shared by the sailors.
My guild, The Art of Warfare, is hosting a scavenger hunt in-game. You can find the main thread here:
Have you enjoyed exploring for hidden areas and diving deep into the lore of this game? Think you know a lot about Tyria? Want to prove it? Then have I got something for you: The Art of Warfare’s Hunt Across Tyria!
TAW is hosting a scavenger hunt across all of Tyria and it’s open to everyone!
The rules:
* Every week on Friday for five weeks, 5 clues will be posted.
* Two clues will be fairly easy to answer if you pay attention while playing the game. (Worth 3 points each)
* Two clues will require a bit of lore knowledge and/or some exploration. (Worth 4 points each)
* One clue will be difficult, little facests or bits in the game of note, but nothing even close to major. (Worth 5 points each)
* Submit screenshots with your answers (or links to those screenshots) and Guild Wars 2 name to ShadowMage@taw.net
* Each participant will earn points for each correct answer they submit.
* For particularly fun, funny, or creative correct submissions, that person will receive 1 bonus point.
* (Bonus points will only serve for tie-breaker purposes, they will not be added into someone’s total points.)
* At the end of the event (May 8, 2015), prizes will be given! We will pull 6 winners, 3 from TAW members and 3 from non-TAW members.
* 1st place winners will receive a choice of any of the miniatures we put up as prizes.
* 2nd place winners will receive a choice of a Rare dye from our prize pool.
* 3rd place winners will receive a choice of a Fine (Blue) or Masterwork (Green) dye.
This week’s clues:
Easy
* This is no bull. Suit up and help these cows mooove through their training course!
* These pups look like they could use some fronds. Help out around the kennel in this lush jungle.
Medium
* It doesn’t take stature to stand tall against a dragon, but his bravery was not enough. His passing left his broken body and broken friendships.
* A village nestled away in the hills, this place is protected by magical guardians, summoned from the tower above the sea.
Hard
* A fallen winged figure lays on snow covered slopes, Half-buried and long forgotten. He closest company, the rusting remains of a gargantuan foe.

It was on day number 19 or something like that. Nowhere near the Chest of Loyalty.
Are you sure you didn’t accidentally select compact inventory at some stage?
100% certain, because I flip my excrement with that happens. Every time I hit “compact” I hate myself for then next 30 minutes and don’t even look at my inventory after resorting it.
Log in rewards were introduced on December 16th. There has been enough time to complete three months.
I’m not trying to insult your intelligence or anything, but are you SURE it’s a Chest of Loyalty? If it actually is one, then the only way you could have gotten it was via Daily Log-in rewards. It’s probably been there quite some time. It’s very easy to not notice things in your inventory.
You’re right about having time. I couldn’t remember when they started.
100% sure. I opened it, got 20 Laurels and a 2% gold increase. I linked it into both Map chat and guild chat. And it is highly unlikely it was not sitting in my inventory. I cleared out my first slot bag and part way through the chest train, I checked and it was just there. Second or third row from the top of my inventory. Bright pink. VERY conspicuous and hard to miss.
Now this may seem like a really stupid question. I know you normally get them from logging in 28 days. However…
I was just farming in the Silverwastes and I looked in my inventory and there it sat. I have no idea how I got it (I assumed I got it from a bandit chest).
I have 9% gold find and 5,369 Achievement points. The only way I know of to increase Gold Find % is through achievement milestones. (You have 3% total at 5,000). This means I’ve gotten 3 +2% gold find consumables. There’s not been enough time to complete 3 months. Right?
INB4: Daily Login: I’m nowhere NEAR the Chest of Loyalty for logging in. And I didn’t forget to open a previous one. I clean out my bags more than once an hour and it was just sitting near the top of my main 20 slot bag. A place where I could NOT have missed it.
Members got together yesterday and did a dungeon and some fractals. Some members also queued in PvP together and had a fun time!
We’re growing every day, and more people are on all the time!
We did a little mini-event tonight. A bunch of us ran through Metrica Province doing map completion.
Much fun, many laughs, and numerous levels were had!
Maybe I can interest you in The Art of Warfare.
TAW is a gaming community that was founded back in 2001 by a handful of gaming friends. In the 14 years since our establishment, we’ve grown to over 2,500 members from all over the world and we currently support over 30 different games.
Guild Wars 2 is one of the newest games we’ve started supporting and the group is very new, only a couple months old. We’re a semi-casual PvX guild that focuses on having fun together and coordinating our in-game efforts. We mostly focus on PvE, but many of our members (including myself) also dabble on PvP. We have a TeamSpeak 3 server that we use to just chat with each other or to communicate while playing the game.
We don’t have any in-game requirements like having a certain skill-level, character level, character class, etc. We only ask that our members join our website , communicate with us on TeamSpeak 3, be reasonably active, and, most importantly, be a friendly and nice person.
If you have any questions, I’d be happy to answer them; you can either respond here or message me in-game (ShadowMageAlpha.7580). It might also be a good idea to check out our website and, if you want to join, you can just apply on there. Hope to hear from you soon!

One of our members recently acquired a commander tag and, to celebrate, he went through the Silverwastes leading a chest-train. Great profit for all involved!
Just one example of the many mini-events we do in TAW.
The Art of Warfare (TAW) is looking for new members for our Guild Wars 2 group!
TAW is a gaming community that was founded back in 2001 by a group of friends who played Delta Force together. Based on the foundations of comradery, fun, and cooperation, TAW has flourish almost 15 years later into a thriving and active community supporting over 30 different games and with over 2,500 members from all over the globe. We have our own full-featured website (www.TAW.net) and a our own TeamSpeak 3 server.
We have recently started up a Guild Wars 2 division and are looking for new members from both the NA servers and EU servers. Currently the group is pretty small, but we are very friendly. We are aiming for a semi-casual, semi-serious feel with the guild; friendly and laid back, but active and cooperative. We do a handful of scheduled events every week ranging from dungeons, fractals, PvP or other things. There’s almost always someone in the guild playing the game or in TeamSpeak. We have big plans for frequent in-game events such as Guild Missions, in-Guild PvP tournaments, and other fun activities like hide-and-seek, scavenger hunts, and raffles!
If you are interested in TAW, we have only four small requirements. First and most important, you must be friendly and willing to work with others. We also expect our members to be somewhat active. (You don’t need to be on every day. Once once or twice a week is great!) We also require our members to download and use TeamSpeak 3 and for our members to apply on our website.
Beyond these requirements, we do not expect our members to be of any particular skill-level, character-level, class, build, or anything else. We are by design and nature a very open and accepting community and we will not shun anyone based on gender, faith, or anything else.
If you’re interested in joining us, feel free to message me in game (either whisper or mail ShadowMageAlpha.7580) or check out www.TAW.net. We hope to hear from you soon!

Founded in 2001 by a close-knit group of friends, TAW started out as a small gaming clan built with the cornerstones of fun, cooperation, and comradery. Just over 13 years later, TAW has stayed true to these cornerstones and grown to to over 2,500 members from all over the world and spread across over 30 different games!
Joining The Art of Warfare has several perks, with the full use of our TeamSpeak 3 sever and access to our forums being prominent examples. Our TeamSpeak sever where members gather to play together during gaming sessions, or just to hang out and chat. If you ever found yourself wanting a fun group of people to play with, or need a little help in game, TAW can help satisfy those desires!
One of the many games played by TAW, our Guild Wars 2 division has members on both the North American and the European servers. Both the NA and EU guilds will have frequent events ranging from boss fights, dungeons and fractals, in-game events, PvP tournaments, and many other events that the division staff come up with.
Finally, the requirements for becoming a member of TAW are not too demanding. All TAW members must be at least 15 years of age, join the TAW website, and be willing to download and use TeamSpeak. Further, it is required that members be respectful to everyone. (Note: Skill or level are not requirements. We’d be happy to have you no matter your skill!) Beyond this requirements, we ask that members be active and friendly; people can’t have fun if there’s no friendly people to have fun with!
If you think TAW might be a good fit for you, feel free to check out our website (www.TAW.net). If you have any questions or would like to talk to me, feel free to respond here, or message me in-game at ShadowMageAlpha.7580 (NA) or ShadowMageAlpha.5420 (EU). Hope to hear from you soon!
If you’re still looking for a guild, my I interest you in The Art of Warfare? TAW is a gaming community that just started a strong recruiting push in our new Guild Wars 2 division and we’re looking for quality friendly members.
You mentioned you wanted a guild that you can stick around in and TAW might be that place. The Art of Warfare as a community has been around since 2001 and has grown over the years to just over 2,500 members and over 30 different games. At our core, we believe in having fun and forging strong and lasting bonds between members. We achieve this through regular “practices” (They’re not really focused on getting better, but that’s what they’re usually called.) where players get together on our TeamSpeak 3 server and coordinate to achieve greater success than we ever could alone.
If TAW sounds interesting to you, feel free to message me and check out our site (www.TAW.net). We’d love to hear from you, and hopefully you’ll contact us!
If you’re interested, The Art of Warfare is looking for new members. We have a European guild. If you’d like to know, feel free to message me.
If you guys haven’t found a guild yet, perhaps I can interest you in The Art of Warfare?
TAW is a gaming community that has been around since 2001 and we’ve grown from a small group of friends to a large community with over 2,500 members spread over more than 30 different games. TAW focuses on having fun and forming strong friendships as we coordinate our efforts together. We have a large TeamSpeak 3 server in which we host our play sessions for all the games.
TAW recently opened up a Guild Wars 2 division, and we’ve been recruiting hard! So far the guild is still pretty small, but we’ve been doing jumping puzzles, dungeons, boss trains, and the like pretty regularly. Eventually we’ll get into PvP and maybe even WvW. We’re also planning fun little activities like hide-and-seek, Tours of Tyria, and other fun things.
If TAW sounds interesting to you, feel free to message me or check out the TAW site. If you’re unsure if TAW is for you, we’d happily invite you into our TS server sometime. If you think you might want to join us, we hope to hear from you soon!
Hello Caellum! Maybe you’d be interested in The Art of Warfare? TAW is a gaming community that recently opened up a Guild Wars 2 division. TAW focuses primarily on having fun in a family-friendly atmosphere, as well as coordination and being active. We don’t have any skill requirements, so being a new player isn’t a problem.
A little bit about TAW: We were founded in 2001 by a group of friends and we have expanded to have over 2,500 members with over 30 different games. We have a TeamSpeak 3 server that’s always up where we host play sessions and many players chill in during down time.
If you’d like to know more, or if you’re interested, please contact me in game or check out our website (www.TAW.net)! Hope to hear from you soon!

Hello Cyelana. I represent a gaming community called The Art of Warfare. We recently started up a Guild Wars 2 division and we’re looking for new members. We may not be exactly what you’re looking for, but I’ll still tell you about us. Hopefully you’ll like what you hear at check us out.
The Guild Wars 2 division within TAW wants to provide something to do on every night. Due to our currently small numbers (we’re gaining member pretty quickly), we’ve mostly been doing PvE, Dungeons, Jumping puzzles, and that sort of thing. Eventually when the group gets more members and we become more organized, we’ll do Guild Missions (they are one of my top priorities), WvW, and other fun activities such as hide and seek, scavenger hunts, and races.
While the Guild Wars 2 division isn’t large (yet), TAW as a whole has over 2,500 members spread all over 30 different games and we have members from all over the world. TAW’s mail goal is to have fun in a family friendly atmosphere and does this through communication and coordination on our TeamSpeak 3 server. This often also creates strong friendships and I have made many friends through my membership in TAW.
If TAW seems interesting to you, please don’t hesitate to contact me and/or check out our website (www.TAW.net). If you’re still not sure if we’re the Guild for you, we’d be more than happy to invite you into our TeamSpeak channel to play with us for a bit. Hope to hear from you soon!

Hello! I’m a member of a gaming community called The Art of Warfare. We just started up a Guild Wars 2 team and it may be a good fit for you. I like to think of TAW as a semi-casual community; we have a laid back attitude, we don’t require a certain skill level or build, and we don’t enforce a particular play mode, but we do expect people to be reasonably active.
We’ve been doing things such as jumping puzzles, boss trains, dungeons, etc. We’re planning to dabble into a little bit of everything once things get going a bit more smoothly.
If that sounds interesting, feel free to message me here or in-game. If you’d like you can also check out our website (www.TAW.net) or we can invite you into our TeamSpeak server to see if you like the community. Hope to hear from you soon!

The Art of Warfare (or TAW for short) is an online gaming community with 2,500 members and growing! We have divisions for dozens of games and members all across the world. TAW recently started up a Guild Wars 2 division and we are currently looking for active, friendly, and cooperative players!
The Art of Warfare has several key points in its philosophy, most significant of which are friendliness, cooperation, and, most important of all, fun. We, as a community, strive to have quality members who set a good example and are pleasant to be around. Each division as a whole and each person is expected to have some form of consistent participation in both the game and in the community. (We do understand when life gets rough and you need to take a break though.) These expectations lead to a strong connection being created between members and a consistently active community.
Advancement in TAW is based on attitude, ability, and willingness to put forth effort. More often than not, promotions and positions will be given to those members who are willing to worth with others and better themselves. The GW Division in TAW will have a good deal of autonomy. The people in the division are the ones who choose what to focus on, not the higher-ups outside of the division. This means if we want to focus on PVE one month, and PVP the next (or even a combination of both), then would be free to make that decision as a group.
We are willing to accept people from any North American or European server. We will have various types of events such as PvE, Guild Events, Inner-Guild PvP Tournaments, Scenic tours of Tyria, Scavenger Hunts, and World Bosses just to name a few! We have a Team Speak 3 server that is always up, and website ( www.TAW.net ) that always has someone on it.
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to message me. If you’re interested in helping out and joining, please check out TAW’s website and send me a message. Alternatively, message me on Guild Wars 2 (ShadowMageAlpha.7580). Thanks!

I have been playing for Team Fortress 2 for quite some time, long before it was to become the war-like hat simulator that it is now.
When the hat system first came out, the method of getting drops for it was 100% random. It ended up that hats were INSANELY valuable because there was a significant portion of the people that would literally never get a hat drop. If I recall, I was one of those people and I played a LOT.
Valve ended up changing the system to a pseudo-RNG. After X amount of time, you were given a chance for a hat to drop, but you would ALWAYS be given a hat after Y amount of time. I’m not sure at the exact mechanics of the system, but it effectively moved all those hatless “brutally unlucky” people up into a more middle of the road “unlucky that they’re not more lucky” group. It almost universally increased the “class” of all the players, and the only group “suffered” were the lucky group of people that had a number of hats drop within a short amount of time. They only really “suffered” in a sense that their group became less exclusive and their hats became less valuable.
Long story short, Valve tried the pure RNG approach for a while, and something like 95% of the people or more were not happy with it. They changed to a pseudo-RNG system with a build up of luck as time passed, and those people became MUCH happier.
I’ve been part of a gaming community/clan called The Art of Warfare for many years. Instead of just being for one game, there are various sub-communities within TAW for a game. I would very much like to start a Guild Wars 2 division for TAW and I would need help in this endeavor.
