this game isn’t about getting a prize, look at the gear.
it’s about feeling good, so I hope you feel good from spending all those hours to hit 100% map comp.
Basically the devs are a bunch of mothers who like to hold your hand, maybe a swear word makes you break down into tears and want to kill yourself. Luckily the hero’s are here to save you from the evil of a swear word
rams are awesome, so are trebs. but i’m such a terrible team player I let other players front the bill. It’s just not worth the silver for some karma and silver, it’s a waste.
lol and you’re complaining? ever looked at the Charr armor sets? they look terrible, I’ve yet to find one that doesn’t make me look like an Emo child molester
ya but you hit 100% shouldn’t you FEEL like you did something big? shouldn’t you be proud? why would you need a carrot? is the meddle important when you had FUN!?
are you a wow fan?
I run turrets on pve quests when I have to kite (I’m an 80 engineer)
but in pvp the turrets are pretty useless, in pve if they’re attacking something else it’s an alright move to drop them.
Engineer is just situational class, it depends on so much to say what is “best”
I’ve been 80 for awhile, there are no cloaks, the slot you’re thinking of is probably the padding between armor slot.
I lag, but my FPS in below yours.
Starting at 30 there is a dungeon every 10 levels, with 3 around the level 80 mark.
You have to play them in story mode first, than it unlocks exploration mode.
story mode is far easier as it includes the npcs from your personal story.
explo is far harder and gives you tokens you use to eventually (it takes hundreds per item) unlock exotic gear (all exotic gear is equal)
so to recap, you hit 80, you get all exotic gear, you have nothing to do but what is “fun”
and by fun I mean you no longer get anything but aesthetic goals, i hope that is enough for you, because that is all you will get.
What sortof game wouldn’t allow it, I doubt the devs are taking the hold your hand approach. We did pay money for this after-all
Alex i hear you, but it’s not enough fun to most players (in its current form), bottom line.
Things should get better in time, lol hopefully
seconded, though I’m sure if you give them some time they’ll put it in the game.
From a level 80, I can tell you the game isn’t about pve, but pvp/WvW.
Arah is a blast but as you stated once you beat the explo paths there isn’t ever a reason to go into it again, it’s not worth your time.
The events are a fun thing you can drop into, but they neither have significant rewards or at all difficult.
To be honest I’ve been looking around on there forums for days and the posters seem to love the game, there is very little disappointment. Of coarse I asked for an opinion on my own let downs for the game and it was deleted by an admin, so who’s to say they’re just not all getting axed.
I have an 80 engineer, when I actually get on WvW I have no problems with the class. The mortar skill is amazing (though it’s a shame the range is so short)
Don’t waste your karma on the yellow gear in the cities.
It’s cheaper and better quality if you go to the vendor outside of the Arah gate (you have to have control of it for him to appear.)
You miss the point of his problem
It’s not getting the carrot that matters, but the motivation the carrot inspires.
People need concrete goals to work towards, and aesthetics simply don’t cut it for most people who have had time to get what they want after 80.
So to answer your question OP, currently there is no Significant point to keep playing the game. It’s disappointing, and hopefully something will be injected into the game so players have a reason to log on.
looks and nothing more, welcome to guild wars
selling gems doesn’t get you much, it’s like 10 bucks for 1.5 – 2G
not worth it at all
so what does it give you? anything past making a big party?
It’s not about “sweet loot” or being competitive, guys just need a goal that takes a lot of time to achieve, and they want to feel properly rewarded. Without the reward there is no motivation, without that they don’t have end game for that specific player.
You’re associating stereotypical end game and assuming raids must be what every one wants, it’s not the game, it’s the hard obstacle and feeling of achievement, which comes in the form of better gear.
So many fan boys, the man just wants motivation to keep playing. It doesn’t have to be something major, just something tangible he can be proud of.
Most of the guys who didn’t play GW1 don’t give an f about the looks.
Get off his back, he’s just confused
I pre-ordered the game and hit 80 pretty fast, I didn’t rush max level. I simply played the parts of the game that I enjoyed.
It’s been 4 or 5 days now sense i hit level cap, every time I log in I literally sit in my chair, blink a few times and realize there isn’t a single thing I want to do in game anymore.
I’m a pure pve player, I’ve never cared about crafting, aesthetics, or pvp.
Sure WvW is fun sometimes (when I have a few friends on who want to group up), but what motivation do I have to play it? I already have exotic weapons and a few armor pieces and I hardly noticed a difference in my character performance.
I did the dungeon story lines, they’re without a doubt enjoyable. but I will never want to play them again, they offer me nothing but armor that looks different.
IDK, I have two friends in vent who will go on and on about how the looks are a big deal, but to me I need motivation for something end game I enjoy, that’s PVE with only my group of friends, and frankly this game falls short on that subject. A dev himself said in a similar forum topic that the game “doesn’t have a whole hell of a lot of endgame”
I should have researched the game more before dropping 60 bucks, the game was never going to be about end game pve, I made the mistake of hoping otherwise.
