Too bad they didn’t think that it might be because it’s the chests that are a problem.

That’s only because players collectively ignore the fact that the “junk” in chests is actually what chests were designed to deliver.

If they were designed to deliver that “junk”, why are the tickets in there as the only way to obtain them, too?

Unique backpack skins, account bound minis, set minis and missing event dye kits are also only available now from BLTC. Because it’s a rare PRIZE.

No kitten.

And that rare prize is all people want. Revive orbs and repair canisters are virtually worthless and the BLC’s still give the old single purpose boosters. I can buy a whole merchant box for less than the cost of a single key and boost powder costs a whole 10 silver from a merchant.

I mean hell, you might only get 1 transmute stone out of a chest when you could just spend 25 gems more to buy 5 directly.

There is no way that video is of the staff auto-attack. The ranger was rooted in place and it had like a 3 second cast time.

“We heard your complaints about the 1h Sword being too mobile…”

to bring something fresh and new to this thread – facts – i just say you that one dev already said, shortly after the announcement that the skill we saw in trailer was changed. it is able to be cast while moving and the cast time was halfed i think. everything is changing at an alarming rate. except the ranger community. they never stop crying.

Citation needed.

Blizzard is more serious and professionnal than Anet. They provide a true beta server and all classes get their new stuff for the very beginning, so you can test whatever class you want and when you want.

And?

They also have crud game play,

Not according to the vastly larger amount of people who play the game it doesn’t…

Most underused pet and why?

Substance E.4852

Ive managed to find very good uses for the boon producing moas. However sadly my favorite pet type is my least used. Devourers. If for no better reason than there ‘evade’ skill. That one ability more than any other on the planet causess me to simply never use it. If anet got rid of that. Id actually consider taking it just for the sheer coolness factor of carrion devourers.

I totally want a zerk stats Devourer. Or Spider for that matter.

Zerk bear ftw.

If real life grizzlies worked the way GW2 brown bears did, there would never be a need to hang food from trees or use tank bodies as trash cans in Yellowstone.

Bear attacks would be a slight inconvenience, never life and death. A screen door would keep them out of your home.

I think that they’ll make new Pet Mechanic!
When your pets HP goes to “0” it will not die!!!
It just can’t move and all damage made to your pet will redirected to you.

Good thing the pet never gets to 0 health then!

Except when they die from fall damage.

It was always great in PvP, but it was one of the worst classes (if not the worst class) in high end PvE post Factions.

Welp, looking at the current meta and the the speedclear teambuilds, warriors are by far the worst. They aren’t even represented as a secondary profession.

Anet pretty much stopped giving a kitten about pve balance after EotN came out.

I’m hoping the key drop rate is significant.

I bet they didn’t increase it at all.

They could always say they did and not do it and we would never be the wiser. And even if they actually did raise it, the increase would be miniscule.

Such negativity in these forums. I for one am happy Anet has chosen to increase the drop rate from 0.0000001% to 0.0000002%. It shows they care.

On the plus side the staff we’ll be getting is pretty.

I agree, but people will just complain that it has less dps then ranger.
And well, of course a ranger is more offensively oriented then a druid.

Only baddies maybe. Look at the necro. It can put out a great amount of DPS. It’s picked even less than Ranger because it almost entirely lacks team support.

I appreciate all the comments but people really need to stop saying completely subjective it is not completely some will look more fluid then others, I should of worded it as in which looks faster and more fluid or might look over the top, you could just give me your opinion on which looks the best instead of saying that really, if you cannot express an opinion then there is something wrong here.

Honestly they are all about the same. Female animations feel like the great sword is a lot weightier but they also have an upright stance for firing the bow vs the male crouched stance.

This is for norn and human. The animations are largely similar.

Charr feel a bit more energetic but a lot feels like it’s lost due to their larger bodies and the tail. The kick on the 1H sword also looks a little silly with their smaller than usual legs.

1. Depends on the content but in most cases, yes, you will need to understand the class to play it well.

2. Disliked mostly. Many play on easy mode with a long bow and pet that tanks for them. This will work in pve overworld but is a pretty bad way to play in group content. The higher skill ceiling also means most only interact with poor players tarnishing the public image. It’s also not a favorable pick for ultra hardcore groups in any mode at the moment.

3. Plenty of things but not much that isn’t already provided by other classes. The druid may change this but time will tell. The only thing we can really shine in is regen spam on allies but there is no content that takes advantage of this at the moment.

4. You can tame up to 40 land pets and 21 aquatic pets (many are used in both modes). The ones at creation just determine which you start with but you are not locked to that one and any race can get all the pets.

5. Hard to define coolest objectively. I’d recommend making one of each and playing with them a bit to find what works for you.

6. Wooden sticks and you won’t see it in your hand when you draw the bow nor will you get a quiver by default though 2 skins exist. I must add that one is very expensive and the other is a limited time gem store skin that is only very occasionally available.

7. Newbie rangers abound though I’ve found the class to be relatively low population when you reach lvl80 compared to classes like warrior or elementalist.

I don’t think you came off as prickish, I know I have come off thay way. I wasn’t saying anyone was wrong. Just that there was so much kittining.

I am new, so I don’t know what all has gone on. It just sucks when we new players are trying to figure out the ranger and there is a lot of negativity.

Ya, that tends to happen after three years of “crickets…” responses to criticism and number crunching.

Virtually everything the ranger has right now is the result of non-stop kittening. Just as an example, we had roughly 2 years of our signets not even affecting the player by default. You used to have to bring a grand master trait just to get them to work like every other class.

It was literally all the trait did.

anet have stellar knowledge on what the community actually wants and will pay for in their game. they are faultless.

to sell pet rock for 87gems, or bunny ears/wide rimmed glasses/aviators/devil horns/halo for 800-1000gems. the obvious choice is clear to everyone but anet evidently

The sad thing is that stupid rock won’t even generate any serious income for them.

The few who will want it will probably just buy the gems using gold thanks to the low price and the dropping gem price as people sell off their excess gems that never got spent.

I have it, as I was hoping they would make it account bound. So I could use the skin on my Necro. My guardian rocks the complete. I’m a horder though.

Even if they did bring it back, they would have to redesign the whole quest in LA, as some or the areas where you did parts of the quests are gone, or no longer have access to. Like the sewer’s, and the LA ruins from GW1 have been changed too, and I think the building one of the ghosts was in got hit by the breach maker.

All they have to do is bring it back for 5 corn cobs or w/e. The quest was pretty boring and we’ve gotten a lot more Mad King lore since the son showed up.

Seems everyone’s answer to missing skins is give them to a vendor, and grind out something to pay for them. I quite liked the quest, and not everyone knows the lore of King Thorn. The quest was good for that.

It’s not normally my answer but at this point I’m not even going to remotely expect Anet to come up with a new quest in LA for it.

I fully expect a 2013 v3.0 Halloween with the only thing new being the new LA decorations.

Maybe a new 1/1,000,000,000,000,000 ToT bag item.

Dumping it in a “all purpose currency vendor” is the best hope we have.

Mordrem Invasion Update 10 September

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Someone did the math and its…. well, it’s straight up appauling…. Here is their direct quote > "The short of it is you get 5 blooms for 1-9, 10 blooms for 10-19, and 15 for 20-Infinity. If you haven’t done that map for that day, you also get a 20 bloom bonus chest.
The event lasts for 30 minutes on each map, with a 30 minute break between each map. So in 2.5 (4 if you look at the whole map rotation), you can get a max of 105 blooms.
In terms of event rewards, that’s 1 random mini and a Bag of Rare gear. …For 1.5 hours of actively playing and 1 hour of waiting around.
If you plan to grind more, the rate drops of dramatically since you don’t get the +20 chest any more; for every set of map rotations, you’ll only get +60 blooms.
Of the course of the 4 days, if you take advantage of all of the daily bonuses, without additional grinding, you’ll have a total of 420 blooms. It takes 450 to get one of the potions or to get a “set” of the Gloves/Shoulders. Even if you do something perfectly (2.5 hours a day for 4 days), you’ll be 30 blooms short and have to grind for 2 more hours.
It might not be so bad if there was some other reward, but you get no items, money, or XP for completing the event. Just blooms and one of two chests to either help you make Mawdrey or the Spinal Blades backpack.
Also, as a point of some silliness… Even if you play in EVERY EVENT for the 4 days, you’ll only have a max of 1320 blooms. (15 per map every 4 hours. 24 hour days with a +20 bonus chest. 45*(24/4)
20 = 330 blooms each day for 4 days.) That is 96 hours of “playing” (it’s mostly waiting, actually). <<

Sadly this doesn’t even address the amount of gold one will end up spending to WP all over the place for hours and hours.

I would repeatedly find myself fighting an ettin or something instead of a mordrem in all the chaos.

Your bias is showing. Both of your presented options state that the article was taken down to restrain honesty.

What about the possibility that the article was not, “really, really,” good? Perhaps it was taken down for being poorly written?

Who knows, perhaps it was taken down in response to an ANet request, but the article earned removal on its own merits (or lack of same). Being critical is not only appropriate but needed. Shoddy, “journalism,” however, doesn’t contribute to finding solutions to real problems.

Nope.

I have read it. It was well written, language used was appropriate etc. It also was based on prolonged facts, rather then assumptions making it more of an actual report piece vs. a commentary.

Even if it was a commentary, does A-Net have the right to force a well written one to be taken down ?

There is currently actually a lawsuit in progress in one of the high courts in our system dealing with gaming industry and their respective PR misrepresenting facts about their products as well as not disclosing paid for advertising practices. This lawsuit is pretty much an open and shut case and a forgone conclusion just naturally being stalled by gaming industry lawyers via appeals.

Once the verdict is reached it will have very wide effects on this type of behavior from the big gaming businesses as precedent will be set. There will be no more taking down such articles or at least, the entity forcing such a takedown will be held accountable for it and will have to pay appropriate damages, possibly make public apology statements etc. making it even worse for themselves in the long run.

Also, lets face it, this is the “interwebs” and I’m sure there are already archived copies of the article in question including on many public torrent sites far beyond reach of A-net for anyone to find.

I’m curious, which country is this legal case taking place in?

He is probably talking about deal between Microsoft and Machinima (youtube network). Microsoft paid Machinima to say nice things about Xbox One and Machinima “forgot” to disclose that which is kinda against the law. There was a little kittenstorm back in 2014 but no one cared. And now FCC decided to dig in to that and turns out this is happening all over the place.

The thing is that there’s nothing illegal about threatening an information embargo if the other party doesn’t play ball.

Tons of companies do it and you can talk to anyone who’s ever been part of a game review that was required to hold off on publishing until the day of release what the likely outcome is of not playing along.

Everyone is just super secretive about it because it looks shady as hell and begs all kinds of questions.

I’d imagine that after the giant IGN kerfuffle, Anet has little patience for game journalists/bloggers when it comes to Hot or GW2 at all.

What is the IGN kerfuffle?

IGN spilled the beans on Raids ~2 days before PAX.

http://dulfy.net/2015/08/27/gw2-getting-raids-with-core-game-being-free/

It wasn’t a lot of info by any means but it essentially robed Anet of the big reveal.
No idea what resulted from it but I can guarantee many a choice words were exchanged. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone lost their job either.

Worried? You were actually worried because people were having fun when a loot pinata wasn’t involved?

No, they are worried that people are expressing joy at incredibly menial PvE content.

I can’t even count how many people I watched completely avoid the volatile mobs because a champ spawned simply because their brain clicked and went “OMG Champ Bag!!!” despite there being no champ bag to be had.

They were so conditioned to focus a gold medal tag they couldn’t even process that the last 10 they zerged down gave no loot or comprehend that focusing on the proper mobs will allow more events to be completed and thus give actual loot.

People scoff at “holy trinity” because tank and spank is too “boring” and “formulaic” but then flock to this kind of stuff like it’s somehow not those exact things itself.

You guys do realize that you could just ask the people at TTH why they pulled the article? The worst they can tell you is “We don’t discuss this”.

They did and that right there is all anyone really needs to see to know why it was taken down.

Like I said in the GD forum thread:

Seeing as the people working for the site refuses to actually tell people what happened, I would say we most likely don’t have the full story. Even when outright asked if they where forced to take it down they simply spun it around and refused to answer.

that gives you your answer right there… if they cannot be open and say what happened, then it is likely Anet forced them to remove it.

on second thought it could be the employee was fired for posting something he was directed not to….

Or maybe his editor thought it was a shoddy article and had it taken down and the original writer doesn’t want to talk about it because he is embarrassed or furious at his editor.

Many people, even the ones who agree with him on the general idea, felt the article was shoddy in many ways, and his editor could very well be someone who believes as such as well.

And it’s also possible he posted it before getting his editor’s approval. Maybe because it wasn’t clearly stated as his opinion piece.

His reddit responses seem to indicate he got read the riot act and can only say his editor took it down.

Wow. You are naive.

TTH get lots of access and exclusives, then one of thier writers posts a critical opinion piece, and it gets pulled. Hmmm.

It’s not hard to connect the dots. I’ll be interested if any other sites cover this. I bet they don’t.

Since when has any site ever posted anything negative about GW2? The worst I can remember are a few rather bemused, but cautiously optimistic, op-eds.

Stuff like the currently borked to kitten Mordrem event won’t even get a blip while the same sites will rip apart games for similar bugs.

Anyone who’s spent enough time in either industry will tell you this isn’t rare, though what isn’t said can often speak much louder than what is…

I dont understand why they’re barely communicating with us or responding to suggestions.Look at Se where the main dev of FF online even communicates with people on how to improve the game. Our players that have been providing tips and suggestions on how to improve pvp/Wvw are being ingored for 3 years all because you think you know best, and now youre going F2P,well done !

They do know best. Why? Cause they can see all kinds of data of what is going on, something that you and anybody else cannot see. If you can see what they do, then you might be singing a different song to. They can test things out on their side if they feel a suggestion might have some warrant to it.

So their data is telling them that the decreasing WvW community is a good thing for the mode? That people actually enjoy the pirate ship meta? That people enjoy folks being able to build unkillable siege in the citadel on the borderlands?

Do you even think about these things or is it more of an automated reflex?

NPCs blocking key services (AH, Banks, etc)

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

What I don’t like is the dialogue near the Mystic Forge. Ever since the 00s media seems to have become too self-aware of itself. “I saw an asura throw thousands of swords into the Mystic Forge! Zommoros must be armed to the hilt in blood vials and weapons by now!” or something.

It’s funny when you and a friend make fun of something and laugh about it, or a parody medium deconstructs something like Spaceballs or Family Guy Star Wars episode did. It isn’t funny however if in a Star Wars movie the characters themselves are aware of certain plot holes or other audience observations, or Batman being criticized for being a weirdo for dressing and acting the way he does in-universe. Leave the deconstruction to the fans and parodies.

Since Zomorros is an actual Guild Wars 2 NPC who speaks to Miyano whenever he wants to and occasionally to others (presumably other NPCs) and the neighboring NPCs would see player chars throw thousand of weapons in the MF, why wouldn’t they comment on it?

Zommoros is a djinn hailing from Elona, imprisoned within the Mystic Forge. He tends to speak through Miyani, rarely granting an audience to anyone else. He speaks firsthand of ancient times, claiming to remember when the world was emptier and the continents were a different shape. He is also familiar with various exotic races few land-dwellers know of, such as the karka and largos, the former he knows from the ancient past.
Although he is imprisoned in the Mystic Forge, the forge itself is able to be moved, and he can change the forge’s appearance when he feels festive for holidays.”

True, but the idea that one unremarkable individual in the fantasy world just happens to have literal thousands of weapons to throw away does break immersion a bit.

I mean, if we have to acknowledge the amount of crap that gets thrown in as cannon and not simply a game mechanic beyond the forth wall then we also have to acknowledge the fact that it’s a trivial task to assemble that many materials.

Where did it all come from? Are the zombies in Orr literally endless or are there simply billions of them to supply the massive amount of T6 mats that go in the forge?

It’s the same reason that acknowledging the existence of way points was a bad idea.

If they exist, then why does anyone walk anywhere at all? Why did we have to invade Orr? Why not simply air drop a WP at the entrance to Arah and port in the entire army? There’s a few instances where NPC’s refer to gold coins at a much smaller value than they have for players so cost is a non-issue.

this cannot be said for taunt as there is no real counterplay which is unhealthy for the game

If you care about the health of the (spvp) game please feel free to go back to the Ele forum and help contribute to the nerfing of the D/D Cele plague.

not every class has access to stability on demand and taunt can be very problematic for them, especially if it doesn’t let them block or evade it.

Pretty much every class has stun breaks. If they aren’t using them intelligently against a class with few hard CC’s then that is their problem.

I do think it’s funny that they said they wouldn’t release the expansion until it was ready and polished, but now they’ve already picked an official release date before even having revealed the Ranger and Engineer elite specialisations and before Warrior, Thief and Revenant elite specs even had a beta weekend.

Because they don’t care. The least looked after with the least played, ship the rest working no one cares about the other two.

It’s all PR rubbish as usual, say as many buzzwords as you can get the hype flowing, let people buy the game before you’ve done anything and away you go!

Ironically, Ranger is the most played class in the game IIRC.

The statistic was actually second most created profession. That graph was released two years ago for the first anniversary of the launch of GW2. It didn’t track actively the number of players on a profession at any given time, but rather, the number of characters created with that class.

So in that aspect, the ranger ranked second. The most popular classes would, in my opinion, be Guardian, Warrior, and Elementalist, not necessarily in that order. But those are the classes I tend to see the most, especially in PvE.

This ^

Created and played at max level over, say, 300 hours are two very different sets of data.

One includes newbies and people trying the class for the first time or even making an alt for pvp daily.
The other indicates the amount of people who stick with the class as one of their mains after using it fully in most, if not all, game modes for a long amount of play.

Only the ones who flat out say “I deserve this thing and you do not,” because that is literally what they are doing. It’s not a persecution complex when people are actively persecuting you.

They deserve it because they put in the effort. No one is preventing you from putting in the same and most would probably be more than happy to help you to stand there with them.

Get the kitten over yourself. This is absolutely a persecution complex.

The thing is, that car fits my model of the world better than yours, because while some people might be able to afford that car on only a fraction of a year’s salary, then even if it would take me decades to save up, I could still eventually get that car, because I would be making the same dollars as that other person, just in smaller amounts. It wouldn’t be a case where the car can only be bought using “Doctor bucks,” which are impossible to get outside of being a doctor no matter how many hours you put in.

Except there are more than enough cars that are absolutely beyond the reach of someone who may only be able to put away ~$1000 a year starting when they are in their 30-40s. People don’t live forever and they will not just eventually get that car.

The could put the effort in to instead get a better paying position/job to afford the car faster but then that would just prove my point even more.

And please stop butchering posts with misplaced quote tags…

Please understand that this is the situation here, it is not just a matter of “well, they should try harder,” it’s that you asking players to engage in something that might be in great conflict with their lives, and which they have zero interest in, but that they might do anyways if they want the rewards bad enough. That is not “fair” to them when the other side of the coin is people having the time of their lives doing the same content, and laughing about all those “whiners” who want the same rewards for not doing that content.

If you have so little time to even play games then what does it even matter? What are you doing with that minute amount of time that you’re desperate to look as fresh as possible? Do you really want to be swirling mass of particle effects as you run around getting your dailies done while you can that badly?

This whole beef sounds like you just have a personal issue where you let your own self esteem be dictated by others and are convinced they are all looking down on you or lording their shinnies over you.

I can’t even comprehend how you would deal with the inevitability of someone on the street driving past you in car you could never hope to afford.

There are skill points in HoT

Also those will apply to tyria masteries.

That’s also not how MMO’s work. Open world is grindy and repetitive to keep casuals playing. If they run into a challenge where they are making no progress they quit. Instances like raids are for more intense people who like content to be extended by challenges.

How is farming 8 million experience for the last part of a mastery not a challenge where you make no progress? Oh wauw, my yellow experience bar increased by 15% after spending 4 hours doing events today, Im really getting somewhere…

I know that this is an incomplete beta but it has to be said that with the current tools, it’s no fun at all leveling masterys.

I’m not sure what you honestly expect Anet to do about it.

They aren’t going to let people just max them out in the first week of HoT and they will never be able to produce enough engaging, unique content to provide mastery xp over a long term.

If they make it even remotely hard to get the xp but at a much smaller amount, people will rage quit the game. Just look at how many casuals are salty over the audacity of them creating raids with unique rewards.

I do now think it was RNG. Or else arena net what were you thinking about when you pick winner?

They thought “hey let’s pick 2 Quaggans because yay branding!”

I’m sure they would have picked 5 Quaggan emblems if they thought they could get away with it.

And if Anet needs to gate exploration behind grindwalls so people wouldn’t finish within a week or 3 then it is fairly obvious the challenge wasnt high enough and the hard too reach areas to easy to reach.

Making ascended mats time gated is probably a good indication that Anet is not above relying on this.

Prove it.

I’d say you’re making up numbers, because you don’t know the top 20% and can’t prove it’s 20%.

And while you’re at it, provide context that details total hours spent on the character as the amount of newbies rolling a ranger vs the amount of people still playing said ranger 300+ hours later are two very different sets of data.

How I’m sick of people ripping on casuals. Because a person has a job and can only play 1-3h a day,

Playing 3 hours a day after you get home from a9-5 doesn’t make you a casual.

Spoiler: that’s how much a vast majority of players play which is why things pick up around NA prime time and die down near midnight.

If you want to spend those hours grinding nodes or idling in LA that’s your choice.

I think what you mean is you read that pets are never going to be optional and you read it in every post that a dev makes addressing the question.

Pets aren’t going anywhere. No one else lost their class mechanic or got it replaced entirely.

Well, good to see that Arenanet stopped pretending to be innovative about MMOs and openly admits to make just another run-of-the-mill game.

I’ll do raids of course, but too bad that they gave up on their vaunted pushing the limits attitude.

“Push the limits” or “play how you want”

Pick one because you don’t get both in a cooperative game.

Nah, you totally can. Remember, it was the devs that were to push the limits of the game, so that players would be able to play how they want. Both those statements were to be true, just applying to different groups of people.
Now they seem to give up on both.

You can’t keep creating new innovative content that is also so generic that people never feel pigeonholed. They’ve tried it for 3 years and it’s worked so astoundingly well they had to combine all servers into one system, release a paid expansion, and go semi-f2p.

Creating content that requires people to specialize more is the only way for them to move forward and “push the game’s limits”.

“You’re going to have a bad time. But don’t worry, as we’re leaving you a repair anvil at the entrance. You know—to collect your tears on.”

You know who else talked like that about their PvE content? Carbine.

The only MMO I’ve seen butcher itself with a single word during a promo reel:

“Hardcore.”

Game population IMPLODED when players realized if you weren’t a raider you weren’t even a 3rd class citizen. You were barely an afterthought as they realized they’d run 90%+ of their initially playerbase out of the game.

Hell, I AM a raider and I still found the other 6 days of the week tedious and unproductive outside of raid night. Because it was.

See that isn’t actually a ticket to a bad game on it’s own. EvE Online is entirely focused on hardcore open world pvp content with emphasis on both combat and economic pvp. People who just want to lazily run missions or mine asteroids in high sec space are absolutely a second thought. Virtually everything is focused on hardcore players. A whole multitude activities is essentially locked off to you if you shun hard content.

The game has been going for 10 years now.

A bad design is what makes a bad game.

Putting some emphasis on very hard instance content isn’t what’s going to kill GW2.
What is going to kill it is continuing to shovel out easy mode after easy mode designed to appease the lowest common denominator until so many have left out of boredom or a realization that the game’s going nowhere that they gem store simply can’t keep the game profitable.

It’s not about having fun, it’s about if 2 thieves + 8 randoms can do it as fast as 2 eles +8 randoms.

That’s my point.

It’s not about speed. It’s about completion.

If speed is your goal then you’re absolutely going to have exactly one build option and one class option for every member of the raid. There will be an optimal speed comp. That’s unavoidable. There is always a “best”

It sounds like you’re concerned with viability and options for speed clears. Speed clears by their very nature eliminate all options but one. If you think your clear is fastest and someone else comes up with a faster clear, you are now rerolling. Full stop.

You can’t be both looking for speed clears and looking for the ability to play whatever class or spec you like. You’re going to have to pick one or the other.

However, with a week reward lockout, or pretty much any timed lockouts on any rewards speed clears don’t affect earning potential at all so it’s just bragging rights and personal preference based on playstyle and time avaliable to complete content.

This entire argument is placed in a time period far into the future when everyone is aware of the mechanics and have figured them out enough to worry about getting through in record time.

No one is going to approach these in the first weeks thinking “how can I get through this the fastest?”. They are going to be worrying about how to beat it at all.

The very real and reasonable worry is that some classes are just going to be found to be less than optimal to the point that taking them introduces too much risk of failure and they will be shunned like lepers in the same way that current “not speed clear optimal” classes are.

The difference is that you can make a non-speed group for fractals/dungeons. Not so much for stuff that is hard enough that failure is a real possibility with certain group comps.

I support raptors. Also, I’ve wanted mustelids since GW1. Give me a weasel, ferret, otter, wolverine, mink, marten, badger, or honey badger; I’m not picky.

Edit: As a side note, it is nice that ANet actually did their homework on raptors. The people responsible for Jurassic World are decades behind the times…

To be fair the movie addresses why they don’t look accurate. The dinosaurs of Jurassic Park were modified with the DNA of other animals to complete the missing gaps in their DNA strands and to make them look like what we thought they looked like at the time.

It’s covered in the book too.

It’s what people actually assumed dinosaurs looked like during the early 90’s.

Conclusive evidence of non-avian theropods having at least some feathers wasn’t accepted as the norm until after the film came out.

Plus, it’s stupid hard to make CG feathers look good in a photo realistic film.

It’s also worth noting that the “raptors” in JP much more closely resemble Utahraptors in size and build than they do Velociraptors which evolved ~50 million years later and thus could reasonably have much fewer or even no feathers at all.
