After doing a small Poll to see what the community here would like to see for Season 6 Ranked, it is quite obvious that the majority does not want another Season just SoloQ anymore.

Each and every build in the meta has it’s OP’ness but also their weakness.
I agree, as a fellow warrior, it’s a low-risk, high-reward atm.
However, Warrior is kind of in the same boat as DH.
It destroys new to average players but experienced players (yes, even condi necro’s) can deal with Warriors head on.
I am certainly not a pro but when queue’ing I come across Necro’s (maybe alts?) which can just kite me around applying so much chill and cripple after Bers Mode is off, I literally need to disengage or swap with someone else.
I agree Warrior and DH needs tweaking if we are aiming towards a PvP made for everyone (making it noobfriendly and aiming for bigger community).
But Anet knowing, that means both classes (like Rev) will be handicapped too much.
Unless they offer other variants/builds for both to be useful in Conquest.
I do not care that much as Warrior is “only” my second main class.
A good player will defeat an average player, no matter class or build.
Let’s not forget this.
Over 70-80% of the kills I get on Warrior is due stupid mistakes mechanically, lack of insight in fights or bad rotations. (trying to rev downded while I cleave, condi-bombing while Bers Mode is on, using CC’s while stability, using burst while Endure the Pain,.. I can go on)
TL;DR: If I can suggest one thing, it’s making Berserker Stance and Endure the Pain being more visable to players.
Some sort of aura, like Berserker Mode, which is quite visible to see for enemy players. This will stop people (averages) from wasting their CD’s instead of looking at a small icon on top of the screen waiting for EtP and/or BS to pop. This will also grant an easier time for new players to learn what visuals they need to look at
Aura’s:
- Berserker Mode = RED aura
- Endure the Pain = BLUE aura
- Berserker Stance = YELLOW aura (like Vengeance)
Anet should just be carefull not to let it mix colors, otherwise you get a rainbow of clusterfluck of colors when all 3 are popped for some reason.
There are enough ways to make it visible.

The fact it happens with Gw2 only is because GW2 is CPU demanding.
Which brings me to a conclusion that the issue is either your motherboardsocket or the CPU itself.
Try running Prime95 stresstest (for atleast an hour, do nothing while it’s doing the test, go outside or something) and let us know what happens.
If your PC shutsdown within that hour, it means your OC is not stable OR your CPU/socket is baked from before.
The problem is that my vote option is not present ^^.
Keep 1-2 Q and add a full premade one as teamplayground.
And even better add a 3:3 mode ^^.
3v3 won’t hit before new DLC lands, I’m afraid :/

I have submit a support ticket yesterday and already 3 different GM’s are on my ticket.
1 requested a game-test with NCSoft software (check and saw there was datapackage loss between my and their network)
Second GM asked me to do a WinMTR test for half an hour to one of the /ip of the game.
It was clear the highest ping was coming from NCSoft.
Third GM is the best one yet.. asked me to test without my hub and connect my PC (top floor) to connect directly to my modem (totally downstairs).
This would be a good troubleshoot if I would have high ping and lag anywhere, which I don’t. It is only in GW2.
Waiting for GM number 4 now lol…
My opinion is that the best is 1-2 soloq league system + 5v5 “EVENTS”
Realistically the majority plays the solodou system the majority of time. Its finally a working ladder. Ofc tweaks and anti exploit fixes are a part of maintanance but overall the system is working.
Maybe rewards, atm the lowest afk loser gets about 50% of the average maximun of top players. Thats gold, yes the titttle is cool but id prefer a more elitist gold per hour distrubutionAs for 5v5, that happenes at best 1-2hours per day, so my next wish is a 5v5 ingame tournamt system ( daily, weekly, hourly, 8-hourly….)
A 5man que would be too hard and long to constantly peoduce good matches. Also it shouldnt be stealing and competing with the regular main que -the soloduo elo que.
A daily 2 hour period tournament, that doesnt even need a complex elo system, just simple additive points showing you placed top8,8,16,16,32 meaning youre around top15 out of the 40teams that will sign up.
Rewards need to much more unevenly spread like at least 2x more for each next tier rachedSo i want the current soloq to be the main bread and butter, and 5man team more of a limited dessert

Question is, if we have our classes locked will matchmaking force tournament rules on us, I mean 1 class per team only? I would love to try this. yes qtime will most likely increase, but Id rather wait 2-3 minutes more in q than having 10 minutes of a frustrating match with 5 thieves/guards. unranked could still stay the way it is now.It’s hard to say what will happen to queue times if we enforce a hard limit on professions. The compromise is to let the profession limit increase over time.

Do I get it correcty that with the “YES” option, there is no way for me as a player to adapt to team composition? Say, i see we have DPS with no sustain before the match starts, there is no way for me to swap to support, even if this swap would not cause class stacking?

You are correct, but there are trade-offs to both options. This is why we created a poll! If we lock characters on queue, we can do things like use profession-specific MMR, have profession leaderboards, etc.
Aslong you do not prevent class-stacking in matchmaking, the profession leaderboard will be useless.
Alot of matches of mine have 2 thieves in either mine or opponent team or both; which is utterly bad for every non-organized team (SoloQ) unless you’re the best of the best.

There is packetloss but the average latency remains low.
As you can see in the following nodes, the latency remains fine untill it reaches the node right infront of NCSoft.
Packetloss is based upon 4 pings, just like a regular “ping 8.8.8.8”
Does it mean there is no stable connection?
No because it is a snapshot of those 4 pings, with an average of 9ms mind you.
Checking at the node right before NCSoft, that’s where the delay happens.. The response to the ping is taking over 2000ms, which has nothing to do to packetloss, because it would be lower then.
This is a different issue NCSoft needs to resolve.
I’ll run PingPlotter again tonight in different map and see what it does.

I’m totally up for 2v2/3v3 but I’m being realistic, knowing alot of top-notch devs already left Anet, it’s either not coming or it’s coming with lots of balance-issues due skills/traits being balanced for 5 targets/allies.
Not sure what you mean by "skills/traits being balanced for 5 targets/allies.. A skill being able to target up to 5 targets doesn’t make it unusable in a 2v2/3v3.

Almost every profession can be customized for a 2v2/3v3 matchup w/o a node, you just don’t see these different builds because meta is around 5v5 conquest which kind of forces 1-2 builds per profession, kind of sad when you think about the limitation it imposes on us to be competitive. If a deathmatch ranked is introduced, you can be tailoring your build depending on what your teammates are playing to promote synergy while considering the opponents/matchup at the same time.
Not hard to understand: a skill able to hit up to 5 allies/targets is not meant to be as strong meant for 2 or 3 targets, so that’s already a balance-issue.
Certain builds right now in Conquest cannot be defeated in a 2v2 with Druid, like Necro/Druid in Conquest is one of the strongest setup together.
Let me give you an example based on current 5v5 balance in a 2v2 match:
- Team A: Thief and Thief
- Team B: Druid and DH
Who wins with the current balance of Conquest? Do you see the problem?
2v2 and 3v3 will need it’s own balance-team since Anet does not want matchmaking based on classes (for example getting 2 Thieves on a team) so you’ll most likely get a Thief and Thief comp vs OP comp.
They’ll have to make every class + every class work vs every class + every class.

It’s NCSoft servers, wait untill they fix it. No need to go other port because every instance is a different IP address. Which means every single time you go to another map or WP, you have to change port to 80 and 433, which is a waste of energy. And only a temp fix for a problem NCSoft should fix.

5 actually did not fail, ArenaNet just decided to try something different due low pool and weird matchmaking formulas.
Matchmaking now seems alot better so they should try option 5 again, in my opinion.

I believe so too. Out of the testing it’s clear it is very close to their network, right after it leaves NCSoft’s network.
It goes up at the last IP right before NCsoft, which is probably their ISP/gateway.
The other 2 address right after Belgacom are 100% fine

I voted for solo and team (2-5), but in addition I think it should include separate leaderboards and equal rewards. If titles are included then there should be separate titles for solo and team queue as well. Both should have the same map selections as well. They shouldn’t make solo seem like unranked, just have a third option for unranked instead. That’s my opinion.

Yes, but that was riskier. Team-queue would take out all of the risk because during off hours you’d have a almost guaranteed chance of getting matched against your wintrading partners. Moreover you would not have the problem of your wintrading partners getting paired with you instead of against. Worse still with 5man wintrades there are no pugs around to witness and whistleblow.
I support being able to queue teams, but team-only queue is just a exploit waiting to happen.
They could avoid that issue by implementing a querry where the teams have to wait 1 game before facing eachother again, at the cost queue-time.
Should not be an issue whilst prime-time, though.
Ya’ll do realize that a team-only queue would be exploited to no end during offhours right? Wintrading team-only queues would be so easy.

I have to agree with Cynz concerning thieves.
All we got was Acrobatics 2.0, so nothing really changed except for 2 dodges more (traited).“Dodging around hitting people” that’s what thieves do since start of the game.
That’s basically what all classes do, whereas Thieves excel at.It’s a good argument concerning thieves and daredevils, here is the main difference for me. When they first revealed daredevil, a super athletic class with a staff/pole dodging around. Yeah it wasn’t too much different from thief as thats kinda what they already did minus the staff, but it did what it advertised. Dodging even more and hitting people.
Chronomancer, manipulator of time, doesn’t really use much time manipulation, this doesn’t mean I think chrono currently sucks or doesn’t play “well”, but I feel like I’m playing vanilla mesmer if that makes sense. If I wasn’t using the shield and CS I’d probably forget lol
If we are looking at that way, black and white, then I have to say Anet delivered what they said in their promotion about Chrono’s.
Slow makes us attack slower while you can attack much faster (quickness).
You can’t expect a time manipulator in terms of going back into time in PvP, that would even hurt their servers lol.

I only had to open up ports 1 time in my life and that was for CoD’s on PC, which need quite a few ports.

This problem started out of the blue 2 weeks ago so it’s not on my end. (based upon tests in other games and general ping test around to Germany, since their EU servers should be there)
Never had more than 50ms last 4 years in GW2 so it’s safe to assume problem lies somewhere at their side.

Just wanted to point out that connection to my client seems to be unstable last couple of weeks.
Info:
- normal ping: 25 – 35ms
- ping last 2 weeks: 35 – 4900ms (mostly about 35ms but very long times it is between 500 – 4900ms)
- Location: Europe, Belgium
- Timezone: GMT+1
- Playtime: 20:00 – 23:00 GMT+1

I also noticed the startup client had some delay this evening.
I can also confirm my connection/ping in other games are fine, aswel as pinging to 8.8.8.8 (22ms) on a steady basis (ping 8.8.8.8 -t)

2 they(anet) said decay afect your rating in scoreboard, not your mmr , you are in bronze for classification things but in your real mmr for mm
3 in gold plat if you play ofpeak hours can easily be farmed by ESL level players due to lack of population(read the threats about q manipulation)
4 if you decayed you have a bonus of +100 score in a win, that is you thing your mmr is volatile
5 firts matches after clasificatory ones are big reward or big loss
6 whith only 2 matches you think you deserve x position more than one with hundreds?

I’m new to pvp and so far I’ve read more harsh comments than tips on how to improve. Not sure how it would be to hear such harsh comments, or cursing…
Most of the ones calling you trash in comments dont have the guts to tell you that through mic. It has been like that in most games Ive played (Battlefields and CoD’s)
The good thing about it is that you can just mute if there is one troll/flamer.
I would even pay the kitten out of it to get VoIP ingame!!!

I wasn’t around back in the good ol’ days. Was so disappointed when I found out there used to be regular in-game tournaments. Obviously Anet are not familiar with the saying “if ain’t broke don’t fix it”. Think they must be working on a new adage “if its broken, let’s keep using it.”
Yes, we had a few “organisations” (including mine with 2 others called Academy Gaming in EU) that organized 5v5 every week. It got streamed and was supported by Anet by weekly gem-prizes. (2k gems for each player in winning team, 1200 and 800 respectiverly)
But for some reason, it kinda lost attraction, probably due off-season period being very calm and lots of people playing other games.
Also Academy Gaming (now only for NA) has aimed more towards Overwatch, it seems.
If I had the chance to do it all over again, I would but I really lack the time and energy to organize everything from the ground up again.
It took a month or 2 to have fully operating tournemant, with helpfull people as admins helping to PM everyone and get 4 arenas together, with each a watching eye from an admin.
Warrior somehow has gone untouched for a long time. Dunno how when they have some clearly op skills and other skills that are clearly underpowered.

Mostly useless buffs on skills/traits warriors don’t use, but that can be said for every class
