In wvw thief is in an ok place depending if they want to play sustain bunkeroo zerg face tanking, condi unload, condi sustain, power burst, power cc or hybrid. I’m not sure about spvp since there is no crafting math to balance each scenario. Fighting on point is another issues vs boundless green fields.

No need, unlike you I like Tempest. Though I’m fairly sure I could run core ele in a raid. It’s not optimal, but then, as it is Tempest isn’t either. I have zero interest in PvP, so can’t help you there.

We are talking about spvp and wvw. Your EU wvw is kitten come to NA. I still wvw solo roam everyday as core ele it’s fine but it’s more work. You play tempest if you want to heal a havoc and do no damage go ahead lol. WvW in EU is a cake walk….. your average players don’t even know what your doing. Go fight 1v6 and see how far you get with those builds hehe. Ele with only 350 healing power in NA you are dead if you (as in only you and on party members or other roamers) solo roam. Or
you can play Daredevil staff and DP semi cleric, pvt and cav with daredevil runes and you can face tank a zerg frontline and tag or dps people to death slowly lol. You can read that troll build on thief forum, no skill req. Core ele can face tank a zerg with cele, I do it all the time till a reaper sneeze on you! X.X

I have over 9003 hours acct wise since 3 day head start and my ele consist of 4903 hour. I used to spvp back in the day got my wing after season 2 and stop! Just wvw and pve. Hey Tempest was a must in raids and there is nothing wrong in pve. The issue is wvw or spvp you are so limited. There are no real issues in pve lol.

Why do ele shouts have cast times?

Because ele was meant to be a free kill profession! However, everyone loved ele just like in the first game and found work around. Thus nerfs such as gutting base damage via crit and power nerf. Nerf to equipment stats, runes and sigils. They allow the condi meta power creep to grow during the last 2 years. Ele had burn but that was nerfed back in June 2015.

Than you can only play as a solo bunkeroo, nerfed! Than players had to play team bukeroo, nerfed. Now you got a luke-warm, condi removal heal bot that stalls and dies quickly to experienced 2v1 love.

I mean don’t worry they won’t save tempest, they moved on to the next expansion it that seems to be more like core ele self sustain yet hopefull with burst and new condi.

Well I could be wrong. It could be overpowered and lead to core ele’s further nerfs and mechanics removal like current arcane line over 2 years. And when enough copies are sold it would be stripped like it’s predecessor.

At least it will look cool? Till they nerf the visual noise and slow down the animation to make it more readable in competitive game play.

Tempest wvw roaming … as in solo roaming pretty much useless. You need to be in a balance team of helping out a zerg. Even with Harmonious Conduit over Invigorating Torrents you are dead! Playing prime time on NA servers. If not you’re fine and go nuts!

Well for wvw 1v1 and ele can still win Scepter air ele core, fire ele cele 30% to 65% mix with zerker or cleric or some viper or Earth cele ele core mix with power or condi runes.

The issues is ele can do ok but we can’t face roll the kitten out of people. Every class has an instance OMG no defense but absolute condi or power troll burst but ele doesn’t have that. They have to do the dodge roll chain spike and run like crazy or dodge stab combo burn/blind stab stab stab. You have to do like 7-9 executions to equal another professions 2-3 simple attacks.

You have to work harder…. and you kinda support teams but you can say the same thing as everyone else. The key thing is next expansion the sword ele code name dervish, or Zetsuen No Tempest but they took sword from us last year and gave us a war horn lol. I even post gifs from Zetsuen No Tempest and I believe that’s where they took the name. I hope for a happy bunny hopping good time with dual swords. Don’t mess it up! I mean give us a fun name …… just take something mainstream like Celestial, Battle Mage or just give us a great elite like Megumin’s EXPLOSION!!!!

Nothing stops you to play the way you want. You’re complaining about specific content replacing one meta with another. It doesn’t make any difference.

Jski is right. Since core ele is hard to adjust so anet is gutting out core mechanics to reduce their damage in raids thus reducing it in all game aspects since. The have been gutting them since weak 2 of raids. Hence effecting wvw and spvp. Hell they got core ele mechanics prior Hot release to make core eles buy HOT. Play in North America and taste the changes… if you play in Eu hey those 2012 builds are still viable.

You can run core in EU! Hey you can run shirtless play with maybe a build from 4 years ago and still be fine. Have fun in North America. Not happening unless you are targeting brand new players, people that never duel before, or zerg players that use the mouse to click. Or you can play a burn guard but that one trick pony can be countered easily after the first encounter.

Well on crits for ele procures condi dmg yet both of them are on icd and must be on a cirt that may or may not work because its still a % that they will trigger (% of a % are super low odds). So why should necro DC not be on an icd? Ele would love a torment on chill or even just a bleed.

Basically you should evaluate the number of applications per unit of time.

Ele procs are on-crit, but then we have 100% crit chance in a meta comp, making them effectively on-hit. And we hit a lot. Ele’s damage relies on stacking AOE skills which hit multiple times and/or multiple enemies. Lightning Orb, Lightning Storm, Overload Air, Overload Fire, Phoenix, Wildfire, Lava Font, Meteor Shower, Burning Retreat, Burning Speed… And on top of that we’re talking about applying Burning, which is the most damaging condi. Not having ICD on these procs would be broken beyond belief.

Deathly Chill is on-chill-application. They can’t hope to match the number of applied chills per second with the number of our hits per second. That’s why DC needs to apply with 1:1 rate, and even apply multiple stacks of bleeding to be relevant.

First thing Ele can’t use all the skills at once since they are from separated weapons. and some for them don’t even crit. Many non staff attacks don’t trigger crits with ele skills. And who the heck goes roaming with a staff lol.

They should keep it as 4 attunements lol we aren’t noobs I like my 16 hit combo into Senretsukyaku. If I’m lucky you can go Hishokyaku before the person lands. I hope we get mobile combos with nice dps or condi applications (cough* cough* give us some new conditions which can lead to hidden damage) It’s about time ele got tricky fun with fancy rotations following strong cc cleave damages and launches.

Everyone that plays core ele dislikes tempest. It’s ez mode ham that got nerfed so hard it’s just a heal bot condi clear spam bot now. :P Core fire ele pre June 22 2015 roast tempest hands down, hence the epic nerf. If they didn’t nerf it pre hot release no core d/d ele main would purchase hot. Well they will but not for that same drive.

No… anet needs some free kills. To make ele less popular. Ele was most played class for like the last 3 years. Anet always buffs eles a tad and nerf to the ground. Those Mesmer, necro and warrior devs hate ele’s Ele can counter warrior/zerker but in a slow boring battle. Also same with necro, but if someone jumps the 1v1 and sneeze on the ele it dies instantly. (if you don’t have any get out of jail card cantrips left) Ele’s don’t even try fighting high level hybrid mesmers. In theory its an attrition warfare that you will lose in time… got to love perplexity and torment.

1v1 SD Thief semi hybrid condi (plenty of them in DB but the best one is one from VP and some from yak server) second Reapers using spite, curse and reaper traitline on nercor forum you can look it under YUMI from violent tendencies. Hybrid Power rev is another. And certain high Level DHs can take that build in 1v1.

2v1 he can go fast like a ton of bricks if his guild Rev and Reaper 2v1 he go down super fast and he knows that they are in his vids.

If you fighting his 2 man team they sustain is his mostly Tempest and some times they bring a Guard and or Druid. Use that reaper build to cleave one of the sustains down they will explode and you can gut the rest.

The main issues is most people in the vid.. hey I got caught to in the vid is that we are roamers respond to map call with a basic power build self sustain or great DPS. Nothing to corrupt boons or apply great DPS.

Just like with AI guild on yaks that run 15 players of the same build with 1 or 2 Anet players and 10 -15 pugs or Pal or Roll zerg to back them up.

And how do I know this I used to roam with them as a pug and Ash used to play tempest and prior I believe core ele.

And I cover him many times in the past, he go fight a North West Tower solo on 3-4 pugs that don’t threaten hi build. The moment a condi player catches and he is about to go down I run in with my ele nack jack them we win 2v4. Since they aren’t skill and cowardly. Than more come I’d fight them off with more call ele to stall and he will run away on his tempest. And I would die…. that I get a thakn you on Map chat.

Yes been there done that. He’s a good play but he is not god. His team who run with are good people with good communication and builds to work with each other.

1v1 they are players with very good gear and young reflex with a few good build math on the general meta. but if not in a team have large weakness. nothing is purley immune 1v1 or let alone 2v1. or a 3v1.
You’d be gone in a jiffy when caught of guard hadn’t been for your condi clears or healing/buffs shield you from dps. I ran with lots of you guys before. Or with the large guilds that shield you when roaming or the many fellow roamers that died to shield your havoc team.
It’s funny you never mention us btw very sad sometime.

Reverse pre hot nerfs june 2015 on fire traitline and arcane. Also reverse cool downs for trait elements from 20% back to 33%. Add back “Lingering Elements” 5 secs, back into arcane trait line as built in mechanic.

Make an exotic rune set that works with cantrips.

Example: Power/precision — gain 2 secs quickness and cloak on cantrip usage.

or Power/ferocity — gain 3 stacks of might for 24 seconds on cantrip usage.

or Power/tough — gain aegis for 3 seconds and 5 secs regen CD 30 seconds using cantrips.

It would be fun. :P

D/D core ele is fun there are many little modification i’d say like 4-6 variables. Tempest you can have like 12 where you like to core d/d, d/f or /w same with s/d, s/f or S/w or even staff hahaha. But the really solid builds that can dish out damage and survive multiple burst less than 6. LOL also fire is cover damage to creep with little dps and soft cc to hide weakness with air. But if you can’t core rotation d/d strong you won’t know My door is open to Euro roamers. Get on you core d/d in NA and come knock on my door. I can show you the ropes. Your glass build will melt unless you spend the entire fight running from me.

There are no such thing as the best ele or other classes lol. You are limited games mechanics in the build or the opponent you fight. Or the gears, the area of ring in wvw for example ruins, a camp, dueling region behind the windmill south camp or below south sentry. Sometimes fights will be open and that’s not an ele’s benefit to fight in those large open areas vs aka thieves or Trailblazer chronos since their first shatter can by pass your diamond skin or strip you of your boons per kitten.

Ele d/d is very limited many prof can play keep away with us like Warriors, thieves or Druids, Revs and many can reset buff and burst like chronos. Don’t even pick fights with very high level Reapers who have already stacked up their death shrouds and are gear to have multiple chains of boon corruptions.

You see in the game as you play longer it’s build vs build, condi vs power and prof vs prof. Ele doesn’t have insane dps or condi. We have damage over time via 2k, 3k -6k -8k damages that look cool in theory when you see that but a thief or war can dish that damage in a 2222 over 3 seconds or 1 hit with gs and that f1.

We don’t have any insta kitten builds like other profs and that clown scepter insta 18k – 24k spike only works on glass players scholar class profession with out any sort of block or damage reduction mechanic or a player not willing to dodge. It works way better in 2012-2013 pre crit damage nerf and power scale down.

It’s more important to say who picks the most optimal fight and walk away like a boss.
No streamer will ever pick a fight when their builds has like 30% chance beating their opponent lol or zero winning chance. Even the best wvw guilds or spvp players or solo duelers get goated in a fight they can’t win.

So this statement is fake.

Best to say who is a safer elementalist which fights on equal conditions in wvw. Cause if you roam solo on a weaker server, you’re gonna get kittened. Havoc teams hunting random pugs on map means you’re jacked. Havocs premade and on TS built with support, power dps, condi burst chains and cc damage self sustain survival will kitten pugs with builds design to wvw roam.

I think Arenanet needs to make Arcane core traitline a specialization so players can’t mix it with tempest traitline and re-buff both lines so their is a different play style. Arcane trait increase the power, more condition types and stronger cc base abilities when cycling through attunements. Tempest can get its glorious luster of longer auras, f1 dps or condi and team boon share.

I think that’s a way to balance the game and create more diverse builds and should also apply to other professions. So they can’t just optimize in a one does all build, which is kind of kitten. Also that will help with the next expansion with more builds.

I assume we might get sword main hand and pistol off hand next expansion with traps as utility skills. Don’t call us Devish just call us Magus it’s already in the champion pvp title. That should apply to all classes also to save time!

I use your stats 1v1 its fine but 1v2 1v3 1v4 well 1v4 you get shredded. Post a solo roam vs high level groups. Be by yourself. I’m from BP I roam I fight under FA, CD, Mag, DB and currently SBI. I solo I rescue out numbered people getting 4v1 and if lucky I can turn that fight around. I 1v2 1v3 1v4 allowing pve people to flee to safety.

I sometimes turn into a tornado to disrupt zergs of 30-40 players stacking so they cant might stack well so commanders can take a 20 man team or 30 man team to burst them to death. Or sweep them from behind disrupting their charge. You can do that with that low hp, healing and tough.

Power on ele is trivial since base power of 150 -250 power is nothing you might stack around 350-750 power in rotations alone. Lightning whips base power and crit ratios is low 600-1200 stacking with might up to 900- 1800 . Ele’s are like a mini soft condi cc bunny generator. Burns and bleeds when rolled in fighting people = damage.

Please find a high level in EU cele ele hybrid with clerics, crusaders or knights or zerker player to show you this power.

It’s old game play you can find builds back to 2012 or go view it on youtube core d/d ele you either air, earth or fire.

Used to be 10 earth 30 arcane 30 water or 10 air 30 arcane 30 water or 10 air 10 earth and 20 water 30 arcane. But you lose condi removal on regen and it was crazy awesome back than. Cantrips all had stun breakers.

Oh please have another d/d ele from NA come out and say something sigh.

D/D ele was meta in 2013 so that’s 4 years ago not 2 years ago that’s fire ele meta condi burn. Since they burn catnips 3 stacks of might for like 20 seconds or some ridiculous numbers. And no read dalphoenix just like people saying mace shield and GS was new in wvw and spvp since hot. LOL that was used by wars all the time back in day when skull crack was op

Also I was top 250 and best at 70 solo que in NA back in 2014. Pre condi meta power creep lol. NA and EU are not the same lol… I’m not going to even tick you about that

Also fire is a condi powerhouse stacking constant 2k 3k burns on rotations allowing me to fight 1v2 1v3 1v4 with arcane precision. Like tonight I was able to 1v7 in a ring for 2 mins as core ele before help arrive on SBI vs a guild team.

You can always duel me in NA I can send you a guild invite. You have a nice build but is too kitten soft you’ll die easily if focus by a team. Most of the out number your not solo roaming you are team roaming like XT. Teams can buff you and stack you might and get pressure of you. Teams are great. I talking solo like head butting a zerg of 1v 20 and living the savage carnage before rolling away. I mean if you only fight me you would understand.

Since anet nerf condi power scaling and it only actually work a bit after 700 points only.

This forum used to full of voices. Sigh* Didn’t Frowny Clown play condi hybrid he had lots of insight.

Riiiight, because D/W is too complex and we need more autos.

Oh my changes only apply to WvW since the damage is too low and who plays tempest in wvw unless you want to be a lame heal bot. Need more damage to tickle this tanky dps burst classes who use some pve runes that are a tad op.

I finish my legendary back piece in Season 2 had fun in Legendary played against Abjurd and Ezpz. Neh that was core ele at it’s best you can’t do that stuff anymore. No need to play anymore let alone be a heal bot.

However in wvw that’s another monster and play cele with condi burns are fun killing DH, Druids, greedy thieves and scrappers. Core can’t really hurt high level Zerker stun heal wars with defender runes or Condi mesmers (well you can the ones that don’t gear via sutain and uptra tanky prot bots) or the new Reapers hybrid boon corruption spammers who I used to kill easily prior the updates. I just want to have some more power so I don’t have to really or condi burn/blind, boon spam air cc and water clesase and chill. Lots of work of minimal return!

Bring back retro fire trait line and I’m happy with burn damage increase and blinds like its Pre June 22 2015. Restore that arcane vigor regen crit back to 5 secs cd instead of 10. And that alone is way more that enough.

I hate tempest, it’s a lazy unskill bunkering compared to earth d/d ele back in 2013.

Main hand dagger and offhand

Fire

Increase dragon claw damage by 35%

Drakes breath back to a 3 seconds burn.

Fire Grab increase range from 300 to 400 and inflicts 3 stacks of burning if striking burning foes.

Water

Vapor Blade attacks 10% faster and applies 2 stacks of vulnerability instead of 1.

Frozen Burst damage is increased by 75%

Air

Lightning Whip damage increase by 20%.
Revert change when used with Signet of Restoration, this ability will only heal if the second attack executes. Revert to cast healing when first attack executes.

Increase Lightning Touch damage by another 66%

Earth

Impale applies 2 stacks of bleeding instead of 1.

Ring of Earth applies 2 stacks of bleeding and torment instead of 1 stack of bleeding.

Churning Earth applies in addition 1 stack of poison over 8 seconds.

Not possible, until ArenaNet realize what they did wrong with ele. We must understand not all classes are made equally. Before the release of HOT, ele was the balance class since it lacked high dps or conditions with boon and damage mitigations. Hence this class was balance in spvp and wvw. But Pve players made this class a pure dps since the game mechanic allowed it to survive with 100% damage gear only in FOTM and with raids. HOT release made everyone’s specialize class into a balanced boon driven sustainable ele with high damage, hp and sustain compared to their former selves in all aspects on the game. So in pvp world anet said they need to nerf sustain since everyone can use bunker/sustainable amulets since everyone is ele now. So anet removed all those stats in spvp or the year and now nerfing damage in pve thus nerfing wvw.

So the end question is you have to fix the core ele and bring it up to date like with other classes but in order for them to do that they have to also make HOT required in order to sell expansions. Tempest mechanics was the problem, it made ele too bunker so they had to nerf core ele to make tempest seem more viable in decreasing it’s power. Yet maintaining the fact you need to buy HOT enough so the nerfs to tempest aren’t to heavy.

I think anet need to buff core ele and than for the next expansion make a beautiful new spec that doesn’t make or break the game. And not like with the tempest we can’t have a trait line that emulates what all its other trait lines do. Arcane is a a synergy of fire, water, earth and air. Tempest should have be an alternate for those 4 not arcane. Since anet was forced to nerf all those 5 trait lines to make it viable.

So before we even pick a new weapon what are we trying to do with ele?

Seven’s builds are magnificent in spvp and wvw these are great since he plays in euro servers. Lots of these builds like core d/d ele was used in 2-3 years ago in North America before June 22 2015 ele nerfs. I wrote this stuff like 2 years ago. Which applies for his Spvp build getting to top 250 in Europe server and fighting cake. The trend are not the same, so I reason makes 100% sense.

But north Ameican Spvp or wvw ele take it with a grain of salt just like when watching that on their vids. People don’t fight the same and holly crappy most NA people in spvp are condi like hell or stun heal sustain dps like trucks. And most raomers are spvp top gold or plat or fight like that. They are serious players like me who will 1v3 1v7 and will not win but gain the knowledge to fight better in the 1v3 1v2 fights or the big gvg fights.

Also team speak or other communication makes small roam and spvp more successful. 300 healing power on a Tempest let alone an ele in North America can’t wont get you far in a 1v3 or 1v6. I can even face tank a zerg of 1v 20 or 1v30 for the first 10-15 seconds of massive spikes and cc but that’s about it. But 1v1 certain builds will chew through you regardless.

Here are some classic ones from the last 2-3 years I’d spammed here. They are viable but no you ele core rotations very please. I do rotations in all aspects of the game and if a havoc team like XT. Who alone are great but as a team of 3-4 very strong due to build compositions will shred you to death with war condi, tempest healing their team and other hijinks.

Here is a generic fun start bruiser D/D ele core fun for those old ele users via 2014-2015 core ele hijinks from spvp to wvw and yes fire trait was nerfed via 3 might for 20 seconds per cantrips used and burn durations and blind cool down rates, auras nerfed, vigor regen in core arcane nerfed, water healing condi and boon duration nerfed and not brought up to current meta in wvw and spvp standings.

Try this is close to that all feeling you can swap main hand and off hands with, sigils with leaching, sigil torment, sigil of doom any thing seem fitting ele in some fights I have an ascended cele armor set gear with Rune of Balthazar for the mean burn stacks. I have 3 different cele armors runed with different aspects, durability is the balance fight the stand fight balance set if you don’t need to zerg flee just use armor of earth, arcane shield and air sigil to survive cc or damage strikes from thieves and cc wars. regardless if you fight a pro long 1v2 from actually superb people you will get tired. If I fight thieves it can get preety silly.

To fight condi people I suggest runes that give you less boons like Balthazar runes, swap arcane line to arcane shield so you don’t get too many boons of attunements. Sigil of air is a good stun breaker, fire cantrip and another arcane shield. You need to really fight outside that 300-400 range with those necros. When he boon corrupt you really need to break cc and clear condi. Allow his reaper from to engage you but evade and burn cc spike him to death softly. Don’t get greedy and watch out for boons on you regardless if you have only 70hp prepare for a boon strip spike heal of in water attunement and repeat and rinse. Always want to keep life above 80% or your going to exploded.

Same with fighting mesmers but you can go to town with the burning but please remember rotations and have water ready to heal and and use frozen aura. Vsing Mesmer you can swap to earth if req before since you can boom spam more unlike in a fight with necro.

Extra power damage in fire traits make very little difference while sneaking in side condi that ele is lacking like poison, cripples or torment is preferred.

People think your a condi set while you’re really a cele with cleric weapons and some condi side toppings. And that’s core d/d ele in wvw via nut shell. Go watch some Dalphoenix retro youtube vids or other streamers that use his builds.

If they raise base heal level it would counter their nerf back in 2013 thus creating the need of celestial amulet. Prior the removal of cele they added crusader but since they made tempest way to bunker they gutted that and cleric. So you get nothing. Anet
‘s HOT hits way harder than the old maps so they made all the specs for the other profession ele driven. Guess what their armor, hp condi and raw damage is way higher. But if you balance that you kill HOT thus you can’t sell it. Prior to Hot release core ele was way more powerful than temepest like I could kill 2 tempest in spvp. Thus the massive nerf in june 2016. Core was gutted so HOT expansion seemed more viable to pay and win spvp or wvw wise. Next expansion’s Trait line spec will hopefully address the issue and we might get a sword.. But whether it’s OP and nerfed to the ground after a few month, well have to see. Most likely luke warm damage and limited condi damage compared to dagger but the animation and effect would look over the top!

Well I play core D/D ele and every time an Anet Zerker war, or engi or tempest comes at me in wvw I burst them down and cleave them to death and bow to them. Sometimes they get a guild like ai with 15 people and curb stomp me back, Thus resulting to the commander sending a 15 man team to cc and wipe them out. Yeah they hate eles see them as free kills since the start of the game. Ever since the nerfs in 2013 I show them I can still dish it out (wvw only after season 2 ) And tempest is not the golden standard for eles spamming f1 over skillful rotations and soft ccs.

Well you know, it’s hard to balance an ele if you don’t play all aspects of their builds in their respective game types. Let alone play them as a main character to your fullest!

PS they main play only support tempest in wvw on a team.

Still not viable vs most zerker warriors with GS Mace and Shield. Haven’t you guys even wvw at all lol. You see them cleave team easily. My core ele kills 95% of all tempest on field unless they are running pure healing stats and in that case deal less that 15% damage to me. Come on there has to be some serious core d/d ele players in wvw North America and can understand. Most tempest builds are for team support covering havoc dps or condi unloads. Not true solo 1v1. PM in game tell me where and I’ll bring my core ele or go fight some High level Zerker warriors go to warrior forum and call out their vets in wvw. Then let’s talk again.

Not viable in North America wvw you’d get cc ripped and die like a kitten. 1 stun break high level Zerker Warrior would cc cleave you to death with a 1 to 7 of you attack trade. Core ele is way, way more reliable unless you are relying on zerg love. In wvw you get multi CC in team fights or GVG let alone a out numbered zerg fight. Tempest 333 or 133 safer but still you’ die either with earth and water as filler or arcane and water.

Unless you are fighting in Europe you can roll that but no dice in NA. Well if you play in the mornings the pve wvw or oceanic or euro are bad enough to eat you soft cc and damage. However, if you play prime time for example 6pm-12am pacific time you’re in for a treat

People don’t want to change play style since the pve/raids players got used to that style and damage. They won’t be able to carry weaker guildies or pugs who not always use meta builds or aren’t as good. I believe that’s the QQ factor out there.

As for wvw if you play core D/D ele it’s a step in the right direction.

In WvW ele is viable, not top pecking order but it’s better in wvw . Play D/D core. Only issue are some warriors but it’s stalemate in the fight and you should leave in time or you will lose since they have less commands to dish out 3-4 times your damage. Or if you fight a condi thief spammer and you didn’t quip enough condi remove or did not have earth trait line replacing fire. You still have to work those rotations so your doing 4-5 times the amount of work than people just hitting one button to equal your 2-3 rotation chain combo. As for spvp or raids I won’t comment on hehe since without the right stats your a kitten ele doing way too much work for minimal returns.

Darn ele’s d/d can beat Dh variants if they have decent stability and some condition in there builds. However fight a good power zerker speciation with Rune of the defender and that’s a giant problem. Warrior’s if not heavily condi pressure and boon stripped will kill DHs easily if you 1v1 them. There tough trait line base healing and f1 burst heal is not a boon, but a special skill trait so it can’t be corrupted or stolen. That really needs to be adjust in wvw!

D/D roaming not quite viable if you play in North America between 6pm – 2am Pac time. If you play in the morning you can roll the euro casual and pve players in North America. Hey even back 6-7 months ago I can 1v 3 or 1v4 people maybe down 1 or 2 but can’t flag. Most of the nice and spectacular Euro wvw ele d/d roaming vids not viable. If you cross me ele to ele you’d be fighting me for hours lol. Let alone fight 1v5. In reality if two powerful ele’s cross path the fight would last forever with current builds. I’m atleast happy there are still many poorly geared players to kill on euro servers.

DD ele is a dream now it’s nothing compared to what it was pre hot release massive nerfs. Back in the day I can fight off two tempest and dps them to death in spvp rank when pre fire trait and arcane nerfs. Yes it was like be the DH now but way more skillful and way more damage. People would cheer for the D/D eles in wvw and in spvp, we were respected …. but enough of those old memories. Yeah retro d.d ele needs buff since HOT made every prof a superior ele with more damage, heals, conditions and movement skills to escape. Most profs have tough, healing and condtion remove traits in one line. For an ele now that stuff is all spread out and it’s not even great or skillful to play with. You can even make it great with expensive gears, just minimize the flaws. :P

Simply having an elite skill with a cd in the 40 second range would be great. I originally thought rebound would have been an awesome 40 cd AOE projectile reflect for 3 secs + an AOE launch 300 range that would have been fun. Very op but fun.

I created viper ascended armor and tried it with varies sets like celestial, dire or clerics or settlers stats condi damage can only troll hot join spvp. In wvw the condi is useless you are still able to defeat the same class as a normal d.d ele but the gap in fight the other classes is even greater. You still can’t beat a decent condi zerker warrior specialization or a power zerker warrior the gap is even larger not. You won’t even beat a vanilla warrior since the burn intensity is long duration of 1k damage a second useless. Don even try that against a PU chrono Mesmer hybrid or a Chrono Power shatter x2. These buffs are underwhelming not even a buff. Add 10% or 20% damage to skills with very small physical damage but is a condi base damage skill. The buff = to base damage 550 damage a second to 600 and if lucky crit 1k damage on a number 1 skill. Other Classes do around 1.5k or 2.5k and 3k on normal attack alone.

It’s like making fake buffs to make ele feel like they are getting something very small but unique compared to other professions.

No improvements at all….. I rather they say we have no buffs rather this.

Meta >Great >Very Good > A Build > B Build > C Build > D Build. You got that right in spvp. Regardless if you are on TS and have coordinate spike or rotation good luck you are kitten soft but legendary maybe possible being team carried. I could never solo que Legendary under 1-2 hours a day in 2 weeks like in season 2. Hey I hit Ruby in season in week 2 playing even less. Why do people want to be batteries. Rolling ESL back in pre June 2015 was much more fun. Mesmer PU was still OP back in the day. I’m surprised why Mesmer/Chrono never got the same love as ele. Anet close a door for a Mesmer and then opens another one. As ele’s we used to get a window, than a doggie door and for the last years update nothing. What is this build diversity I keep hearing in this game. I’m pretty kitten kitten regarding spvp or wvw right now, I need a hug. Please make us Magical again, you can do it, you did it for everyone else… you transformed them to retro elementlist that can play 3 roles.

ele is bad T.T I lied, I’m sorry. WvW it plays a 7 but in spvp rank it feel like 4. If you don’t want to fix tempest fine. Fix arcane trait line by reverting vigor cool down from 10 seconds back to 5 seconds cause Daredevils have 1 second vigor cooldown on evade. Please revert fire trait line nerf also since it was demolish pre-hot. We don’t even have celestial, crusader or clerics, if we don’t have sustain please give us some retro burst.
Also RTL needs a CD reduction or increase range and speed increased if ele can’t sustain we need to be able withdraw from battle. ANdfinally

Elementalist were not cele by nature. Back in spvp there were more stats you have necklace and gems to split stat combination in spvp For example Soldier Neckalace is 66% PVT and Beserker Gem is 33% PPF and the time it was critical. Then they got rid of gems and had bas attributes only. People complained that power crit so they nerfed and re-work crit that’s why Divinity runes became obsolete. Ele was the first class that go it’s base states reduced and that made them equipment or stat driven. Anet won’t fix that mistake of lowing base damage, tough and healing traits for ele traits and skins. So instead they created the Cele stat. Many class benefit from that like Eles, Engis, warriors, mesmers and rangers. Everything was fine and suddenly an expansion came out that make ever single class a bunker burst that can out burst an ele. The funny thing is that eles are stat driven unlike the other profs with lower hp, low armor and low DPS. Anet was thinking lets make a simple ele aka a tempest so if people play that they won’t complain as much. Tempest became op since core ele was strip of vigor and burst dps. You can’t cancel an expansion so you cut celestial stats to balance game. with less hp but you can still have cleric…. strip that and lets leave menders. But every other class has higher dps, sustain and mobility in spvp stat driven environment.

If they don’t fix their old mistakes and rebalance the class to be less stats driven and more trait or have higher base heal or damage mechanics there is nothing to do. Tempest were used since core ele was gutted. Please correct core ele so tempest can be it’s mediocre self. Need some movement skills with shorter cool downs and some more condi or base power damage. Make people shift away from tempest tanking and leave a window open so a few other builds can be used. Please fix chill effects on attunement swap, anet originally stated it was a game flaw and was not intended to inhibit that class.

Updated play style required it’s like the rev became the old ele and we got short stick below a Scrapper or druid. Wars with regens on f1 burst that can’t be removed as a boon.. Well that’s a tad overwhelming and don’t make me poke fun at DH power creep and Chrono power shatters. Normalizing vigor for ele in arcane tree was wrong since no one normalized the 1 sec cd on evade for a daredevil.

Fire, water and aracane still some what viable as a d/d ele for wvw. Better than Tempest cause when roaming since they are less easy to read and cc than tempest. It’s hard to vs High level power zerker burst sustain or Power chrono shatter shatter. You shouldn’t lose to anything else 1v1. Well you can run from those other 2 if you stil have 45% hp but you have to work hard on rotations to do the same work as 2 buttons from another class.
Fire with burn/blinds greater than air!

In wvw you can have fun in team fights or 1v1 or 1v2 or 1v3. Watch out for the cc and perplexity but you have plenty of cleanse if you play carefully cleave and circle run. You have to roll, dodge or hop. If you can read your opponent you should never die. The secret is attrition warfare if you face a bunker, make sure you have to power to fight +10 mins. I won out of sheer bunny determination rolling almost everyone. And if you don’t want to fight just hope a way. PS you must be very good in rotations like maybe be able to pvp or wvw for 6-8 hours + for best result. PVP, WVW or pve rotation like 4-6 hours a day and till forever. Never stop … don’t give in to the tempest.

I play every single variation of d/d ele in wvw or spvp. You can’t spvp as a d.d ele but I can still wvw… I’ve been playing since beta and since Guild wars in June 2005. D/D ele is fine but they had to nerf it to define ele. So please give us some off hand dagger cd reductions and maybe some more fun in arcane and fire tree. Most of you old school eles fought me in spvp ranks from 2013 or the recent silly you must play tempest in legendary league. Ele is ok .. you might not win but you can always leave a 1v1 or even a 1v2-3-4-5 Unless you get hit with 3 cc and 2 sets of imob. I’m forced touse sigil of energy for extra dodges it’s fun. You need around at least 13.5k hp, 1.7k tough , close to 2k power, 27% crit base no food or other buffs and 600-800 healin power. Durabilty Rune with fire water arcane or air water arcane. In fire use retro build bottom, top and bottom. If you are using air use Top, bottom and bottom. If you are fight out numbers over 5 like a team 5v9 or 10 v 17 use fresh air. The cc air would neat most thieves including SD. if you play conservatively even fire build with burst down SD. You can try to burst down a PU but if you feel that you are unsuccessful just attune to water and dodge roll out that’s around 4-5k heal. RUN LIKE A BUNNY~ The vigor nerf in arcane line is what killed ele and everyone since hot update became an ele style buff bot but with with more damage, hp, armor, ccs, escape skills and shorter cool downs. Being an ele is easy but being an ele that can fight off every build is hard. It’s case per case certain builds are design to instant kitten your ele and while you can run from that heal in 4 seconds and face kitten your opponent in wvw ….. another guy jumps you and gg. This class require lots of love …. how many people still play core ele you can see in wvw. Also eat mango pies nice extra vitality and healing. Anet is not balancing as well as they used to… one hand hard buffs warrior and condi profession and the other nerfs like an angry mistress.

Warrior burst healing on f1 skills are not buffs but is a skil trait that can not be removed or boon corrupt …. so OP. Can we have some thing like that in fire trait like stacking 3 burns will allow an ele to pull a rabbit out of your opponent’s rump dealing 3k damage and 2 seconds of random condition damage.

Elite skills like FGS needs to be rework like make the skin look better. I know no one wants to fix it… but just make it look nicer we can pretend its a buff.

Glyph of Elementals needs to be cuter since again no buffs would be given. Just give us little elemental animals. Eg: a fire kitten, water puppy, air bunny and an earth lamb. That would make us play better and we’d be happy until the next nerf.

Condi ele is not viable in very high level skilled fights versus certain professions.. Any class with more than 3 condi removals can counter it. Also offhand dagger was the superior condi spread was very famous prior June 23 2015 and prior nerf of dagger fire 2,3,4,5. I mean why couldn’t they wait till after HOT released before nerfing that.

I use durability runes I can stack 14-21 mights with no issues. Even with fire/water/arcane I can perm up keep protection in battle in 1v1s. But the point is I can’t kill thieves fast enough, they can reset or play keep away forever. I think we need perm 33% speed trait somewhere.

As a classic D/D I can sustain most fights power res a guy in a 2v5. I know but I used to be able to 12k fire grab with 8k burns over 6 seconds in fire off hands. They nerfed arcane anf fire need to bring it back. My fight consist most 1v3s you can ask Asphyxia we were winning 2v4 and 2v5s till some kitten start fring cannons on us that 3-5 more guys came and you know. The point is wtb more vigor and burst as a retro D/D not a tempest.
