Condition Damage Elementalist Now Viable?

I am also playing condi ele (F/E/W S/F) and the fights are slow. I use earth rune and usually keep a dozend bleeding stacks on my target with some burns added from burning precision so i use serated stones which is important for my builds damage. If my oponent has good condi cleanse using it right the fight lasts very long …
So its not a pew pew thing but definitly funny. I usually run it in roaming with a friend and it works.
Yesterday he reactivated his condi necro and tried it out. We had good fights. Somtimes it was like we fight the first , two added, we figth them get the second down another two added …. long fighting till totaly outnumberd :-). Then i either go down first or flee. He as necro usually can´t escape. I made the experience that i can stand/dodge up to two oponents at least for a while. When the third adds i must disengage or go down. Of course i also use fire. Especially when fight starts. Firewall, phönix is great to start a fight. And air is great to finish one target not lettign him fight back (ligtning, knockdown, blind FTW). So its like start fire and burn the field, go earth for the fight, finish with air. I found i rarely use water in tight situations. Theres no time for healing ^^.

Well i also tried to use it befor the patch and already liked it with 5s. I also feel 3 will be to much. (Had a fight where i just thought O_o, firing 3 blinds in a row the cain was: [teleport + dust devil + magnetic wave + swap air + lighning strike that triggered burn and blind + knockdown from gale + blinding flash] and game over.
I am concerned about the 5s for burning precision. I hoped i can keep one burning stack up when not in fire with it.

Well i can understand the 5s cooldown on ashes. Using scepter that hits causing burning, and also reduced cd would have lead to blind all 3 seconds. Its hard to say if that would be OP. It only ocours if you stay fire. Maybe its OK. But the 5s on burning precision is cripling it.

OMG why ? Burning precision shoul not have a CD, and blinding ashes on 5s makes it booring. This was a reason to take fire instead of air. Some condi damage + blinds instead of raw damage, which would make more active support. Especially burning precision on ICD 5 kills it as real damage option for some burning stacking.
They want fire for staff camping only ?

I use it :-). It fits my build better then frost Aura, but for most builds regen + aura is much more comftable and very strong.

Well i dont like total system overhauls if not needed, but improvement is a good thing. The new trait system overal looks good. It has potential and does not hamper build diversity to much. Thats the theory. The problem is, many traits are not balanced. Across the board there are skills and traits that will rarely be used. Manny trait lines have a weak pick and some skills are just better/more useful. So the next step should be to look at the traits and skills that got the short stick and improve them.
For me personaly i have a vision how to play my ele and came up with something that fits me. The patch will improve my build.I get a full third line and my stats will be shiftet in a way i prefer them. Just loss of vitality hurts so i need to adapt my trinkets.

No tears. I am optimistic.

To do more damage and give loads of bleeding stacks would realy be nice. It needs forever rumbling in the earth but then ^^. Not oneshot but 10k and shure death within two seconds of bleeding would be funny.

The question is how do you measure better?
I do preasure with my condi ele and don´t die within seconds (unless a train rolls over me …)
OK i am lacking play experience, but i am good at planing and seeing how traits work, and i feel condi ele is viable. And i realy like romaing. The Zerg goes for the Keep and i run the camps with a friend. Especially when he plays his zerk thief its a blast. We whipe the camps in seconds and attack up to four players depending on situation.
If you want condi necro, fine play it but they usually can´t escape and after the patch i will have so much condi removal that i expect barely geting in danger from conditions. My teleport is great offensive and devensive and the FSG saves my kitten often.

This is what i see to. Water and cantrips for PvP and WvW or wie die in seconds …. ele ist not unplayable bad, but the options for using glyphs, conjured weapons or spec without water look bad. In PvE you can do it but this game is centered more on payers to battle each other then PvE.

I am not a good Player because not playing long (just hit 80 last week playing about a month). After failing to use my lighning flash till yesterday (aways to late ..) i made it the first time in the offensive to use it for a victory. I had been chasing another ele, and that was a good player. He moved in front of a tower to have an advantage. I used flash to teleport on him (Earth was up) fired 3,4 (I had sceper/focus), so port damage, blind, cripple on him. (Reflect on his response ^^). Switched to air, lighning 2 (triggered burning + blind from precisionashes), cast knockdown. He missed from the blind an i knocked him down … fire another blind from air 3 and blasted him … Well he escaped in mistform into the keep. But for me it was a success in using my ele :-). I guess i will have a lot of fun the better i learn using the ele and think it was a good coince to start GW2 with it. What i ecpect is that i will have troubles chasing other players.
I run a condi ele in mostly rabid gear. The build is not meta and quite diffrent from the signet condi builds. But i am happy about my coice and expect it to be very good with tomorrows changes.
Just funny i blastet the ele with mostly direct damage. But my high precision works well for that.

I think that the Geomancy Training trait should be “Gain condition damage based on 10% of your toughness attribute. Earth abilities recharge 33% faster.” This helps out with bleed stacking especially on staff and gives condition elementalists recharge reduction trait that is useful if they want to build for damage.

This would be great. :-). But what will be left as good master trait?

Condi ele can be build better then befor. That does not mean its always a good coice.

I am leaning towards F/E/W.
I would like to try A instead W but it feels like making me unable to survive. I just get to much healing/condi cleanse and team support from water to skip it. I even have te feeling each ele will run water + two other that fit him …

To get on the topic.
I am not disapointed. Ele changes are neither bad nor realy good. Eles suffe a bit from vigor reduction, and HP loss and Get overall good trait lines. Build must be rebuilt but that was expected.
Conjures, glyphs, tornado still getting the short stick. A few traits can´t compet with their counterparts. Adressing conjures and glyphs might solve that.

Some small changes would help.

Move cojures to water master. Give vigor to whoever holds one instead of the aura.
Move cantrip mastery to air master.
Move glyphs to fire master and make it -33% not 20.
Move one with fire to adept.

Trait rotation for diversity.

the move signet to elite sounds fine but then the signet should propably be better like release a strong damaging chain lighning that blinds on use.
As cantrip i would move mistform to elite and give it 1 second more.

Well for me arcane is not mandatory. It´s tempting but i feel i can leave it out. But water seems just to good to drop it. And cantrips look much better then using sigents or glyphs. Someone might use arcane sills at least i thought of going arcane instead of water and play full arcane skills for burst damage. Go in fire, kill, die ^^.
For traits it overal looks good. Conjurer is meh and can´t compete with the other two, rock solid looks to short (better 3 seconds), stop/drop/roll is nice but the ohter two options are gorgeous.

Air and Fire is fine. Water is mandatory … Arcane is good and will beat taking fire often. GM earth now offes nothing realy good for active ele swaping. Signets lost theit main build, Diamond Skin is unreliable. Stone Heart needs staying in earth, which looses utility.
For PvE Staff fire becomes realy nice.

But what if i want a second one for a relative and trasfer a character? No Problem if the new one starts from 0 with alss account shared things. Just trasfer a char with all his stuff and skills.

A character transfer would be nice. I would buy the full packet and split. Oterwise i guess i wait. I am not intrestet in new classes or specs so no hurry. If the new specs are OP to the exising i might even quit.

I sse the point. Somehow there is not so much diversity to go waht you lik. There are good builds but is don´t see very much competative options. Bunker Ele got better … LoL. Condi ele got Power Overwhelming.
I always see water in the build, and cantrips. That feels a bit booring.

I would swap Soothing Disruption with Inscription!
also Arcane is pretty strong for very active play and the moving,dodging eles rolling around in PvP will take water + arcane.
Eles did loose the signet/aura build, got a bit of buffing but in the end stay the same.
Also some traits are poor and will rarely been taken.
I like the change but it could be done much better by assigning the traits a bit elswere …

An the conjurer skill is poor. I can´t realy see it will be taken over Burning Fire or Burning Precision.
substitute the fire aura for a -20% recharge on conjures and make them instant cast.

Oh yes i look at glyphs and ist a pitty. Somewhat cool but always loose against cantrips …
For me personally change the position with stop,drop, and roll ;-). That would be huge and i can imagine more glyph users. (yes i know it will break a bit tieing glyphs to Air.).

I would find it very nice to have a ele choose for weapon swap instead of elemental swap. Like coose one primary and one secondary element and tie a weapon set on it. Like primary d/d air, seconday staff water and swap theese two :-).
More options for building. Range/utility diversity in the build for some loss of utility. I guess this would be easy to implement.

Well the new system itself looks fine. Also the removal of stats on trait lines. the goal is good, but…
I feel many traits are not competative to others beside them. I expect a coorection update and bugfixes following …
One thing i think:In a game like GW2 balacing will be focused on PvP/WvW! It becomes ridicolous difficult to balance huge class and trait diversity also in PvE. So PvE will propably get the short stick just looking at i not to get totaly out of control.

Now i am 80 (crafting guide ftw) an my friends sponsored me an exotic rabid set + traveler rune. I am running to get more traits now to finish my build.

Well it seems the signet builds get hit hard with the upcoming changes. Its sad to weaken it. Well for the build i imagined all is there .. Just in earth major there are now two traits i want.

Leveling Help - Elementalist Style!

Hi

I am new to the game and levling. (45 now)
I use equipement i find and keep the + power and precision.(Rest is salvage).
I level by moving around, taking events that pop near me, forage whats in my way and doing the daily´s (finish three! Yes i go to WvW if needed for that). Thats about two level per hour using the extra XP items i get. (I did´t use the + LvL and save them).

I useed staff and now train scepter. Mobs die no matter which weapon i use. If i want AE i use fire, otherwise earth and sometimes air.

Camping options should not be bad. But they should be options just to give more build diversity. And camping must not mean you never hit the F keys … Even when you stay in one element most of the time it is viable to rotate.

The blind on burn was pretty fine and fitting. Maybe just a bit less cooldown from 5 to 4. Puting it on crit feels like a big nerf. I agree when put on crit it fits more to air but ist completely diffrent. I want to use it with burning.

Well what about a massive reduction in turret recharge time to get the balace. So you have active play.
Turret dies, engi sets a new one in another spot.

I am levling up and folowing my friends in WvW. I can´t use the build now and with my poor gear i realy take huge hits. By not reacting fast eough i usually go down (and then always think why didn´t i hit 9 fast or 5 and so on ^^) But thats the way it is with a newbie. I am shure i will get them in the future :-).

What is a fact. I usuall don´t have earth up. I am in fire (sometimes going to water). Thats because i give support to my comerades (Fire field and blowing Phönix in). Earth is usually the last one to go in and so i will get the full critical on being surprised annyway ;-). I need some ranged AE support in earth gg

As utility i currently use cleansing flame (which is realy useful, signet of air and arcane shield. Have to look at my skill points. Don´t have to much at the moment.

Hi

I am completly new to guild wars. Frieds tried to get me to GW2 for a long time :-). Now they made it.
I stared as an elementalist and just made LvL21 …
I am a tactician and strategist. Played DAOC years ago.
I always try to play diffrent and surprise my oponents. I hate copied cooky cutter builds and always try to smash them :-). I design characters myself.
First i had been thinking on the cepter, then came to the staff ele as i usually am a totally supportive player and like long range, and looked at signet based. When thinking and playing with the builder i turned away from heavy water going fire. (Earth and not making it complicated is my base). My build is some kind of hybrid going more power then condition damage and i would like to try conjures for burst damage.
I think i still miss a lot of things and will adapt the build but it is a similar direction of a non squishy ele that makes glass cannons whine.
I just enjoyed finding your posts of Stone Heart elementalist after reding all that stuff from D/D and attunement swaping elementalists. Of course i did see that starting in another attunement ist good :-).
So my build i like to try will have the base you have but also be quite diffrent. It swaps out some condition damage for direct damage (still burning evrything of course) and don´t use a signet going earth armor and cleansing fire + flame axe (fast atacks, might stacking, evade, burning and leap). So i have two cleansing fire at hand that will burn oponents.
