The prize list is looking awesome!! Thank you to all the volunteers and organisers for all the hard work so far. Can’t wait!
This is coming up soon! Very much looking forward to it…hope the EU players will do us proud!
Howdy EU folks!! Hope you’ll join us to help raise materials donations for the Pink Day In LA event on October 17. If you can’t make it tonight, please consider donating a portion of your farmed mats to Yailith.4056, the founder and organiser of the Pink Day In LA event. Thank you!!
^^xadine.7069 Sometimes it is nice to get just a ‘thank you’, spelled out, with nothing else attached. I totally agree, the players that post here with constructive criticism do so out of a love for the game. I just think sometimes, a thread like this with no criticism attached, constructive or otherwise, would be a nice thing to read. An example: I know my family love me by the things I do, but it is really nice when they say the words too. And vice versa.

We have a guildie with epilepsy who can’t play certain elements of the game because of the effects. Our guildie had a really bad time of it with one of the fractals – a snow blind one. CoF is another that is a real problem and can’t be played. The flamethrower on the engineer is a ‘repeat offender’ as well. For me – well some of the effects can trigger migraines if I’m playing the game for too long (zerging in EoTM for example).
I love the slider suggestion….if devs could give us the ability to tone down the effects and soften the patterns (white on black for example), that would be most excellent!
I wanted to say thank you for your continued efforts to engage with the players and fans. It can’t be easy at times with lots of negative feedback when things go wrong. GW2 is a fantastic and beautiful game – I’m very much looking forward to playing it as it continues to evolve (roll on HoT!).
The things I love about this game are what keep me coming back, persuading others to give GW2 a go and to set up an EU guild directory for all things GW2. I love that I can play with my daughter in Tyria, there is no node or loot competition, doesn’t punish the casual player, beautiful landscapes, interesting content, lots and lots to explore, and you don’t have to use game mods. GW2 is not ‘buy to win’ and in fact is I think fantastic value for money, so much so I don’t mind buying gems from time to time for the fun stuff that pops up in the Gem Store.
I am a very proud 50 year old mom of two primary school aged children and a wife. One of my hobbies is playing MMOs – my husband got me started on WoW back in 2005. I’ve been playing GW2 since the first pre-release Betas. GW2 has been a wonderful escape at times because I’ve been doing battle in real life with breast cancer. I’ve had it 5 times since 2008 and am currently in treatment for my most recent occurrence in June.
Being able to hop on my Ranger and play with my online friends and my daughter has given me many hours of fun and some of the biggest laughs I’ve ever had playing an MMO. I have ‘met’ some great people, made a few good friends and have lots of fond memories. Thank you Arenanet peoples!!
Heya kid (yeah you Karis!)…
There is a really great international multi-gaming guild called TOG – The Older Gamers. My husband belonged to them when he was playing WildStar and later Destiny…anyway, seem like a really great bunch so if you haven’t found a virtual home, they are a good place to try.
http://www.theoldergamers.com/forum/
It looks like they are on Yak’s Bend but that will really only matters if you want to WvW. If you join and find you really like it, you can always transfer servers (for a fee, don’t know what that is, depends on the server you’re transferring to).
You can tell them FizzyPetal sent you, wife of Mr. Moomin.
All the best,
Fizzy
PS: I’d offer you a home, but we are EU.
We need people to help spread the word in game, especially on the EU side. So many people don’t know about Pink Day In LA and what it is for…many greet our adverts in map chat with skepticism – they seem to think we are scammers after free loot. We are doing our best outside of game but we can’t reach everyone that way.
Howdy fellow Tyrians on the EU side!
Most of you hopefully will have by now heard of and are planning to join the Pink Day in LA event on 17 October. If you haven’t, an excerpt from their page:
“Pink Day is a yearly event in support of Cancer Research and support for those who have lost someone to cancer or currently battling cancer. We get together for 6 glorious hours of awesome fun and encourage players to dye their armor pink and give back in their own way on this day!”
We all know someone who has had kitten diagnosis – and many of us will also know some one that died from the disease. The Canadian Cancer Society is the chosen charity for Pink Day in LA as they participate in international cancer research. Their research not only enhances the lives of Canadians, but also adds to the knowledge base within the global science community helping the many millions around the world that are diagnosed with cancer every year.
For people that donate real money to the charity (minimum donation is $10), there is the chance to win a laptop, GuildWars2 memorabilia and many other pretty great prizes.
In game, people that participate in the Pink Day events have a chance at winning materials bundles such ectoplasm, Ascended gear materials bundles, exotics, legendaries and precursors.
To make the in game prizes possible, Pink Day In LA organisers need materials donations. To help out, RoC [Reapers of Corvus] are hosting a ‘Silverwastes Nukefest’ on Monday 21 September from 19:30 UK for EU players.
At 19:30 UK time, meet at Camp Resolve Waypoint in The Silverwastes with plenty of bag space, your axes and picks at the ready. In addition to doing some Mordrem pruning, we shall be chopping and mining mats as we go along. Yellows and lower level gear is broken down for the mats. Exotics are left as they are. Any portion of your farming that you can donate would be very much appreciated. The event will last about an hour and a half.
If your character isn’t high enough level for The Silverwastes, you can still help. Some of the lower level materials such as cotton, linen, iron and so on are used in time gated Ascended crafting materials and are most welcome donations.
Please send your donations to one of the following:
jknrich.1549
fizzypetal.7936.
All the proceeds will be passed on to the Pink Day organisers.
If you can’t make it to the event, no problem. As you travel around Tyria in the coming weeks, please consider donating a portion of your materials farming when you are adventuring. All donations gratefully received!
This event will be live streamed on www.twitch.tv/djangozapp so dye that armour pink, break out your Pink Quaggan Backpack and join us for some fun!

I didn’t think about the saving of some as mementos. Nice catch! Maybe a better solution is as StinVec.3621 says and that would be to have a tool tip that says item is safe for deletion or there is another achievements type tab that allows you to store them.
Howdy Fellow Tyrians!!
I started this thread, formerly named the ‘Thank You Thread’, in the hopes that the GW2 Community would post their ‘thank yous’ to ArenaNet for working so hard at creating a game fans/players would enjoy. I thought it would be awesome if they received some positive feedback and a little snapshot of the players behind the characters throughout this beautiful virtual world. Seeing as how the post had a few hundred views and only two responses originally, I suspect there was a problem with how I communicated what I was asking for.
As the wife of an IT guy who has been for many years one of the unseen people working in the background at keeping things smoothly running, I know from him how disheartening at times it can be to only be noticed when on the rare occasion something breaks. Never receiving recognition for the fact that the majority of the time, all is working as intended and clients are happy.
Going through these forums and seeing all of the criticism – constructive and not – (especially the not constructive posts) towards Arenanet and other players – well, I just felt moved to try and get something together that might bring a smile to people’s faces.
So what I’m after:
What you like about the game
Who you are behind your character
What the game has added to your life (if anything)
A thank you
I get that there are those who prefer to remain anonymous – so feel free to skip the personal stuff. It would be great to see more people posting some kind of positive feedback to this thread though, so I hope you’ll join me in showing appreciation to the folks at Arenanet for a job well done.
(edited by fizzypetal.7936)
Suggestion to ANet: when quest or event items become obsolete, either because the event is over and not going to be repeated or the quest chain objective has been completed (as in the case of the Star of Gratitude quest line), associated quest items disappear from player inventory. Bag/Bank space is premium so it would be really, really great if a feature like this could be implemented.
(edited by fizzypetal.7936)
Yay, thank you GW2Community!!!
Howdy ArenaNet!
I’ve been hanging on to some items for a very long time because I wasn’t sure whether or not to destroy them. I was hoping that once the events were finished, the items would simply disappear, but that hasn’t been the case.
Are the following now obsolete or are they useful in some way that I don’t know about? Should I be deleting them now?
Orphan Laine’s Letter
Krait Obelisk Shard Transcriber
Evon Gnashblade Representation Buttons (are these going to reappear at some point)
Ellen Kiel Representation Buttons (as above)
Fortune Scrap (I have 209 – are these going to reappear in game again?)
Marjory’s Journal
Queen’s Gauntlet Entrance Tickets
I think that is it…
Thank you!
Also…look out for Pre-events in your time zones. In addition to the Quaggan Waddle which will be on both NA & EU servers on 27 September, the EU volunteers will be organising donation farming events such as this https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/events/EU-The-Silverwastes-Nukefest-pinkday15/first#post5492645 in the run up to the big Pink day!
A question was asked on one of our event announcements on Facebook – that is – why do we want donations of wood and cloth?
There are two types of prizes/give aways happening on Pink Day in LA on 17 October – real world and in game.
The real world prize list can be found here…
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/events/Pink-Day-in-LA-Official-Event-Thread/first#post5489835
There are some very good prizes on there – for $10 you can be in with a chance of winning!
In game – this is where the cloth, wool, ectos and T-6 materials come in. These will be bundled and given away during the Radio Show and part of the prizes that will be awarded to people participating in the Pink Day In LA events. The events will be a good mix of challenges and a bit of silliness so there are chances to win for everyone who participates. You don’t need to have donated anything to be in a with a chance of winning the in game loot – but the more donations that are received, the more that can be given away and the better chance you have of doubling or tripling on your donation.
:D
As a 5 time breast cancer survivor currently undergoing chemo to mop up any stray cells that may have gone on walkabout in my body, I whole-heartedly support this initiative and in fact, have along with many others, volunteered time to help raise awareness, fundraise and lead events for Pink Day 2015.
While I might not see a cure in my lifetime, research is what is keeping me alive so that my kids don’t lose their mom while they still need me, my husband doesn’t lose his wife (before he’s ready to trade up for a newer model, ha!) and my best friend doesn’t lose her soul sister any time soon.
Cancer Research is a global community – results from trials are shared around the world helping medical professionals tailor treatment for their patients. So it doesn’t hugely matter what country you live in when your donations are going to cancer research.
Since originally being diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2008, I have reaped the benefits of Global research and am currently on a fairly new chemotherapy agent that is targeted so it nukes the mutated cells, and not my healthy ones. The hope is that I will have fewer side effects and all of the mutations will get picked up thus keeping me in remission for a much longer time than previously.
Had it not been for this research, I may not be here today.
Please consider donating real money – if you can’t and not everyone can, especially in this economy, consider alternate ways of helping. Spread the word about Pink Day, volunteer to help run events or give a portion of your T-6 farmed materials to Yailith.4056. Most importantly, try to participate in the pre-events and the main event! You’ll have fun and it is for a very worthy cause.

Thanks a bunch Centurion!
If you are an EU Guild/Organisation or Streamer, and don’t have time to post your guild details on euguilds.com, please post a link to your recruitment thread here. I will post up a thread on your behalf.
With the HoT expansion around the corner, more players than ever will be looking for a home. euguilds.com is a free additional easy to use resource for getting your community noticed and for players to easily find a guild or community that suits their interests. euguilds is more than just a guild directory – there are boards for community, fan, news, reference sites and more. If you are a live streamer or community leader, another place to broadcast your presence.
euguilds.com is now listed in the GW2 offficial Wiki. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/List_of_fansites
If you are an EU Guild/Organisation or Streamer, and don’t have time to pop on over and register your guild details, please post a link to your recruitment thread here. I will post up a thread on your behalf.
Have sent you an ingame mail
Over 10k page views this past month. If you are an EU community/guild leader or live streamer and haven’t posted your recruitment post or community/stream links, what are you waiting for?
A couple of new entries to the directory today – one is a Portuguese guild on Seafarer’s Rest. If your guild/community speaks a language in addition to English and is on an English Language focused server listed in our directory, feel free to post a recruitment thread to the directory. This might be stating the obvious – the thread must be written in English. Thank you!
Belong to a community that is looking to grow? Do you live stream your play and would like a larger audience? In addition to posting your message on the GW2 forums, pop on over to euguilds.com. Posts don’t get buried so no need to constantly update to be seen. You don’t need to register to view or post and the service is free. We’ve had nearly 10,000 page views in the past month. You’ve got nothing to lose but the time it takes you to copy/paste your message into a thread.
Did a check on Guildex.org and there is no guild registered by that name. It is possible they haven’t been to the site to add their guild. Your best bet would be to hop into a few maps and ask in map chat. I’d start with level 80 maps…check in WvW too. Hope you find the guild you are after.
(edited by fizzypetal.7936)
Top tip: If you are a PvE, PvP, PvX or RP Guild, consider putting a listing in both your home server and general server boards. There are quite a few players that do have a server preference. Plus it gives your guild twice as much exposure.
On another note…we are now at 24 active guilds.
Are you in NA or EU?
I’ve added this to euguilds.com directory – if you would like to manage your own recruitment thread, please hop on over and post your own. Once yours has gone up, I’ll take the one I put up down. You don’t need to register to post and the service is free. It is there as a complement to the GW2 forums, not a replacement.
As people often check the individual server section – what is your home server? Twice as much exposure to have your recruitment thread in both places.
Looking for an EU guild? There are currently 22 active guilds listed on euguilds.com. Most are PvE and PvX but there are a couple of PvP and WvW (Far Shiverpeaks & Ruins of Surmia servers) on there too.
I’ve had some feedback from one guild to say they’ve had new recruits through euguilds.com so the site is working as intended. Site is attracting a lot of attention (nearly 9,000 page views in the past month), the interest is definitely there. It would be really great for the EU community to have lots more guilds posting their recruitment threads. If you haven’t put a recruitment thread up, just copy/paste your thread here and post up in euguilds.com. You don’t have to register to post so really couldn’t be easier.
:D
Yay!! Relics of Orr following us on Twitter! If you haven’t heard of them, do check them out.
https://twitter.com/relicsoforr
Their Twitter feeds says the Pink Day in LA event this year will be on 17 October.
Howdy! Finished updating the boards…have a handful of guilds I’m waiting to hear back from (hopefully they are still going), but otherwise all current. If you’ve had an ingame message from me, please reply asap. Thanks a bunch!
Howdy folks!
Currently doing some housekeeping for the directory so if you receive an ingame mail from me, please reply ASAP. If you haven’t posted your guild, community or live stream advertisement, what are you waiting for? Is free and you don’t have to register. The more people that know about and use the directory, the greater the exposure for all.
The boards updated so far…

GW2 News, Fansites & Podcast Sites – 22/08/2015
GW2 Reference Websites – 22/08/2015

PvE – 19/08/2015
PvX – 21/08/2015
PvP – 21/08/2015
RP – No entries
Server Specific Directories
Aurora Glade – All Modes – 21/08/2015
Blacktide – All Modes – 21/08/2015
Howdy ClaraFee!
I am currently updating euguilds.com – removing dead links. For your reference Looks like EU Desolation community site is no more. 404 error. The link to EU Blacktide also leads to oblivion. EU Fissure of Woe hasn’t been updated in nearly a year. EU Underworld – the link goes to a placeholder page stating the domain is ‘in the marketplace’.
I checked the Twitter links to Aurora Glade, Far Shiverpeaks, Gunnar’s Hold, Ring of Fire and Whiteside Ridge. The Twitter accounts either haven’t been updated in a very long time or have never sent a tweet. Their community websites however are all active and current.
Anyone clicking on the Twitter link above and landing on a dead Twitter page may think the community itself is dead – some people just won’t make the effort to go back and click on the community site link.
For now, I won’t include the Twitter links on the euguilds.com community boards but our Twitter account will follow them. If an account returns to life, I’ll add them to the euguilds.com listing for that community.
(edited by fizzypetal.7936)
Howdy folks! Some of you may or may not have heard of euguilds.com. We are an English Language Focused Server Guild Directory. For more info…. In a nutshell, it is an uber organised directory of European guilds and communities.
It is what I would call a slow burner – partly because I took my foot off the gas as I was moving house. Now that I’m settled in, I have a bit more time. The site is receiving a regular number of hits – the more that register the more hits it will have thus helping guilds and community leaders get their recruitment messages out there and players find a home.
For Live Streamers I’ve set up a new category at euguilds.com. If you are live streaming GW2 and would like to have another free place to advertise your stream, please head on over and add your stream to the boards. The service is free and you don’t need to register to add your post.
This is not a replacement for the sticky post here – GW2 have posted this thread so they can select a streamer to feature each week. euguilds.com is in addition to this thread and serves a different purpose – giving players another place to advertise increasing the chances of being noticed and gaining more followers. And did I say it is FREE?
:D
(edited by fizzypetal.7936)
Checking in…wanted to confirm that euguilds.com is still alive and well.
Listed under Additional resources as EU servers English language guild directory.
Howdy folks! It has a been a looooooong time since I updated this thread…I blame my house move! Now that we are situated and life is a little calmer, it is easier for me to find time for GW2 (yay) and admin stuff (not so yay, but necessary). I have started tidying up euguilds.com so that only active guilds are listed. If you are currently registered, lookout for ingame mails from me asking the question – is your guild still active?
For those not familiar with euguilds.com….well the super nifty thing about the directory is the ease of use. Guild leaders don’t have to bump their recruitment threads to be seen and players don’t have to sift through hundreds of posts trying to find a guild on their preferred server or doing their preferred activity.
If you’ve not checked out euguilds.com, hop on over. You don’t need to register on our site to list your guild recruitment message or to view existing recruitment threads. Easy, peasy!!
I did the same thing…I have a post up asking the same question…https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/Glider-Skin/first#post5160961 I’ll rename it so others can post to it as well…glad to see I’m not alone btw ;D
Howdy…
Think I made a mistake and sure hope it won’t cost me. I clicked on the glider skin to add to my account. It did the usual thing when you click on a new item to add to your account. However, I can’t see it anywhere in my wardrobe.
After the fact I went back and read that the glider skin wouldn’t be available until HoT is released.
Will I see the skin somewhere after HoT is released? Or should I have put it in my bank until HoT is released? Is it gone for good?
sits in corner with dunce cap on
Quite a few guilds are listed in euguilds.com, but we know there are many others that haven’t yet registered. If you are guild or community rep and you’ve not yet posted a guild advert, head on over and get that done! On average we have over 100 page views per day.
If you are player looking for a new home for your pixel toons, head on over to the site and check out the listings.
If you are fairly new to GuildWars2, there are some links there to community, reference and fansites that might just enhance your experience in Tyria.

No Guild Chat
Guild Build System – only allowing one perk to build at a time.
As reported by others, Guild Chat isn’t working. Messages typed in to chat are not displaying on screen.
The other issue is that the Guild Upgrades build system isn’t working either. I noted that of the three things we had building, 2 completed early leaving one still building (the Asuran Outsourcing for us). We have 5 things sitting in the queue waiting to be built – but nothing is moving into the spare build slot.
Thank you for registering [ION]
…. If you haven’t registered yet, mosey on over and put up your details.
Howdy folks….
A little tip when putting out your looking for guild or guild recruitment posts: please include in the Topic Title [NA] or [EU].
Seeing a lot of posts recently where neither region or server preference (if there is one) is not in either the title (which would be best) or anywhere in the thread. At least with a server mention, we know what region you’re advertising for.
For EU guilds…if you have haven’t yet registered on euguilds.com, please do so. Is being visited very regularly every day – it is way more organised than the LFG and your posts won’t disappear.
For players looking for a guild on an EU English language focused server…toodle on over there as well as some of the guilds that have posted there and are very visible may be buried on page 30 here so you might miss something good.
Thank you
