You know why escorting dolyak event has been suspended? Massive amounts of players and bots had been following dolyaks all day doing nothing else to just get the rewards for the event before suspension.
Can't unlock the vault door at the end of the jumping puzzle post patch.

Same problem here. Someone even went as far as constructing a ram at the vault door.
Lol, at least this bug forced most players to really play WvW instead of wasting time jumping.
I feel your pain, but right now nobody can do anything about it, just have to deal with it. Try to run with a zerg from your own side.
Just leave the puzzle alone when you can’t do it. Problem solved. When your server controls all 3 keeps in EB, you can do it however you want. Or just transfer to a server that controls all 3 keeps, I’m sure there are multiple such servers out there right now.

The best move I’ve seen SBI did was camping Pangloss Rise Cave with 40+ group and 10+ siege weapons inside. For those of you not familiar with the map, it is the supply camp to the north of Ogre camp in EB. It’s red’s (JQ) territory. I can understand when JQ controlling SM, you want to starve supply of SM, but when green took back SM, SBI still camped Pangloss Rise multiple times. Can anyone from SBI bother telling me why? It’s just a camp worth 5 points per tick, is it worth 40+ players holding it for a long time? Or it’s just standard procedure of SBI server to put down 10+ siege weapons whenever they take a camp? I laughed so hard when I saw those siege weapons, I said to my server channel “they have more siege weapons in the cave than HoD had in SM lord room”.
It’s just mean to base camp like that. I would rather let them attack the keep and get some event rewards and keep defender title progress.
Now it seems every time I die is because of this rendering issue when suddenly you are surrounded by a large group of enemies out of nowhere.
The real problem here is invisible enemies. Give their algorithms time to match servers properly.

Making this issue worse is that some organized big guilds and alliances run deliberately in large groups and ball up together to exploit this engine deficiency. I don’t know if anyone can do anything about this. But this makes small groups less viable and encourages zerging. We need to see and judge enemy numbers from a much farther distance, at least 2 times skill range, 2500 – 3000. Another possible solution is to show enemy as red dot on minimap like the green dots of your allies in a range near you.
Like last night…I was part of a raid on a keep with an orb. We teleported (literally, witha mesmer) in, grabbed the orb and snuck out before they could chase us. I followed the orb carrier all the way to our keep.
Is this some kind of cheat or hack? Anet supposedly banned the teleport gun in WvW. How can a mesmer still teleport a big group of people into a keep? The mesmer just hid somewhere in the Keep without being found by the defenders? Then Anet has to make mesmer portal one-way, not two-way.
The basic fundamental flaw of WvW game type design is that people get discouraged when their server is losing. Coupled with free server transfer, people will transfer to winning servers, magnifying this flaw of population imbalance. The current outmanned buff is not enough to entice people from losing servers to play against odds. And most losing servers have no real chance of coming back in scoring, so there’s no exciting comeback fights. So after a few months, people will care less about WvW and the match results will mean nothing.
What’s the reward for killing Grub btw? Last time I opened the chest and got 2 badges of honor, that’s all.
No, they should remove any limits and let everyone in who wants to go. The matchmaking should work it out over time. There will be imbalances at times but I’d rather have no queues and let everyone in than what we have now.
This idea is just terrible. You will see a map with just people from one server, none other, with free server transfer in place now.
There is outmanned buff in game, do you know? It gives more magic find, more exp and more karma gain. But nobody cares, if one server is losing, people just transfer to a winning server or stop playing WvW altogether.

It’s a mistake to start week long WvW matches when free server transfer is still in place. From another thread we all see how in almost all NA matches one server is completely dominating the other two. Match making is just a joke with free server transfer. Anet should stop free transfer and give everyone just 1 chance to transfer for free from now on. And run 24 hour matches for several more days and then week long matches.
Yes, I believe free server transfer completely defeated WvW ranking and match making system. Interestingly only the top 3 server match up (HoD vs SBI vs JQ) is somewhat competitive. The reason for this I think is because there are more competitive players in these servers and they would not give up easily. Less competitive players would just transfer to a winning world or just stop playing WvW until their world is winning. Thus most of the matches are so lopsided.
It’s nonsense to rank these servers based on total score or win-loss point score. We have official rankings. Stop complaining about the “ranking” from some random person based on flawed ranking system.

Completely agree, been through this kind of situation numerous times. It’s a huge issue, especially against huge WvW guilds and alliances.
I’m wondering when the outmanned buff kicks in. Is there an official clarification in what situation the buff kicks in? If the player limit of each map each server is 166, then how many players will trigger the buff? Less than 150? Less than 100 or less than 83? I hope devs can give us some more information about this.

At least show red names from distance. Many times, I saw no one or a few red names in front of me and suddenly a whole bunch pop up, like 40- 50 very close in front of me. That’s just awful. You can’t judge the situation to fight or to retreat.
BTW, I’m using an SSD.
maddbomber if you did more pvp you’d see lots of organization. TA is very organized and tries to organize the HoD militia. Though TA does most of its organization inhouse or over teamspeak.
While I’m sure it lacks sometimes, there would be very little chance of HoD being undefeated if the server wasn’t coordinated.
I’m pretty sure maddbomber meant organization was missing from other servers, not HoD. How TA can get majority of their members in each map and all in teamspeak totally amazes me. Yesterday the JQ public teamspeak channel has about 20 each in red and green borderlands and few to none in other two maps. I see many JQ players running solo and many first time WvW players asking basic questions like where to buy blueprints. JQ is ranked so high just because of numbers and player instincts with almost none organization. I would say JQ is less organized than both ET and SI.
When a server is winning, more people will queue up for WvW, when a server is losing, less and less will queue. As simple as that. JQ has the numbers, but no organization. When against HoD, JQ people tend to get demoralized and eventually give up. When against #5, #6, JQ does very well and more people will queue to do those PvE stuff in WvW and have some fun stomping those other servers.
I already bought a character slot with gems exchanged from in game gold. Whenever I have some extra silvers, I exchange them into gems. I have enough gems to buy one more, but I realize I have no time to play so many characters at this time (6 characters made). So I just bought a tab of 30 bank slots.
Kicking someone from WvW who is AFK for 15 minutes is a good idea, one I hope they eventually implement.
It’s already in game. If you are afk in WvW maps for 15 minutes, you will be kicked out to character selection screen.
I think there is no queue on several of the lowest population servers, like Kaineng. No wonder there are so few players in WvW on those servers. Players who love to play WvW most likely have transferred to the winning servers. So you have to find a balance between short queues and decent WvW play experiences.
No, based on my experience, you can only queue one map at a time, and each time you change your queue you are put to the end. When you get into a map, you can queue another map.
