Or the devs could concentrate on important stuff. I guess I’d like that better…
Having fun in the game is very important, lulz.
+1

Honestly I would rather them all just have unique on hit effects like frostfang on a necromancer would do blue dragon claws for 1 and 2 and the no.3 would do a chill aura going out and blue teeth like a frost bite…
I don’t see anything happening with them for awhile though since they are more focused on rng boxes and semi focused on balance/bug fixes… Though every 1 bug they fix 2 get introduced.
Yes yes, QQ and all that fun stuff, now back to my idea. IT’S AWESOME.
Make them nameable, like ranger pets and stuff.
Sure they have cool names like Sunrise and Juggernaut and that Mlkmlllookkooasfok’ spear thing. But I would love to be able to link my greatsword in chat and have it come up with a name like [Sparklepoof the Sunrise] or something.
Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh drunky suggestions ftw lawl

Oh man, SBI… I can’t believe y’all tried for an hour to take a paper tower at Cliffside and failed with 3x the numbers…
Transfer to AR, we will train you good. And together we shall conquer GW2!
WOOOT~! YOU GOT IT!!! (and without having to kill me at that! :P ) Gratz
So the story has a happy ending at last! You’ve inspired me to work hard to get my legendary now :P heheh…
Haha good luck!
To be clear, he didn’t totally break the bank over this! I’d made enough gold for half of Dawn already and over the past 8 months I’ve been craving this darn legendary I managed to finish the other 3 gifts, so it wasn’t terrible
I’m so excited though! Here’s a picture!
I GOT IT OMFG GUYS OMFG OMFG OMFG!!! Thanks to my boyfriend who bought me gold so I bought it off the tp, but still!!! Teehee
Pics will be coming shortly.
I just want to say that I’m very pleased with this match up.
At the very least, no more Ebay and BP like for the past 3+ months. But otherwise, so far these servers have been great to fight
6,025 supply used to build siege out of 1,000,000.
I’M ON MY WAY
Wooh!
Another FYI, if you had unlimited supplies, didn’t have any delay between builds, could build 24/7, it would take around 2 and a half weeks to get the title
That’s cool with me! I don’t see why you’re trying to talk me out of it.
He’s not talking you out of it, hes hooking you up with the math that you will end up doing on your journey. IMO just don’t try to rush it and become a siege griefer, it hurts your server and no one wants that.
I’m aware of the math, and obviously, and I was more curious about where everyone else is at in their siege building.

It is a lifetime achievement, something designed to take years to complete.
(think HoH ranks in GW1).
I mean you can do it, but it will take a long time even if you specifically grind it. Keep in mind that supply generates at camps at 10 supply every 60 seconds. Meaning from one camp only assuming no one capped it but your server and you were the only one draining the supply from it – it will take you 16,666 hours or 694 days or 1.9 years at a single supply camp continuously without stop.
So have fun I guess.
I’m pretty sure it’s every 30 seconds and it’s even faster if you upgrade the camp… And there are multiple camps on a map…
FYI takes around 1000 gold worth of rams
I have so much siege from JPs and ranking up that I’m not worried about cost. Just having available supply camps and not annoying people by using all the supply
I’ve decided that obtaining this title in wvw is my guild wars goal. (Well, that and a legendary, but at least the wvw title doesn’t depend so much on rng lol.)
Ultimate Besieger takes 1,000,000 supplies to accomplish. I’m at 15,878 supplies. Long way to go! But I was wondering – has anyone achieved this title yet? (Pics!)
If not, how far along are you?

I liked your story, brought a smile to my face. At one point, I too desired Sunrise since my character is a JUSTICE PALADIN and it seemed to fit, but then I realized that legendaries don’t mean anything to me anymore because I see them everywhere and I don’t want to spend my GW2 life grinding for an unattainable and unfun goal…
…so now I’m just enjoying my pretty Lionguard Hammer, in all its golden and not-flashy existence.
I thought everything was fun except the RNG for precursor part
But hey, that hammer is pretty cool looking too!
OP gets my first +1
Good luck and I hope you achieve your goal soon.
Haha thanks, me too!
Update: someone in wvw got Dawn today. I QQ’d for a long time.
The Really Nice Gift gods gave it to the wrong person??!! Nooo~! :P
I know right???

Clearly it’s not a priority – people are still getting precursors and are still getting legendaries. The game isn’t broken because of the current system. There are other things more important on the list.
Hence my earlier reply to your earlier commentary – “Yes, usually with non-responses” – that is evidently correct.
The devs have addressed the precursor issue countless times.
Yes, usually with non-responses.
No, they have said repeatedly that they’re going to implement a design to make them less a struggle to get. Learn to research.
Right, they’ve repeatedly said that, and then repeatedly done nothing to demonstrate any progress towards doing anything like that. Learn to not swallow kittenpoop.
Agreed. And excellent use of kittenpoop… LOL!
:D

Maybe because it takes time to implement without ruining the economy and putting enough effort into it so a legendary doesn’t take a day to achieve. Idiot.
Lol these are not things that won’t happen if they take 50 days instead of 5 to implement a way of getting precursors more easily… And they’ve been talking about implementing this for 8 months. Common sense is not your forte, clearly.

I would start with the precursor, instead of building all gifts for Eternity bar the two most expensive parts … in my opinion, that’s not a good way to go. One doesn’t buy a wheel first and then ask how long one has to save up for the car itself.
All other gifts first. Precursor last. One doesn’t wait to be able to afford a lamborghini before buying a car at all.
… and don’t forget screenshots once u do!
Oh there will be an entire scrapbook’s worth of pictures, videos, and forum posts lol.
Level 80 Mesmer, Engineer, and Guardian.
Let us know when you get it.
Will do!
I’d say we need a little extra server maintenance. It’s been buggy for some time now, today especially though.
Glory? Vanity? A Valiant desires not these things.
Kidding aside, that was an entertaining read. I hope you do manage to get your hands on Dawn one day soon, lover.
Plants are meant to be beautiful!
Thanks, me too lol.
Ehmry Bay citizen here! Ur story made my day!
really! if i can figure out which one u r in wvw id let u kill me coz this story is so nice
(hmm.. would be super awesome if u kill me and got Dawn, coz i heard thts how one of our guildies got his precursor, by killing in wvw!) Hopefully u get Dawn soon. For that awesome storytelling, i really think u deserve it! hahaha…
Ahahahaha your comment made MY day
That would be hilarious.
You’ll get Sunrise soon enough, TreeSis, because I believe in you.
So does Mother Tree.
Lol thanks
This daughter of Ascalon reached the pinnacle of her epic journey today with the creation of Incinerator
I used this video as inspiration for the home stretch. He tells of his road to incineration, how we must embody hell – becoming servant to the flame in order to wield its untouched glory.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnyNTwic9AUThank you JawDane, wherever you are.
I am so jealous lol
It’s always nice to see people able to dress their gaming experience into a story.
It’s a nice form of roleplaying that isn’t quite as nutty as talking to an NPC in-game. Nor does it involve the headaches of communal roleplay, such as Mary Sueing.
I am the very model of an excellent Guild Wars-ian
she even learned how to outrun a centaur (though quickly discovered that the real thing she ought to outrun was an Ehmry Bay zerg).
Hahahahaha.
You know it.
Knew I should’ve included this prayer somewhere!
Congratz on obtaining Sunrise! Enjoy your hard earn fruit.
I added a TL;DR for ya.
Once upon a time there was a vain Mesmer whose sole goal in life was to look as beautiful and flashy as possible. But though she coveted cultural armors and hoarded rare dyes and drooled for that gorgeous Twilight Arbor skirt, there was one thing she desired above all: the legendary greatsword Sunrise.
Unfortunately this Mesmer was not particularly wealthy or clever or lucky. Being a Mesmer, of course, she naturally possessed a set of skills that Tyrians found useful in a variety of cases. She could assist people with obtaining unobtainable chests hidden behind the bodies of dead trolls, or give up to 20 people the pleasure of an easy 600 wxp behind locked gates (if you know what I mean). And for those nerds who threw parties where no one showed up, she provided an excellent parlor trick that allowed the room to look full – though plenty of Friesson’s ale was necessary to keep the other three guests oblivious.
But though these talents were handy sometimes, the Mesmer could not rely on them to accomplish her goals. Second only to her vanity was her valiance, and it was this tool she used to acquire the look she desired. She killed dragons and priests and golems and wurms; she ventured into the caverns of flaming citadels and played fetch with bug-infested, giant lupicuses; she even learned how to outrun a centaur (though quickly discovered that the real thing she ought to outrun was an Ehmry Bay zerg).
Hundreds of days passed and the Mesmer found herself using the Mirror, pleased at how she looked. She certainly had found a way to stop any negative projectiles, or commentary for that matter – her outfit was without a doubt ravishing. And she held in her hands three-fourths of the necessary artifacts that would allow her look to be complete with the addition of the legendary greatsword Sunrise. There was only one four-letter word standing in her way: Dawn.
After opening thousands of chests and killing millions of creatures, it seemed the Really Nice Gift gods had forsaken her. At this point even a Khrysaor drop would’ve pleased her (momentarily). She was considering a desperate, goggle-less jump off the Vizier’s tower when a thought occurred to her: maybe she should stop being so vain and learn to have a little more fun with her life rather than endlessly grinding. It was a novel idea! It was a refreshing point of view! She became very excited.
Five seconds later, she looked down at her beautiful Twilight Arbor skirt, dyed with the rays of angels eating cherries and iced honey, and decided this was poppykitten. Sunrise was not just a passing fashion statement, it was a burning desire in the pit of her leafy leafiness (which is why she kept a jug of water handy at all times). She didn’t just want it like the quaggans want their pearls, she WANTED it – like a karka hatchling WANTS your face.
To make a long story longer, the Mesmer decided to continue on her quest to find the final component for her Sunrise. First she offered up a prayer to the old Really Nice Gift gods, then to the new “Amphitheater Web” gods. Then she killed some more dragons and went on to become a Footman. You may see her around sometimes, jumping around to make her dress more noticeable, but be warned: do not approach her too closely, especially not within hearing distance. Because if you are unfortunate enough to be near her when she uncovers her Dawn, you may expect to find yourself quite deaf.
The end!
TL;DR: My loins are burning with desire for Sunrise, but no luck with Dawn (or any precursor for that matter) in 1800 hours of game play, so I’m continuing to keep my fingers crossed.

BP EB and AR.
Again.
That is all.

Use the mystic clover recipe. There’s a small chance that instead of getting a mystic clover, you may get lucky and get a couple piles of crystalline dust.
‘Course, after they nerfed the drop rate of ectos from rares, that’s quickly going to become ridiculous to do as well.
Oh ha, never mind, I figured it out. Apparently having long-sleeved chest armor covers up the top part of the gauntlets. Oh well!
