There should be an ingame calendar or warning for this. I already had completed it weeks ago, but it must suck for those who weren’t aware.
I disagree on point 1. I really hate when people leave in the middle of a dungeon run. It’s just wasting everyone’s time, especially when they have to look for a replacement. If you can’t spare the time to do a full run, then don’t join a dungeon run until you can.
This really doesn’t make sense. To be a commander, all one has to do is get 100g. It should be changed and be earned via achievements, such as, “Siege X number of Towers, Keeps, Castles”, etc…
This will be epic again. Let’s go Darkhaven!
^ It seriously is. SFer here, heh. Darkhaven and Rall are like our equals!
Darkhaven was doing good last night too, then we lost what we gained. It seems like we all got matched up again this week.
Yes. I mentioned this awhile back too. Make salvage items and crafting items different colors too.
I think the core issue is the downed-state. It gives a feeling of being “defeated”, a feeling of “failure”, and a feeling of a “wipe” on bosses, instead of a feeling of a second chance. It’s also a big distraction from boss fights, while rezzing others. This doesn’t give the vibe of “helping” others, and instead makes the person who is down feel like they did something wrong, when in fact, it’s part of the system of being 1-shot into a downed-state (correct me if i’m wrong here Devs).
After 3 months of not a single news update or any communication with players people gave up and left Warhammer and it never recovered. We need frequent updates (I want to know whats going on every time a new build is available and my client downloads something) and we need an at least rough update on your current priorities and long term goals. I can deal with the strangely large number of bugs in game even after a month.. but feeling like we aren’t being heard is a problem.
Use Dev Tracker.
Use Twitter.
Use Facebook.
Spy on them 24/7. (<—seems you really want this)
Get a grip and relax. It’s only been 1 month since release. Do you really need updates every minute? Seriously?
It’s just a suggestion.. and some people are overreacting as if i’m saying the game is failed or something. People need to lighten up instead of responding with “Lrn2Play scrub”.. You fanboys jump at everyone trying to improve the game. sheesh.
That’s why i mentioned a MINOR suggestion. It shouldn’t be #1 priority, as some of you are suggesting. It’s just a minor annoyance. Stop defending every little thing about this game. seriously.
Everytime i hit F, i think it’s the TP NPC, when it’s just the random citizen. >.>
Yes. I’m still having fun at 80, but i feel like starting over with another class.
Are you serious? There is no need to merge them. They are always on High or Full. The 3 newest servers were always medium, and suddenly only 2 are medium now. A-Net even raised the server caps too.
Nice list. Do you have a link for the reddit post?
@nexxe
What will you do, cancel your subscription?
No, but me, and a lot of other people will just stop playing, leaving you with a lower population, and leaving you with a feeling of loneliness.
Colin said there was going to be one for October. Can’t wait!
Level 80 Ranger, 6/10.
I hope it’s a great patch, because WoW"s Pandaria comes out on tuesday.
Endgame is NOT fine. There are so many broken things. Events, Skill Points, Personal Story, Escort missions bugged. These all started happening around level 40+ zones. Before that, it was tolerable, but now, it seriously needs fixing.
I’ve never been a fan of random items. We should always get an item we can use, especially for Map completion, since that’s permanent, and we can’t reset it.
I just hit 80 yesterday, and i see a lot of people everywhere. Events are always getting zerged. WvW always has people. There isn’t too many people doing Dungeons though, because LFG is such a hassle.
My biggest complaint about this game are all the broken Events, Stories, Skill Points, etc. It’s really starting to irritate me now, and i don’t even feel like logging in knowing i can’t finish my Personal Story. sigh.
I can’t open the door on the step:
-Confront the Mouth of Zhaitan in the manse’s basement.
Is this bugged or there is something i’m missing? I tried to restart the mission but i’m still stuck on the same spot.
I don’t understand all the Orr hate. I sort of like it. Broken DEs and lack of mob variety i will agree with though.
I’m currently doing Huntsman & Leatherworker, but you will need double the amount of materials. Both use fangs, claws, vial of bloods, etc. They also both use leather.
there are currently no plans to implement a dungeon finder.
If you are having trouble finding groups for dungeons, you can use our LFG system. Open up your contacts menu in-game, and there should be an option in there for grouping. That way it’s not just people standing out in front of dungeons shouting LFG until someone invites them. This system does not stretch across servers, or to other maps.
This is not good enough. I’m sorry, but it’s not. Finding groups needs to be more efficient.
-Our normal levels (not effective) needs to be shown while in the current zone.
-Story Mode/Explorer Mode toggle ability
-A more efficient travel method (perhaps a drop-down menu on the Map), because having to zoom in/out and scroll around looking for it gets annoying.
I found a workaround. If you’re stuck on the docks part, just exit the story and use the nearest waypoint. Go back in, then when you get to the docks part again, make sure to run to the very end on the left bridge and kill them, instead of waiting for them to come to docks.
I just got bugged too. It got stuck on “Defend the Fort Trinity docks.” I can see an NPC under the docks and i need to kill it to progress, but i can’t kill it.
Edit: Eyrika, that’s the same problem i’m having, except the mob was under the ramp area.
And people say that the devs aren’t active or never respond on the forums. Well, here’s your proof. A dev responded.
This would be nice, until a guild member gets hacked, then gold spam for everyone!
I was leveling a warrior, got him to 53, then decided i wanted a ranger, so i’m a lvl 68 ranger. I would have had an 80 awhile ago.
How frequent should players be downed??
in PvE.
in PvP.
in Dungeons.
in Personal Story.
on Bosses.
during Events.
Pros:
-Adds a feeling of survival and second wind.
-Encourages others to help get you back up.
Cons:
-Perception of being a bad player. (because you didn’t move or dodge)
-More time wasted reviving, instead of fighting.
-1 shot hits take you down. (related to perception of being bad)
During dungeon runs, there is a high frequency of players getting downed, but is this to be expected, or is it because players are not being cautious, and are unskilled? What about during Events?
So, in essence, how frequent are we supposed to be in downed state? And is it supposed to be low or high?
I really hope A-Net prioritizes these issues really soon. It’s very crucial to fix these, because they allow the player to feel connected to the immersive world.
Yes. I did too. I’m on Darkhaven-US.
Without the Tank & Healer concepts, this game is an action based combat MMO. It just doesn’t work well for an MMO. Everything is too chaotic, and it feels like a game where everything can be zerged. It was good in theory though, but it wasn’t executed as good as it should have been. They threw in traditional mechanics for bosses, when in fact, they needed to re-imagine them with the Action Combat in mind. They can still save the concept of No Tank & No Healer, but trash mobs & boss mechanics, will need to be changed and adapt to this different playstyle.
I wonder if that’s broken too. I was disappointed when i got a lower lvl item.
Look i agree with you on some points, such as all the event/skill bugs, crafting, and payoff, but i don’t agree that they aren’t listening to us. They always take feedback and improve on the game. They can’t magically snap their fingers and fix things. It takes a process. I hasn’t even been a month. Patience is a virtue.
Aezion, it’s really the general feeling of the game right now.
GW2 is a superb game but it most of the recent changes are adding flaws instead of real fixes. While I know that other MMOs had similar problems at some point, it just feels like they don’t have any real idea of the impact on things they changes/add or remove.
And the total silence on the board is anything but friendly to their customers.
It’s a new game, I have lot’s of hopes for this game and I just hope they will get back on track by not adjusting everything every week (which is almost a nerf to a certain farming zone)We’ll see. Maybe I’ll go buy Borderlands 2 while they get their stuff together.
Total silence? No there hasn’t. Read the Dev Tracker. There are a lot of dev posts and there is patch notes on these forums in the News section. There is also articles on the gw2 home page. You are only perceiving what you want to perceive.
The removal of the traidtional roles, Tank, Healer, and DPS was good in theory, but in practice, this is what we get. A stat that has very little impact. This game needs a lot of balancing, hopefully in time.
I’ve counted at least 8 broken DEs and Skill Points combined. I’ve also submitted bug reports.
Yeah graveyard zerg and some bosses having a few balance issues (or needing more varied skills at various health percentages so they are fun to fight for their large health pools) are absolutely things on our radar. Make sure to note specific locations/bosses when leaving feedback on the forums!
As for the question about PuG’s for explorable dungeons, we’ve said all along that explorable dungeons are intended for highly organized/skilled groups of players. That is absolutely the case
Graveyard zerging is definitely a problem. It encourages the group to keep fighting, instead of waiting for all members to participate and retry again. What ends up happening, is that players just run in, one by one instead of fighting as a group.
AC is an entry-level dungeon. It should introduce players on how to coordinate with combos. Instead, it’s too difficult because players do not have viable builds, viable weapon sets & skills, or even 25+ weapons & gear.
Is it any wonder people die so much? The dungeons need to scale up in difficulty the higher level you get.
As it is now, AC is not a good way of introducing players to dungeons. Even Cadecus Manor was easier, and that was level 40.
They need to be re-tuned to be enjoyable, and this doesn’t mean a nerf. It means balancing the difficulty based on player experience, and since AC is their first dungeon, it needs to be tuned correctly for the new player’s experience to dungeons.
I think it would be a nice addition to color code the heart tasks.
Example:
Trivial task could be highlighted as grey, such as feeding animals, cleaning stuff, etc.
Challenging tasks could be orange, such as fighting mobs, etc.
It would just be faster to read which tasks you want to do in the upper right corner.
I think it would be a nice addition to have colored borders on items in our bags, for faster identification of them.
We cannot inspect other people right? Or not yet?
No, we can’t. It could be because ANet has had an opposition to allowing things that could create a sort of arbitrary barrier for players to do group-based content, i.e. WoW, there people inspected you and wanted all your gear to be above x level before you were allowed in. That can’t fly here mainly because gear plays a much smaller role than player skill in this game, so the only way to know if a player is bad is, well, if he just keeps dying.
Someone was asking people about their gear levels for an AC Exp group once. I think it was because he kept dying with players who were too undergeared.
I know that i should report these in game, but in general, random dialogue conversations overlap each other, and it’s hard to distinguish the conversations, unless it’s read in chat.
I just use them when i’m in Lion’s Arch crafting, or traveling somewhere.
Anyone feel like they die too fast? It sort of ruins the immersion, since you can just revive them afterwards. Events should also fail if the NPC dies. Just buff their health up or something.
Please let us play Kodan! I would rather play them then pandas (from that other game). They would be so amazing as a warrior and guardian. Think of the awesomeness.
