Dear Mag,
Thanks for the bags. You can have your breakout tower back.
With love,
RET
Thanks for giving us back those golems we gave you, Mag.
Love,
FA
The sad thing is that despite whatever efforts they might put forward, both FA and Mag are in all likelihood going to silver together.
That wouldn’t be so bad as Mag and FA seem relatively close to each other in terms of coverage, but the disparity between the top two of silver and the rest of the tiers is ridiculous, and Mag and FA aren’t happy unless outnumbered.
Where are the 5-man roaming groups on Mag these days? Getting swarmed everywhere.
RIP big bro FA, your beatings will be sorely missed (not really).
I’d like to thank our stay at home mom zerg for leading the charge this afternoon.
Just wait until our breadwinner dad zerg comes back home. All of the Mag moms will be too busy making dinner.
So why is SoS always so insistent on establishing a 2v1? I’m skeptical that would even work at this point given how many guilds have joined the all-expense-paid bandwagon to JQ.
And I can’t speak for FA (although many will express the same sentiment), but me having fun in WvW isn’t something that’s conditional on accomplishing even the slightest thing in regards to PPT or score.
Sorry DB and FA. You guys will need to handle our excessive numbers compared to yours. Please 2v1 us. We need it.
RET’s map blob in DBBL was excessive tonight.
lol
Well, looks like we get to spend a week in the strange alien world where people actually care about PPT and the score. So far, I’m not impressed.
I can’t fathom how anyone can enjoy T1.
Not sure where all the “TC blob” hate is coming from.. Most seen blobs is FA’s: RET, RAM, HOPE and more (70+), and we still fought them with about half the numbers…
And hell, even if we are somewhat blobbing at times, atleast we have a reason to – to practice for our T1 matches
.. You guys probably won’t be seeing those too often
Most RET has fielded this week is around 30 some people and they run tagless. Even with pugs, the biggest group I’ve seen was 40. If you want a particularly egregious example of blobbing, I point you the karma train zergs that RE conducts daily.
You are referring to the general zerg that happens to have some RE in it and an RE cmmdr. Even when running tagless, we tend to attract militia. But I have not seen more than 30-40 even then.
Speaking of blobs, this occurred in FA BL, so it’s understandable, but could someone on FA tell me how many this is? I estimated 60, and someone on teamchat said 40-50.
I can’t say for sure which day that was taken on, but if I remember that particular siege, its around 35. RAM runs 20 at their peak, and we’re down to 10 RET usually by that time, then you add in stray pugs. Judging by the score and time, that was probably one of the biggest conglomeration of people FA had on that BL that night, and even then it was fleeting because everyone split up after the tower was recaptured.
Opaque, two-dimensional, red enemy tags (not to mention pets) stacked on top of each other tends to inflate numbers. You know nothing about FA if you honestly believe that we have 60 people grouped together on a weekday outside of EB (and our EB commanders would sell their souls to get a group of 60 for even 10 minutes).

Ah yes, TC’s superior organizational tactics: everyone follow the blue dorrito. This was taken right before they ran away (A.K.A. a superior tactical retreat) from an FA group of equal numbers.
TC looks like they learned a little too much from T1. I’m not impressed with the fighting on FABL tonight.
Can I just give a big shout out to the incredibly awesome roaming and dueling culture of EB? You guys are officially my favorite server to fight.
EB roamers and duelers are just leagues ahead of anything I find in T3 or above servers. Have had plenty of fun fights and have met some really good players. Hope the fun lasts the rest of the week.
Let’s get some duels going in FA BL at the windmill.
-FA gets an influx of map completion fairweathers as every server does when they dominate match-ups like this
-Said fairwathers cause SoS/CD to complain about FA’s alleged horrible roamers and zerglings.
The never ending cycle of forum threads in ANet’s new match up system.
Edited.
Hoo, someone’s obviously defensive about JQ’s NA. Consider that FA held first place throughout 2 reset nights against JQ, only to lose ground during late oceanic/SEA.
I hope the Rata Sum Army Tactical School offers remedial courses on omega golem rushes, because that attempt on FA BL garrison was a disgrace.
FA’s largest NA guild aswell.
lol
Had some good times in TC BL tonight.
I have a feeling that our overwhelming success there was just a bad match-up of guilds, since it seems that TC’s bigger guilds were in different maps tonight.
0-10-30-30-0, full PVT armor, Knight’s accessories, signet of malice.
Initiate every fight with spin2win, and spam clusterbomb throughout the fight. Keep a stunbreaker handy on your utility bar and you’ll never die before your zerg does.
We’re around. Just trying to do solid borderland defense like we always do.
Honestly though, what is there to get excited about when you’re playing against a near dead server and one with an overwhelming night presence? Not to mention FA’s habit of siege siege siege. You guys have never been that entertaining.
To be honest, after coming from the same exact situation fighting Dragonbrand and their SEA zergs, we were hoping that the pugnaciousness of Mag would make for a refreshing match-up. I suppose I can’t really expect you to reciprocate the sentiment considering how tired we were of fighting DB.
Still, I appreciated the great fights and the sheer open-field competence that DURP provided in previous match-ups. You guys put us in our place pretty often and inspired us to improve ourselves. I just haven’t seen any group at that same level in this match-up yet, but I really want to.
As for the whining about siege use, I can never take it seriously no matter who it comes from Every server brings out the arrow carts when someone’s knocking at their keep doors. You would be stupid not to.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz EB all Blue and no fights……
Probably shouldn’t have had so many recruitment threads these past few months.
Except FA has had no new recruits, just a bunch of fairweathers who’re logging on while Maguuma’s prematurely wallowing in self-pity, apparently.
You would think the “megazergs” running around would prompt DURP/PYRO to post about farming delicious FA bags, but I’ve yet to see either guild in force in game or in these forums.
Step it up, Mag. I wanna see that #magswag on the field.
I miss fighting [Agg].
I miss the old tier 2 match-up, where the PPT was close, and TC couldn’t just gobble up the third server and dedicate the entirety of their superior coverage to fighting us.
Fight club in south camp of KN BL! Come for fights and fun.
I really miss when FA was good at open field.
Hell, BT practically taught us how to fight open field, at least for a lot of us. Even RET was a bit of a challenge for awhile, but I barely see them anymore.
I’ve gotta say, I wasn’t originally impressed by FIRE from DB, but they’re getting a lot better, though it’s hard to tell when they run with 40+ others. Their movement is really good, and they have good recovery. TG, I haven’t seen you all week, PYRO misses you.
Also, where’s Agg this week? I was looking forward to some rematches.
Oh well, pretty good week all in all. I still miss BT/AoN/RET from FA. The remaining guilds aren’t kitten or anything, but they just don’t really stand out to me anymore.
Also, sorry to both servers for Mag’s karma trains.
RET remains alive but rebuilding from some past hard knocks. However, I have to agree with the sentiment that we haven’t seen much emphasis on tightly coordinated open field fighting on FA’s side as of late. That remains RET’s focus, and I hope to see us and FA improve over time. I don’t recall RET facing PYRO in force, although we did square off against some other Mag guilds. I can’t say that we left any lasting impression though.
Though I think FA and Mag respectively wish for a change-up in the next match-up, I hope to see you all someday again on the battlefield.
Fort Aspenwood likely meets all your requirements as they do have a heavily used Teamspeak server, and they probably would commit some fundraising. Their Oceanic and SEA timeslots have plenty of space for you guys to make a name for yourselves and carve your niche in the community.
Not only that, but Fort Aspenwood is probably the easiest server in the top tiers to transfer to. It is rarely ever “Full,” even during NA prime. There’s no need to organize any kind of blackout or spend weeks waiting for the right moment; your transfer is only limited by the flow of gold.
Fort Aspenwood is just like one of my Japanese animes!
I approve of this message.
Had some great fun with RET fighting GH in FA BL and later facing GH+Rekz in EB BL.
You guys are great. Keep up the awesome fights.
You’re asking for the impossible, OP.
not used to so much trash talking on the forums.
Welcome to a match-up thread with Trollguma.
I’m pretty sure Ancient WvW law dictates that RET and CERN are now bonded as friendly rivals for life now that Commander Nightlight and Commander Stawker have dueled both as zergs and as individuals.
Great fights, guys. We’ll see you in the field.
I hope TC enjoyed the sight of FA lining up outside of Bay in FA BL jumping like monkeys today. I think a commander from CERN was leading TC at the time. Good fights, and a good time. You made us work to take it back.
Ouch. TC’s maintaining big numbers throughout the night and we can’t keep up.
Can’t say I see much promise in this matchup.
SoS probably can’t maintain the three way dynamic that keeps WvW interesting. It feels like TC vs FA with SoS just kind of buzzing around like a bee in the vicinity.
TC will inevitably smash FA in points with better coverage without having to worry about a third server on their tail.
The class is mostly irrelevant to the actual act of commanding. At the end of the day, you just need to survive as long as possible, and you can spec any class to do that.
If you’d like to supplement your commanding with a focused support function, then you’d want to give it more thought. As previously mentioned, a mesmer is more versatile with the veil and portal, although the ranger does have a water field on demand.
If this thread has taught me anything, it’s that nothing is confirmed until a guild leader says it.
I have not seen poorer long term play on any server’s part more than i have seen from FA this morning. GG
Lack of siege placement throws planning out the window and reduces “long term play” to a simple question of coverage.
On the brighter side, it does seem to be encouraging more fighting.
Ouch. Tough night for FA, and the coverage gap is just becoming more and more apparent. Better ramp up that recruiting.
FA’s huge RET zerg.
RET has a zerg? Did I miss something or are we multiplying before my very eyes?
Oh, and kudos to the ONI elementalist who I dueled with on the roof of the camp entrance in DB BL The interruptions (and my clumsiness) prevented us from reaching a proper conclusion, but you probably would have won on normal terrain.

Infracted for snark, apparently.
tl;dr: we’re not experts on other servers, let alone our own, and we should speak from our own experience (which is limited and shouldn’t be taken as fact, anyways). Generalizations about server culture should be treated with skepticism regardless of who they are coming from.
Hey FA… you, um, have a lot of superior ACs in there, huh? I think I counted 17 total? Ow.
As a proud member of HL, I salute you guys for trying.
Other than that, get off our keep.
And FA implodes utterly and spectacularly just days out of its sizable lead. I’m beginning to suspect that you guys don’t really want to take 1st.
Discussion seems cordial this week, thankfully. However, I can’t help but feel that FA has been underperforming as of late. Sunday was particularly disappointing.
Also noticing a lot of three-way battles as of late, born from what looks like a ruthlessly opportunistic streak (Sunday’s assault on FA’s garrison, and yesterday’s battle for FA’s Keep in EB come to mind). Although, it seems to usually backfire the moment two sides start competing over the capture of the lord’s room.

I’m suddenly reminded of why I don’t browse through this board very often. The server-bashing and chest-thumping is embarrassing. I nearly cut myself on all of this edginess.
FA did an absolutely stellar job in defending the Garrison, and by extension, orb, in their borderlands.
Even as they were being attacked from all angles, had walls falling down, and had gates being whittled away, they still managed to repel the attack long enough to outlast TC’s superior numbers.
