I can personally see this being useful in WvW, if you have enough people run up to use as a tactic, to disrupt the back line of an enemy zerg by Taunting it’s backline casters out of position while making them spam their auto attack skill. Could make for some very effective pushes in that regard and add a layer of tactics to what is now blob warfare.
Hello All, and thank you for taking the time to read. We are a small, friendly group of players looking to grow our Guild. We have been together over 5 years as a group of friends (previously Band of the Red Hand on the MMO Shaiya), and just enjoy playing all aspects of the game. We came to GW2 over 2 years ago, and fell in love with it. We are involved in WvW, Dungeons, Fractals, World Bosses, Farming, etc. In short, we enjoy doing it all, but we are looking at making WvW more of a top priority of our gameplay than we have done in the past. There are no experience requirements; simply come as you are. We know there is a lot to learn in GW2 (I still learn every single day), and there are no required amount of hours to play each week/day, though we do ask that you try to play as often as life allows to help support the Guild (this means different things for different people i.e real life schedules) and that you practice 100% Guild Representation unless alting to a character you have extra Guild Bank storage on. We also have a TeamSpeak 3 Guild Channel on the Eredon Terrace Main TeamSpeak Server. In closing, if you are looking for a long term Guild and group of friends, then please let us know. I can be contacted in game by my user ID, as well as one of our Officers, Marcus Antonius.1904. Also, please visit our Guild Site below for more information about us. Thanks, and we look forward to seeing you in game!

My condolences to all of you. It sounds as though he left you, his friends, with many fond memories of himself, and those memories will bring more smiles to your faces in time, as the pain of his loss lessens somewhat. The following words helped me once during a time of loss, hopefully they may bring some small measure of comfort to some of you as well.
The Next Room
By Harry Scott-Holland
Death is nothing at all.
It does not count.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
Nothing has happened.
Everything remains exactly as it was.
I am I, and you are you,
and the old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by the old familiar name.
Speak of me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without an effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was.
There is absolute and unbroken continuity.
What is this death but a negligible accident?
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval,
somewhere very near,
just round the corner.
All is well.
Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost.
One brief moment and all will be as it was before.
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again!

Gotta give a bump to these peeps!
Shameless bump is shameless lol.
I do agree that we need some cost effective solution to being able to use the expensive runes/sigils that we place in certain gears (karma) that can’t be broken down. I don’t even want to be able to pull the item out to sell; I just wanted to be able to pull it out to put into my Ascended pcs as I make them. This used to be easily done with Transmutation Crystals, and prevented the inflation mentioned above. I could keep the look and stats of the item I wanted to use while moving the rune/sigil from the other piece by combining them. This was the era in which I made these Karma gears for my 2 mains which utilize Strength and Traveler Runes respectively. So, post April feature patch, I was stuck with 7 of each stuck in gears with no way to either get the runes out or “Transmute” them onto new gears the way we used to. I’m not saying straight salvage/extraction is the answer, because the inflation argument is 100% valid. What I am saying is that we do need some viable solution to this often overlooked issue that there used to be a perfectly viable system in place for.
LOL Turk. Thanks for the amusing bumps man! Makes my work day a little better when I’m reading the forums at my desk : D
I’ve been on ET since I started the game, about 6 months after launch. This is my home and this is where I choose to be. In my opinion, we have the best people, with the most solidarity, that I have ever seen from a server on any game I have ever played. I’m proud to call Eredon Terrace home. Yeah, I could go to another server for easier fights and a few more WvW Reward Tickets each season. Guess I’m just not made for “easier”. I’d rather get my teeth kicked in beside you guys and gals on our worst WvW day than go be a drone on another server. On ET, a victory REALLY feels like a victory, and a defeat just feels like motivation to hit them harder and smarter when we all respawn. There’s something to be said for being the Eternal Underdog.
Great group of peeps in DoD! DEFINITELY deserve a bump!
Well, as to the comparison to the word “Rig”, the reason you call it a Rig is because that is a proper usage based on definition;
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/rig
Now as for the term “Toon”, that is what everyone referred to their character as on the MMO that I came from. To Keysha’s point, no one gets all bent out of shape when people use the term “App”. The full word is Application. Even Program would do nicely. I have been gaming for years myself. If anyone has any delusion that their “Character” and their chosen “Game” isn’t a glorified, interactive Cartoon, I feel for you. You can spin it any way you like, and tell me how much your avatar is a reflection of YOU (Hey, I feel a special connection with my character too. Some people have known me as that name for ages across various MMOs) but at the end of the day, it’s a bunch of animated digital artwork interacting with other animated digital artwork. The same definition can be applied to a fully rendered Disney/Pixar Movie with real people doing voice-overs, and I would still call any character in a Disney/Pixar movie a Cartoon (Toon) : )
So, this was the announcement from last year’s Halloween in 2013 Blood and Madness:
“The Blood and Madness content will be available from October 15 to November 11, including rewards and achievements.”
This was almost a solid month of good Halloween Content (My fav time of year, and I really enjoy the GW2 Halloween stuff. Some don’t, that’s ok too). Here’s the post about this year, however:
“Later in October, we’ll be bringing back our famous Halloween festivities! Blood and Madness will be returning to Guild Wars 2 on October 21 and remain active until the return of Season 2.
Last but certainly not least, Season 2 is returning on November 4! Make sure to log in and participate in the continuation of Living World Season 2.”
So, 2 weeks? If the Halloween Crafting is anything like last year, I would have to play GW2 as a 2nd job for those 2 weeks. That fact aside, I just think 2 weeks for Halloween content is kind of underwhelming. I enjoy the Living World Season 2 stuff (some don’t, and again, that’s ok too) but I am ok with pushing it back a couple more weeks for some fun, once-a-year content.
Actually, all their adds feature the words on the “such and such and 12 other friends like this” on Facebook, but here is an article as well:
http://www.gamesradar.com/guild-wars-2-ramps-new-content-every-two-weeks/
And another:
http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/938738-guild-wars-2/67575636
I’m perfectly content with the game, but the OP is correct in their statement : )
Wow, TY All : )

Tysm for the response! : )
I keep getting this same Error Message as the person in this Screenshot (taken from GW2 Twitter Feed). Can’t find anything on the Forums relating to this, but is anyone else having the same issue we are experiencing?

To spin this in a slightly different direction for a sec, although I don’t agree with the actual Character Names being dropped after 365 days, I would like to see Inactive Guild Names become available after a certain period of time. For example, I have played and led our Guild here on GW2 for about 1.5 yrs now (Same Guild for about 4 years on our previous game). When I created our Guild, I tried our name from the other game. It was taken in about every form. I have logged more hours than I care to imagine, and I have never seen this Guild Name, Pre or Post Mega, in all that time.

Hello All, Arathorn from OTBH here. We are an established Guild on the Eredon Terrace server looking to grow our Guild. Our core has been together for over 5 years (previously Band of the Red Hand on the MMO Shaiya), however, we have lost a few of those individuals due to various real life circumstances (i.e. comp failure, moving, family issues, etc). That being said, we are looking to recruit people for our casual, friendly Guild; to reform that Core, so that we may recruit and grow further. We are everyday people with lives, families, etc, but we play often and ask that you do the same. We are not trying to be the largest or most hardcore Guild on ET; we just want to find like-minded individuals to play and have fun with. We do all areas of the game, from Dungeons to WvW, Living Story to World Bosses. We hope to broaden our scope to include Guild Bounties and Fractals, as well. Thank you for reading, and we look forward to playing with you.

I personally hate World Chat of any kind. I saw this mechanic for the 5 years I played a previous MMO, and it becomes a chat channel for drama, guild spamming, ego stroking, trolling, etc. No offense to those that do it, but if you want a preview of the kind of crap you would get to listen to all day every day, go stand in Vigil Keep (formerly in Lion’s Arch) for an hour and just listen to the discussion that occurs there. Yes, it can be turned off. Yes, you don’t have to listen. In my opinion, though, it’s just a can of trouble that doesn’t need to be opened.
Absolutely not. A lot of people are probably in WvW at the moment doing the WvW Season 2 tournament. Plus, look up the new Megaserver concept coming out on the 15th. Will be plenty of people to play with, no matter where you are or time of day : )
I, and I think many others, am finding myself at a standstill in using up our PvP Crafting Materials because there is now no way in which to purchase Tokens to finish the recipes in the Mystic Forge. Would there be any possibility, prior to the 15th, to get an option at the Vendors to buy these Tokens for Gold rather than Glory (which is no longer able to be gained as currency)? I have a lot of other materials, but no way to get Tokens, and therefore no way to spend those materials. I don’t see this being detrimental to the economy in any way, as they are untradeable. Thanks in advance!
Yeah, I am wondering that as well. I find myself in the same situation as the players above, with lots of other supplies, and no tokens, nor the ability to get any prior to the mechanic going away. Can we maybe put in an option to buy the Tokens for Gold from one of the Vendors, prior to the 15th, so that we can use up the supplies we have in storage?
I had thought so as well at first, as I play on ET, but it’s happening on servers that stay pretty full as well it seems, even BG.
I’ve noticed this even when guesting on Blackgate. Frostgorge there is never empty. This only started just recently.
I also posted here, after no clarification was given via ticket as to whether this was a game update or a bug.
Well, I posed this question in the form of a Ticket, as to whether this was an Intentional Update by the Devs, or a Bug/Glitch. 2 GM’s gave me complete non-answers, so I will ask here. Issue: the Orichalcum Ore, Orrian Sapling, and Omnomberries in malchor’s Leap and Cursed Shore are changing locations outside of Game Resets. I have been gathering in Orr for over a year now, and it is only since the LA Events Updates that I have noticed this happening. Others have taken notice as well (I will post a link to the Crafting Forum Post). Never mind discussion of the pros/cons if this was an intentional Game Mechanic Update by the Devs. All I would like is a straight answer. Was this an intentional update to the game mechanic of these Resource Nodes and are they now supposed to function this way, or is this a Bug/Glitch? It’s one or the other, and I see absolutely no harm in informing the community either way, especially those of us who actually still play/gather in the Orrian maps anymore in the first place. Thanks in advance.
I do the same thing on all my toons. I, like many, stopped for the LA Events for a little change of pace. As soon as they were over, I started back on my Orr Runs, and that’s when I noticed this Node issue. I use gw2nodes.com, and often I am the one now who ends up mapping the locations it seems. I thought I was loosing it, but even reported this as a bug twice, no response. Glad to know I’m not alone at least, but it’s killing my time I have for gathering. I work about 55 hrs a week, lead my Guild, full time father and husband. This not being the way it has been for the last year I’ve played the game is really throwing a wrench into my gameplay : )
