The number of revealing armors is far less than the number of covering armors. The issue mainly is that everyone has a different sense of fashion, and more often than not, I see women (characters) wearing skimpy armor. Why? In their eyes, it looks good. Its all a matter of opinion, really. Light armor just happens to have the greatest amount of revealing armor. I don’t like that armors can be as skimpy as some are, I’m content knowing that there is enough for all. I’m just glad personasly that the male side of the spectrum does not suffer this issue. But I do see how all of your points make sense.

The reason they’re all locked is because people keep making them… There is no need for 1000+ mounts threads. It’s not a suggestion if there are so many threads repeated on it like tgat, at this point it’s useless spam. Mounts do not fit in Gw2; let this game have its own leg to stand on, not following the usual formula every other MMO uses. The respect towards mounts wouldn’t be as bad if you guys didn’t simply continue to post thread after thread, thinking it will get you anywhere.

That isn’t the issue, its about you not using the search bar, and asking for 150% movement speed. Seriously gana cry because the ppl here think you’re insane?

100% is movement speed of unbuffed character so 150% will be increase of 50% do you get the math now ?

No, its not. Lets explain this: Movement speed is a default value. Saying giving 100% movement increase is saying double the speed. Another 50%… And no, this idea is terrible and absolutely broken. Mounts by themselves are a big issue, but then you want a very high movement increase? Not a chance. We don’t need people moving at the speed of light around the world. It gives a disadvantage to those who don’t and the increased movement speed breaks the purpose of going exploring; to have fun and enjoy the scenery, not buzz past it. There are already passive movement speed buffs and skills that increase movement speed that have a quick recharge.

only item i have seen with wings on it was the bracers of dwayna from the HoM and to a lesser extent the seraph gear (human tier 3). that being said I am completely in support of this. would also extend gear to having more elemental qualities. tired of seeing fire armor/weapons.

When you’re in an event or near one, it will tell you so. And for an example of an event chain, in Caledon Forest, at the beginning, the warden asks you to kill fireflies to light lamps. After you do so, they attract mosquitos and you must kill them all. Small example compared to the great variety out there.

Pretty sure they already said no and/or its really not their concern to do so. Theres a Search feature at the top right, look up race change and you’ll see the same arguments over and over.

Btw, if cultural skins means cultural armors and weapons, ypu can preview them at any time, any level.

Agreed. Half the time I may accidently start rezzing or ill be rezzing and something hits me. I try to dodge or move away but then realize I can’t and lose like 1/4 of my ho before I actually start fighting

If they were to add 1200 range, do it to both weapons then, pistol and shortbow…or you are going to have the pistol users to claim injustice if only shortbow gets 1200 or viseversa, and no we dont need more weapons, theres plenty

Here is what I was referring to. Its a moderator post, but same spiel. The player was suggesting that Mounts, Addons, and LFD be added. The moderator responded do no try to make Gw2 into a copy of WoW; they’re two different games. (Same thing those in favor of mounts say is a lame excuse)

You can probably twist that to say no they did not say no to mounts. However, it is highly implied that that feature is not planned on being implemented. We have waypoints and most classes have passive speed buffs, if not a skill tgat will give speed increase. I’d only say yes, and only if it came down to it, if they were a cosmetic item like town clothes. Otherwise let Gw2 set itself apart for what it is.

They need to make a filter feature on the forums so that anytime mounts is mentioned on the forums the topic is autodeleted. Im not justsaying that because of my opinion (which is no). Anet has said NO MOUNTS. In their own words on another topic, they do not want to be like other MMOs, mounts being one of these features. Its tryong to stand out from the crowd. There are waypoints and your own two legs. Pick one or the other; there is no mounts option. Again, the answer has already been stated, so these topics become pointless.

My explanation does make some sense when you think of it in your terms; The thief as it stands is not a damage dealer from a distance; its given weapons that were purposely given a shorter range. The conclusion we then draw from that is that they are meant to be up close in a fight. If a thief were given a rifle, then they could have an option of range, as that is a long-range weapon; but because it doesn’t have it, you can’t expect a thief’s (player’s) self-determined role to be anything but close up attacks. Giving increased range isn’t the solution, as you said, pistols and shortbows are not weapons for distance. Give the thief a rifle with 1200 range, I won’t have too much of an issue.

Gathering is so bad in this game.

Well I’d much rather see a gathering skill in the game, like most other MMO’s use.

Gathering skills in classic MMOs are not a feature, they are just a time sink badly disguised.

If you want to make the gathering system in GW2 an annoyance because you can’t deal with the few copper lost when you use a high level tool on a lower level node… Well, it’s more your own issue than anything else. The current system is definitely better than the grindy, RNG based based system from other MMOs.

First, the idea that harvesting in this game is NOT a grindy timesink is silly. Gathering in this game is a HUGE timesink already.

Second, if they don’t want to make the gathering sytem “grindy” or annoying, they don’t have too. It could easily be tied to your crafting level, or something that levels fairly quickly so it’s not an annoyance, but rather something your character imporves on with use in a reasonable manner. None of this would change that grinding the mats you need for crafting is a grindy time sink already.

And third, I find it odd no one can disagree without being rude. Funny you would think this is a place to discuss game mechanics, but for many of you, it’s just a place to brag and act like a bigshot. Sad but true.

It takes a bigshot to know that you can only gather certain materials with a certain type of gathering tool? Use the appropriate tier tool to gather what you need (If you hover over it, it tells you the max leveled material you can gather with it.). If you need lower level materials, go to a low level zone. If you need high level materials, go to a high level zone. There is 0 need for a gathering skill or anything of the such. Its an easy feature that only requires a second to see what you can gather with the tool, and the common sense to realize for example, that platinum is higher than copper in tiers. The tools are cheap. Bottom line, gathering is fine as it is.

Thieves have high dps output; they’re not supposed to be out that far from their enemies doing a ton of damage. Having the dps output they have must be compensated in something; which is their defense. However, if you have that damage at a further distance, plus stealthing and shadowstepping, the low defense becomes negligible; you couldn’t even hit them at that rate. That would give melee users a huge disadvantage in confrontations. Thats just how I see it. Many people can play a thief the way it is now perfectley fine; there is nothing wrong with their range, and should not be adjusted.

well of that would truely be a probelm the solution is VERY simple… give whatever weapon with the 1200 range less dmg than the others (whihc generally is the case already for the other professions anyway. I really do wonder if those ppl saying thiefs dont need 1200 range weapons have ever tried to do any real keep sieges in wvw? 900 range as attacker will get you killed in a few seconds, as a defenders you simply wont hit anything but those that stand almost at the base of your walls

Thats not really the answer to the issue at hand. Thieves are meant to have high dps. Take that away and give them more range? Thats pretty much taking away from what the thief is supposed to be. The high dps is a feature of the class, and should not be touched either.
You have to consider things other than WvWvW and taking down doors. PvE confrontations, pvp in WvWvW, etc. The thief’s range is perfectely acceptable to that dps that is guaranteed from playing the class. I like my thief the way he is now, I really don’t wish to see this implemented.

No. There are not ‘ranged’ and ‘melee’ professions. All professions are both ranged and melee. So “Thieves not being a ranged class” is not a point.

When it comes to range, there’s only one professions that stands out: rangers are the long range specialists, and that’s why they can have so may longbow attacks with 1500 range, once traited.
For all other professions, except thieves, there’s 900 and 1200 range skills, some traited, some not.

Thieves may be more about jumping around in the battlefield and closing distances with shadowsteps. But that doesn’t mean they should be left from something all the other professions have.
In the same way elementalists were left out being the only ones without 50% fall damage, thieves are left out being the only ones without a weapon with single target attacks and 1200 range in the auto-attack.
Any other profession can pull an enemy from a group with a 1200 range attack. Thieves would need that enemy to be away from the rest enough to hit it with the border of an AoE.
That got fixed, so should this.

Basically, what you are saying is that because other classes have 1200 range, thieves should get it as well? I find that similar to someone saying Guardians, Waariors, and Mesmers don’t get that 25% movement increase; but the other classes have it, so we should give it to them.

I can only bet that right now one of the devs is reading this right now laughing their butt off. “Look at them trying to come up with where it is! They’re not even close! Hey guys, check out what these kiddos are saying about that one staff we made impossible to find! Its a great laugh.”

The second this staff is found, hell is going to break loose as everyone will be farming for it. Oh well, we’ll find it eventually. Try and find some hidden caves or something in Orr. I doubt it’d be in anything other than a level 80 zone.

The point is that thieves are not a ranged class and therefore should not get extended range that you want. If they were meant to be standing at a distance, they would have been given a bow or a rifle. Thieves are supposed to stealth in, do a huge deal of damage, and then get out quickly since they’re defense is low. The shortbow they have is mainly for conditions, not far-ranged combat. I play a thief, so I’m not just speculating. The daggers, sword, and pistols they have are short-ranged/melee combat weapons as well. So theres really no purpose to give them extended range; they’re supposed to be up in your face.

Thief functions well on range as well as melee.

There’s a difference.

Explain how thieves function well with range if the closest thing they have is a shortbow which can’t shoot far enough as it is. They were given close-range weaponry for a reason.

You don’t see why? How about taking a step back and looking at the actual situation?

GW2 was released only almost-fully-baked. There is a ton of more vital stuff to finish:
-Spectator Mode to launch sPvP’s eSport potential
-Full implementation of ascended gear across the game
-Guild content
-Fixing culling for WvW (which, as stated in the live stream, will require completely recoding how their game reads/loads stuff, which should take years, and they’re trying to do within a few months)
-And all the monthly content they have planned out to continue the “dynamic world” theme they got going on.

They’re no where near ready to manage a public test realm yet, and it’s obvious why not.

About the culling, there was a tech dev post saying they were really close to minimalizing/destroying a good amount of culling. Its sort of expected to be a Feb or March thing if I’m not mistaken.

Warriors have long ranged weapons *Long*bow and rifle. Therefore it makes sense. You’ll have to explain the guardian thing to me, as they have no long ranged weapon other than a sceptor. Like I said, thieves need to get close up and deal high and quick damage. Thats their role.

Don’t agree. If I want my character to be named something, and I get it first, I deserve to have it because I made it. Just because you want a name someone else has doesn’t give you the right to take it away from that person. People could be inactive for any number of reasons, and should come back to seeing their stuff taken because “someone else wanted it”

Thieves aren’t supposed to be able ranged combat really. Notice they dont get any long ranged weapons; (*short*bow, pistols, not rifles). Thieves are supposed to get up in peoples faces, do large amounts of damage and lay conditions.

Legendaries showed you have explored all areas of the game and have lent a helping hand, or just did it for fun. That includes WvWvW. The argument can be made that PvE completion should stay out of WvWvW player’s completion. Use the search feature to look at threads like this; all say the same thing. I am sorry that its harder for you, but its supposed to be hard; rally some players in LA and make some attempts. Can’t hurt to try instead of waiting around.

Its not from fratcals… This weapon was in the game (Well… Lootables) before fractals came out. People were searching for it before the update

Sort of what I was trying to say, but yeah, pretty much. Wonder if its possible a bug is making whatever equation and whatnot skipover the staff in question. However, if its only one boss that drops it and is not frequently visited, that could also explain it.

I’m pretty sure this & all the other named exotics can be found (at a super low rate) inside of the Glorious Chests from major world bosses and event chains. I also know for a fact it is a drop in Fractals.
There’s no possible way the devs would have went to such extremes to hide a drop for a non-greatsword weapon like some of the comments here suggest. Especially when they can’t even put the correct numbers in a crafting recipe, let alone loot drops.

Do you have proof it drops from Fractals? Like it has been said many times, the Devs said it only comes from a specific boss with a big chest at the end. That’s all, and if someone got it out of Fractals, we would know about it by now, wouldn’t we?

Well, if buying 10 unidentified dyes from the daily tokens things sticks, dye prices will drop by a lot. Everyones chances for rare dyes increase (not litterally, more dyes means better chance than having 1, ya know?) and prices drop hopefully. So if account bound dyes are never implemented, at least that would help.

Magic Find is perfectly fine as it is, there is no need to compromise on anything really. The person who uses it just loses 1 stat. Not the end of the world. A player’s skill far outmatches the loss of the stat. When I see people talk about how bad MF is, it sounds like they’re implying that the armor drastically affects you; almost as if using it divides your half in 2 and adds weakness. Its a single stat, not a game changing decision.

I’m not going to read through all of these because I wanted to start a new topic but searched for one. However I feel this suggestion will be buried.

Anyway, I would like to see an option in the gem store to convert dyes from soulbound to accountbound.

The only reason I see Anet not wanting to make dyes accountbound is the hours it would take for employees to do this, and maybe they would lose some sales from the gem store from people buying dyes.

I’m not sure how many people buy dyes w/ gems, I know I don’t. However I’d be more than willing to drop $10-15 to get dyes accountbound.

Lets keep the Gem Store out of it unless it reaches a bottom line. They should really be account bound period.

According to the wiki, 403 dyes have been identified. 403. If we want to have an assortment if colors, we have to collect 403 (minus starter dyes) per character? Thats a little insane imo. So much for completing all your characters.

Why should Anet be responsible for fixing mistakes made by players?

Its not like people are complete idiots. A mistake can be made every now and again, nothing wrong in that. However in this case, dungeon tokens take some time to accumulate for a full set of armor (couple of runs in a few days). 2-3 days of dungeon runs suddenly gone in an instant because someone made an innocent mistake (Assume the norm in that a player gets 180 tokens a day)? People should have a chance to return it should this happen.

After wearing the CoF set for quite some time I grew bored of it (2 dye slots per piece) and seeing how literally everyone is using it nowadays, I decided to change my look. I was aiming for something that makes “I’m experienced adventurer” statement and feels somewhat heavy for Medium armor. I didn’t want it to be whole set again and didn’t want it to be Karma level 80 exotics. Karma set is amazing, but in my opinion it doesn’t fit combat movements of a thief and really feels like an Engineer’s outfit. I also didn’t want to use cultural pieces, because I knew they would never fit anything non-planty looking. So, here is what I came up with and I’m loving it!

What gear are you using, that outfit looks amazing!

No from me. You have to understand how the game works; the way the story and such is coded. For those who say it will be, try learning a bit about programming; the game is designed once you pick your options, your story is set in stone. When you complete one mission, it advances to the next. To just reset all of that would be tricky enough, they would have to rewrite parts of the code. As for the LORE side, doing these missions and leveling is supposed to define who your character is in the world; to have all of that changed just made your character’s efforts pointless. All in all, the idea won’t work with GW2. Just make another character and play; if you really like the game, there shouldn’t be an issue starting a new character.

I laugh at people who care what their character in a video game looks like. When I play, I zoom the camera out as far as possible to see the battlefield and never give half a thought to what color the boot soles are. I never embarrass myself with scrutinizing how a weapon looks with one armor set or another. I sell all my looted dyes to the suckers who think appearance in a video game is important.

My biggest bore in GW1 was that all the armor and weapon specs were the same. Who cared what they looked like? They all did exactly the same thing!

All that matter are THE NUMBERS!

Meh, I prefer to look nice and get good numbers, which is possible, but only for a select number of medium armors. Of course your opinion is fine.

I’ll agree, Medium Armor could use a nice touch up, light and heavy armor seem to get the best looks, more so light imo

I’ll say no with the reasoning of descrimination. Elites would be all over this, and no new/poor players would be able to do a lot of content. I prefer it the way it is now; I can go do any dungeon with rare gear on and still haul some power with me.

Well, the thing here is, as stated by many of you, there are already programs that do this sort of thing for you. Why should Anet bother to make one when there already programs for it? I’m not trying to sound like a bad guy here, however, when you buy a pc game, the expectation is that you play with the mouse and keyboard. There are many more important things Anet could and are working on. When you take a look at many if the features that will be added/ bugs that will be fixed, this issue seems trivial at best. Of course, after all is said and done, I wouldn’t mind them adding support, but I wouldn’t imagine them doing it. I would think it would be outside their scope of priorities.

Hmm… I’d go off the track I see this going in, and say the racial legendaries should be end game quest items. To provide some examples… With the humans, the blade Rytlock uses (I forget the name, begins with an S), the lore has it that it is the twin of another blade (same skin basically, ignore the HoM one that only some get). So that could be an option. For Norn, it could be the bow of the female hero who opposed the sons of svanir (can you tell I suck at names yet?). You get the idea really.

Theres really no need for them to waste their time with this. This game was made for pc, which uses keyboard and mouse. If you want to use a controller, by all means use it, but that doesn’t mean Anet should break their backs implementing this for the .001% who actually use this. Can’t make everyone happy!

Ummm.. I’m not sure how to respond entirely to this thread… You’re seriously asking for nudity? Why would you need to walk around naked? “Seeing detail”… There are plenty of details to look at… Put your armor on and zoom in.
