Was able to play in prime time today, and it was fantastic.
We had HoB, TUP and VII attacking everything on our map and it was really annoying. They made progress on our bay, meanwhile we had FR pushing against hill. We noticed that we couldn’t hold both, so we had to decide. We left bay and saved hills keep a couple times. After PS took bay keep, they stopped all attacks which was suspicious. So we sent out scouts to every tower, even some camps and important gates. And because of these awesome scouts we were able to spot golem attacks right in time. We saw them coming for our watergate, and held them off. Golems fell back, but our commander had the brilliant idea that they would go for hills keep – it was a lucky guess and saved us again. PS managed to get the golems out, and a few minutes later they were back with more at out western tower. But we arrived in time and took them down. One of the best 30 Minutes in WvWvW for me.
Awesome evening, props to everyone involved. I think both sides had a lot of fun.
I hope PS liked my portals. Two or three could have been better, but the majority was quite good.

Nevermind, I did not intend to complain about double teaming. Thats the nature of the game, I’m just trying to explain whats currently happening on Riverside. I do like the lower tiers, there seems to be more pvp action, less nightcapping and a more enjoyable atmosphere, which is refreshing.

Anyway, i liked it, you have some great coordination. It’s always fun when we bump into TUP, very enjoyable fights. Sadly we met only once yesterday, when you guys where knocking on the door of garrison in RS BL. We figured that we need to get in the middle of your group to drive you apart and managed to do so somehow, but it was a fine brawl anyway.
I should start to fraps WvW too, but i’m lacking hdd space. Maybe after christmas

Truth is, Riverside is imploding quickly. Yesterday evening our own borderlands had no queue at all. Piken Square BL is uncontested since reset, because we can’t bring any people on. We’re not able to provide pressure on other servers, when they got their BL fully capped they join ours, which results in us defending against double numbers.
We defended hills keep for like 4 hours yesterday under constant pressure from Fort Ranik. But when Piken Square stepped up on our BL, we got attacked all over the place. Defending all day decreases our player numbers massively, because lots of people want to go out there and bash stuff and not do supply runs, take camps back and bounce between attack symbols.
It’s sad, and I don’t see any improvement soon. Most of all, people who play for Riverside everyday and try to do the best they can are slowly losing their spirit. There is lots of talent, but our hands are tied due to small player numbers most of the time.
Props to PS, you seem to adapt very quickly. Well deserverd lead in this matchup. Last week we got away with it, because your focus was more on AR than us.

It looks like we will fight Piken Square again next week. Last week was great, intense battles and good spirit everywhere. Keep it up, see you guys on the battlefield tonight.
too bad i can’t watch these videos since they’re blocked in germany.
maybe you noticed that we had most of our force in AR BL after reset (which were green short afterwards) and left our BL to a small group and some pugs. it was a mistake and we did not adjust accordingly, but i think we have learned from that and it will not happen again next time.
Besides some not so funny bugusing and glitching, (no doubt the majority of PS is not supporting this, people like that are on every server now and then) it’s a really fun matchup.
No side is afraid of open field battles, and these are quite good indeed. I really enjoyed fighting TUP, heard some good stuff about GG but did not had the chance to meet them this weekend. I’m looking forward to some good fights as I stopped caring about points and score. There were great battles over supply camps yesterday in the PS borderlands.
In case it comes up. It was me who was stuck in the south door at main garrison of Auguryrock-BL. Someone repaired it, so it glitched me in. Tried to get out several times, but there was no way. I couldn’t port because I was in combat mode constantly, so I needed to hit some enemies through the wall and once they realised let them kill me.
Hopefully no bad feelings about “glitching into walls”, it was not intended by me.

If you think about it, WvWvW favors zergplay in many ways. You take out keeps and towers much faster with more people, you can cap supplycamps which are not supposed to be capped, you can rezz people almost instantly. Everyone gets the same xp/karma/gold, regardless how many players capped a supply camp or tower.. Orange swords show you where something big is going on. Its easier to crush that with more numbers and will put you in a good spot.
There is actually no need to split your forces, apart from using “advanced” tactis. But your tactics can be countered by a zerg almost every single time without a problem. Its not a beautiful way of playing the game, but actually the most efficient. Sad, but true
Soon, the guilds on Blacktide will remember the competetive feeling on lower tier servers and tight matches. They will get bored of steamrolling everyone in the first night of the match and start to switch servers, or worse, leave the game. Situations like this are hurting the WvWvW-Community in general. Instead of going through the process of establishing a healthy community on a server, many take the easy way of jumping around and try to find a place which they can call home where other already did the work for them. But because of their attitude towards WvWvW they don’t realize that they are actually destroying the first development steps on servers they came across.
There is a reason why many low-tier servers don’t want to compete in T1 anymore.
Yes, but it is over now. I’m sorry that you had no fun in that time. We told the OSC commander after amazing fights that we would leave our garrison and begin our training session. Unfortunate, but that is something we start to develop on our server. I promise, we will fight all week long from now on. ;-)
Sunday afternoon is training day on Riverside. We develop new tactics, we answer questions from new players, we work on teamplay and communication.
I can assure you, we were not training turtle tactics. We are thinking offensively. Enjoy your keeps and towers, when training is over we usually go out and paint the map in our colors.
While we waited for everyone to show up, we fought OSC for a good one and a half hours with in epics fights.

I can tell you why both sides attack FS. Most of the time you have no players anywhere, so its easy to cap your towers and keeps. At night/morning it basically means free points. Simple as that, no alliance or double teaming.
I know its sucks to be in your position, and I can feel for FS. Before the mass transfer to Blacktide you were the best server in european prime time, only to get nightcapped every single week by Vizunah. It’s a shame, but unfortunately thats the way WuvWuv works. So props to every FS player who comes out every day and put in a good fight. I hope you find your spot in the ranking, and i’m looking forward to good prime time battles.

Good start from Seafarer, but we play the long game ;-)

The system is designed to deliver ranks in a closed environment. As of now with free transfers, this environment is nowhere to be closed. Servers move up and down faster than the ranking system can adjust, because simple transfers of 2 or 3 mid sized guilds cause trouble in entire brackets.
My advice: Don’t bother. Just do not care. As long as transfers are a cheap possibility to escape “unfair” matchups or “find better servers”, there will be inbalances the ranking system simply can’t fix. The way I see it, WvWvW is in an advanced testing phase, just like we experienced with 24h machtups.
ArenaNet should reset the ranks as soon as free transfer are gone. And then we can see how everybody ends up.
Good fights all around, we are all having a blast on Riverside. Easily the best matchup we had for weeks. In my opinion the three sides are equal during EU primetime and everyone is fully committed. It’s not over and I hope it will stay like this until friday.

you build up that lead on reset night. By taking empty keeps at 5am. As i logged on yesterday highnoon, you had every single keep maxed out – over night, where nobody was there to fight you. But maybe you just forgot that. So here I am, reminding you of that. Complaining about taking empty keeps and towers seems a bit off to me.
Riverside were 30-40 man strong yesterday night. We pulled together and jumped maps in groups, So that we were not spread out with 10 men on all maps, but all in one.
and to get this straight.
Riverside is not teaming up with anyone. We did not team up with Arborstone one bit, and we are not doing so with Kodash. We’re always trying to attack the strongest team on each map to weaken them and benefit from that, as it should be. Nothing else.

Yeah, would be a great match. BT take everything in the morning, FS take everything in primetime und Desolation cap everything during the night. Maybe it will even out somehow, circle raiding like in good old times.

Seafarers were really strong yesterday night. Even in nighttime they were able to pull in large groups, which resulted in two red borderlands. Fun fights again everywhere, it’s actually a good matchup. Quite enjoy it, let’s see how it plays out over the week.
Fun fights in Riverside Borderlands. We defended our garrison two or 3 times against seafarers in the lordroom. It was pretty tense. Xaoc from Blacktide proves to be a though enemy. Well organized and quick in executing their tactics.
I’m disappointed that Riverside couldn’t bring more men to the field, we were down to like 20-30 in the night. Hope we will have a great week together, looking forward to this.

Fun fights on wednesday evening in our Riverside Borderland. Hats off to Arborstone, they were able to hold off an incredible amount of pressure. The Seafarers went around our back attacking us instead after a while certainly did not help, but it was fun nevertheless.
Props to everyone involved, some amazing hours of WvWvW.

Riverside here
Good fights on Riverside Borderlands all around. The french PSY-Crew is a tough group and defending their keep very well. OSC from SR is equally challenging and usually do well defending their keep or assaulting us.
We noticed that SR starts losing mapower around 10-11pm UTC+1 quickly. It then evolves into a two way fight between us and the french guys. I heard from other guilds who were playing on blue borderlands, that it’s very hard to do something useful there because SR do not even show up anymore.
But regardless, I hope the rest of the week will be as good as the last 3 days had been.

I can only speak for a few other people and myself, but we noticed that the problem with “not seeing enemy player models” got much better with the last patch.
We were able to spot enemies across the land, we were able to spot enemies which popped out of portals, we were able to spot enemies, period. There are still some minor issues when 2 or 3 large groups meet up, we hope this will be fixed soon too.
We know you guys are working hard to improve the game and we are glad this issue got solved. Thank you for listening to the community and taking care of it. Many people complained, turned their back on WvWvW and it was major issue for everyone.
Had great fights all around the map over the last two days and actually enjoyed them. Thats how it should be.
