They’re not the highest dps and the classes that are behind them are within 1k to 2k dps benchmark lower.

Except you have to put twice the effort on another class to beat their dps. And in some cases you need to put more effort on another class to stay within 2k lower. It’s pretty obvious many players are phasing to condi rangers. They aren’t doing it because they suddenly liked the playstyle, which is exactly the same it was. They’re doing it because the build is OP. Maybe it’s not very OP, but it is clearly an outlier.

Not really. The other classes don’t have very complicated rotations. Condi thief rotation is even easier and is less than 1k behind ranger.

condi thief on certain occasions can pull way ahead of condi ranger iv heard of condi theif having 38k dps lol

Racial skills were a great idea just like underwater combat. But they both got the short end of the stick. I also support the idea of an ingame system like a current event where you go do some stuff in each race and unlock their racial abilities. Like, i dont think a silvari who one of their biggest features is they tendancy to explore and learn new things wouldn’t grow to apriciate the six gods and even declare himself as a believer of theirs.

The one thing iv heard from most ppl was that theold system even tho was wierd it promoted smart use of ccs and coordination. Outside of raids thats not the case. The fact that bosses in fractals or dungeons have the breakbar up 100% of the time means alot of encounters are simply spam cc burst with the extra dmg buff repeat with bo much thought in it. I have 2 suggestions, the first one is already in the game in raids and to lasser extend in fractals.

1) That is to have the breakbar spawn only when the boss or mob is about to do a special attack ( and aoe knockback or whatever attack) that can be dangerous to the group. Just before the attack goes off the break bar shows up (like the gladiator in chaos isles) which if you break the bar you interupt and get the extra dmg. Seems good rewards coordinated cc managing and also paying attention to the boss.

2) The other one is to have the break bar as it is in most bosses in fractals and dungeons be there at all times but only if you break it when the boss does something scary (endboss on urban battleground meteor shower or subject 6’s big poison aoes) you get the extra dmg buff while regular break wil not reward you with the extra dmg. On top of that breakimg the breakbar will put it on the recharge like it does pretty much now and you have the danger of the boss doing the attack while the bar is recharging therefor you threw away your opportunity to cc at the right time.

To indicate when the boss is about to do a big attack the bar could glow yellow (or turn to yellow) around to allert players to start the coordinated ccs.

Also attacks that are not short (like the end boss on the colosus fractal where he puts aoe fields or the general in urban woth meteor shower) these attacks should have the breakbar up for the first 2 seconds. If the bar isnt broke by that time the bar dissapears and the boss gets to finish the cast. This also rewards timed and fast cc.

I believe that what i suggest isnt unreasonable since its pretty straight forward and with the propel scalimg from tier to tier is can also have a smooth curve.

Tier 1 the bar is like it is now. Tier 2 the glow for when abig attack is about to come is added but with a bigger window. Tier 3 the extra dmg is only available if the bar was broken while it was glowing. Tier 4 the glow window is reduced to whatever is proper for each boss and the extra dmg buff is bigger to balance out the increase to hp with the fact that you dont get it always.

The second option also work well around bosses that have fast animations on their deadly attacks (like the ensolyss mama and others ^^). Because then the group can slowly cc the boss during the fight and then burst cc the rest when the break bar starts glowing. This also happens on gorse with most groups that do no updraft where slow to none cc is required.

This suggestions were ade because i think the idea behind the breakbar is fantastic but its only a shadow of how great it can be.

(iv put quite the thought to make sure is as much balanced so go ez on me with your feedback. Also im not demanding or anything lul but if a dev from the fractal team could give this a look and tell me if its a cool idea or not and why wouldnt it work i would really really apriciate it.)

Contrary to some eager voices on the forums, we’re unlikely to get the expac before Q3 2018 anyway, so…

Season 3 would have to run for another cycle in that case. One of their goals was to reduce the downtime, not increase it.

I wouldn’t count on ArenaNet rushing out the remaining legendaries. They simply have no reason to do so and continuing to release them into the next expansion is no different than what they’re already doing now. Season 3 is not HoT. Assuming they don’t simply abandon them when they’re done, legendaries will likely be removed from expansions and kept on their own schedule, allowing for a full set every 2-3 expansions.

i believe they ment they downtime between content updates not expansion and tbh the more it takes the better for the game i eill take a expac that take its time but lives up to the quality everyone expects rather than a quick one.

I would remove random passive crap tbh its bad design when traits use skills pasivelly for you. And it has hurt wvw and pvp. I also ppl ppl would aprieciate trait choices that present choices within your gameplay rather than passive crap that just sits there doing stuff for you.

Sounds like a good idea to me. I like the trait system we have now, it’s far from perfect, some weak lines but it’s pretty good.

That’s a great idea! Then remove some of the pointless traits and bake them in — like, say, that “+1% / +2% / +2%” damage set everyone always takes, because it doesn’t add much value.

Once you have done that, you might consider grouping them together in related options, or placing constraints to make there be meaningful choices about what you give up in the trait options and, …. oooh, looky.

You end up more or less where we are today with the GW2 trait system, which is more or less the WoW glyph system, and more or less the ESO champion point system, and … hey.

Almost as if once you strip out the fluff, it ends up looking more or less like what GW2 has today.

the champion system is a bad system the gw2 system is not a bad system. Gw2’s needs some tweaks ESO’s system needs removing.

What Legendary can the WvW Players get you might be thinking?
Well the answer is about as much as Anet cares about WvW these days

Raids shouldn’t be the only source of legendary armor and it should have been given to WvW players too. Not to give WvW a legendary to work towards which it desperately needs but like the legendary backpack it spreads out the reward. Legendary armor is the big bad reward for raids and there are no doubt people right now who don’t like raids and are only chasing that carrot on a stick. The carrot is so big and so focused in that single mode that the second people get it they’ll start bailing on raids. Armor isn’t weapons as your main toon will ever need one set of legendary armor what are they possibly going to give to loot chasers after the armor?

Its really disappointing how bad the community has gotten. It use to be people could wear glass and survive because they took dodging seriously.

Edit: Actually its probably more accurate to say people don’t know how to use blinds anymore. I rarely see an ele use sandstorm over lighting storm, a thief swap to sword pistol for trash, etc.

Ppl didnt get worse ppl were always bad. Its just that getting endgame ready nowdays is far easier than pre hot.

idk ihave played almost 2 3rds of your total play time over 1 and a half -2 years so yeah… And im not trashing on your vid it was cool i like seeing ppl do this sort of stuff of stuff for games they like. But if we can be real back ore hot only 4 5 of the classes were considered viable so idk how much more unbalanced the game is now (again speaking from the prespective of pve and pve endgane).

So you took the clips and added music ontop of them cool. Eh hot was ok i personally enjoyed it and got many hours of enjoyment out of it but i know groups that didnt as much (pvp wvw and i suppose the casual player somewhat). Im sure tho that they can do far better. Just not sure how you still have hope when the title of the thread is “gw2 lost” which btw aint true the game is doing ok.

Im all in on you idea tho and i would go as far as to suggest they also give a glider when you unlock this since with this recipe it will be one of the more time consuming backpieces to make.

Now I reageared up it again, and I falled in love with the new gs soul reapering rotation.

i would change deathly chill to make it so aplying chill aplies dmg and make it scale with power boom power necro is viable as kitten

Actually the best DPS rotation for Power reaper is Just Camp GS AA using skill 2+4 off cd. (And Wells) then start to spam GS 2 After 50%.
Using shroud AA is a DPS Loss, same for swap to any other weaponset.
Your suggestion “chill a foe applies damage to that foe” would push camping GS AA even more.
While totally killing the condi build that live thanks by bleeds from chill trait and consequently kill a fun and fresh Dynamic build that involve 2 weaponset swap, AA and 5+4 on RS and the use of the whole utility skill bar.
Again, the best buff necro can get is the fields prioritize, that, as someone more experienced than me already said, is something about 4k dps in real raid scenario.
Sbam, necro become instantly more viable, and very competitive.

for the condi build, it should be killed if you only take reaper for that one broken gm trait tbh. Condi necro was the power spec and 1 trait turns it 180 while you could have the base necro just be the stronger condi build for necro and have reaper change that.

condi ranger is fine.

Thats not the rangers issue (the fact that you dont provide support) the support is there on the utility bar options they don’t do so because the other 2 must have rangers (druids) do bring. And thats the core issue so long as 2 druids are mandatory condi ranger can go yolo big kitten dps builds with no care in the world. If they nerf the druid and 1 or even none is enough then you will see how the cranger dps will drop because they will have to take spirits or etc for the group.

The big thing HoT did wrong was making raids way too important to the over all game. Classes live and die off of the balancing to raids aimed builds but for some reason it effects both wvw and open world pve. In a way anet is giving up there old game types for a new one and much smaller / less played. HoT kind of messed things up in that way.

Open world pve doesn’t need balance, it never has and never will unless arenanet moves away from gather 50-100 people, zerg down event, done.

That’s exactly the thinking that leads to raids’ overblown importance in this game.

No, there’s no content that “doesn’t need balancing”. Not unless you treat it as completely unimportant.

raid balance doesnt kill the class to other areas of the game. And it certaintly doesnt kill classes in open world pve fractals or dungeons so yea..

I disagree that character bound masteries would have been a better approach. All it would have done is spread out the grind somewhat. But eventually it would require more grind to get all of your characters their masteries than it currently requires.

The masteries system was presented as a character progression system pass lvl 80 and to that it failed because after i did everything with my main and i said “hey lets lvl up a guard and do raids and t4 with it” i got to 80 and had everything unlocked and there was nowhere to be found that supposed lvl 80+ character progression. Ofc its a give that if the next expac masteries are chharacter bound the xn need will be normalised for the fact that you gotta do it seperatelly with every char. Its the same thing with elite specs tbh they were sold as this goal ppl would have while playing the expac no the free run around vd reword bs that it has become because ppl cried about it on forums.

Hey mate, welcome back. Yeah, I’m still here. Not as happy with the direction of the game, but still happy with quite a bit of the stuff that’s come out. For example, a new zone with each living story chapter. The stories are better than the were too, at least to me.

If you own Heart of Thorns, there’s more challenging content in both the open world and raids. Gliding has changed the game quite a bit for me, and my guild hall is fully upgraded, and happily chugging along.

I still play every day.

whats the direction that the game is taking that you dont like?

I never felt raiding belonged in this game. I think some of the grind for certain items is too high for casual players, combined with timers and having to use LFG to get into specific maps, which seems to offend some people, even though I don’t mind it.

At the end of the day, with the new content, without a timer site and using LFG, it’s much harder to get stuff done. Half the playerbase doesn’t realize it.

Raids are a symptom of the game moving to harder content that requires more dedication to beat.

This game was once more pick up and play. You can still play it casually but you need to know a lot more.

Interestng opinions. I believe tho that there need to be content and pace for 2 diff groups because not everyone plays this game casually as well as not everyone plays it hardcore. Both are parts of the population and both should be pleased by diff things anet does. Tbh i felt like the game needed some atttention to ppl who put alot more effort to do things and what not because imho completing harder things and getting what you came for that way feels all the more satisfying.

Again, remember our experiences with earlier MMO expansions. And I’ll say it . . . a lot of our new players are first-timers from World of Warcraft. Now compare the content released from those expansions to Heart of Thorns.

For me the argument would be that the price of a WoW expansion only allows you to play it for a month. In order to play that expansion for a year you would pay the $60 or so plus an additional $165 for a total of $225.

WoW expansion cost = $225.
GW2 expansion cost = $60.

I do not care for HoT, but the price seems pretty reasonable to me.

A pretty unfair comparison considering I see people all the time spend the equivalent of a subscription in GW2, thus the cost being the same. Yes it’s not “required” to buy things on the gem store, but I see so many people do it and then turn around and boast that this game isn’t subscription based, but by buying things like that on a routine basis as they do, that is equivalent in cost to a subscription.

you see ppl do it that doesnt mean everyone does it also gw2 has prob 1/10th of wow’s population.

Something like a power version of Fear and Terror? This can help power but will kill condi. What about Making Terror working on fear and chill when the necro is 600 range near the target?

Something like

(0.2 * Power Damage)+(0.2 * Condition Damage) + 444; 33% less if target has no other conditions.

Instead of

(0.4 * Condition Damage) + 444; 33% less if target has no other conditions.

If picked it’s less survival from Vital Persistence, wich is one of the bringer of “immortality” at non-necro eyes.

istill believe tho that reaper should have been the power spec and base necro could have been the condi one or a future elite spec but to tell you that might work to but idk another choice could be to buff lifesteal and make skills of your alie self bleed or sttaight dmg on skill use like gravediggers deals x amount of dmg or a small %

i disagree, i love current necro build. blood magic is pathetic because it revolves around downed state, which is something nobody should be doing in the first place.

I played necro back in the past before lichfrom Nerf and to me it was really boring.
Now I reageared up it again, and I falled in love with the new gs soul reapering rotation.

i would change deathly chill to make it so aplying chill aplies dmg and make it scale with power boom power necro is viable as kitten

Taking in Mind that gs AA applies chill, with that change you are killing the condi build (fun rotation) with a Just brainless 1111111 build.
No thanks, Just change fields and finisher to prioritize your own ones and then make some adjustement if Needed.

Technically, the only thing that it change is that you would have to wear a power armor instead of a condi armor and condi build would again be forced to use scepter and the scepter trait.

Changing finisher to prioritize your own have only a little impact on reaper since outside of our only frost field we got 0 benefit from our others fields (or at least not more than from any other field in game).

Deathly chill in it’s actual form is like a wooden plank from an old coffin that is barely able to keep the reaper alive out in the ocean while some other professions ride a luxurious boat. Joke aside, this trait is another make or break trait which is probably not the best kind of trait that we should encounter in the game. It’s just unhealthy, it show that the necromancer have a weak base and is forced into a few powerful traits to barely survive as a third wheel profession.

Idk about you but reaper in my eyes and in the eyes of many was the power spec. With that being said changing it to deal good dmg with each chill aplication while also giving the field priority as well as buffing the dmg on some other weapon skills so you dont have a big dps loss while w8ing for shroud 5 and 4 to come off cd would make this a really unique and fun power build imho. It will also give reaper clarity of purpose as it will be the power spec.

As for condi necro either the next elite spec or like engi make the base necro and its condi based traitlines stronger.

the rotation stays the exact same you just swich scepter dagger for a power weapon set. The fact that you came up with this statement makes me wonder if you even know how the class plays in the first place.
