Yeah, it seems like the population would not want any form of change that does differentiate the current system.

The current system is a lot more discriminating than the systems that was suggested above…….What bothers me the most is the “idea of what it takes to be Nr. 1” I am fine with losing, it is the simple idea for what it takes to be Nr. 1 that bothers me……….
What I, and hopefully alot of other players want:

Best at fighting, presenting strategies, orders that are good for every class, even if not melee or ranged.

What currently it is: Who got the most people from other servers/regions/time zones.

Even a system that is more about points per kill would be a bigger improvement than the current system we have.

Yeah in EU the time zones don’t differ that much, so using that as an excuse is simply wrong (Even if you dont know the different time zones is like 3 hours between, you still can even see in megaservers that it is empty on night time, no one is doing dungeons).

In NA however it does, so closing borderlands is probably not an option in any way……I never wanted it to be anyways.

Back to my question, if you could get more points during 12:00-03:00 (server time) or something like that, would it in anyway make the game worse for the players who are on other geographical regions of the world?

We probably all know that there are some servers who are not that good at fighting, though succeeding with the night guilds.
This trend have led alot of servers to buy guilds from NA to transfer into EU and fight at night so they remain high.

I know that simply blocking WvW in night time would be good for a majority of people, but it is too……wrong, the idea of blocking people from gametime because their time zone is incorrect is simply wrong, even though only a minority of people do happen to be in EU and play on another time. Though my servers commander have been on for 17 hours so we can at least have a somewhat decent chance against 2 other servers last week.

My question is……

Why dont they just block of borderlands? They are all rather familiar and most would rather join EB

I honestly do see a small problem with closing some borderlands, since the gameplay will be limited to some, which always bothered me in other games……..

Or set a point system, so that the points gathered from prime time (“x time” to “x time”) gives more points.

~This would intrigue people with amazing players and commanders to play more, since there is a real chance, not the usual, get on and win almost every fight on the first day at equal numbers be like 4k ahead in points and suddenly lose it all in night time.~
I Do Not see a problem in having a different point system, the player base would not have any form of limitation, this have been one of the major problems in wvw, and seems like it could be fixed with 1 thing……The only persons I see not liking this idea is either the servers who do have night guilds from other regions to fight for them, or people who have spend money on those night guilds…….

Btw, WvW was my Nr. 1 concern at release, they said that you could join 24/7 that got me and alot of critic players thinking that it might cause such an effect, that instead of WvW being fighting for a realm, it is simply all about who got the money to buy the players from NA.

If differentiating the point system at night vs at morning is a problem for some players, please tell me.

I might be wrong, but I have noticed that in every core gameplay A-Net have some sort of desire to create a boring atmosphere at every gameplay rather than making it fun with a very few reworks?

Here is some examples:

PvE

While SW is kinda “fun” the first time you get in, it gets very boring very fast….with a good reason, I might be wrong, but it seems like it was not created to be farmed so hard, yet it is the way to get into the Beta and amazingly good income….In fact, the only thing I know that gives a same amount of income so fast is dungeon selling, even though that is alot more fun, it does require some knowledge…..unless:
Dungeons

There are alot of small things they could do to remove bugs/exploits on dungeons, so that at least people have to do the bosses…….Even invisible walls would help alot.

(By the way, this is a little writing for those who abuses the exploits/bugs on a daily basis and dont see it as an offence…….. yes using an exploit/bug is an offence on the user agreement….even though not selling it but just using, just so I wont get annoyed by people who does that on a daily basis I will just copy/paste and put in a link.)

This one is rather documented…almost all around.
First of all, as I remember it the game were about which server is the best at fighting/winning the fights not "which server have bought NA guilds so they get to be Nr 1) the sad thing about this, is that these servers can be behind the first few hours, lost almost every battle, but as soon as everyone from other servers is asleep, the NA guilds get into WvW to turn the battle around.

Just by closing the borderlands, this would change alot of things, the points gathered from the borderlands at like reset to noon…..Eternal Battlegrounds would still be open, which would mean that the server(s) who got this night NA guilds, that they would still be having something to do, and borderlands would be closed at night time, so that fighting an opponent and winning could actually mean something…..This would be good at all parts, not just the majority of players on the EU servers.

PvP

Making something like a trail version for new players to join to see the different tactics, I know from my own perspective that it can be difficult.
Though, the pvp is great with a structured party, only part I dont like is as I said there is no type of trail/try out mode with like with NPC´s so people could at least know the different tactics……Which makes it easy for any structured party vs anyone who dont have a party.

(There probably is a lot more in depth).
So now my question……..Is it this simple to fix? Am I totally wrong regarding the different aspects of the game?

Let me put this very simple for everyone that do NOT play thief, but somehow like this change because gank in WvW and affect another profession in a negative way so the others get better…..

First of all, this deletes almost a whole trait, yes I am talking about Shadow arts, if they decide that the timer have to be 5 seconds, why dont they simply remove that whole line and add another one that could actually be useful in some ways, since the shadow arts is truely a worthless trait line at this point? There simply is very little might stack while stealthed, cond remover, and you are revealed the second that refuge or Smoke Screen is done stacking up, you can’t even move while stealthed…..

In dungeons people might as well just get a mesmer or other classes, since they would be so much more useful, thief have to stack up stealth, whole party will get revealed be4 the stack is done, in either Shadow Refuge or Smoke Screen….

Yes I do get that some people like it when a profession they do not play get nerfed so that their own profession is simply a lot better……But this is taking it to far.

I should probably have noted that I mainly go with elementalist in WvW, thief is my dungeon/open world class. But rarely go for roaming when the whole map is empty :p

I cant stealth with my thief at all in wvw, since the patch, you get revealed when out of combat.

The guards/archer respawn if the keep were taken, and they keep respawning even when killed.

Just me, or everytime there is a patch note that actually does anything but action house buy/sell stuff, then there is always huge problem right after that takes very long to fix?

I suggest reading the top sticky on the forum, I’m having a difficult time understanding your help question to the format of the forum. I’d just say don’t worry about the future, “what if’s” don’t matter today, or who is doing what. If you want to PUG dungeons today, prolly zerker will work for you, something to aim for, at least once you have run them until your eyes bleed and so can survive it in zerker and with a mind to farm them out constantly. But it’s just not a universal meta for everything under every circumstance. You can only determine what works for you after a bit of broad game experience. Such as full zerker builds are a bit laughed at doing Teq, but then if that really works for you and not just a revive problem for everyone, more power to ya.

Ohh, first of all, the top sticky is about if I have questions about anything in game or out…..

(^I wrote this, because you did not know what I was asking about, so I simply made a very short reply that touched every answer above).

-Second of all, zerker will probably be the meta, at least with these specializations shown to us so far, and the druid we know ranger is getting, it simply doesnt look like it will change since damage output is not higher than zerker (unless if they change all dungeons or make double the amount/more rewarding once/change fractals) and looks more WvW oriented rather than dungeon, which zerker ofc is.

-Besides, I have an ele which I play with in WvW or open world, while I got thief which I play in solo runs/dungeons. (Just so you know, that even though I understand the idea behind zerker more, it still doesnt mean I dont play other things).

As an extra, wrote all this because there might be people who see me as a 100% zerker, or that I am thinking that they would change the meta, this would be easy to copy/paste. My only question in this thread is why people want to change this meta to something else, and what the results would be at all:

Thank you all, I have read it all. My question were mostly PvE related, if there had to be a meta, why it should not be zerker rather than other builds. I simply only knew the 1 side of the argument, the other usually gets mad quiet fast and starts to block if asked questions further than that.

What I have stated so far, is that people do not mind that Zerker simply is the meta build, tho that the game….or at least the population of the game is bad, since they wanna speedrun and do not let others enter, or go so far as to steal dungeons.

My next question would be:

If it is the people that are the problem, would it even matter if the meta changed unless if fully changed so there would at least be 5+ different metas for each profession?

I might be wrong here, but seems very much like zerker “meta” is the best if there have to be a meta at all. If they can figure out a way to remove any meta, then that would be amazing, but having a meta with least HP (like 10-13k HP) least toughness, least everything that can make it easier to simply stand still and not move/use heal so much is a bad meta for me…..

If something like bunker was amazing, while zerker was not good in anyway because of toughness vs PvE or something……Wouldn’t that make the game ALOT worse, since dodging would be less of a necessary and heal as well?

So here is my question……..If they change meta to anything that is not meta wouldn’t it

1: invalidate ALOT of players hard work to ascended? (I dont have the numbers, but got the feeling that most players who got ascended probably got full zerker or some teq piece of gear/weapon, this would simply mean that gw2 might as well could have added some new levels to the game, and that alot of people got made because our ascended cant be used anymore…..even if they were upgradable)

2: Create a less motivated gameplay? (When people want to change the meta it is normally based on what they are currently running, which could be something like condition or bunker builds, which I mentioned before, I normally solo dungeons with around 10-13k health, if I were to do it with alot more hp, I couldn’t be one shot by lupi, this would mean I dont have to move as much).

3: Do people want to change meta fully so all gears are viable, or simply rotate it so there will be a meta, but it will not be zerker?
(I might be wrong, but seems like that there will always be a meta if not for everyone, then at least for every profession, and their specializations, won’t change that, they will simply rotate it.

Thank you very much to whom that writes, as a side note, yes I am with the zerker meta idea, it is simply the one that makes sense, if there have to be a meta, then it should be zerker, not only because they might as well have added new levels if they decide to turn the meta, but also because it is one of the once with less defense=more movement=more skilled gameplay.

I have not followed A-Net with this new expansion, so if you got answers towards these questions, please answer, and if we dont know them yet, you can answer as well. (Yeah, I have been lazy :P)

Personal Story:

  • Is it going to be a living story content kinda patch, or is it going to be like the fight vs Zhaitan? (One big story).

PvE:

  • Is the jungle itself going to be a big dry top/sw farm map, or will it be like the old once, based on exploring instead of farm? (Based on their interest to let people enter through a SW farm, I guess it is something close towards that idea).
  • I remember they mentioned something about new civilizations, and that you can learn about their language, will there be new races entirely or known already
  • Will we have new dungeons, and if so, will they depend on these new mastery systems?

PvP:

  • Will we have new PvP formats? Naval fights, 1v1, basically pvp fights that is not based on objectives?

Guilds:

  • Will Guilds be able to GvG? (That joke about Guild Wars 2…Taking 2 years to come up with Guild Wars.)
  • Will Guild Halls be defensible/attackable?
  • Will Guilds) have their own space in the open world or will it be the same spot everyone enter to, to get into an instance?

I don’t remember having any huge issue with the previous party model, nor have I personally seen any….I do belive it when people say that there probably where issues, but I have personally not seen a single example of that…..(if you have please send me a PM of a video or pic/something…..)

The old system was really horrible and needed to go. How it worked was the player who first entered the dungeon was the “owner” of the instance, and if they left the party for any reason, the instance would shut down and kick everyone out.

So, if the owner drops party, gets kicked, dc’s and doesn’t return, etc, the instance and all progress would be lost.

There was no indication of who the opener was, either, so if a party member disappears and someone rushes the kick, it may be the instance owner and bye-bye dungeon.

The behavior was completely unintuitive, so players who hadn’t been warned about or experienced it would sometimes drop party, and unwittingly kill the instance for their party members.

Sometimes people were just stupid, like after the time I trio’d (as owner) Arah p4 with some guildies, only to accidentally click “Leave Party” instead of “Kick from Party” when a buyer refused to pay…I’m suprised Bra and Alq still talk to me after that one >.>

As far as risks, it wasn’t much different. Two people could still join and grief you. Only difference was that there was no profit motive to steal & sell. Sellers were the main targets, as griefers would just join and kill seller instances all day. Man, I have so much heitred for those guys.

As I said, I believe you when you say that there were problems, I simply have not seen a single one yet, there were probably troll people who threw path sellers out and DC=instance dropped, thats why I want the dynamic party system- Both of these party systems are horrific and in worst case they both really are bad.

Anet’s stance is that they don’t really care about selling paths as long as no exploits are involved, and similar to scams via mail and player-player trading they’ll move to take action against scammers based on evidence from an agent but that’s about it.

Dont think it requires a highly structured summary to see which one of the systems that ended with having bigger scams in it, just looking at the forum/in game based on the evolvement of scams in the game. Besides, I requested different parties in a game like this, it is not like you could steal and sell paths in other MMO´s since end dungeon is not that important as in Guild Wars………

I requested a dynamic system, based on the same as commander tag, that you could give each party system a color based on what you are doing (as an example, if you wvw the kick needs to be fast if 1 logs off, and you don’t rely on them in any way, and in dungeons, it is important to rely on people you dont know, which is rather hard.)

Here’s a thought:

. They absolutely and exactly know the scale and extent of complaints under each system. We do not, but they do.

. They also have no idealogical connection to any given system.

. This the system we’ve ended up with

The dots aren’t hard to connect.

They also have known for a LONG time that arah have multiple bug issues, Necrid Bolt, avoiding of 3 bosses that could literally been stopped by just putting a few invisible walls on a spot or even monsters etc…………
It is simply not valid that they know the count of the problems when it is clear to the rest of the players that they do not react on them.

So there are 3 systems in question (funny as we think about it how the thread has mutated)

1) Owner with instance destruction
2) Second to Kick.
3) Majority to kick.

I’m as a general rule against ‘owner’ systems because they’re prone to abuse, giving too much power to the ‘owner’. Still let’s try to work out what can be abused in each system.

1) (owner)
Owner has pretty great leeway to kick others and generally cannot be kicked. Owner has a very large amount of abusable power, and there’s no recourse outside of GM intervention.

2) (second)
Any 2 people working in concert can kick anyone and seize control of the instance. No single person can wreak havok (as in version 1), but 2 people working in concert can do whatever they want (if they’re fast enough)

3) (majority)
It’s extremely difficult in the case of a full group to seize an instance. You need to get enough people in all at once, and in such a way that the balance doesn’t shift to keep them from kicking. Parties of 2 or less are vulnerable to a concentrated attack, but there realistically has to be a line somewehre, and you’re only gonna get your party reduced to 2 in some pretty unusual circumstances.

This doesn’t of course address the question of how prevalent problems with the issue are, but we don’t have any real numbers to look at.

Look in the game, there are on almost a daily basis a group of people that got kicked at end game, because they wanted to sell, or a childish behavior where they simply threw them out because they needed spots for other people like half through a dungeon……..

Glad you took my idea (or atleast reaaaally close to my idea) as an example in page 1, this is probably the best idea and qualified for any situation, if you are in WvW and having a group is not nessecary but needed and kick needs to go fast, or if you have used 30-40+ minutes of your time to kill every boss legit and need to rely on the people getting in……..

I don’t remember having any huge issue with the previous party model, nor have I personally seen any….I do belive it when people say that there probably where issues, but I have personally not seen a single example of that…..(if you have please send me a PM of a video or pic/something…..) This new system does not only allow people to throw other people out while finishing a dungeon……Because, why should they use their time on finishing one, when they can get in at the very last second and steal it, this new system gave these people a lot of ground to work on…….which evidently have caused a lot of problems/threads etc……(Btw, please no lecturing what I should have done again, it is rather hard to find 3 people to afk with me for no reason, and even if they do, guilds selling paths have repeatedly shown that people still can get kicked, they just need to give out 5g to recieve around 20-28 back).

I dont know if it simply is because you dont/cant do solo runs that you dont see this as a problem, but it is, and also a pretty huge one, beside the fact that even if you don’t see soloing a dungeon as being part of Gw2, these people still abuse it in alot of other things as described above, and on page 1…. So you can identify yourself with a problem like this…..

And they had an instance owner system it was abused just as much (run > kick > sell) and also led to accidental problems like leaders crashing or raging out or whatever.

The owner system is many times worse.

The owner system, is alot better, the owner system means that the original owner owns the party, which means that person can not be kicked without rest of party being kicked as well…….I simply cant see how that it worse, while in the previous party you could only be able to complete dungeon and kick to thereafter sell (which I honestly have not seen yet, since it would require him going against 4 people and not one), in this you not only can do that, but you have variations, like for example remove the whole party without having any repercussions, or get into the party at the very end, as it happend with me.

Which is why I think that a dynamic party system would be alot better, this way there are alot of variations based on what you do, exactly what an MMO like gw2 needs.

i believe a party leader system would be much better and safer overall for both sellers and runners. right now there is still griefing without consequences even with a so called majority votekick system. party chat log shouldnt be wiped after being kicked as well. it should tell who votekicks, joins, and leaves even after being kicked. there is no logic in wiping the party chat after being booted.

I wrote a bit to fast, did not understand my own message :P, but I tried to suggest a party system where there are multiple systems and they each have a different color…like:

Purple: Majority Vote Kick with timer to react, instead of this click spam.
(Can be used for normal dungeon runs, so no fast votekicks).

Blue: majority vote kick (can be used if in a WvW random zerg party, and in need of a fast easy way to change person).

Green: Owner can kicked out, but dungeon lost. (Can be used for guild runs, so people don’t kick guilds).

Red: Owner can not be kicked at all. (Can be used for selling dungeons, guild runs, fractal, or any other game that require a somewhat huge credibility of random people).

This way there would be no way of scamming people of their own dungeon

this new party kick system does not improve anything. in a party of 4, it still takes 2 to kick a person and then follow up with a quick kick on the last person.

Which is honestly part of my evidence that Anet doesn’t care to protect people doing this. They changed the system that protects the majority of players in a group, not a system that protects any single player regardless of their contribution.

This system does not help a majority nor a minority…this system is a change but did nothing what so ever, if 2+ players join any dungeon/party and want to take over, they have the full right to do so, and there are million of posts that does that in every aspect of the game, from something as silly as finishing/stealing paths as removing the other players at end dungeon to make room for party……… This system have to be dynamic.

Instead of harassing anyone who have anything intelligent to say, but a little bit against the current system, try to figure out ways to evolve on a system that have been harassing A LOT of people.

If they changed the party system so that there are more than 1 party system (like when you change color as a commander) and it would show in lfg, then it would be completely defended…….the people who play a normal run can have previous system……the guild/wvw raids runs can have the system we have now, while runs that require a 100% control of the primary controller of the dungeon can have another party(depending on what have been shown most as scam they can add another party system(…..This way no one gets violated, gw2 decreases the scamming in their own game, which makes people happy……I dont know how hard it is to make such a system, but shouldn’t be impossible or amazingly hard, like making a new zone, since it simply changes the owner(s) over the party, and it would do SOO much more good for the game, clearly there will be more trust around it which makes it a lot easier to enjoy than run over…..

Yes, I am…..I am looking for things legally to support my idea, I could bring up the government’s service rules of conduct as well, but find it unnecessary since most can be explained on the website……

Could you tell me where it does say that I can’t use a lfg system to sell paths, I can not find it?

They’ve said they don’t suport path selling however path stealing or happy kicks still can be reported.

However don’t count on any consequences here. I know at least 3 constant path stealers that run around in LA laughing at faces of cheated players.

You’re right they’ve never explicitly said they won’t punish people that steal paths, but it’s also reasonably clear how they treat it.

In this specific case, the OP made a bad mistake anyways, trying to sell a path when you can’t enforce a kick is honestly poor planning. What was going to happen if they just refused to pay?

In essence my position is this:

You cannot act as if path selling is a protected practice

This means that you have to take every means to protect yourself you can, it’s going to be very hard to convince them to act, and it’s going to take a particularly egregious case of abuse to get their attention.

I want to be careful about ‘blame the victim’, but there were so many ways he was asking for it on this one.

You are basically lecturing me about to be careful and that selling paths is not a protected practice……..

I was stupid to believe that people would not steal my path, I Completely understand that, but that part have passed on, as you see.. This whole thread is 1 move after that….

That “lecturing” is simply a completely unnecessary comment that tells me “what I should have done”…. We are passed that, now I simply want some kind of justice against these 2 individuals who stole my path. That is the only part that matter, lecturing and explaining what I should have done is simply a waste of text.

So let me get this right…. based on a clear scam which violate the in-game policies, they dont interviene in it? Like let it be another point of a game they do not take any responsebillity for and say that they dont want to do anything about it even though having full control over the game ?

The problem with your argument is what the two players did is not actually conflicting with the terms of service. An in game scam just by kicking another player does not count as a hack, cheat, exploit, or mod. Interactions between players that do not move outside the legally binding terms of service are not ANETs responsibility. If you got scammed, like others have said report them and move on, and when you try to sell a dungeon I advise using friends/guildies to hold 2 spots so this kind of thing doesn’t happen.

You are wrong, my argument stands, they have cheated in the game….they have scammed by throwing the owner out of the sole purpose of gaining the gold he have earned….which I dont get and besides all this.

1) You can report them ingame. Nothing will happen.

2) You can submit a report ticket about being griefed in your run. There’s a 99.9% chance they’ll send you the automated “we’re looking into WvW griefing” answer.

3) You can try to send a message to our Lord and Saviour Chris Cleary, because he does take action against dem griefers yo.

4) You can check my YT channel (in my signature normally) to find a video about me getting revenge on griefers and popcorn on the comments

Now finding the post with the statement they are talking about is going to take a lot of digging, so instead, I shall mention what I do remember of the statement. What was said was basically this: They will not make a special case for path sellers, they do not support path selling, but to still report any instance destroying/stealing. If the reported person is a repeat offender, actions will be taken.

Lol, if that is true, then I find A-Net evolved from a good company to a childish company that does not take care of their game and even when violated to a legally point of view…..Even if they said that this is not their responsibility (Which they can NOT say), they still should do something about this.

That being said, there’s a point there. WE only hear one side of the story, and a massively undetailed part of that story too.

I didn’t see the screen, so we don’t even know if he was selling. Still, the situation seems a bit weird if we get right down to it, generally people don’t kick for no reason (even trolling sellers is a reason).

In short:

If he was selling paths he’s on his own, Anet is very clear on that.

If he wasn’t selling what led to the other folks kicking him?

My pictures showed pretty clearly that I was at the end with my thief selling welcoming them both and got kicked out in less than 2 minutes after they both got in……I can not show the pictures anymore but I guess everyone else have seen them.

(Thiese 2 induviduals have been doing it for a very long time and A-Net havent done anything to them….GUesss more people will report me for showing the pictures so wont……)

I work hard to complete that dungeon, it is not easy nor is it anywhere near lazy individuals, it is normally people who have either changed servers with a new account and dont want to repeat same process or high levels that are very close and just need a few more tokens………

And you want to bring the lazy card out? The whole game game society stands BESIDE a dragon to not do anything but press 1(Could be said about any boss but teq, even though it is the same process run back and forth)……They repeat the easy process of every dungeon, skip paths, 1 shot lupi…..And you want to talk about something that actually takes skill in the game as actually doing a whole path…..LOOOL…….

In conclusion, selling paths is normal for old players that dont want to repeat same process since they probably already have done it, or else it is simply stupid to use all the money you have for something that you dont even get something good from……This is probably the least “lazy” thing in the game…..

(By very hard, I mean 30+ minutes, this is the hardest thing I have seen in the game, I have played for 2 years been top 200-300 pvp playing structured WvW, gained every ascended without buying a single gem to transfer into gold……Get your priorities right…)

I’ve been having an argument with my Ex this morning about Lupi.

She says that Lupi scales in damage, hp and the number of bolts he fires during Phase 2/3 based on the number of players / NPCs that are in the Dungeon when it starts and is therefore a lot easier to solo then to kill as a group.

However my experience with Dungeons is that the only thing that scales in the number for AoE Player Targeted attacks a boss does (due to less players). However Damage / HP feels like it remains the same. So the number of bolt Lupi fires during phase 2/3 would be less because there are less players, but the amount of damage (ie one-shotting most people) would be the same.

Has anyone does any research on this?
Is soloing Lupi that much easier cause its one person and not 5 (if all 5 know what they are doing)?

If true why don’t people start dungeons with a whole party and not just themselves and add people later (ie dungeons scaling to one person) to make the ride easier?

It does not scale HP, the damage done by each bolt, but the number of bolts in phase 2 and the numbers of bolts in the transition between phase 2 and 3 do increase. (If the damage did increase, it would simply be a 1 shot on every player on every skill, which it is not, and if HE did as well, it would take a lot longer than it currently does without 1 shotting, since it takes around 10-15 minutes soloing it.

You cant skip lupi on arah p3 & p4. The end boss wont activate. He just meant skip to lupi.

Actually new bug, if you are war, you can skip lupi….Second of all “just meant skip to lupi” that is like 3 bosses skipped, which should be reported as soon as done btw…..

seems like the player base just gets worse every day, made a lfg for p4 and the first person that came in asked me if skip through (That means jumping over boss to miss out on the first 2-3 bosses….Probably even lupi)

The party emptied after I said no……I dont mind having something like one shot, since it is probably a use of position etc….. but having exploits like that is way to bad…..And done waaaay too often.

I dont know if you have soloed a arah path yet, but by personal experience……..

No, people like to do arah since the experienced part is made for the higher levels (better traits and gear I know that personal stats will be reset, which you have probably noticed since in lvl 35 in AC it’s basically a insta kill while as lvl 80 with full gear/traits scaled down you got like 5 seconds to dodge) The other dungeons are rather easy and most bosses only have a few attacks which doesnt insta kill you, Thats why there are tournaments and leaderboards on best runs in arah.

Even before the ferocity scaling system was rolled out in April 2014 Arah was still way more popular than all the other dungeons for soloing was. It has very much to do with the fact that you can make a lot of money from it, but also because certain bosses like Lupicus are so popular and iconic.

It was more popular because it still was hard, I am not going to lie, the money behind it is a motivation to do it, but those who only look for money would probably rather go for easier ways to do the dungeon, like making a guard and insta kill lupi…. there would still be alot of people soloing dungeons if it was not for the money, when you see a person soloing basically every boss from the first to the last while of the group is dead, you are going to get motivated (I know so since on every party in Arah this happens, at least 1 in my party will ask how to do it with thief and what trait system/gear and weapon should be used)

Besides, after that it just gets harder=more time to kill since you are going to switch traits and absolutely need double dagger + energy sigils

As I said, I do it because I don’t like zerging around, and find dragon runs rather boring (since people simply stand on 1 point and attack) and all dungeons is pretty much figured out, just 1 wipe and it seems like the party empties in every other dungeon.

Arah for me is a good way to feel like you are doing something, every dodge count 1 wrong move can (probably would) result in insta death and lost like 5 mins besides the 3 mins to run. And I said, need to keep focussed for 10-15 minutes, I like that because even in places like shattered, the main thing to do is stand still and shot beside it, instead of in front it.

^ There are dungeon outside of arah. Most experienced players should be able to solo those easier ones like CM or SE just by looking at videos. And there are many videos on youtube pretty much teach you everything you need to know.

Obviously, people only like to do arah because that’s where all the money is for selling path.

Even though they show you everything on youtube, the system behind defeating arah takes very long, I died first time trying to solo 1 of the paths it took me 4 hours and died so many times that I still can’t believe I kept trying…..
I ended up not completing that path. Still, even now I die alot in the dungeons, since it is truly a 1 mistake=kill kind of situation. Learned how to best use my traits vs each boss personally, so it wont take 10 minutes, but I would still be able to survive. (most people would probably not use the same skill/traits when soloing, a lot of youtube videos are different and so are they in games.

And I agree on your second statement.

I understand that some 1337 players can solo/duo dungeons or some parts of a path.

It’s probably not as hard as you think.

I think most average players would be able to solo most of it. It’s just take them much longer compare to good players.

Not going to lie, it is way harder, and the death count would be ALOT, if you dont know every skill that the boss can do it normally means death, and if you dont know how to counter it with your traits, or at least have a video that shows every trait vs that boss it probably means death too…..

Here is a good explanation…..

As a thief on first boss p3 (Crusher) you need sword/pistol to avoid his 1 shot hammer attack and you cant have Critical Haste in Shadow Arts…if you do, he will most likely insta kill you, his mob will immobilize you and therefore when you turn to dagger dagger you need to focus on both the mob and the boss to dodge the attacks, and if you make it through the 5 mins of insta kill each 5 secs you have to stealth through, which isn’t hard at all, but still need to be done since even 1 mob can kill you and there are like 10-20 on your way to the next boss……

On the next boss you need skills on acrobatics or you will die in by the barrage of aoe throws, and okittennow each move he does or you could die by knockdown/lifesteal etc. ofc. while doing all of this you need correct heals and skills, if you dont have wall to support you, you will die since the dodge count is to high. Its essential that you dodge right on the spot when he throws…….

Then lupi which got 3 phases and 3 attacks on each phase + the bug that have occurred which makes him remove 80% of your hp with 1 single attack, which means you cant miss 2 of those or 1 kick…….and you need to fight him for 10-15 minutes without failing once……….Good luck.

Or you can just get a party and finish all bosses in like 1 minute and one shot lupi.

Ohh, that make sense, I thougt that you wanted to downscale the content inside the dungeons, and not just make it so that you remove the requirement for 4 players (Like instead of 4 on tar, there will only be needing 1 to get him out, tho he would not change, in other words, he would still be able to push and put tar on you etc.).

Having a record in game mode or some form for support behind these dungeons, would be awesome…..Especially since people would probably see this as hardcore content.

The idea behind soloing dungeons, is not that you wouldn’t be relying on PUGs (doing it with a party is way easier, less focus and waaaaaaaaaaaaay faster). The idea behind soloing a dungeons is 2 sided.

- A good way to earn money without zerging around with 100 people, or standing beside/on a easy spot of dragons (shattere, teq, Jormag)

- And a good way to go hardcore, beating a arah run means that you have to know every trait you got to deal most damage while still being able to survive since it most likely is 1 shot=dead if react wrong once in the 5-15 mins. the bosses takes to beat.

Make soloing dungeons easier would not help any of these 2 points, I would like to have a way to earn money while soloing and a removal of all known bugs like jumping over maps, so you dont need to sell spots though, it have come to my attention that some of these people buying are not just doing it for saving time, but simply because they cant, this alone decreases the morality behind selling a path, but doing the dungeon is more than fine.

In conclusion, dont make solo easiere but make it so it cant be bought yet still gets money for hardcore run, fix lvl 80 dungeon so bosses cant be avoided and

I have had several different answers, of course that it could be a bug, because no one would really see it in a legit run/sell, nor have it been recorded in the time of doing it.

While others say that it is “clever usage of space/traits/gears” that it was meant to be used this way.
