Im not sure if you have noticed but a lot of Armor skins are used on both male and female. I was wondering why the Female Acolyte skins are the same as male, while every other race is different. It just seems a little odd really.

The charr tend to share skins too, it’s not unique to Asura.

The why is no doubt due to the fact the sylvari/norn/humans all have breasts, while the charr and asura do not (At least, if they do they’re small and well hidden). Creating a whole new set of art assets for a single gender of just two (of the least played) races doesn’t seem like a wise investment of resources.

Fair enough it just annoying at times because of the fact some skins tend to look better on females and sometimes males. Because of the fact they share skins it seems like a certain form of customization is missing.

Keep in mind that in Char society the individual is rated by his prowess in battle and his warband’s strength and renown.
Equally an Asura is judged by the quality of her work and the achievements of her krewe.
In essence both societies are meritocracies and both societies are gender-equal, at least as far as a human can see.

It makes sense that we as Asuras have only one style of armour. Lore-wise, at least.

But what bothers me is that it’s always the male version. I’d want some special, non-gender style of armour. Neither the male nor the female one. The asuran style!

All Asura wear the male version of armor only. The female & male bodies of Asura don’t differ hardly at all. And no breasts. So….The sexy female winged light armor would look more awkward than anything on Asura.

I want to see female armor assets for the Asura and Charr added… especially on Heavy armor Pitfighter and Gladiator sets…

I REALLY WANT FEMALE MODEL ON ASURA! It’s just pure laziness. Imagine the cabalist armor on a tiny asura, I would actually die of the cuteness. All they need to do is just close up the “revealing” parts in it, for example get rid of the split in the winged armor skirt. It would still look cute with it! just put little shorts under there or something! We know female armor model doesnt look bad on them because they done it with the christmas outfit and with the new town clothes. Why not all armor?

Well, I’m quite fine with the armors for my female asura, but in this case I think it would not be awkward at all if they only took the female shoulder-parts. I think it would be quite cute actually. So some slight adjustments would be cool, but like I said in another thread I fear they would make it to cute. I see my asura as a little female scientist and not as a doll.

Btw: The cabalist armor is quite cute in it’s current state already. But I think we got different ideas about what’s cute.^^

This has been a plea that has gone out since the game started, and people discovered their lady asuras didn’t get the cool skirts and bows and frills.

I don’t quite see how it would be against the lore for the female asura to have feminine armor. Doesn’t have to be (non-existent)cleavage baring or something ‘sexy’, just something that looks different than the males’ getup, that says ‘girl’.

You can’t say they don’t have anything feminine in their style, because look at all the hairstyles the girls have with bows and ribbons- so they do fashion things to make the genders look different.

And the ‘they don’t show skin’ argument falls apart when you look at a female asura wearing the light Vigil , Feathered or the PvP Masquerade armors; the heavy Pit Fighter Pit Fighter Exotic and Gladiator armors, all of those have the chest bared to show off the Buff Male Chest- they’ve just been shrunk down for the asura model.

I had a Female Heavy Asura at first and I liked the female Arah armor, but for female Asuaras it’s the male version…

I’d laugh if femsuras started to style their hair just for (probably only human) bookahs to stop mistaking them for males.

I, for once, am grateful for lack of gender dimorphism in asuran (and charr) armors. But in EotN they were all wearing the same glaring colors, patterns, beads, necklaces, hairbands and similar details we don’t get to see much because of poor choice in cultural armors. Three tiers and one dunegon skin (considering class only), come on. :/

Oh I like the lack of gender dimorphism. A lot. Just wish that instead of always-male, we had always-Asura and always-Charr. Meaning I’m fine with there being only one style, if it weren’t the male style from other races copy-pasta-d.
