Can I get some suggestions on some your favourite heavy armour skins for Asuras? Pictures included would be nice.

I had a look through the general asura appearance thread but I’m looking specifically for heavy armour skins.

I kind of like the look of Vigil, but I’d like to see some things like Temple Armour etc.

Note: I don’t like wearing helmets and I’m not going to splurge on T3 cultural, it’s not worth it for me personally.

I personally haven’t found a single complete set that I liked on my Asura, so I’ve decided to mix them.

anyway, on with the show. the 3 armor skins i use are as follows:

Koda set from HotW

Order of Whispers set with starter’s shoulders

Order of Vigil set

Full Vigil.

Vigil does not even resemble roman soldier if used without a helmet.
to me Kodan armor reminds of roman armor so much more.

I like the “banded” armor a lot. Sleek, with reasonably long skirt, dyes nicely, doesn’t clip too much. Surprisingly the craftable “splint” skin is interesting too.
I want to like the Whispers set, but the details just disappear on tiny asuras. Koda set is great too.

In my opinion, no armor (of any archetype) looks good on Asura. It’s too condensed and lacks the detail that the larger races would have in the same armor

The exception would be the Asura culture armor, and an Asura in culture armor looks cooler than any other race in any armor – especially the light and heavy sets.

Sorry for no pics, but if you do a little research you can see what their culture armor looks like.

imo asuran cultural heavy armor is just ugly and “transformer-like”. it lacks the detail that light and medium armor has

My personal favorites would be the T1 and T3 cultural sets as well as the HOTW set. I haven’t set enough gold aside to buy the T3 set yet and I haven’t had much of a reason to go farm HOTW since I already have the exotics I wanted. I do however have a T1 set and a Vigil set. PICTURES.

Darn, you all T1 heavy users make me thinking on getting it, but I don’t have munniez to get the fine stones. Degrading armor to lv 79 and transmuting that sounds kind of overkill to me too

I’m using T2 cultural and thinking about switching to Priory armor. Like the look of both and they look nice in celestial/stream ^^

Here are the 2 armor sets I am using :

Draconic (Crafted)
Dark (Karma Merchant from Orr / Fireheart Rise)

If you’re not apposed to using gems for the armor skins, I find I really like the heavy armor.

I use the Karma armor from Orr (except for the gloves Berserker’s Barbaric Gloves). This is one of the few heavy armors for the Asura I like.

Like I said, I kind of regret spending all my gold on it. It looks nice on a static model, but the shoulders are so huge and unrealistic; as soon as your character moves it throws off the appeal of the set. I still love the helmet, though it doesn’t really fit with any other armor set.

Part of it may also be me missing my 119 gold. I didn’t really have anything else to spend it on, but 119g is a decent chunk of change.

I’ve been looking at other armor sets and mix/match combos, but nothing really seems to “fit.” I actually kind of regret not making a human or norn guardian. Humans and norn both get amazing looking heavy armor sets, and I’m quite fond of that “holy knight” look.

Understandable Quark. I’ve spent ridiculous amounts of gold in the last few months so I felt I’d rather get something more money-friendly.

Rebeth, the quaggan backpack seals the deal. I have one of those on my asura too now

It looks very imbalanced. The shoulders really tie the set together. Without them, the gloves and helm look comically huge. (see attachment 1)

I tried this as well. It looks better than just hiding the shoulders, but the pieces don’t really match, and it looks rather top heavy with the helm. (attachment 2)

I came up with a mix of inquest and T2 that I think looks nice, but I really don’t want to replace my T3 after spending a small fortune on it. The T2 legs leave a small gap at the waist, but there’s almost no clipping. (attachment 3)

This is what im working on for my asura guard.

Head: none (haven’t decided if i want to put one on yet)
Shoulders: TA
Chest: TA
Hands: COE
Leggings: HOTW (Arah would look better, but it would be a while before i can get them)
Boots: COF
Weapon: Destroyer Staff

the dyes are Abyss, Celestial, and Flare.

Asuran T3 Heavy is by far the best armor in the game.

I normally use Midnight blue dye (guild color) + celestial. or Abyss + celestial

That’s a very funny looking Asura you have there.

This is mine!

Lightning is being caused by ‘Bolt’.

I got 4 heavy armor sets for my asura warrior:

1st – karma one + Koda’s helmet

2nd – Vigil set + galvanic boots (‘cause Asura’s feet are clipping with most of the boots and I really hate it!)

3rd – cultural Asura T3 set

4th – Dragon bash helmet + CoF boots + plated armor

For my guardian, I chose a mixture of COF shoulder and gloves, COE helm and chest, Temple legs and Primeval boots.
