Asura’s toes can be seen through boots and, in my opinion, it looks horrible… what do you think about this? :S

I think it should be fixed, so “toes disappear” when you equip boots (only cultural armor works this way… u.u)

I don’t mind it, but it also wouldn’t hurt to give more skin options for toe-less Asura boots.

The way that toes appear throught boots is quite mediocre… they even look like ugly horns in your boots

But without them they’ll look like they have little stump feet.

Isn’t it just quite sad that Asura should be able to invent / build golems and cities like Rata Sum but are not able to train their cobblers to make better shoes?

I’m trying to tell myself that all the asuran minds are just to genial to be bothered with such vanity.

I hated it at first but I got used to it and I kind of like it now. At the same time though, there should be more options for boots that cover the entirety of toes.

I thought they just built in toe-holes on their shoes

I must be the only one who gets very annoyed if all 3 toes aren’t showing…the toes should be sticking out…I can’t imagine that would feel very good being crammed in a boot like that.

The toes shouldn’t be sticking out, the boots should be designed so that it fits the Asura’s feet. Right now it just looks like a quick and crummy graphic job for the Asuras.

Unless I missed somewhere in the lore that the Asurans like to have one or two toes stick out of the boots….

I personally think we should get a ‘hide’ option for our shoes, as well as fixing the shoe graphics.

Given the clawed look of their hands and feet, their previous cave environments, and light weight, it’s possibly Asura had been climbing creatures and it’s still an instinctive discomfort to cover or restrict their toes.

Meh, I think it makes them stand out as different, which I think is probably the artists logic.

Take the Tau Empire in Warhammer 40,000. The Tau have 2 large toes and a smaller stabilising toe. But their troops wear bisected armour plates over the bulk of their feet which looks rather like a hoof. This has lead to a common misconception amongst players that tau have hooves.

Sometimes you have to make something REALLY obvious to get your message over or people misinterpret or overlook what they’re seeing

I figured that was intentional; you could easily make a shoe model that covers the toes/makes the toes “disappear.” but instead their toes show. it does look odd, but I consider it a racial quirk and it’s been growing on me.

I also feel the boots should cover the entire foot, it doesn’t make sense for toes to stick out like that – looks horrible.

They’re open-toed shoes, only on the sides. =P

Most of their designs are built for humans. Since their feet are different than humans, much like Charr, they have to adapt their clothing properly. You don’t see Inquests wearing open toe boots. That’s because they made their armor.

What Kita said, basically. All the Cultural armours have three toed boots, or no toed foot wraps. It’s a bit annoying, but hardly something I’mma kick a fuss about.

My skin is white, so I made my dye match my skin, and there you go! I have white 3 toed boots =P

If anything, we need more boots that also show the front toe, not just the side ones. Because it looks awesome.

Actually after read this thread, I was wandering around rata sum, and it occurred to me that the Asura cultural outfits and day clothes are barefoot – so, for whatever reason, Asura actually prefer to go around barefoot.

Asuran feet look closer to lizard claws IMO. I doubt they have to wear shoes at all. I always just figured they cut the bottoms off other races boots and wear the top armored portion as a type of shin guard.

In my opinion, the Asura toes sticking out of footgear looks like someone at ANet just got lazy. It literally looks like clipped textures, just slapping on the footgear skin while not worrying about the foot shape. Also, it doesn’t make sense for only the two side toes to be exposed. Either expose all the toes, or hide all of them.

I actually think their little toes look adorable. ^^

There are variations though even if they are a bit harder to find.

A sura armor wasn’t done with love and time. They rushed it and simply reused for 99% of the human armor. The only armor made for Asura that fitz them is their cultural armor and it would be a joke if they didn’t do that.

But a bit off topic did A-net ever make any statement about the Asura armor issue?

I wish more armor showed all three toes instead of just two. I can only think of two medium armor boots that show all three, and I’ve been holding on to them for transmutation.

There is almost no reason to use a Fine Xmute stone on asura armour because it all looks bland. Minus a few exceptions you have to jump through hoops to obtain.

In all honesty, I’ve had a close look at my Asuran toes and I can say that it’s not meant to be this way. It’s not like our ears stick out when we have hoods, why doesn’t the same logic apply to shoes? At least paint them the same colour as the shoe or remove them when the shoes are on, or make it so the foot is visible, like the Tauren’s in WoW.
