If you look at the loading screen art for R a T a SUM (sorry for the weird format I’m using windows speech recognition), you’ll see that the painted asura have much more fat necks that seem more physiologically proportionate with their head sizes. This gives them a very nice hardy meaty warm feel to their personalities which is lacking in their current state.

The in game asura look like these hyper little rat freaks and their necks are going to snap in half. They just make me go, ewww, I would never want to play that race and I don’t understand why anyone would choose to play one in their current appearance.
Arena net, if you make this change I guarantee will create an asura.

I do understand if the arena nets art team believe that making them have really narrow necks could make them have a comical appearance with the very large heads and funny had bobble animation during their jump. However, just because the load is distinctive and exaggerated doesn’t mean it is attractive.

TLDR: please fatten up the asura necks or give us an option to select much much fatter necks in the character creation screen.

Um, the heavier body types have thicker necks. If you wanted a thicker neck, choose those body types in the character create. When I first created my female asura, I thought her neck was way too tiny (I’d given her the skinniest frame available). I felt better after I fattened her up a bit.

That said, the neck size on the larger body types should probably be the standard thickness, I agree with that, but it doesn’t really bother me. If you don’t want to fatten up your asura, look into armor pieces that cover the neck. Even though my asura thief has a slight build, this never bothered me on him because his armors conceal his neck.

I was always more bothered by the asura ears. For a race that takes such pride in their ears, there is certainly a lack of decent looking ears among the asura. Although, my problem is mostly with a lot of ear types (on males more than females) clipping with shoulder armor and helms…and those weird ear spikes…what’s up with that?

It would not hurt you if they added more options for character customization., But instead it would only help me and players like me who seek fatter necks on asura.

Ah, I see. Well, perhaps something can be done about that in time.

I think the thin necks are fine. It is just…. asura to have thin necks. They had mostly thin necks in GW1 too. More options wouldn’t hurt I guess, but don’t be away with what makes asura… well… asura.

There’s always the glitch that causes your neck to disappear into your chest when you run, too.

Take the Chef discipline and feed your Asura lots of cakes and pies.

My asura warrior only eats pies and tarts and he’s still pretty skinny…although if he started getting chunky I’d have to swap him to a high protein diet instead. Too bad meat doesn’t replenish health like in other video games

I think the neck sizes are just fine.
