Whats best racial to spend skill points on first as an Asura Elementalist?

Radiation Field gets my vote. Long-lasting AoE Weakness and Poison. I juggle it with Glyph of Storms (in Earth Attunement) for excellent damage mitigation.

I also love the summoned Golems, but the fact that they only last 30 seconds compared to the 60 seconds for Glyph of Elementals means I don’t play with them as often as I’d like to.

what about best elite?

The higher cost defensive golem is good because it can provide a short reflect to a class that doesn’t normally have one. But I think the other golem does more damage. Might be a toss up for different situations.

The only racial worth looking at and considering for viable use is the human hounds of balthazar elite. The rest of the racials are terrible in terms of damage and/or utility. As an ele your FGS is your only good elite, and as a non-human ele you should never change it out. Tornado sounds cool but it doesn’t make you invulnerable so you will just get shot down by putting a big target on your head. Though Tornado is the only elite you have access to underwater so you might consider getting it for that.

Oh come on, I managed to 1 hit (fine, one multi-hit-skill) a guardian once on my golem suit. Proudest moment of my entire WvW career :P

Don’t look down on norn spirit forms. Become the Wolf, for example, gives you incredible sustain and become the snow leopard is a staple for many classes with weak elites and limited escape skills. That’s mostly WvW roaming, tho.
There are actually players, kitten-rolled to norn just to have snow leopard.

The drawback of them is obviously their very short duration and long cooldowns.

12 second cooldown to give your enemy a condition and a boon to yourself? Yes please. I love getting 2 Aegis’ over a 24 second period. I love chilling my enemy. This skill is so under-appreciated.

Aside from that, Radiation Field is great for PVE and giving a Profession a combo field. Warriors, for instance, only have one combo field available from the Longbow.
