Everyone I show my main character to (Asuran Thief) say the same thing: “Oh my god that race looks like Dobby!!”

They’re referring to Dobby the House Elf from the Harry Potter series. I personally don’t see the resemblance except the long ears. What do you guys think?

Physically there is definitely a resemblance.

The reason why you don’t hear many GW2 players say this is because the asura are a self-styled master race, while the house elves are a completely subservient slave race. The general demeanor of these two races are complete and utter opposites.

A layperson who knows nothing about the asura apart from their physical appearance will naturally consider them similar, but for us GW2 players it is difficult for us to associate arrogant asura geniuses with sniveling house elf servants.

Asura Power!!!!! I guess you’re right. Because I spend all day looking at an Asura I don’t notice any similarity.

If I had big ears and big wide eyes I’d probably look like Dobby too.

It’s funny because I’ve seen Sylvari called Elves more than Asura, and neither of them look like Elves to me.

If anything, I hear that Asura Gates are Stargates every kitten kittening day by my roommate. Can someone pass me a transmorphic phase unit, please?
