I stumbled upon this skill as I was leveling my mesmer.

I’m not sure if it was just coincidence (or maybe how bad I was at the time), but it really seemed to improve my ability to fight multiple mobs in PVE. I’ve pretty much kept it on my bar ever since.

I use it in PVE during Orr events. Put down the field. Send the illusionary berserker through it (throwing off poison bolts). Throw Mirror Blade through it adding more poison. And I can put down the illusionary warlock who gets a 20% boost from having to conditions. Plus it seems to really help survivability if I stand in it.

I also use it sometimes in dungeons – try to throw it on the middle of the melee.

But I almost never see other people use it. So I’m wondering if I’m just being sentimental in liking it so much since it helped me with leveling.

Anyone else use this skill frequently?

It remains one of our only decent skills. I use it constantly in wvw as an area denial tool and for the fact that it renews the debuff frequently, so cleansing effects don’t prevent it.

If my other aoe was as good, I`d be very happy indeed.

I use it alot on my guardian, it really fits with the AoE effect I like with the mace, so I just keep them focused on me while the poison just ticks and renews. Probably my fav of our skills.

I used it on my first character quite a bit, but have moved away from it since. It’s still a great skill though that adds a much needed poison ability to some classes that don’t have it, like Elementalist.

perfect for my zerk mesmer the weakness is just what i need in dire situations poison is nice too and 15 seconds duration is a lot. I use it all the time.

Pretty solid supplementary power for my bomb engineer, I used to use it a lot before taking elixir gun. Plus the toolbelt skill is a 9s AoE poison.

Haven’t used it on my mesmer yet, but my ranger uses it all the time.

I used it on my ele while leveling. The reason is simple: poison and weakness, both conditions, the elementalist has no/very limited access to.

I used it a ton on my thief while leveling… Then I learnt to use the shortbow.

I can imagine it getting decent use on a warrior though, seeing as they have little to know access to conditions, or AoE.

Using it often on my warrior while not in a party since they have a lot of finishers but can only provide one combo field by themselves. Poison and weakness from the combo field help a lot sometimes.

yep i use it in wvw alot. but not so much in pve

All the time. Thief with pistols and radiation field are a natural fit. Weakness is also great for reducing the overall mob DPS.

Radiation Field is very nice. One of only a few utility combo fields in the game (and easier to use than something like Ranger traps which have to be placed on an enemy) makes it fairly unique, and 10 seconds of weakness in a large area is pretty great.

I might call it the best racial utility in the game. Its definately up there if not #1.

I don’t use it on my guard, but I remember using it a lot on my Asuran ranger BWE3. I would drop in and the volley through it, stacking all the poison.

+1 for that. A venom thief, ranged weapon dream come true. Rata sum triggers to kill melee NPCs who come close to kill us. With my dodge skills I then kite them in circles, letting them bathe in warm, green radiating poison and weakness.

It’s a very useful skill for a melee. Drop down the field before charging a mass group of enemies in dungeons or lay it on a boss you know has killer attacks.

In a recent run through AC, I had my Asura Warrior using Radiation Field. On Kholer, it makes his spin not all that dangerous.

My Warrior uses it with his condition build so he has decent condition damage/duration making his burns, bleeds, poisons, immobilizes, weakness and so on last for quite a time.

Pain Inverter is also a decent Asura skill. It’s not that useful in PvE but in WvW, you can pop this often enough to screw people that spam you in melee, possibly even killing themselves in the process. On a 30sec recharge and boon/condition duration extends the effects of this skill.

IMO, it looks cool and works great for my Staff Mesmer and Sword/Gun Mesmer
