Elite Battle Suit

I was thinking the same thing. I bought perk and immediately was hit with how utterly useless it is.
The basic attack doesn’t seem to chain, the abilities are “meh”, it feels “slow”, and the fact that it doesn’t have its own health and uses your own made it pointless.
I was at least thinking it would provide some sort of armor value or health based on the level of the caster.
I think the trouble with making it a temporary ‘tank’ is that you could simply have 5 asura in your party to throw down the ability in sequence to cycle cool downs and have a permanent tank. While an interesting idea, it would be too easy to make it overpowered in group situations.

I think that sounds like a pretty cool idea actually. If Asura were in fact real, you don’t think they’d come up with ingenious ways of dealing with problems using their magic and science?

I like the idea of simply making the suit have a separate health pool, equal to the health pool of the summoning asura.
That way the damage you deal in the suit is still marginal due to how slow it is, but you get a fat bunch of extra HP.
Well the suit needs some work, that much is evident.
I don’t know if a sepparate health pool would be the way to go, as that would make a class mechanic (necro death shroud) intoa racial elite skill.
Maybe it should give a sinificant buff to health and toughness.
And the abilities will need some boost to make them worth using.
It should be more in line with a necro’s lich form which I hear is rather good, I guess.
The problem with giving the suit it’s own health pool is that Asuran necromancers could exploit it – it would be like a double death shroud.
Maybe if they changed it’s skill set from physical attacks to a myriad of support/ control style ones it could be more useful without making it particularly exploitable.
For an example, have the whirling animation initiate a group knockback, the flurry of punches could cause a daze in a cone formation in front of it, the self repair could instead initiate a temporary area shield, and the single punch could create small ball of fire that explodes on contact and damages nearby foes. This at least would give people an initiative to use it.

I like the seperate health pool idea, cause this skill is utterly useless. But Obfuscate makes a good point with Asuran Necros exploiting it.
The easiest way around a asura necromancer using the battlesuit as a third health bar is just to activate the death shroud into cool down if the battle suit is used. So they have a choice between using the battlesuit for someone else or death shroud for themselves.

Oh and of course the opposite… So if the asura necromancer used the death shroud, it would start the battle suits cool down.
