I have an 80 Thief and Ranger. I regret not making the Ranger an Asura.

I’m now torn between an Asuran Warrior, Necro, or…something.

Opine. Animations and armor are a huge consideration.

If you want to have a nice cultural armor for a light armor class, the light tier 1 looks good on a mesmer and tier 3 on an elementalist.

The cultural tier 1 weapons also look really nice on a guardian. And I want to add the greatsword animations are also nice (if you prefer the warrior or the guardian).

The asuran necro soundbytes are pretty fun for pet summons and deaths, at least as a female. Way better than a human female necro. I’d highly recommend it.

I regret making my necro a human every time my girlfriend plays her asuran necro and she says all these adorable things.

I’d make either Mesmer or Warrior. Mesmers are fun and they look great in T3… Warrior because the T3 looks really really great. Or Guardian, which ever you prefer.

Asura look really awesome in their light cultural armor, so I’d make a Necro

I love my Asura Engie, just for the delight of her running around dungeons with a flamethrower.

If you’re still in the thinking stage, I would suggest making a test character that is designed to melee. Asura have a unique dodging animation and they have a unique jumping fighting style for many of their melee attacks with larger weapons. Test drive an Asura Warrior with a 2-hander (or whatever you were looking at) and watch the animations. It shouldn’t take long for you to decide if you like the unique asura animations or if you hate them. This should help you choose the class that would work best for you.

Man, I do love the Asura Warrior and Mesmer animations. Hammer Asura just felt so good.

I think I’l have to make an Asura Warrior AND Necro.
