Guild Wars 2

I am unable to escape with the scabbard. I go to the circled green area on the map and there does not appear to be anyway to successfully escape without leaving the instance. Am I missing something? Anyone else having this issue?

I had a similar issue, finally figured it out. You have to actually have the scabbard picked up (which will change your action bar). In my case trying to swim quickly across the surface of the lake, something hit me HARD (not sure what) and I had to come out of a downed state at the surface (which caused me to drop the scabbard). Not realizing I’d lost it, I ran to the the green area towards the top of the instance, and couldn’t complete until I found where I dropped the scabbard and picked it back up. In my case, it marked the scabbard’s location with a green symbol when I got close to it.

The only way I was able to beat that quest was by swimming to shore but not breaking the surface, dropping it (so it doesn’t delete itself), and then picking it back up once I’m on shore.

Ditto, you have to get very very close to the shore and drop it so you can surface, then wade back in without actually swimming an pick it up out the water.

I’m amazed they havn’t fixed this bug, this’s been like this since week 1
