So after update my Asuras ears on several chars have become lopsided. Its like 1 ear is totally different from other. One is up higher than other and looks different in size. Anyone else have this problem?

I’m currently having this problem as well. I noticed it before the update but I’m not sure when it started because I was wearing a headpiece that hid my ears for a while. I don’t have any pictures ATM because I’m posting from a phone, but I will try to post some later.

i agree this is very ugly.
i had to buy a remake kit from the gem store and change my character’s ears for this very reason.

I have pictures now. It seems to be the right ear of the character that is lower.

Hm. I’m not sure I have it. If I do, its so minor I haven’t noticed it.

And you couldn’t wait til the fix and went out for a makeover kit? Wowee. There was a time when ear sliders weren’t working for male asura, but they fixed that. They will probably get around to fixing this too.

Some faces are more prone to uneven ears than others btw.

I think my Asura’s ears (and most Asura ears in general) have always been a bit uneven. I remember reading another topic about it a few months back.

Not sure if it was changed to be more uneven with the latest patch or not. I think mine looks about the same.

I checked screenshots from before the update and from the time when she was created (around the game’s launch), my asura has the same ears as OP’s character. The asymmetry was there, always.

But the funniest thing is, I never really noticed it, because I was wearing helmets that covered her ears. Now that I think about it, that asymmetry is a little bit too strong. Once you see you cannot unsee. :/

Every char creation that I’ve looked at Asura since launch, one ear has been larger and lower than the other. Imo, it’d be weird if they were perfectly symmetrical.

My RL-ears are also at a slightly different position. I should write my mum a bugreport.

Nah honestly human faces in RL are also never exactely symetric. There were some computer-generated photographs showing absolutely symetrical faces and they look ultimately weird. They posed the ears at slightly different positions to make the faces look more natural, I think.

actually, people always strive for maximum symmetry in faces and what not because symmetry is a sign of genetic healthiness.

asura who’s ears are too lop-sided is not a very good genetic specimen

I don’t mind them being asymmetrical, but this is a very obvious difference. At least for my character. If it was in fact there from character creation, I’m surprised I missed it. Perhaps I was so happy to be playing the game at all that I overlooked it.

It would be nice to have confirmation from Anet on whether this was intentional or not, though.

the reason those faces look odd is because people chosen had very unsymmetrical faces to begin with, not to mention the lightning is uneven making photoshoped pictures suffer from odd angles and shadows.

But that way the symmetry should make them beautifull. However I like the way my Asura looks. She would be more than boring with everything perfectly symmetrical. ^^

I have to laugh, because it looks like they’re constantly listening for something. My dog does that when a car drives past.

^ Well, if you hold a sword/offhand weapon, they have this cute animation like they were looking around alerted, sniffing something. Of course I’m not comparing them to dogs, but it still darn cute.
