Hello! I would like to know a little more about Asuras and their origins, there is a historian who can tell us more about the underground origin of the Asuras?

What happened to their city?
What inspired their mode of cultural buildings to their output in the ground?

# Asura because I’m worth it!

Demons? O,o

In GW1 the Asura are slumming it to some extent in the ruins of an ancient lost city built by unknown creators. According to the lore, the Asura copied the architectural style in their early creations to match the city they’d co-opted.

For practical purposes, the “asura architectural design” had already been designed for the “natives” faction in GW1: Eutopia – as seen in this concept art: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/File:%22Native_Architecture%22_concept_art.jpg

And it seems likely that they simply re-used the art assets instead of starting over. If anything the asura may’ve traded roles with the Eutopia natives and in turn the Skritt, if you look at the earliest Asura concept art and contrast that with the eutopia native’s concept art and Asuran cultural clothing

We know that the asura used to have great underground cities, and at least six of them were was grand if not more so than Rata Sum; and that one of these cities is named Quora Sum. None of these cities have survived the Destroyers.

It’s not much, but the official wiki has some history, and some links at the bottom to a little more about them.
