Personal Story: No Skritt!?
The availability of the tribal race choices is based on your character’s race. Only Humans, Charr and Sylvari get to pick Skritt to help/study.
Yeah, bot the OP is saying that he/she thinks that the Skritt, being a race so closely connected to the Asura, should be an option.
Mm. Thing is, the racial sympathy quests are based off what your player character’s race consider the most valuable allies to be. The reason skritt aren’t included in asura racial sympathy is because most asura really, really do not like skritt.
It’s because asura and skritt have a long, if somewhat bloodstained history. Before Primordus awakened, they both lived underground and constantly fought over resources and turf: they were competitors.
And if I may be so bold to suggest it… It actually seems like asura have an inherent fear of skritt, too. Remember the asura being scared off by the skritt during the sylvari starting quest? Or the asura in “That Old College Try” being very, very tentative about the skritt in that story?

They are scared of the skritt because they have studied them so much and know that when organized they can be very very dangerous and smart with their hivemind type traits…they do also for the most part hate them and use them a Ton though so makes sense kind of there is no sympathy quest for them

Yes, Asura and Skritt have a diffucult history, but there are some Asura which are really interested in the Skritt. In Metrica Province there’s a heart where you help researching the Skritt and even a Skritt rebellion event.
If the event is completed there’s a nice little dialogue at the end, something like:
Assistant: I told you that Skritt are dangerous! Why do we not study something sensible like … magical explosions?
Professor: No, we can’t stop now! The experiment was a complete success – We have to learn more.
Yes, Skritt should have been a choice for Asura. Maybe an Asura wouldn’t help them because of sympathy, but surely because of curiosity.
I can’t wait until ANet releases the game promoted in the manifesto.

there’s an argument going around about which will be the next playable race. the frontrunner seems to be Tengu. but a lot of us are screaming for Skritt.

personally i’m leaning towards a massive surprise. what’s that 1 race? they show up a few times in the game. in Brisban one of them is killing off Valiants. in another event you have to fight one of them who’s an assassin. i think their name starts with an ‘I’.
they’re cool looking though.
