My asuran necromancer is called Minigrump, and my asuran Engineer is called Techno Mini

As Minigrump didn’t rate you Antediluvian, I will.
Zixax: 9/10 > It sounds cool, but after saying it out loud a couple of times you start to stumble over it a bit. I (think) it is lore-based, so kudo’s for that!

And although Minigrump didn’t rate anyone, gues I will;
Minigrump/Techno Mini: 6/10 > Funny name, however not a ‘real’ name. The play on ‘mini’ and Asura always kinda ticks me off as uncreative :P

I posted my Asura name earlier, but didn’t get rated… So I’m going to post it here again:

My guardian is called Sholto.

I like it! Although it isn’t lore related, it’s very befitting for an Asuran guardian. 8.5/10.

I’ve got two Asuran elementalists, Krittero and Zaiilen.

Don’t know why… but Zaiilen sticks out more than Krittero for being more “Asuran”. Both work well though.

My Asuran Engi is named Qwerkk.

9.7/10: Doesn’t follow the lore/naming rules, but techy & creative hence mostly fitting (and same thing I did). I suspect after Asura have lived amongst humans, norn, and charr enough some might start adapting surnames for themselves too.

In a similar vein, all mine are named after programming stuff:

Guardian: State Machine (boons = state)
Engineer: Mersenne Twister (algorithm)
Warrior: Tar Ball (unix zip file)
Ranger: Blum Blum Shub (algorithm, yes really)

8/10. I’m sure if I’d appreciate these names more if I knew more about programming. Yours don’t follow cultural Asuran naming rules.

Female Mesmer: Chrona The Punctual (Chrona from ‘chrono’ meaning time)

Female Engineer: Nijnn (pronounced as the German “nein”)

I made her brown with an eyespot and the longest ears, biggest eyes to make her look as much as possible like a bunny (nijn = cutesy word for bunny in Dutch).

Think I already posted my main Elementalist Mini Star before.

Nijnn is a cute name! Even if you don’t read it like “nein”. I’d say 10/10. ;o

I have a couple of asura.

Josca – My female engineer, it’s actually a play on my dad’s name. He’s a big DIY guy and generally a genius mechanic/engineer. I grew up with our living room full of cogwheels, electrical wiring and various motorcycle parts from wheels and suspensions to entire engine blocks. I love my dad, and I love my engineer!

Grexxa – My female necromancer, from the latin noun grex, meaning flock. I felt it fit with the concept of minions, even if I rarely use them.

Epigrapher Evvi – My second elementalist (after my main, a human). I wanted a glyph based build or possibly an s/d burst build with air magic and epigraphy is the study of inscriptions.

Gadgeteer Glixx – My second engineer. Josca is a pistol/pistol or pistol/shield all things condition engineer, but I wanted another engineer for a static discharge or power build. I’m pretty sure I saw a Glixx earlier somewhere in this thread too, so I know I’m not the only one. (I really would’ve liked Engineer Xapp, an asura NPC from GW1, but someone took that name already haha)

Love all the name in here, some are very asuran and some are very…“creative” for asura XD

Name of my 5 asura :
Zevanth : my ele, dunno how to name an asura because this is my first char
Fartt : my mesmer, he is bald and charming
Crottt : my thief, because he like to backstabing people
Snortt : my necro, dunno why i naming him this tho
Skooll : my engi, fat dude who love to run around in EB for repairing walls

Zevanth: A good first attempt, even if it’s completely outside of Asura naming conventions 6/10
Fartt: Okay, I take issue with this, but that’s personal taste, so I’ll skip rating it
Crott: I like the wordplay. 8/10
Snortt: oddly, this seems more like most asura names I’ve seen. 8/10
Skooll: Here we go! This one I like. 9/10

I only have one personally, and that’s Rullu. Necromancer; uses minions almost exclusively. They basically golems made of meat and bone, after all. One’s even called Flesh Golem.

I really like Rullu. It just has a nice ring to it- plus, it’s lore friendly.

I’m new to Guild Wars 2, in fact, I first played it yesterday.

My first and only character is called Saana The Virtuoso, an Engineer. Saana is derived from Sana, a name of Arabian/Hindu origin that means ‘brilliant’.
As for her title… Let’s just say she’s not particularly modest.

Saana is an epic name! Sounds like something George R. R. Martin would call Dothraki children

As for me I tried to turn Cookiemonster into an asuran terrorist so I ended up with cookiebombs

I like the name it’s short true seems young asuran Sopu

I like these names, they sound very Asuran. Although, “pleb” was once used around here as an insult so the first name sounds a bit off to me personally.

Necrologist Wikk

“Necrologist” is pronounced similarly to “Biologist”. I don’t usually use name prefixes but I thought it was quite fitting for an Asuran; and different to my other character names.

Wikk is nice and crisp, although I know too little about Asuran naming customs to judge it accurately there. Nonetheless – Necrologist Wikk. Has a certain air, which I like.
My new mesmer’s name is not an Asuran name, by any means. Regardless, what do you all think of it?

HOWEVER, it reminds me of GW1 days when people could just make PvP characters and name them whatever they wanted because “I want to run 7 interrupts on my bar NOW and I don’t want to invest in a PvE character to do so!” Mind Kitten feels like a name in that vein and so for that I won’t fault you. Also, you chose my favorite face.

Thief – Lil Oni Kage
Guardian – Narakuma

Lil Oni Kage – 7/10 Oni Kage is simple, however lacks a double letter combo of sorts and isn’t “rough” enough in sound that is typical of Asuras.
Narakuma – 7.5/10 Props for finding one-worded name. The name is nice, however it’s too long and Japanese-sounding to match Asura lore names.

My female Asura guardian’s name:

Qaali

(pronounced kah-lee) variations of Kaali were taken, so I just went with a letter close to “k” in the IPA (international phonetic alphabet). Name has both feminine Asura vowels (“a” and “i”), yet still kept a “hard” sounding consonant to remain Asura-like Also stuck with two-syllables as well with being one-worded, which was hard to find, given that a lot of combos have been taken already >.<

My Asura Mesmer’s name is Zephyllia (zeh-FILL-ya). A lil on the long side, but I personally think it works!

Mine’s an Elementalist named Amphi and is also male, he doesn’t follow the traditional names of Asura due to not actually growing up in Rata Sum.

Mine’s an Elementalist named Ragnazoth Volcanite. The reason I gave him a surname is because people I know often say I’m ‘odd’ or random which basically eccentric is another word for. Also thought it would help if someone asked why I didn’t try to emulate the Asura’s normal vocabulary.

My Asura name is Funxx, a Dynamics engineer extraordinaire

Funxx – I will give it 8/10. It’s a good short name. If it was just ‘Funx’ then i would rate it 9, but Funxx works well.

My guardian is called Esekial – it’s a variation from the name ‘Ezekiel’, meaning “God will strengthen”

My warrior is called Zeecke

i like the warrior name the guardian one is interesting too but warriors is better imo I have engineer and she is called Cruxie Megullus

My main is an Asuran Mesmer named “The Real Maccoy”
In WvW, He keeps as many clones out as possible and stealths a lot, to confuse enemies as to which one is actually him.
