8/10 on Blinked You Missed, it’s a funny and smart name and really suits a mesmer (especially one that do PvP).

I got 5 asuras (4 of them are part of a crew).

Even tho you might think they are relatives, they are not. They are part of the Styx clan which holds members of other races aswell.

The asuran crew decided it was in their best interest to join the clan after becoming outcasts of Rata Sum once the council had tricked them and stolen their invention.

Veraza, in search of hidden and dark necromancy, stumbled upon the Clan while researching an old tomb belonging to a supposedly strong Lich. After defeating the lich together he decided to join the Clan.

Mesmer: Monns

Reasoning behind the name: I’m called Monstrum in real life (I’m not scary or agressive, just big and strong. 2m, 100kg+ and very muscular) so I took out Mons from that since Asuras have short names and doubled the n as a lot of Asuras have doubled letters.

I like the name, but I feel it would be better for a War/Guardian, 7/10.

Seer Sykke (Male Asuran Elementalist)

8/10 I like the sound especially when pronouncing it and it’s very asuran

Ginggo – Male Asura Ele (pronounced with a hard G at the start)

8/10 … I like it a lot. Seems to suit an asuran. Maybe just missing the descriptive part of the name. I also like that it’s an actual name and not a play on words.

Female engineer: Director Zizag

9/10, pretty awesome. It feels like the kind of name a serious professor with a lot of weird eccentricities would have.

Your characters name feels it would be more suited for an Human. Asurans names always short one syllable or two long syllables. Female names usually end with an vowel (A, E, I, O, U, & Y), while male names ends with an consonants (B, C, D, F, G, H, J, K, L, M, N, P, Q, R, S, T, V, W, X, & Z.)

  (e.g. Zojja, Aleeo, or Siiru)

Asurans may also create position/specialty/title to their name. It’s an simple process, all you have to do is follow these steps to create an custom profession that sounds all Asura in nature.

• Pick an root word that you like
• Add a magical or scientific sounding suffix
• Add a prefix if needed
• Combine steps to create position/specialty/title

To take it one step further, you made add your character’s Krewe/College/Birth Place after the name to bring more prestige to your character. Many characters will have this type of naming because it feels more natural and less forced by players who create their own position/specialty/title to their name.

Tip for Better Name: Use the English language’s prefixes, suffixes, and roots for position/specialty/title.

Tip for Better Name: Try to base your character’s background off real information and character’s profession.

Tip for Better Name: Use an place/object/action for root word.

Tip for Better Name: Surname doesn’t necessarily have to be Asuran in nature, because most Asurans don’t have a Surname. Those that have one are unique in nature and tend to stand out.

Trivia: Zoozuu’s surname Deus came about by her parents honoring an Human (Markus Deus) who saved the life of her parents from Inquest, that is how Zoozuu gain an Surname opposed to not having one and being bind by Asura naming.

In the Gem store, there is an service that allows you to change the name of your character to an more suitable name for Asura. I gave Rlabs and others an detail instructions how to make an more suitable name. Hopefully we can see more unique Asura names that could lead to maybe new Asura characters involved in Guild Wars 2 storyline.

Also in my post is my character’s card with Asura Script! :p

8/10, Really solid first name but personally I don’t like last names for Asura very much. I know last names are possible but I just don’t find them to be “normal” for Asurans. Of course that’s just my personal preference, please don’t take it badly, I think many other people would give it a 9 or even a 10.

Of course my name doesn’t really suit any Asura very well, so I’m really one to talk, huh? I’m posting here more to get some feedback on alternative names than to have my current one rated, though if you’d be so kind as to rate it, it would be appreciated. He’s a mesmer named “Voltros the Mad”, the madness I attribute to an already unstable psyche and years of fighting and desolation in the mists, and the name, well… That’s why I’m here. It just doesn’t seem very “Asuran”, the only excuse I could possibly make is that in his madness he abandoned his old name and adopted a sort of senseless one.

Some names and sounds that I’ve been considering are listed (you’ll notice I have a fixation on z’s and x’s, because they’re cool of course!)

Zakk is a good Asura name, though that fact that you have multiple characters of the same name brings it down a bit. And the titles are okay.

Here’s my asura necromancer. Her name is “Little Dorcha” which means “Little Darkness”
I’m adding a couple of pictures since her name’s very much inspired from her creepycute looks.

I have two: a thief named Razza the Swift and a necro named Rizza the Deadly.

Well since the above forgot to rate, I get to rate two!
I find Little Dorcha very cute 7/10

And Razza and Rizza sound like relatives and they fit the asura name but I find the title bland 6/10

I named my first Asura Staunen. Looking back at it, it seems more like a human name.

My asura name is Pocket MacGyver, She is a engineer. All my characters have names that goes well with lore of their race, but i felt like i need one with fun name. IMO best asura engineer name possible

My second Necromancer is named Jiukki (U-KEY).
When I name my characters, I choose their names based on their personalities and what the definitions of their names are. Since this name is completely made up and I have no idea whether or not Asura even care to give their names meanings, I decided to give it one anyway. Jiukki: A bountiful intellect and deceptive personality. Beauty matched only by apathy.

Just created another Asura on my account, this time a Necro named ‘Rigo Mortise’

8/10 I thought that 7 letters looks too long for an asura but everything still fits. Neat name though! For mine, all of them are male (and asura for the bookahs that ask for race):

Nephologist stands for someone who cloud research

Yuuna likes rain and winter in general, so she always experimenting on creating artificial clouds, one day while working on one of her invention, the experiment went wrong and turned Yuuna into a cloud! :p

She is wearing the zodiac armor and working atm on a way to turn herself back…

Peligro Zonianson – 7/10. Peligro is good, Zonianson would fit a Norn better.
Nephologist Yuuna – 9/10. Nephologist is a great title, and Yuuna’s an excellent name.
