Every other racial intro has their racial musical theme play. All of them except for the Asura. Seems kinda inconsistent. Also bugs me considering how freakin awesome the Asura theme is.

Do we know for a fact the former is the actual Asura theme?

Because EVERY time we’ve seen official Asura related material it uses the second theme – the preview of Rata Sum, the intro, even some Asura territories in the game.

Because it seems possible someone uploaded the so called “Asura theme” titled as such, which has then been re-uploaded by other users under the same name and in turn people now think it is the Asura theme.

Personally I think they made the right choice, the former theme is a bit too sweeping and grand, whereas the latter plays with small timid notes yet has classical overtones (often associated with intellectual pursuits)

Well, personally, I like the intro theme much more than I do the theme song. The theme song feels a little generic, but that’s probably just me.

I base the assumption that the link I gave was the Asura theme off of the fact that it is the song that plays during the official “Races” trailer by Arenanet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXlzIRYA4NE

To be fair the first one doesn’t sound very Asuran. It’s full of brass and sweeping sounds that seem very close to the human/gw theme. I think they changed their minds during development, and rightly so.

FYI the piece from the intro is called Snaff’s Workshop.
I don’t think I recognise the first one.

The first link’s song seems a bit to…energetic for the intro of the asura. Though that being said, to me its a bit more memorable then the currently used one.
