Hey there, I kinda feel that all racial skills are weak. I read somewhere that that was Anet’s intention but I can’t help to think that racial skills should get buffed in the future.

What is the last time you saw anyone using any racial skills? Not many times I presume. I can’t blame them, those skills are far too weak to be used. But why is that? PvE isn’t about balancing every profession unlike PvP where racial skills are not available. PvE is about having fun, right?

I am talking about Summon Power Suit, Asura racial skill. In my honest opinion I think that they should completely rework this skill.

First of all, move healing skill to the number 6 and exit skill to the number 0. Add one more skill in number 5, and maybe few utility skills.
Next, I think that when suit gets destroyed, the pilot shouldn’t die. Maybe take damage and burning condition or something. That was kinda what I was imagining back in the days of Beta Weekends.
Stats should also get set to a certain value, not add up to your own stats because your armor means nothing while inside the suit (or power, or anything). Now, make it last a little bit longer and reduce the cooldown a lot (to 100 seconds or less, maybe?)
Last, add some more details about the skill in the skill tooltip.

I would like to see all racial skill get buffed, but all I can do is hope Anet will do something about it.

I know what you mean, but Anet whanted people to role classes and not races. Making one of my favourite elites stronger, would make more people play the asura and norns whose skills are the weakest would die out.

Unless they gasp made all the elites equally powerful and people might gasp again choose a race based on how you like to play and not on which one has a .0001 advantage over some other race. Theorycrafting always kitten es me off. Nothing destroys a game faster than min-maxing theorycrafters. My radio and my TV are the only things in my life I want tuned.

Just reducing the cooldown would make me happy. I’m fine with using a skill that is essentially a self nerf, but 240 second cooldown? The last time I used that thing in WvW more often than not the enemy would simply run away while I sat on my reduced movement speed suit, leaving me with the gigantic cooldown.

Seriously, it does less damage than my normal skills, moves slower than I would without it and has average survivability at best. Just let me use it!

That being said, after 10 or so attempts I did manage to get one kill with the suit. The proudest moment I’ve ever had in WvW

Have you ever used the norn elites in pvp? They are all extremely powerful! By a long shot the most viable of the racial skills. I cant say if they are more useful than the class elites, but snow leopard/bear form are very strong.

One of those norn elites has a dash that covers an amazing amount of distance. I’ve had two people run away this week that’s left me feeling like Wile E. Coyote after the Road Runner meep-meep’d him.

I do wish the summoned Golems were a bit more… awesome.
