Hello,
Am I the only one severely disappointed with this armor set?

I’m really hoping it’s a joke and they plan on reworking it because I would NEVER consider buying it in its current form.. Which is a shame because it could have been so cool seeing how good the light and heavy versions are.

Personally I like the T3 medium armor, especially the headpiece and gloves

The thing that keeps me from buying the heavy armor cultural T3,
is it got not only gems floating in a fixed unnatural way on the shoulders,
but even on the knees and looks like the lower leg part floats as well.
Not very cool in my opinion, please have an asuran blacksmith look
at the get away parts of the armor.

If that was fixed, I would actually work on getting the money to buy it,
because then it might look better.

I agree with you leviathan, I guess I was being too harsh. I like everything except the headpiece (WHICH I DETEST) and the shoulders aren’t very complimentary to the rest of the set!

I love the Gloves. IMHO the most ‘Asuran’ equipment ever!

I’m using just the shoulders at the moment (with the Krytan set) and love it =D

I am of the sort that looks at the Asuran medium armor T3 (cultural) and disapproves. It does not call out “Ranger” or “Thief” or “Engineer” to me. It is visually appealing and it is very Asuran BUT it does not “fit” any of the professions when compared to how well the light armor T3 or heavy armor T3 do. I actually would have preferred the light armor T3 (Savant Armor) for engineers because of the goggles and all the pouches around the waist. The electronic arm would have been a stretch for Thieves and Rangers but it could have worked.

I absolutely love Asuran T3 Medium, and am currently saving up for it. That said, I do with there was an option to have the headpiece not remove your hair.

even as those other “proffesions” you will always have that scientific maniac inside you ready to explode some turtles with a death ray of uber doom.

and you can make a good back story, used to be a top engineer with your krewe then learnt the shadow arts to combat the inquest then got the attention of order of whispers and became a spy / assasin to fight zhaitans higher ranked goons. ( i play an asura thief)

so yeah asura will always be mad scientists first no matter how much u say other wise.

so yeah medium tier 3 does match asura culture. and i do want to farm gold for it. but will take so long

I love the Asuran cultural armor, all of it, especially the T3 medium helmet…with one big caveat: It seems to remove hair. At least in the preview.
Is there any chance it’s just a preview glitch? I hope so.
Otherwise, it would be great if Arenanet took a look at that.

Are you kidding? The tier 3 heavy is AMAZING! So is whatever zojja wears on her head. But back to the heavy. I’m going to get a full set , have it silver armor, with gold trims, and the glowing lines are going to be silver; so similar to a TRON design. I already have the pact warhammer and a pistol (forgot the name) that match the style of this armor (blue outlined TRON style). Only thing is I got the tier 3 shield/sword/greatsword nad they’re purple so it’ll be a little iffy, but those weapons are amaaazing just like the armor

When I saw the t3 medium cultural I thought “now this is gonna look cool on my Asura”. And when I previewed it, I was right. Imo, the cultural armor are made to fit the race, not any particular class. Even if it’s classed as light/med/heavy. What would make it more suited to the class is the colourset.

I would like to know is you have the same problem as me for the T3 light armor. I bought the coat, the epaulets and the helmet.
Unfortunately the epaulets don’t appear on my character. The coat and btw the right arm seems to make bug the epaulets. I tried with many epaulets and different coats:
- if I stay with the T3 coat, the epaulets won’t appear.
- if I change for another coat, the epaulets appears.

(sorry for my bad english)

I think the T1 set is the best, the others look freakish.

I agree with leviathan.2148 BUT you’ll have to agree with me the way the chest and the legs look (I mean the lowered “cool parts” compared to the usual armors) are kinda hard to combo with other armor pieces, so won’t let much customization.

They are pretty cool though.. hmm.. a bit too expensive btw, even just those gloves+helm

I imagine shaving the head for gear is especially provocative for the Asuran culture, as large heads denoting intelligence is supposedly extremely sexy. This would explain the appearance of the medium T3 helmet but I don’t understand what’s going on with the rest of the set. It looks like jewelry sewn on to a vinyl teddy bear almost. I mean it doesn’t look very prominent in any aesthetically meaningful way. I would have thought it would be more sleek with glowing circuitry.

I absolutely love the chest armour, not a big fan of the rest of it though.

I’m still at a loss of whether to leave my tier 2 chest piece for my engie, to go tier 3. I’ve gotten the tier 3 boots and gloves, subbed the pants with Inquest(they look identical to me save the buckle) and with the combination of the tier 2 shoulders and chest it looks really nice. But one question I want to ask is if the chest piece glows similar to the heavy or light armors, I don’t want to spend the gold to find out.
